Complete the trials, secure the crown—or lose the realm of Embermere to its wicked queen forever.
I survived the savage brutality of the Wilds and its vicious monsters only to find myself in more danger than ever before. Despite the queen’s continued attempts against my life, the ancient magic of the Fae Heir Trials forces me to continue competing in its deadly challenges. The prize of the next trial? To marry Drake Rush Vega—my mate.
The ladies of court I’ll be competing against to win the honor that belongs only to me merely pretend to be civilized. Beneath all their careful etiquette and artifice, they are conniving and calculating. As lethal as the beasts of the Wilds—and as ready to use their sharp teeth and claws.
While I’m forced to play in her games, the queen only grows stronger. She’s sworn to protect the fae, to revere the dragons, to look out for them above all others.
She’s betrayed them all.
I alone hold the secret to her defeat. But I’m as afraid of the power within me as she is. It’s as likely to kill me as help me, to ruin Embermere as fix it.
To save the fae and the dragons—to save everything I love—I must master the power too great for any one person to wield.
I might have arrived in Embermere kicking and screaming, but now I’m not leaving until I’ve secured what belongs to me.
The crown and Rush are mine.
* This novel is slow-burn fantasy romance with lots of adventurous action, along with some graphic violence and sexual scenarios. Fae Crown is the fourth book in the Royals of Embermere series. Its books are best read in order as the storyline continues until the final book in the series, which will conclude with a happily-ever-after.

Contains spoilers. I have been looking forward to this book, but sadly I couldn’t get through it without skimming through to the end. I love a good villain, but IMO the author just went way too far. I made it up to a truly horrifying scene of SA that goes on and on and on for pages and pages and I was done. I have never read a r**e scene that lasted chapters and while I have never considered myself a sensitive person, I was physically ill. A fade to black followed by the emotional fall out would have been somewhat of an improvement, but still wholly unnecessary in fleshing out the villain’s arc of malice. At this point, this series has devolved into torture p*rn and gone on for too long.
I read this genre for escapism and romance, but I found myself dreading returning to this awful place each evening as I did my nightly reading. It doesn’t need to be puppies and rainbows all the time for a good read, but the occasional glimmer of hope or small triumph is vital. This is just pure misery.
If you are invested in this story, you could probably skip this one and wait for the last book. It’s simply more of the same - the queen tortures everyone.
This book is dark, gritty, fast-paced, and much more. I cannot help but applaud Lucia Ashta for her genius. This queen must die and is a character easy to hate. Elowyn, Rush and gang all make you root for them. This series is a must have if you want immersive world building and character development.
This book was a mess. It felt so convoluted and confusing. Massive trigger warnings and spoilers ahead. But Jesus wept the scene with rush and the queen made me incredibly uncomfortable. We literally read from his drugged point of view him being SA. It just made me very squeamish and unsettled I had a Terrible time continuing the story following that. I’m not sure if I’m going to read the next book tbh

Fair warning there are triggers for humiliation from nudity & fondling. Plus Rush is forced to "entertain" the queen & the contestants of the trials. And it goes too far! The only reason I am giving it all the stars is because itFair shows how sick & twisted the power hungry queen is. It boarders on a bully romance type of feel except this bully isn't falling in love with anyone but herself. This queen is by far the worst villain I have ever read. And that is saying a lot because I read non-stop since I don't work. Rush & Elowyn have a beautiful 24 hours together after she learns what a mate is. I honestly was fed up with no one explaining it to her. Of course, the queen finds out somehow. And she orders Rush to come to her bedroom the next night. Right before the night of love making with Elowyn the queen portaled Elowyn to the palace from the Wilds. And then declared the next phase of the trials to start. Sorry I should have started that a sentence or two ago. Rush insisted he could sacrifice & spend the night with the queen for his mate & Larissa's sake. Elowyn protests. In the end she gets her wish. But be careful what you wish for. Watching the whole debacle is painful to Elowyn. What's worse is the fact that Rush doesn't know who she is. She ends up helping Rush stomach what the queen wants. The second trial the queen tries to kill Elowyn again. By some miracle she portals to help. But she is at deaths door & losing a lot of blood. She is cared for & nursed back to health. She also discovers someone who is supposed to be dead. It takes her well over a month to heal & even then she is barely walking. Wouldn't you know it the queen finds her right after she is reunited with West, Ryder, & Hiro. Then Saffron, Reed, Roan, & X (as she calls him) show up. The only way Elowyn can think to save everyone is to portal them to somewhere on the map. This map mysteriously appeared when Rush & Elowyn were making love. And then shortly after Rush copied it it disappeared. Could it contain the answers they need to where the queen gets her power? There is a big cliffhanger at the end. It's the second shocking discovery Elowyn finds. I can't wait for the next book to find out what happens when Rush & Elowyn reunite. And how Rush & Larissa escape the palace. Will they be able to raise an army to help stop the queen? I loved granddoodey & Zafi they really add to the story!
