'I bolted into my room and started searching in my closet for an "I am the perfect nanny, trust me with your kid" outfit.'

The way this girl is going, I wouldn't trust her with my pet cactus...let alone a living, breathing person.

Going Nowhere can either be summed up by its title, or by the quick summary below:
- Girl is angsty as hell
- No one understands her! *cue violin music*
- Girl doesn't have a job
- Girl meets cute guy
- Cute guy finds her a job
- Cute guy and girl fall for one another in a highly predictable fashion
- The relationship based on mutual lust falls apart
- They get back together
- Cue music

Yes, it sounds a lot like High School Musical. No, it's not as good, nor does it feature Zac Efron. I'd much prefer to end a book in a rousing chorus of "We're all in this to-geth-er!" than with a cover of Christina Perri's Arms by our whiny pushover charming female protagonist.

This book sends so many mixed messages. One minute it's all "I AM WOMAN HEAR ME ROAR!"

And the next it's all "Oh, come on! You looooooooove him! It doesn't matter if he betrayed your trust and acted like a asshat! You need to do a big romantic gesture for him, not the other way around!"

There is not enough ice-cream in the world to help me recover from this book.

It earned it's 2-star rating by a smidgen. I was about to give it a 1, but Jason's nephew is far too darn adorable - the only saving grace in a book filled with whining, more whining, intense staring matches, panting, sobbing, crying, yelling, smooching and pop culture references.

Okay, and maybe it earned another star for referencing The Office. That show is amazing.

I don't know what else to say about this book, really...except that I was majorly disappointed and was expecting these characters to be different - not to stick to the NA/YA stereotypes this book's female protagonist haughtily proclaimed she'd never fit into.

I don't even know where to begin with how much I loved and freaking adored this novel. I was giddy, laughing, squeeing, teary eyed and in obsessive love with every single thing about this book. K.M. Galvin has written a book that is forever on my keeper shelf and re-read shelf. Right from the prologue, I was hooked, and by the time I finished reading the first chapter, I knew I was going to love this book.

When Marisol or Mari, for short, graduates college with a history major, she encounters the problem many individuals are facing after graduation - she can't get a job. With no options and no job offers, she is forced to move home and live with her parents. On her first day home - literally having just driven into town - she picks a bar, goes in and orders a drink. In the process of getting a drink, she meets the bartender. After a delightfully hilarious encounter with the bartender that includes copious amounts of word vomit, she downs her drink and races out without a backward glance. That's when things become interesting, turns out she leaves her ID at the bar.

Realizing that she needs to go back to the bar, she drags herself out of bed and her pit of depression, to go get it back. Which is where she comes face to face with the bartender, who happens to be the wonderfully sweet and sexy, Jason. When she continues to suffer from word vomit that spews her humiliation and slight depression onto him, he counters with a job opportunity. Working for his sister, Emily, watching her son, Michael.

With no other options and in desperate need of some money, she calls Emily and accepts the job. From there it gets all kinds of funny, heartwarming, sexy, and completely awesome. As Mari and Jason begin to fall into a friendship that ultimately turns steamy, she also begins to become friends with an incredible group of people, Emily included.

Mari is one of my favorite main characters of recent books, she deals with stuff that is very relevant to anyone struggling to find their way in life. I found her hugely relatable and so many times throughout the book, I was nodding my head, as she dealt with life. It's odd learning to be an adult, loving yourself and letting other people in. She's also crazy, hilarious, and an all around awesome individual. I loved her.

Which brings me to Jason. I loved him from the very first moment that he appeared. His first scene has little to no real detail about him, but even without much detail of what he looks like, or even his name, my curiosity was piqued. And when we finally learn more about him, like his name, his looks and the fact that he used to be in a band - someday Rock Star Alert! - I fell into complete book love. This guy is all kinds of wonderful - seriously.

The chemistry between Mari and Jason is strong, really strong. I loved their friendship, their humor and how they react to each other. I also really liked their nicknames for each other, Mari calls him Bartender and Jason calls her Crazy - cuteness, major flipping cuteness. Definitely adding this wonderful couple to my list of favorite book couples.

