In the charming coastal town of Sandy Harbor, Valentine’s Day is a time for love, chocolates, and... murder? Allie Blanchard, renowned for her delectable desserts, is thrilled when a local bed and breakfast owner enlists her help to add a touch of sweetness to the romantic holiday. But the festivities take a dark turn when one of the guests, a solitary visitor without a romantic partner, is found dead under mysterious circumstances.
Alongside her faithful sidekick, Lucy Gray, Allie untangles a web of secrets and lies. From hidden pasts to secret agendas, every suspect has something to hide. As Allie and Lucy delve deeper, they discover that love can not only be blind but deadly.
Navigating through a maze of Valentine’s Day treats and suspicious alibis, Allie must use her intuition and sleuthing skills to uncover the truth. Will she be able to solve the mystery before the killer strikes again, or will this Valentine’s Day end with a bitter aftertaste?
I wasn’t ever completely sure whodunit since the author does a great job distracting with various suspects and reasons, but the showdown was really sweet justice and a safe one as well. Hard to believe Allie’s little granddaughter’s a year old, that was a cute little side story especially when Alec seemed to have the special granddad touch of getting the baby to go to sleep lol. Good thing she’s got no idea of some of the stuff her Mimi and Aunt Lucy get into lol.