This book was flat out disgusting. Warning- spoilers. Non consensual sex and pleasure circles. Honestly Lucia Ashta, this is messed up. The storyline jumped so much. And then deciding to incorporate rape culture. Disgusting. Suddenly we see that Elowyn has all of this power just by asking the land, why could she not just decide to call on the land to kill the queen whenever she faced her. And then suddenly Elowyn keeps transporting to places and then her mother is alive. See how jumpy and disorganised my review is, this is what the book is like. I’ve enjoyed this series until this book. Also Lucia, your trigger warning, was terrible.

So, this book has some very disturbing scenes in it. It’s still well written and engaging, but I didn’t think the evil Queen’s machinations could get any worse, but they do. Fair warning, there is explicit sexual coercion and abuse in book 4. Not something I really like to read about and I cried right along with the main characters as they go through the horrors places upon them. Elowyn almost dies to the point that it will take some time for her to be in good physical shape to fight and Rush is taken away from her by taking away his memories of his relationship with Elowyn. For a time Rush has no idea who she is or what she means to him. Eventually, the spell that was cast against him lifts and he remembers just in time to escape from the queen with his younger sister in tow. It ends on another cliffhanger just when Elowyn and her 2 new companions, Pru’s granddoody and Safi, flee from the queen to the woods and meet Rush’s friends and Elowyn’s former companions Xeno, Pru, etc. Just as they take in each other the Queen shows up but Elowyn pulls a fast one, links up with Rush, and transports them away from danger. The last part was a lot all shoved into a quick chapter. I am looking forward to see Rush and Elowyn reunite and with their companions and take finally down the evil queen in book 5.

LOTS of feelings after this one 😭 To be completely transparent, the reason this wasn’t a 5/5 ⭐️ for me was due to the SA scenes that took up a large part of the storyline. There was a trigger warning listed, but it never explicitly said “rape,” just a form of SA, so when I came to that part of the book, I was severely triggered due to the graphic nature of the scenes. I just felt like they were dragged out to the point of discomfort and that, in spite of the warning, I still was not prepared. I share this first so that others looking to read this installment are well-prepared…⚠️
After I moved past my experience with the triggers in this book, I was completely enthralled with the storyline and the unraveling of Elowyn’s powers, family dynamics, and the reveal of her mother. Her desire for Rush to be supported in some of the worst moments of his life (IN SPITE of his memory loss) were truly remarkable and clearly reflected her character development.
But, let’s be real, THAT ENDING 🤯 I am SHOCKED that Rush’s sister (and West’s mate) is alive because that is DEFINITELY not on my radar in the slightest. Now, I’m just very IMPATIENTLY waiting for the final installment to be released in a few weeks on the 1st of January 2025 🗓️

In the beginning, I thought this book with the Fae trials would follow the same old formula, but I was in for a surprise. Elowyn is no shrinking violet, and being thrust into the world of excess, royals, and an evil queen was not how she envisioned her life. She made more enemies than friends and fought for the right to survive. The friendships that she makes with the goblins, dragons, and other magical creatures show her that she is not alone in this battle. She finds her mate, Rush, which is a surprise to both of them despite the Queen trying to kill Elowyn every chance she gets. This story reminds me a little of the hunger games with all it pagentry and death, the contestants playing a game where the deck is stacked against them and the Queen is the only one who determines who lives or dies. All that hubris may be her downfall if she is not careful. I am on team Elowyn, hoping for an epic death for the evil queen as that is what she deserves.
book 1-3 great (5 stars). I could not stomach this book
Spoiler book 2
I’m surprised at how much I really truly enjoyed these books. I’m surprised because it’s been a while since I’ve dove into something that I liked to this extent. The writing is sarcastically hilarious, the FMC stays true to herself despite other aspects of her character trying to pull her in different directions.
