After losing everything that was important to her, her fiancé, job and home, she is about to start her life all over again from nothing. One morning, a chance encounter seems to be changing her luck and at first it seems for the better … but is it?
Rocco Cole also knows only too well how hard life can be. After suffering a tragic accident, one which almost stole his life, his world imploded into a mess of both abuse and pain, leaving him nothing but a deeply broken man. Vowing to never trust or ever love again, could it really be possible for him to let someone in after only one meeting? Can a simple encounter change everything he ever believed about himself?
Makenzie is drawn to the chemistry between herself and Rocco, but as he continues to pull away from her, without any reason, she has to decide whether he is worth fighting for. Is she the one woman that can make him believe that he is worth something to someone? And can she be that someone? When she finally uncovers the truth, Mackenzie has to decide if she is the one who can help change the demons that live inside the man that she thinks she can so easily fall in love with.
Life is never easy, but sometimes the things you really want and need can be worth fighting for, even when you have to take a huge leap of faith and follow your heart, Into The Deep.
After being married for ten years and raising three beautiful kids I decided it was time to do something for myself. My passion for reading bled over with a need to tell the story that was repeating in my head and that was the birth of my first book. The rest they say is history.
I love the creative release that writing gives you, being able to take someone away to a different world feels amazing. As a reader I know how important that escape is, and as a writer I love to be able to give people that.
My other loves include music and reading (in case I haven't mentioned that before) and then when I have time a little more reading. I think if I could read for a living I would, but since I can't I will continue on the writing side of things.
Nice and quick read ... Love story about a broken guy and a heroine who knows what she wants ... I very much liked Makenzie, a girl who fights for her man and doesn't allow the past to come between them ... And Rocco, a hot swimmer who has his own demons ... If you want to read some light and relaxing story, this one is for you :)
Rocco and Makenzie's story is just so beautiful! He's more broken than she is, and you can't help to feel his pain. She's such a strong woman and he's just perfect. Loved their story...
This author just continues to impress me. I just wish their story was a little longer...
This was one refreshing read. In the beginning, there was one broken and sexy as hell biker/pro swimmer and one heartbroken sweet funny girl. Her ex arsehole fiancee has cheated on her and she runs for a fresh start. She meet our hero Rocco, and he has troubled past just as she does, and as much as he keep running from her she keeps chasing him down... I loved that part, finally a strong sassy heroine! They are perfect for each other. Nice, sweet and just everything that makes this kind of novel good. Read it!
Its official Tracy has hit this out of the park!! Rocco has issues, Makenzie has a take no crap attitude! It should be a match made in heaven, right? I fell completely in love with these characters and not forgetting Mason! You must read this! You'll laugh, you'll feel their pain and if your like me you'll want to smack Mason a couple of times ;)
I love reading books by new authors and what a debut this is.
My heart ached with Rocco's issues and I just loved how strong Mackenzie is, even with her own troubles... Rocco's best friend is Mason and I found myself really liking him too - luckily the next book is about him!
Okay first off I have a new book boyfriend, his name is Rocco and he is lovely. Just had to put that out there.
Into The Deep is a really good book and an amazing first novel by T.A. McKay, while reading it I would never have guessed this was her first book. The characters are interesting and engaging and I really felt for them.
Most of the book is in Makenzie's POV and I really liked her, but for me it was Rocco I felt a connection with. I myself have experienced what it's like to let other people's cruelty and mean words affect how I felt about myself, so it was nice to find that in this book and from a male perspective.
I will definitely be reading the rest of this series, especially because Mason's book is next and I loved him.
Oh, I want MORE... I could not put this book done and even burned my catfish because it was so good.... Rocco is my baby, I just wanted to hold him and chase away all his self-doubt. Makenzie was my bitch, she never gave up and went for the kill when it was time to. She stood up not only for herself doing the BS with her ex but to defend Rocco against the bitch Elle. OH, I wanted to bring the claws out myself. Dang this book was just GOOD.
Now I need Mason story, that would be interesting.