The other characters in the book are equally as interesting, especially Emily, Jason's sister. Emily is AWESOME!! I really can't wait until the next book, need to know what happens with Emily. Every single character though, stands out, and they each have their own unique personality. Loved them all.

All in all, I really loved this book. It's super sweet, very sexy, with friendships that I wish I was apart of, a relationship that I couldn't help but root for, a main character that had me laughing almost non-stop and a book boy that grabbed my bookish heart. I can't recommend this book enough, if you like the New Adult genre, than you definitely need to read the awesomeness that is Going Nowhere. K.M. Galvin is an author to keep your eye on, and I for one will be reading anything else that she writes.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Genre: NA, Casual Romance.
Cover: 7/10
Writing: 8/10
Heroine: 7/10
Hero: 8/10
Amount of humour: 5/10
Amount of jealousy: 2/10
Hotness: 6/10
Romance: 8/10
Ending: 9/10
Extra book Details: HEA. HOPING other books in the series will feature spin-off characters as leads.

BLURB: Marisol's final college year has ended, her roommates are moving out, getting on with their lives, getting jobs, her sister is getting married... and she's... moving back home.

'I don't even know who I am anymore. I'm not a student. I'm not a historian. I don't have a job. I don't have roommates. I don't have a fucking boyfriend. I don't have anything but the option of moving home and a worthless degree.'

On the way to her parents, and unable to face them so soon, she stops at a local pub where she meets bartender and musician; Jason.

Marisol and Jason hit it off straight away, spending time together, declaring instant friendship with each other. Jason is a total guy, he's a kidder, they have lots of fun moments and easy camaraderie.

Their feelings grow, but Marisol's identity crisis gets in the way.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I was in-between giving this a 3.5 and a 4 star, It's a pretty casual, easy-going read with a smidge of drama to keep the story going.

Personally, I didn't really 'get' their issues, probably because I couldn't relate. There were some very hot make out scenes. Jason was a great male character.

What I really liked about this book? I really loved the relationship between the two, instant friends, common interests, lovable and silly natures, believable soul-mates.

Her voice was that of great desperation. Marisol Finnegan had done everything right. She had good grades in college, and spent her time studying rather than partying and now that she had graduated she was jobless and is moving back home with her parents – pathetic, but can you relate?

Does it ever happen to you – the feeling of impending doom? That feeling of great frustration asking the world why is it against you, you have done everything right and haven’t pissed anyone off? Mari’s problem was palpable, you can read it in her words, feel it deep and you will feel sad for her at times, and at the same time you have this urge to tell her to stop moping around and get on with her life. Get whatever life can offer RIGHT NOW, while fixing her life in the process.

Stopping at a bar for a drink, she meets this bartender, Jason Scott – who became her friend, her best friend, and then – things just happen from there. He is one hot guy who gave her a job, even it was not in her line. Introduced her to his sister, Emily and of course little Mikey – whom you will love as well. They welcomed her with opened arms in their arms. And for the first time in her life since she graduated, she wasn’t a mess. She was still trying to put herself together, but at least she was happy. You can see the change in her as the story progress.

Mari tried to stop what she felt for Jason – the attraction, that giddy feelings he invokes in her when he’s around, but the chemistry was just too potent to stop, soon, she found herself giving in to him. They had a great relationship, especially since it started with friendship. The problem is that, these two people had a past that is holding them back. She wasn’t completely fixed yet, and so is he. Decisions were made that causes problems, and soon heartbreak followed.

I thought it would end up in a cliffhanger, I was almost so sure of it, since I was nearing the ending and the couple are too stubborn to talk about their problems. I was losing hope of their reconciliation. Good thing Emily and her sister knock some senses into her.

The ending, especially the grand gesture surprised me, since it was always the male lead who does it. So it’s quite refreshing to see a female lead sweat for once. Nevertheless, I enjoyed reading this book a lot. It may started with me getting frustrated with Mari, but I enjoyed her journey towards finding herself, and of course finding her HEA. It was great to see her character making a change, it wasn’t just done overnight, it was gradual, believable and real.

