It started as a forced marriage to an enemy billionaire prince. Now I’m carrying this royal pain’s twins. The deal was one year to produce an heir and then I’m free. But when Prince Grumpy and his elephants crash in, it’s more than just a contract. It’s a royal soap opera starring me and a man old enough to be my father. Right after we met, he claimed my v-card.
With our duties checked off, I find myself falling for more than just his majestic elephant trunk. Those blue eyes and dominant vibes have me on my knees begging for a release. But just as soon as he arrives, he’s gone. . . saying it’s to protect us.
With our contract winding down, I want him to choose us over his wealth and freedom. I can only hope for this fairy tale to come true, especially now that I’m pregnant with his twins.
This is my first book by this author, and I can say it was very interesting kept me on the edge of my seat trying to read faster just to see how it all ends 😊 hang on it is one wild ride for sure. Leland a sexy as all get out prince doing well on his own having lived most of his life without knowing his father but he did know he wasn’t a good man due to his bad dealings he is now forced to leave his homeland with the people he love, the elephants he love and into an marriage he knew nothing about to a women he has never met way to young for him to marrying. Catriano is a sweetheart princess of the island of IIdogis has been groomed, told she would be marrying the son the oldest son Andrew from the time she was born , come to find out he lied about Andrew being his oldest son because is being forced to marry his oldest son someone way too old for her, and she isn’t sure what to think, what/how to feel besides anger at both their father’s especially when the Prince didn’t want the marriage any more than she did, throw in all the custom of riding the elephant the right way for the wedding, add to that the spice of someone trying to get rid of them because of their fathers, learning to work together as one isn’t easy especially when their attraction is intense between them, both expecting nothing from their arranged marriage but getting so much more, but will they find who is after them, and find happiness somewhere along the way through all the craziness?
Thanks to his father's greed, Leland is desperately trying to evacuate his people from their compound from an invasion, including the many protected animals as well as his elephant family. But where will they go? His half brother, Andrew, lets him know that as the eldest, there is a possible solution for all of them. As Prince, he assures the rest of their people that they have a possible solution and they will all be ok. Princess Catriona helps ready the island for the new arrivals on her 18th birthday. The first to arrive is a beautiful bull elephant named Indlovu, whose mate and baby will arrive the next day. He is accompanied by Prince Leland. There is a traditional welcome as the barge docks. Princess Catriona meets Leland as his elephant carries him up the street and stops in front of her. The elephant gently helps her up to sit with him. They arrive at the paddock built for the elephants and settle the massive bull inside. They dismount and the elephant gleefully heads to the pile of food left for him. They are all introduced to some interesting customs as they are welcomed. The next day, Catriona rises early to do her regular duties. Once done and with a picnic, she and Leland leave to explore the Island stopping at the hot springs. They continue to get closer as Catriona shows him around his new home. As they are relaxing and getting to know each other, they are alerted that there is company on the way. Leland's family, the part he never knew about, have arrived. They have a meal together then head into the study for a private conversation, not good news. Leland and Andrew are apparently wanted for some very serious crimes! Richard has his legal team on it but they all have to go into hiding as quickly as possible! On an Island? Wait until you see the adventure they experience trying to get to a safe place until things are settled with the charges! Someone is trying hard to get rid of Leland and Andrew and they are not holding anything back! I love how the trek to freedom was so well mapped out by the author and how they manage to work through everything....I especially loved the ending! Well done Vivy Skys! Cannot wait for the next book! Susan C.
I was immediately drawn into the story by the unusual beginning. Leland is the prince of Mountain Hold, a small country that is invaded by a larger neighboring country, and the prince has to evacuate his people and animals to aircraft carriers until they can find a place to go. Leland’s newfound half-brother, Andrew, helps with the evacuation and tells him about a marriage contract that was signed between their father and the grandfather of the princess of Ildogis. Leland, as the oldest son, is therefore engaged to Catriona, the princess of the island near the Hebrides. Ildogis needs a new gene pool to continue growth, so the marriage seems to be a good solution for both countries. The people of Mountain Hold go with the prince to Ildogis, as well as Leland’s white elephant, Lord Ildovu and his herd, The elephant and Leland have an unusual relationship since they were raised together from a young age. The other animals are sent to various zoos throughout the US. Leland and Catriona are strangers when they marry and have to work through many cultural, political, and language differences.
It is a long book with a complicated plot and a long list of characters, but definitely worth the time. My favorite supporting characters were Leland’s brother Richard, a brilliant man with many advanced scientific inventions, and Lord Ildovu and his wife Lady Tembo. My only concern about the book is that I found four book descriptions for it: one on Amazon, one on Goodreads, as well as an alternate description and cover on Goodreads, and one on BookBub. The descriptions are all different, and not all together correct. Leland is a tall, thin man with green eyes and he is not grumpy or dominate. Their countries were not enemies. Leland does not leave Catriona to protect her, rather they stay together and work together to save the people and animals of the two countries. The ages of the Lane brothers are not disclosed, but from hints in the book, he is not old enough to be her father. Otherwise, it is a great book that I would definitely recommend!