Wow...Absolutely amazing story to read, from start to finish I was gripped! I loved how, despite what Makenzie went through with carl, and with her sisters accident, she still remained a strong character. Rocco, rocco, rocco...what can I say?! I'm in love! Strong, yet a sensitive soul. Loved him. Can't wait for mason and Noah's story's now. Excellent first novel by Tracy.x
Makenzie Pierce is starting over after her fiancé announced that he is leaving her for Rose his pa who he has gotten pregnant with his child. Makenzie has no option but to start over from scratch. Things start looking up when she meets a hot guy called Rocco Cole in the park and then lands herself a job at the local swimming pool as an receptionist. There is an instant chemistry between Rocco and Makenzie but he keeps going hot and cold on her and wont tell her the reason why. Rocco is part of the swim team so Makenzie starts seeing him on a daily basis, this is where their relationship starts to develop.
Rocco is good looking with a smoking hot body but he has some issues that he finds hard to get over, his best friend Mason has to be my absolute favourite character and I am so smitten by him and can't wait for his book, I really want him to meet his match. Rocco is the more sensitive of the two but Mason is cocky and full of himself! Makenzie has a really great chemistry with Mason too but not in a sexual way. This makes her character a very likeable one. She isn't without her own demons but with the help of Rocco she tries to overcome them. I also love how she is so good for Rocco and helps him try to overcome his issues after the state his ex Elle left him in, she is the ultimate bitch.
There is lots of sexual anticipation building throughout the book so when the sex does happen its very hot. This book sucked me in from the very beginning, I couldn't stop thinking about it and the characters whenever I HAD to put it down. When I smell chlorine I now think of this lovely story.
This is a HEA book but it starts to introduce Mason & Noah's stories in it. An excellent read for the authors first book and I am certainly a big fan of her writing now.
What an amazing read!!! I highly recommend everyone picks up a copy. I bought my copy on a recommendation from a friend (thank you Kirsty!!) and well I absolutely love, love, loved it. I was hooked immediately and I couldn't put my kindle down until I finished the whole book (the battery lasted long enough for me to get to the last page hehe). The story itself was refreshing and honest and for once it was amazing to read a book where the relationship between the lead characters wasn't easy and instantaneous like most books you read, the thrill of the chase is an amazing part of any love story and Into The Deep didn't let me down. It was was a breath of fresh air to read a book where all of our everyday feelings and insecurities feature and for me it made the story so much more real and engaging. It was so wonderful to be able to identify with the emotions in this book and the way everything unfolds, I know I said it before but the honesty in the words, emotions and description really made it easy for me to keep reading. You really do feel at one with the characters and that's a testament to Tracy's writing skills and her complete ability to draw you in to her world. I love all 3 of the lead characters, Makenzie feels as if she could be your best friend, she is down to earth and wants what all women want love, happiness and an easy life. Rocco is well hes hot!! But theres a side to him that just makes you want to scoop him up and take him.... and well never let him leave ;) and Mason is just amazing and so funny (and also hot hehe)!! Tracey your writing and story telling is phenomenal and I look forward to reading more of your books in the future!! Thank you for writing an amazing book and for letting us as readers into your world and most importantly thank you for introducing us to Makenzie, Rocco and Mason :)
I have to say I really loved this story for your first book you did an amazing job. Lets start off with Mckenzie she is beautiful and this girl has been through the ringer. She has been through a bad break up and started her life over. With no support I honestly felt so bad for her and wanted to hug her through out the book. And just tell her your strong girl. But sometimes she could not see things for what they were. Now hymmmm Rocco love the strength this man had. He was amazing in everyway. I hate his ex for all the bitch she is. And hate the damage that she inflicted on him. But can you say romantic omg you just don't understand how sweet and caring he was. And he just thought he was not good enough for anyone. I also wanted to hug him and say its not true Rocco you are stronger for what you went through. And came back a better man. These two together go through a beautiful journey of trying to find there way back from the hell they have been through so read the book. And give this new author a chance I think you will find you will love the story just like me. I am so excited T.A.Mcay for more books from you. So proud you made your dreams come true. Love you lady and maybe oneday I will get to meet you. Keep writing cause you did a fantastic job. <3
The story of Mackenzie had me hooked from the first page when we jump straight into her turmoil of a cheating ex and her picking up the pieces and starting her life elsewhere on her own. But it's not long before she's starting her new life, with a new job, new friendships and new feelings for someone new.