Mari is the kind of character a lot of new graduates and some women may relate with. There will be times in our lives when we get lost and lose track of our destination – but you shouldn’t lose hope. Grab what life has to offer, because when you are meant to reach that destination – you will reach it, just enjoy the ride. This book tells the story about the woman who was once lost, frustrated and hopeless – but got up on her feet, found her way back into life.

Going Nowhere is the first book in the series, and it was a grand way to start it. It’s sweet, romantic, hot and totally an inspiration to everyone.

I can’t wait for the next installment – it would probably be Declan & Emily’s! :D

Making yourself vulnerable to someone wasn't weak, but the bravest thing anyone can do.

Going Nowhere is about Marisol (Mari) who after graduating college, finds herself having to move back home.....not what she had planned at all. While pulling back into her home town, she decides to stop off at a bar on her way home. There she meets Jason, after loosing her ability to control what is falling from her mouth, she slams back her drink and runs out (without her license).

Marisol is just lost, she has no job, no idea of what to do, so when she is offered a job being a nanny she jumps at the chance to make some money. Jason and Marisol start an instant friendship, and the way they tease each other had me holding onto my stomach and wiping tears from my eyes.

When friendship starts to feel like more Mari runs.....and she runs....Thinking she is doing what is right, she doesn't think or believe enough in herself of the relationship she has with Jason to stop running. While going through so much in her life, she realizes that even when things seem hard, they are still worth the fight.

This book does have its HEA, the book is written like life....you don't know what will happen next, if it is right or wrong, but to get to the end you have to travel your path bumps and all.

This was a very enjoyable read for me, it had me laughing, crying, feeling like yelling at the characters...what else do you want in a book, right? The next book will include, Emily who was a very captivating character and I am looking forward to reading her story as well.

I keep going back and forth on the star rating so I decided to leave it blank. This is K.M.'s first book and I really think she shows an immense amount of talent.
The good:
1. The funny. This book has it. And it's good, smart funny. Smart funny is hard to find.
2. The premise/theme is relatable about a new college graduate trying to find her way after school. I could relate to the MC's feelings and struggles, which ultimately saved the character.
3. Ms. Galvin can write. She should keep writing because (as I stated previously) she has A LOT OF TALENT and shows promise.
4. This book was refreshingly different (in tone, voice, and approach). The premise is not new, but the story felt novel because the author has such a unique, lovely, and engaging voice.

The needs work:
Redundant passages led to clotted pacing and a main character who was hard to root for (at times). I made this mistake with my first book. If the reader already knows, you don't need to tell them 3 more times (especially if it's something bad/unflattering about your lead). Just tell us once then move on. This slowed the book down and made it difficult to continue.

I would tell you all to keep an eye on KM Galvin. Her voice is compelling, her funny is smart, and I think (as she writes more books) she's going to blow everyone away with both.

Have you just graduated from College/University and now you are at the point where you have a degree that took you so long to earn it but you can't find work with it ? I know what that's like as I'm finding it difficult to find work in my degree field, so am continuing on with my previous job at the library. Going Nowhere features and highlights the issue of being jobless , stuck and feeling like a failure once you have finished college. Marisol has just graduated with a degree in History and aims to work in a museum but she cannot find work , so with no other option in sight, she heads back home to live with her parents and find whatever job she can scrape up. It's at the local pub she meets her guardian angel of sorts - the bartender Jason Scott , he has a job offer for her . To help out his sister by looking after and being a nanny to her son Michael. Though, this was never Marisol's plan , she finds herself taking the job and with that she finds herself a new family and friends. Will this job be the start of something new in the relationship department or will their stubborness and obliviousness get in the way of things not just once but twice ?

Find out in Going Nowhere , a book for Twenty-Somethings who have just graduated and are stuck in life.

Going Nowhere is the kind of story that many girls in a way can relate to. Could you imagine going off to college, getting good grades and graduating only to end up being jobless? Leaving you with one option, move back home with your parents. Of course you can, because this is something that everyone is going through!