At 18% through the second book – I’m slightly confused on the world building, I’m still unclear on what exactlythe mirror world is. But at this point, I feel like it’s OK because the FMC is also still learning. Maybe there is a point to that
Fast forward to book 4 review.
This series could’ve been wrapped up within three books. There were so many things that I loved from the first three books. I can’t imagine how it took the turn to the world of depravity like it did. I’m disappointed.
Fae Crown is the 4th installment in the Royals of Embermere series by Lucía Ashta. It picks up right where book 3 leaves off and dumps Elowyn and Rush right into The Nuptialis Probatio. Trigger warning for ALL the things. This read is an emotional roller coaster of epic proportions. If I’m being honest, I had a hard time pushing thru right around chapter 7. I was BEYOND angry. Like spitting fire angry. The level of angry that would cause me to throw in the towel right after throwing my kindle across the room and smashing it into tiny little bits, angry! That said, I decided to pull up my big girl pants and push forward, and I’m so glad I did. There are some big revelations and a glimmer of hope at the end that almost make up for previous near total annihilation of my heart.. ALMOST…
This was a solid 5 star read for me. I cannot wait for the final book!!
An evil queen rules the land. Can anyone, or anything, stop her? The queen’s wickedness knows no bounds. Elowyn is in a fight for her very life. For revenge, the evil queen subjects her and her mate to unimaginable horrors. Why is the queen seeking revenge? Could it be jealousy? Might it be simple wickedness? You must be the judge.
This twisted tale kept me turning the pages. It is a romantic fantasy with all sorts of triggers. It ends on a cliffhanger, leaving us waiting for the final battle. Can Elowyn and Rush destroy the queen and emerge victorious? We must wait to find out. If you like fantasy romance with creatures, horrifying and strange, action, terrifying and gory, you might enjoy this twisted tale. You cannot help but despise the evil queen. She is disgusting and depraved. A worse villain, you never will meet.
I need Karma to deal with this evil b... queen right know!!! 🤬😡 I can’t believe the magnitud of her evil deeds, I can't find the proper words to describe the dark, evil, rotten soul of hers, if she really has a soul... I think she doesn't 🤔 ... that would explain a lot of things! 😭 This amazing installment is a freaking wild and hurtful rollercoaster of emotions, my heart hurts so much for Elowyn, Rush and practically eveybody from the Mirror World!, something needs to happen soon, they can’t live like that much longer... I can’t live knowing how much they had suffer and are still suffering! 💔😭 Besides all of that, Lucía did an incredible job with this plot, all the twist and turns had me on my toes, wow!, can't wait to read the next book, seriously, I can't wait! 🖤
I Wrote this to the Author after I read it…… ‘I loved it so much! I’ve been reading through a few different stories… but here is the difference between a Good Story and a Great Story— while I’ve stopped reading some book series and continued again at different intervals - I literally felt like I was rekindling with best friends when I started reading book 4. It was like there was no loss of who is who and what is going on! Action packed Series with so many characters I’m attached to! And the Cliffhanger!!! Oh I did hate that! I may have yelled at you!! I’m so glad you put part of next chapter added on!!!!! I don’t want to spoil it for anyone, but man I was ready to ball!!!’ (It was Amazing, Spicy, Loved it)
If you love paranormal reads with a strong heroine, lots of magical beings including dragons, fae, and sorcery this story is a must read! I’ve read a majority of Lucia’s work and love the worlds she creates. They are well written stories full of fun and fantasy.
I started reading this fourth book in this Series’ and did not want to stop!No spoilers here, but you won’t want it to end either!
This Series had me captivated in book 1. I fell in love with a baby dragon, the heroine who knows how to fight like a badass, and a few handsome men in her life. This is a story of a mad queen you want murder ten times over, and a contest that needs to be won to help save a kingdom. Even more than a kingdom, the Mirror World. I love that this Series has everything; it is action packed, has tons of magic, steamy scenes and fascinating friendships. I love all of the characters Lucia has created in this story! Thank you so much! Cannot wait for the next one!