With Mackenzies fear of water, her new job seems to keep her close to the stranger she met. Rocco. Oh, Rocco. What a man.
He's beautifully damaged. Or so he's been told and believes. He runs from anything good because he believe he's not worthy. ---------------- Excerpt: "I thought it was the men who are meant to do all the chasing?
Then chase me Rocco. I promise not to run, I'll let you catch me..." --------------
But can Mackenzie make him find happiness again? Make him believe there is more for him and let her in?
---------------- Excerpt: "His past had shaped him, but it didn't define him." ------------------
A truly brilliant read and truly hot...the friendship between Rocco and Mason is heartwarming and he's the brother he never had. I'm excited to read the second book in T A Mckays series 'Into the Dark' when we get a better glimpse into Mason and his hilarious ways.
I’m not sure where to start, but it feels right to go with I LOVED THIS BOOK.
From the very beginning, I absolutely loved McKenzie! There was nothing about her I hated – I mean nothing! McKay made that impossible. She was a strong, forthright lead and remained very much herself throughout. She never caved and conformed. She was loveable and relatable and that’s one of the main things I love about the book.
Rocco – beautifully broken, but never weak. That’s all I could think throughout the book. His story brought me to tears, but I loved how he trusted McKenzie enough and loved her regardless. He’s more than just a hot new book boyfriend. He has depth to him and that’s something I love and admire about this book.
It’s a quick read, but not disappointing in the slightest! I wish it hadn’t ended, I wanted more of this couple, paired with Rocco’s best friend, Mason. But he’s saved for another book that I am so excited for!
This is a book I will be reading again. Even when the rest of series come out, I know that will be one of my go to books. I’m excited to see if the entire book series has me like this.
Thank you TA McKay for writing such an amazing debut novel.
I don't normally buy books that are any less than 250-300 pages, but I am so glad I bought this one!
This is one book that makes you laugh, makes you cry & frustrates you to the point that when the characters get it right you cheer right along side them.
For your first book you have hit the nail on the head!! I loved this book so much I could not put it down till I finished it.
I don't want to say too much & spoil it for everyone else, but wow, Mackenzie & Rocco have such chemistry that it keeps you on edge the whole way through the book & if ever there was a book boyfriend you want to take home & protect from the world it is definitely Rocco! That he is sexy as sin doesn't hurt either :)
The detail in the descriptions of people & scenes in this book made it very easy to imagine I was standing in the room watching it all unfold!
As I said, for a first time Author you have released an exceptional book and I absolutely adored Rocco & Mackenzie's journey.
This one was a bit of a conundrum for me and I think if I give my honest opinion it might come across too harsh and maybe a bit insensitive?? I mean the book was bad by any means, despite the grammatical errors here and there, it was well written. I really liked Makenzie, she was strong, opinionated, stubborn, didn't back down from what she wanted but she wasn't a cow with it. It came across really well. She owned it. I liked Mason, he was funny as well. Rocco... well here is where I think my problem lies. There was a total role reversal for me with this book that I really didn't like. Being the type of girl that I am, I think I struggled with Mak doing all of the chasing. I mean really struggled with it. She did the chasing till like about 90 odd percent way trough the book. She like took one step forward with Rocco and then two back. The Elle chick didn't get what she deserved either.
I don't know... I'm just gonna leave well enough alone and rate it 2 stars.
Can two 'broken' souls heal each other or just make things worse?
This story is different in many ways to others in its 'genre'. The writing style is perfect to both the story and characters. The humour throughout is fantastic and a much needed break from the dark and angsty books (FYI I do enjoy those to but refreshing to have a break now and then).
Rocco is such a beautiful man inside and out but he has a dark past that still haunts him. I love this man but dear lord did he infuriate me, that is until you know his reasons.
Makenzie has been dealt a pretty tough hand of things. She too has a past and not so distant past that haunt her but she is amazingly strong.