I loved that I could made a connection to Mari. Authors, it's an added bonus if your reader can made a connection with one of your characters. I really enjoyed the relationship between Mari and Jason and the way it develops from friendship into something more. They were the couple that had common interest and great chemistry! I look forward to reading the next book, which will hopefully be about Declan!

I loved the characters in this book, they made the story flow and I felt for all of them. Marisol is a down on her luck recent college grad who isn't sure where she wants to go next, Jason is a Bartender/ Musician who always seems to see Marisol at her worst. Jason has made his sister Emily is priority. Emily juggles a full time job and her young son Mikey, and don't forget about Marisol's sister, Marisol's future brother in law and Jason's band buddies. They weave themselves together into a tight knit group and share their ups and downs. Marisol gradually finds a new path in life with the help of each member of the group while helping them out along the way. While Marisol thought she was going nowhere, she was headed in the right direction all along.

I finished this all in one all-nighter. Hehe whoops. It was good and emotional and well it doesn't help that I'm 90% more emotional after midnight but still. The idea behind the story really resonates to me since I'm in that same position after college mostly. But also, the romance was sweet and I pretty much fell in love with Jason.

There were still some spelling and grammar mistakes that were annoying but I got over it. Also, the non-main characters were all kind of cheesy and ended up best friends at first sight which was weird. I mean, I wish that would happen to me haha. Anyway, i think I'll purchase the second book in the series soon and hope Emily is not too annoying for me.

Mari has done everything right, taking her studies seriously, avoiding parties while in school, and earning her college degree.  But now what?  Her degree isn't proving to be very useful, she can't get a job to save her life, and she's left behind as her roommates head off into  the world to make something of themselves.  With no other choice, she heads home, not exactly thrilled to be moving in with her parents.  And just when she thinks she's going nowhere...

Jason is a musician and bartender whose world revolves around his family.  Between his sister, her son, his band, and his job, he's got his hands full, but then he meets the girl with no verbal filter, who runs right out of his life just as quickly as she walked in.

At times, the characters -- Mari, especially -- seemed a bit more self-absorbed than I could really relate to, and I kind of wanted to shake her and make her realize that life pretty much never turns out the way you planned.  Then again, that was the point of the story, so maybe I was on the right ride all along.

If I’m being honest, I have to admit that one of the main reasons I picked this book up is because of the cover.  Obviously, I read a lot of romance.  I’m probably a couple of romance novels away from turning this website into a Harlequin billboard.  But 75% of the covers are of some model couple, with another 25% being some girl facing away, either walking down a road toward God knows what, or staring off into some field.  Few step out of that mold, and this is one that just stood out to me.  The shot screams “I give up,” which fits perfectly with the synopsis and the title.  Sure, it’s just a photo of a faceless girl, but it was different enough to catch my attention.

Despite my issue with fully relating to Mari's way of thinking at times, I could certainly relate to her situation.  We're told to study hard to achieve our dreams, but none of us are ever really prepared for how difficult that transition from school to career can be.  Mari is just as lost as most of us have been, and her lack of direction is utterly believable.

Jason's friendship, though, turns out to be the light at the end of the tunnel.  She's no longer alone, meeting his family and his friends, and she lands a job with his sister as a nanny.  It's not exactly the future she had planned, but it's still a good one.  Of course, Jason's not just a convenience, either, and their easy friendship soon leans toward something more -- a scenario that forces Mari to face her own insecurities and figure out what's really important.

Going Nowhere is a nice departure from a lot of the new adult romances I've read lately, avoiding the typical way-too-convenient resolution and going instead for a dose of realism.  Sure, finding such a great guy isn't always so easy, but every turn had me wondering what would happen next, just like life.  Fortunately, though the story through Mari's eyes came to an end, the series has just started, and I can't wait to see what's in store.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The plot of Going Nowhere is a great topic. Mari graduates from Grad school with no job and just an expensive degree She has to move home to stay with her parents until she can get on her feet. It’s something that I think a lot of people experience and nobody wants to move home. It feels like you are admitting defeat even though it’s actually pretty common.

