Another fantastic Dalton Savage mystery.

An archeological dig, a secret society, and the mob makes for a great mystery that tests Dalton's skills.  So many twists and turns make this one difficult to put down!

Just when you thought that this series couldn't get any better along comes Crimson Moon.
A loud scream tears Dalton Savage away from a much needed break with his family at the Spring Equinox Festival. Dalton was the sheriff at Hawks Landing and the sight that greeted hi wasn't a pretty one, a stranger to town lay dead in the street, murdered in the most gruesome way but what had cause the curious injuries ?
Becca, Dalton's long suffering partner knows that this means that she and their young son Connor are going to be facing long nights alone once more, little did Becca know how this murder would affect her life.
This book has two stories running parallel, one, the murder of the stranger and two, the theft from the museum of ancient items held sacred to the people of the close by native reservation, could they be related, if so how and why ? throw in a mystical ancient legend and you have the makings of a great story.
Dalton Savage is one of my favourite law enforcers, he isn't the all singing ,all dancing, cape wearing hero, he is a down to earth cop who has headaches, who fears for his family, is torn between his love for his wife and son and his loyalty to the job that he knows that he is good at, protecting the people of Hawk's Landing.
This is a story to immerse yourself in, the anger of the people who will fight anyone to save their town, the fear of Dalton when he realises just who he is up against is palpable, this is a story that has you gripped from the first page and it is very difficult to put down, I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

A real mind twister! I quite enjoyed the intricate collection of possibilities of who the murderer &/or who the accomplices could be (if any). The many twists made it impossible to figure out, especially when some facts were kept in Dalton Savage’s own thoughts, leaving the reader to come up with several ideas of their own. I found it a bit confusing with who was who, and so many names of people that could be considered as guilty, but all in all, a very good story which becomes very clear in the end. I liked the mystical part of the Guardian Bear on the full Blood Moon, as the story was told by an elder. Legends to me always create questions and interesting thoughts, especially at times when there doesn’t seem to be any other answers. The ending to this story is exceptional. 5 stars

Dalton Savage #5, Crimson Moon, is my favorite book in the series, (at least so far, there’s another coming in 2025). It has enough characters to keep the reader guessing about who is/are committing crimes. Still, it’s easy to remember who each character is. It has enough going on to add to the puzzle of what is actually happening. It seems, to me, to include some timely topics. Plus, the ending was satisfying. I recommend Crimson Moon.

I received this book as an Advanced Reader Copy. Unfortunately, I am a little behind in offering a review, I apologize to the readers and authors. The delay and the free read in no way contributes to my positive review. I genuinely enjoyed reading this book.

Crimson Moon by Biba Pearce is book 5 in the Dalton Savage series. Dalton is the Sheriff in Hawk’s Landing in Colorado. Dalton and Becca, with their 7 month old son Connor, are attending the Equinox Festival. Stanley Soaring Eagle, an elder and important figure in the local Ute Native American community, imparts a foreboding message. A man is then found dead and a legend is called in to play. An intriguing story and loved this mythical aspect of the story. Dalton is torn about his job as the Sheriff and this feeling comes through the story very clearly as does a sense of intrigue as Dalton follows the evidence in unexpected directions. It was hard to put the book down – just one more page.

Always Savage!

I enjoy this series so much! Dalton and his team never fail to not only solve the case but the action and 'whodunit' keeps me reading until the wee hours!
My only issue is the editing! The books are entirely too good for such poor editing. In this book, there was a chapter actually titled 'untitled' that was grammatically and sequentially WRONG! As a fan I implore the authors to get a good editor prior to releasing to us. We want to stay invested in your stories.

An attempt by our hero Sheriff Dalton Savage to enjoy some quiet family time ends abruptly when a body is discovered at the local Spring Equinox Festival.

Without giving away too much, I can best sum up the book with a line from the end of Chapter 29.

'It wasn't just about solving a murder anymore. It was about keeping his family alive.'

Fully recommend.

Suspenseful, intriguing mystery!