Mason is HILARIOUS! He had me chuckling quite a bit, causing my other half to think I had finally lost my marbles.
Matt may just be the boss we all hope to find.
This review will remain spoiler free and end here.
Can lust cure and can love conquer?.........you will have to read to find out.
Makenzie and Rocco have an instant lust for each other but both have been broken in the past. This book leads us into the characters wanting to know more. Can they be fixed?
Makenzie has moved on after being poo pooed upon by her ex. She has a new life in a new town. A new job and a new interest in the name of Rocco.
Rocco wants to be in control of his future but someone in his past is holding him back from a future that he wants with Makenzie.
Mason is Roccos best mate and although not commited to commitment, he is however commited to seeing his best mate have a bright future.
A fantastic light read, but not so light as you don't want more.
I really enjoyed Rocco and Mackenzie's book and the only reason that it gets 4 instead of 5 stars is because I felt like it needed a little more story. I felt like there was closure for Mackenzie with Carl but none for Rocco with Elle. I really wanted him to show Elle (at the party) that he was a worthy man, regardless of what she said, and not let her push him to run from Mackenzie again. It broke my heart that he left once more. I really need to see karma kick Elle's ass! I did do a happy dance when Mackenzie slapped her but I wish Mason had turned her loose for just 5 more minutes..lol. I'm looking forward to the next book so I can see what other kind of trouble Mason can get into....

I couldn't find a single fault in this remarkable story! I was hooked from the start! The writing is one that captures and ensnares you straight into the book without second thought!
They both have a sordid past, Rocco Coles and Makenzie Pierce. One worse then the other, but a past and baggage none the less. It's heartfelt story, it will make your heart go out to these fictional characters, like they were real people. Obviously, Rocco is a hot Alpha male but he is the shell of a man that he used to be. With Mackenzie Pierce around the scene do you think he come back back from where his life has headed?
Wow what a great read....the first of the Into series and what a way to start...... Rocco....beautiful but broken...sensitive....loving....insecure Makenzie...strong...beautiful...determined and never weak Separately they were good but together they were phenomenal and I rooted for them all the way through. Great secondary characters such as Mason...his story to come...some not so good....Elle Grrrr This was a story to which many will relate...touching on a very emotive subject...allowing us to see the 'other side' A great first book, exceptionally well written, well edited too Well done and I cannot wait for more....bring it on
I love the story behind Rocco and that Mackenzie was willing to fight for him even after what she went through. Once I found out what had happened to him to make him the way he was, my heart went out to him and the evil side of me wanted to hurt his ex. I love how the characters were finally able to see what was right in front of them and get their happily ever after!!!! Great job T.A. McKay.
I couldn't put this book down!! The characters were compelling, the plot captivating and the emotions real and tangible.
I quite enjoyed the details included which really helped me to get fully engaged in the story and just love the characters! It didn't hurt that Mason had a WRX!! :D
Overall, a very sweet story which I'm sure to read again! Looking forward to the next installment!
I enjoyed this ready but I must say his reason for being 'broken' was just not the drama I was hoping for. For him to run as often as he did, I was thinking it was something a bit juicier or darker but other than that, I really enjoyed this book. I am looking forward to reading Mason's story. He is just a loveable character!
I REALLY really liked the storyline but there were so many editing mistakes that started driving me nuts, so I had to give it 4 stars instead of 5.
I really like how strong of a character Makenzie is. I love how she is with Rocco. I completely understood why Rocco was the way he was and I'm glad he and Makenzie met! (I hate being si vague but I hate giving out spoilers more!)
Into the Deep is such a beautiful love story of two imperfectly perfect people. All I can say is "wow". I was blown away!
T.A. McKay did such a wonderful job telling their story. She held my attention from the very start. I could NOT put this book down; I will definitely be reading again and again. Oh, and I'm totally smitten with Rocco. <3
I loved this book, even though Rocco frustrated the hell out of me, with all his running, after learning what his issues were, my heart broke for him. I just wanted to take in into my arms and cuddle him to safety.
It was a great debut, and I cannot wait to read Mason story :)