Mari makes me laugh in the beginning because she feels sorry for herself and is overly dramatic about it. For some reason this endeared me to her when it probably shouldn’t. I just thought she was pretty funny and some of the stuff she did I might do if I was in the same situation. I think everyone can have their over dramatic moments especially when you are frustrated. Mari is trying to figure herself out and what she really wants to do with life. I thought her fear of relationships is interesting because it doesn’t seem to be rooted in anything besides inexperienced. It’s more like she holds herself to this high standard where it’s easier to not try at all than it is to fail. I like that Mari is flawed, she can be self-absorbed at times but it nice to not have her dancing around as little miss perfect.

I love Mari and Jason’s interaction right off the bat. Including that she keeps calling him bartender when she talks to him in the beginning. Actually they end up having all kinds of nicknames for one another it’s very cute. They start off as friends and then blossom into more. They have a lot of banter that I enjoyed. Although towards the end of the book I kind of felt frustrated with them both and how they handled things. Especially Mari, I probably would have told her to grow up and stop acting like a baby if I was her friend. Then I would tell Jason to simmer down. I have to say though it was nice that they did have some big fights where they made up by the end of the night. So it wasn’t like this couple is totally perfect and then this one things happen and it shatters everything. They were a couple you could relate to more because they do have spats.

I loved the supporting characters. I like when a book has a strong family and friend base. Trent, Blake, Declan, Lindsey (not so much I didn’t like her), Emily and Kayla. So Mari did have people to turn to when she needed to talk or someone to drag her out of bed and tell her she was being stupid. Same went for Jase, Declan was there to kind of mellow him out. I would love to hang out with Emily and Kayla because they both really rocked.

I enjoyed this book because it’s fun, romantic and light. The strong supporting cast helped invest me into the story. I wanted to hear about them just as much as the main characters. It also makes me excited for the next book which I am assuming is going to be Declan and Emily, which I freaking love those two.

What a lovely refreshing read, not to drama filled, no to angsty, not overly dramatic, not unrealistic! AWESOME start to a long weekend!!!!!

Mari is pretty much down in her luck, she has just finished 6 years at college and grad school, and has nothing to show for it. She didn't party her college years away, she didn't fall madly in love and neglect her studies. She worked hard, made some good friends and graduated. But now she finds herself without a job and no where to live, she she grudgingly returns home to her parents house to start again. She has a chance encounter with a bartender, which turns out to be the turning point in her life. She meets Jason, has a few moments of verbal diarrhea, he gives her an opportunity to work as a Nanny for his single sister, and the rest is history!!!!

Mari and Jason's relationship starts gradually, they discover they have a lot in common and it naturally grows from there. From the beginning there is a sexual tension between them, but unfortunately they both have issues in their past that neither of them deal with before they go into the relationship, and it all ends in disaster. Mari pushes Jason away because she thinks she is not in the right space to be in a relationship, seriously why? Why not look at the good things you have, before you give them away!!!!Sometimes life journey is not about aiming for what you want and expecting nothing less, sometimes life throws a big arse boulder in the way because it is meant to be there!!!!!Enter the awesome secondary characters, Emily, Jason's sister, and Mari's sister to tell them the real deal, and get them to wake up to themselves.

Mari, in the beginning frustrated me a little, in the grand scheme of things, her life was not that bad. Sure it must have been incredibly disheartening to finish college and not get a job doing what she wanted to do, hey been there and done that! Jason hooooot, a struggling musician working in a bad to make ends meet so he can make music, old tale, but none the less still hot. Mari and Jason are so fun together! they click straight away and enjoy each others company, they tease and torture each other and it is kinda cute to read!!!

So if you are after a fun old read, then give this debut author a go! Pull out the sun chair sit on the deck and give it a whirl, you will not be disappointed!!!!!

