The Quake is Coming

Impeccable research from a brave geologist predicts a major earthquake for the local area. Soon. Within thirty days soon. Not all his colleagues agree with his conclusions. The quake is coming? Absolutely. But three weeks? More like three years. Maybe.

A group of young men are convinced of the geologist’s calculations. They’re preparing for it. Frantically buying food and supplies for the survivors. But will there be any? Of the five thousand people in town, how many will believe their report? “Orton’s Crazies,” people call them. “Cultists” who want to sit on a hilltop and wait for the end to come.

It would be easier for the Knights not to tell anyone and simply get out of town. But then how many deaths will be on their heads? How do you convince people—family, friend, and foe alike—of a truth they don’t want to hear?

The quake is coming. What would you do about it?

Colleen was born in Iowa, but grew up in the San Franciso (CA) Bay area during the 1960s and 70s. She started her working career at 17, dropping coupons in cereal boxes on the assembly line for Kellogg's. Since then she has worked in Hospital Pharmacy, Teaching (infant Day Care through College Math,) and Accounting (payable and receivables; more fun to take money in than send it out!) She spent four years in the US Air Force working on (now long outdated) nuclear missiles. She also earned her Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources in 1984 from St. Leo's College Military Extension Program.
Colleen now lives in the Central Valley of California on a 5-acre "ranchette" owned by her sister, Sue. She lives with Sue, her mother, her other sister, Pat, two rescue dogs, one rescue pony, and one pony pony. She has two grown children, Katie and Bear. Bear is married and has her two grandchildren, Mara and Kaylynn. Colleen's story is for God's glory, always.

Another great entry in the Knights of the Octagon series. With an earthquake looming and few in the area believing the possibility, the Knights have their work cut out for them. The villains are just a bit one-dimensional and there is some repeated phrasing (straight lipped smile) that occurs often enough to be noticeable, but for entertainment value and page-turning scenes, this book is a winner. Faith messages are prominent throughout and the character relationships are outstanding. It's truly the characters who drive these books. The author does an amazing job of developing an emotional bond between her MC, other characters and the reader!

Another exciting instalment! This time, the Knights face an environmental threat, anticipating as much opposition and ridicule as Noah preparing for the great flood, they band together like never before. Naturally, things don't turn out quite as they planned, but throughout, they maintain the same strength of character, admirable camaraderie, love, and deep faith we’ve come to expect and enjoy in this series. With the perfect mix of a familiar familial dynamic and new twists, this was such an enjoyable read!

Wow!!! Each book gets better and better. So much emotion, love, faithfulness and trust. The support the Knights give each other is beautiful.