This book was so cringy and not in a good way. She called his penis his equipment and described her nipples as crinkly. And that’s the tolerable parts…. Felt like it was written by an environmental activist who is the CEO of PETA that’s also a virgin who doesn’t know how sex works and is scared of the words cock and pussy.
Also they were never enemies, and I had no idea it was an age gap until I read that in the title after reading the book (although it gets brought up briefly). He honestly acted younger than she did. Even the surprise pregnancy part is ruined cause the author skips over basically all of it.
Just weird. The whole book. Super cringe. I felt embarrassed to even be reading it.
This book is about beginnings, endings, fear, sadness, family and love. This author has captured all these feelings with an emotionally fulfilling story of young love and duty. The story line is simple and one you have seen before but the character development will make this seem so fresh and new that you cannot put it down. The H/h are likeable and you will be rooting for them to find their happily ever after. A story written of new love and existing loves among the world at war so well done that you do not want it to end. The characters truly drew me in. This is a book that should be read and not missed.
I dnf'd the book when it went into the family reunion. I just couldn't put myself through any more torture. This book had a good base and a different spin than your usual arranged marriage, but it was all over the place. Oh , and don't get me started on 200 different characters. How can one keep up with so many when their was hardly any back story. Then, all the random, wonderful gifts that keep popping up to save the day in the cold winter. It was just over the top and something my 13 year old could have written better.
Wow! Such an intriguing story of a betrothal made long ago. Leland was the prince of mountain hold and had been unknowingly betrothed to a princess named Catriona from a small island. Leland’s island was under attack and they managed to get the people and the animals off the island onto an aircraft carrier. Catriona’s people welcomed them all. The marriage was sealed and they went through a lot,Andrew Leland’s younger helped them and they ended up even more in love, this story is wonderful!
This is the story of two families from two small countries, who arranger a marriage between their children. This is a well written story which is an enemies / lovers, forced marriage, age gap, humor, witty banter, danger, suspense, intrigue, and love, which leads to an entertaining, twisted, unpredictable, a captivating page turner. The the start of this story had me thinking about when it takes place, where are they, and what will these people have to endure. I felt saddened when the elders chose to protect their people with their selflessness. Catriona and Leland are honorable, selfless, dignified, and good people. This book took me on journey through time and history. My emotions were in tune with the characters as they made a new world for their people. I appreciated the inclusion of a love story to add dimension and depth to the story. This is a fantastic read.
This Booksprout ARC is a must read. My review includes my thoughts and feelings.
Leland lives in fear because of his people and to save his animals from war. So he took them away while they re are going in another country his brother told him that because he is the first born he wants to marry a princess,to save his people he didn’t refuse. When he met her for the first time he saw her not bad at the first night of their wedding it was fun because it was first for both of them.
This book is fun to read it takes you into an interesting adventure.
What Catriona expected was an arranged marriage, but the groom was not who she thought she would be wed to. From the moment they met Leland and Catriona were thrust into a situation that was complicated and filled with danger. This was an adventurous story with twists, turns and suspense.

I was happily intrigued by this story because it was such a departure from the first book. The story was woven around a lost sibling and a distant island country where a princess must meet and marry a stranger from another country who is fleeing a military takeover. The creativity of the storyline was mesmerizing.
This was such a great story! Leland and Catriona were arranged to be married but Leland was fleeing his war-torn small country. So much unrest followed him to his new home, and this story followed their path as they worked through their new marriage. I really enjoyed it!.

I had a hard time reading this book. I couldn't figure out what decade they were in. Until his family came to help from America. I read some of their stories. The travel trail portion of the book was too long.
This was an exceptional book that was very well written, it covered so many aspects of life, cultures, customs and caring. truly loved this book and will be looking forward to reading more by this author Vivy Skys
Totally different from books 1 and 2. I was surprised with this story and it took me awhile to really get into it. Once I got into the story it was enjoyable. I enjoy Vivy Skys books.
This one simply did not hold my interest. I skipped a lot just because it was meticulously boring. There were a few good parts, especially the interactions between Leland and Caitrina.
Great characters. Lots of action and excitement. An arranged marriage to a hidden island princess A prince agreeing because it will give his people a new home. The elephants play a starring roll.Happy ever after
This was an interesting book because of the customs of the imaginery countries. I’ve read better by this author. But I did like it. It was a bit slow but n the middle but picked up again.
Ethics book is the most boring book I've ever rea d. I read about t chapters to see if it got better, it didn't. I scrolled forward almost til the end and I finally gave up
This was my first read from this author. I really liked it Leland and Catriona’s romance was full spice along with good adventure. Ending with a nice HEA.
Odd book, but I did like it. I feel like I missed some back story. I sort of want to read the next one, but I prefer audio books. The audio is AI and not great.
Really a 3.5, computerized narration so some mispronounced words. And the blurb was sort of misleading. Don't think I'd reread (which is my litness test of a book) but it was o.k.
DNF at 5%. Started this on vacation and was meh about it. Picked something else up and haven’t picked it back up. Tried again today and Im just gonna pass on this one.