Going Nowhere - K.M. Galvin FIVE STARS

My love story with this book began at 11 o’clock last night. I was looking for more books to read (as if I don’t have enough already) and found this on Goodreads. Read the description and thought it sounded good, so I read the preview on Amazon. By the end of the excerpt I knew I was in love.

And then I continued to read. Until 3 AM when I finally had to stop and sleep but I couldn’t sleep because I was thinking how much I loved this book! I was like:

I love it love it love it

Why did I love it so? Because it was relatable. Marisol has just finished grad school, but has no job, despite all her hard work. She’s forced to move back home and find some work in the meantime. She meets Jase at the local bar where he’s bartending (very cutemeet). He gets her a job nannying for her sister and his adorable nephew Michael Scott (yes, like the Office). Despite starting off friends, the pair have such amazing chemistry and sexual tension that they quickly accept the inevitable and fall in love. But of course, Marisol has a lot of insecurities and self-doubt and Jase has a lot of fears due to his past (don’t worry, it’s not some super dark emo thing).

Thrown in the mix are some great side characters. Jase’s sister Emily was funny and sweet, as was Marisol’s sister Kayla. Jase’s friends, most notably Declan, added a lot of humor and love to the plot as well. I just want to live in this world and be friends with all the characters! Don’t even get me started on 4 year old heartthrob Mr. Mikey Scott.

This book is a perfect mixture of humor, heart, and hotness. As the last book I read in 2014, it just happens to be my favorite. Seriously, I adore this book.

This book was great! Marisol was in a situation that I think can be fairly common, not finding a job after working so hard in college and ending up living with mom and dad. She then felt disconnected from her social life, considering her college friends were able to move on with their lives and jobs. Basically, as far as she was concerned, she no longer had a life.

How Marisol and Jason met was sweet with the nicknames that came along with it, “Bartender” and “Crazy.” It was great seeing the friendships Jason introduced Marisol to. They all became tightly bonded and it was like Marisol had been a part of their group for so much longer. I liked the way Marisol and Jason’s sister, Emily, had clicked. It was like they were besties the moment they met. Emily’s son was adorable, as well. I normally become annoyed with kids, feeling they take away too much of the romance aspect, but he played into the story perfectly!

It was obvious that Jason and Marisol’s friendship would turn into a relationship with the chemistry between them. Jason was a perfect dream man, completely smitten with Marisol. Loved the steamy scenes for the most part! The detail was fantastic and always a must have in romance books. I didn’t really like how confident Marisol was with losing her virginity. I find it more intriguing to read when the girl is more insecure and not so desperate.

The drama that came about from secrets of omission and how Jason and Marisol went about dealing with it was great. I love when couples have secrets! The suspicion that grows keeps me on edge! It’s totally boring when everything is perfect once a relationship is declared. As long as there is an HEA, the more drama, the better!

This book is amazing and I fully recommend it!

Wow what an amazing read this was. This was my first read by this author and I was in for a nice surprise. Not only was this a fun and fast read, it had an amazing plot! The characters were wonderful and fully developed and the pace of the story fit right. It wasn’t too slow and it wasn’t too fast either.

We could easily relate to Mari’s struggle of doing the right thing by always studying and working hard and avoiding all the fun. However, at times Mari’s thought process does get to you. Everyone has had to struggle to where they want to be in life and life is never as we want it to be or expect it. The author does a great job of showcasing the struggles of a recent grad, who has to move back to live with her parents, no prospects of a job and a thought of whether the degree is worth it or not.

I loved the way that Marisol and Jason interacted with each other, and giving each other nicknames. Also the romance between them felt real and not too shallow and unrealistic. They had their fair share of fights and they had to come to terms with their arguments. This book is a great refreshing read that feels real and I would recommend it to anyone who loves a great romance read

Going Nowhere by K.M. Galvin is the first book in her Twenty-Something series. A happily ever after romance with a few drama filled moments throughout.
The characters are funny and endearing and the storyline has it's own unique little twists making it a refreshing and uplifting read.

Maris is a bit of a mess, Jason is the modern day white knight, and Mari gains a whole new circle of friends and support all because of a chance encounter with Jason.