Another great Dalton Savage thriller! So many plots and happenings going on; it is difficult for Dalton Savage to sift through and unravel everything. L.T. Ryan and Biba Pearce write an unputdownable book and keep the reader guessing who the guilty person is. If you enjoyed Dalton Savage's other books, you will definitely like this book. Happy reading! ☺️

This was another outstanding chapter in the Sherrif Savage and the town of Hawks Landing. Unfortunately it brought a wall between Becca and Dalton. He didn't know her secrets. It came back to haunt her. But in the end it all worked out. Caruso is getting put away by his brother testimony. So Dalton can relax that Becca and Connor are safe. 10 🌟 plus!!!! Thanks Carl Clause 1

A mysterious killing during a town festival seems to tie into a local native legend. It's up to Dalton Savage to unravel the complex twist of possibilities. The books in this series are totally addictive. I'm hooked on the entire cast of characters, and the depth their lives are depicted in. They have become book friends over the course of five delightfully complex thrillers.

Sheriff Savage gets involved when a landowner runs off a stranger who is a potential buyer who also happens to know who the sheriff’s wife is. At the same time, historical artifacts are found on the local Indian reservation which, as it turns out, the stranger is also interested in. This takes us on an awesome journey of murder, mystery, intrigue and family secrets unveiled. A must read !

The Guardian Bear!!

Dalton Savage has a murder on his hands and there are several different plots in the story. How these plots intertwine made this book very interesting and kept my attention. How it all works out in the end was surprising. Definitely a good read and one you shouldn't miss.

I really enjoy the Dalton Savage series, but this book didn't hold my interest as much as the others.

I know this will probably be controversial, but I think Becca has got to go. She constantly complains about Dalton's job -- a job she was well aware of before she got involved with him. Now she's keeping secrets. He deserves better (Hatch!!).

The Dalton Savage series has been an excellent story. This book was no exception. The author continues to produce exciting stories with these excellent characters.

This book had twists and multiple storylines going on all at the same time. The characters are deep to the point you can almost visualize them.

I enjoyed this book a lot.

many gaps in this book

I have read all of this series up to date. There are discrepancies throughout the book. The biggest one relates to Becca introducing herself to Romano at the hotel. She calls herself Becca even though that is not the name Romano knew she under. It’s almost like someone else wrote this volume in the series

This is another riveting crime thriller, one that’s extremely hard to put down. I was engrossed from the first word to the very last, couldn’t get enough. What’s the subject going to be in the next one I wonder. Cannot wait to find out. Highly recommended.

rather tame I felt

This was not his normal standard somehow
I feel as if I’m still waiting for the story to get going 🤷‍♀️
I’ve been a fan of this author and as I said it’s not his normal standard. Still enjoyed it though.

The intensity of this series increases with each new book. Love how Savage is attempting to keep the reins on his town, despite all of the outside and internal discord. Hopefully he and Becca will get more in sync. Anxiously awaiting book #6!

Crimson Moon

Savage caught Becca in a lie and by discovering why gave him an insight into what was happening. Between finding a murderer and dealing with the mob an old Indian tale comes true for him.

Sheriff Dalton Savage finds himself entwined in a murder, a Tribal legend, an archeological dig, and land grabs. A good mystery where Dalton Savage must not only solve murders but protect his family from the mob after he uncovers a secret involving his wife's past.

Another Good Book

I normally don’t like to write a review, but sometimes it helps to get a point across. This is book 5 of the series and I’ve enjoyed each book. If you get into reading the first one it doesn’t take long to finish them. ENJOY!

Cri.son moon

Another excellent story in the Dalton Savage, series. This time Dalton faces the,Caruso and then tracked down some killers. Again, telling to much about the story would allow the readers to think that there was but one ending.

Savage is faced with the protection of Becca and his son while keeping his town on firm footing during a significant uptick in crime. Savage and his team at are their best. These are first-rate characters in a first-class novel. A book you will take pleasure in from beginning to end.