Well worth the read!

AHHH! SO in love with the book. She did such a fantastic job. You could truly tell that she put her heart and soul into the words she wrote. Each and every word has a purpose, and was put in that spot for a very specific reason. I felt all the feels with this book, it is definitely going on my favorites list. You can totally not tell that this is her first book, I am so proud of her!!

If you don't picture Jase as Thomas Rhett, you are crazy.. Your welcome for those thoughts :)

This was a cute story about what life is like after college. It challenges you to find yourself and your way into the places you are meant to be. There is never a perfect equation and this book shows you how the little things in life can form something far more meaningful than the path you originally planned. It's full of sass, romance, friendship, family and becoming who you really are. This book is relate-able and adorable. Highly recommend.

Completely perfect

This book was so good! Super relatable and basically my life minus all the fun parts. I'm so reading the sequal(prequal)! Emily is great and so is Mikey(so cute!) and i'm glad I'll get to read more from these characters which I think really tells a lot about a book.

Overall it was a good book. The reason it lost 1 1/2 stars was because somewhere towards the end it felt flat to me. Jase, our hero, kept making the same mistake and Marisol, our heroine, kept forgiving him. Ater the second time I fed up with both of them.

Very good story! The interaction between Marisol and Jason is terrific and makes you want to keep reading to find out if there's a happily ever after or not!

Great read

I haven't read a book in years but my husband bought me a kindle so this is first book I choose. I chose this book because a very special young lady wrote it whom I have known her whole life. I could relate to it therefore I couldn't put it done I finished the entire book in less than 24hrs. I am looking forward to reading more of her books.

Normally when I dislike a book this much I throw in the towel. Yet this one started out interesting enough and just got worse and worse until the end when I was so happy it was over I couldn’t wait to pick up something else to distract my brain.

I think what disconnected me the most was the immaturity of the characters. Marisol acts like a tween and fights with Jason in a way reminiscent of toddlers fighting over babies. I just wanted it over with and for them to grow up. How these two will manage to stay together is beyond me. Seeing a HEA in their future is somewhat impossible

In the beginning I could relate to Marisol. I thought her situation was both interesting and stress-inducing. However the more she went on all I could visualize was a whiney brat who couldn’t be thankful for anything let alone everything she’s accomplished.

The relationship between her and Jason felt awkward at best. I didn’t feel the chemistry between these two and honestly I can’t understand what he even saw in her to begin with. When they first meet she’s nothing but rude and demeaning to him all while running her woe-is me routine.

Overall this felt more like a YA novel than NA with all the infantile behavior and cry-baby moments we have to endure. I was more than happy when it ended and was actually sad by how much worse it got the more I read. You’d think Marisol would have a lot more sense and maturity after gaining a Master’s Degree and working her butt off while in school. However this is not the case and I think if she would have been a stronger character or at least not been so selfishly focused on herself it would have turned out a lot better, at least in my eyes.

Dear Ms. Galvin,

Please hire an editor. While you write rather well, the book is a hot mess. The book lists the authors as Ad Hoc Editing and K.M. Galvin. Ad hoc means "as needed". Unfortunately that was not the case. Jarring mistakes such as paragraphs suddenly appearing in a different font, homonym issues (there vs their, who's vs whose) and apostrophes appearing in words randomly make me think that I paid for a first draft.

As for the story, Marisol needs to stop whining and feeling sorry for herself. It worked fine at the beginning, but to keep on and on and on and on ...

I do like the writing, and the story was pretty good. This book is definitely New Adult, with all the problems a 24-yo just graduating faces. But Mari began to bore me after awhile as she didn't seem to take any responsibility for her situation or try to do much about it.

And then there's the super jealousy of Jason. He just seemed so manipulative.

I hope that Galvin continues to write, but I also hope that she finds some beta readers that will give her some tough criticism to strengthen her next effort. I also hope that she takes the money from me and the others who bought the book and invest it in a professional editor's services. Otherwise, I'll only be reading the sample from her next book, and not buying it.