⚠️ This book has on screen uncomfortable scenes that could be triggering for some people. I urge everyone to read the warnings in the beginning or visit the author’s website for trigger warnings before starting this particular book.
Tropes: 💙 Royal court politics 💙 Enemies to lovers 💙 Evil queen 💙 Fated mates 💙 Dragons 💙 Developing powers 💙 Fae warrior with glowing tattoos
This book had more plot and was much much MUCH better than the previous two books!
It continues the story with how they can defeat the evil queen and all the pressure falls on our FMC who has to compete in the trials that started in Book 1 in order to marry HER FATED MATE! Now THAT is twisted and engaging to get me going with this story.
As expected, things didn’t go as I expected but it wasn’t that bad. The author took the story in another way and I do want to warn people on screen forced SA will happen in this book. It made me so helpless to sit and read what the MMC had to go through this alone. With no support at all. 💔
I have been a huge fan of Ms. Ashta and could not put this book down! I was looking forward to reading it and it did NOT disappoint! While I have long held that the author writes sidekicks that eclipse the main character in lovability, this series showcases Ms. Ashta's world-building prowess and ability to create a villain, so horrible as to make the toughest Disney villain quake in a corner.
This book had more twists and turns than a bucking bronco on steroids! I LOVED this book, I can't wait to until the final nail in the queen's coffin!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
“ Complete the trials, secure the crown—or lose the realm of Embermere to its wicked queen forever. “
Book four of this series and we hit the ground running as we pick up from where we left off in this dangerous, dark and twisted world. Well written and fast paced as we are nearing the end of the trials and taking down this evil queen, it’s thrilling, it’s enthralling and it’s brimming with adventure, betrayal, secrets and steam. Our characters continue to battle through everything that is thrown their way but will they Win and save the kingdom? Need book 5 please.
I devoured this 4th installment of the Royals of Embermere series… the world building and the characters are exceptional.. the Queen? Not so much!! Or maybe just exceptionally evil! And don’t even get me started on the Queen’s two companions who kiss her behind every chance they get. Installment 5 has got some major loose ends to tie up. We can only hope Karma is there so the Queen’s reign can be ended and not a moment longer than necessary. Ellowyn and Rush have a lot of work to do to dethrone the evil queen once and for all.
This book was gripping. I still feel like the characters are doing stuff without me. I could not put this book down. The whole story was unexpected. That's what I love about Lucia's books. I thought I had figured out stuff then I am crying or laughing sometimes made at the characters for something they did. There is a trigger warning on this book. It was a lot but didn't trigger me. It is how you know the queen is the most evil person ever. This book had me in so much emotions. Good and Bad. Everyone needs to read it.
I like the story, as you can tell from my reviews of the other books in this series. But at some point...enough is enough. This book really just felt like filler. I've actually decided not to finish the last book in the series because the last 2 books have been dragging on for me. The author writes well, but this storyline is just repeated so dang much in all of the books... Elowyn is separated from Rush. Queen does torturous things. King is a disappointment. Some magical support character helps Elowyn. Nothing is resolved and the book ends....over and over again.
My heart is racing after finishing this installment of Embermere. There is no building just jump in and get back into it with our favorites and the queen we hate. I had to take a few breathers when the Queen ordered entertainment. Rush…oh Rush and for E to be there and even , gulp, participate? OMG Lucia this adrenaline rush just goes and goes and then…. Now I gotta wait….the final book has so many things to wrap up and I really hope for some vengeance!

Ooh this book left me seething in the best possible way. I haven’t read a villain quite this spectacularly hideous in a hot minute. What a rotten, evil egomaniac. Utterly sociopathic. And soooo much fun to hate. I felt the utter emotional destruction she wreaked on everyone around so vividly. My heart broke for Elowyn and Rush (and some others I won’t mention for spoiler reasons) so much in this novel. I cannot WAIT to see Elowyn take her on. A reckoning is here for sure!!
Lucia Ashta has some of the best writing. The story is fast paced and I could not put it down. Elowyn and Rush are nearing the end of the battle against the evil queen. She’s getting more unhinged in her quest for everlasting rule. Fortunately, Elowyn has surrounded herself with all sorts of interesting friends and allies.
I’ve liked this series enough, and I’ll probably read the next one when it comes out. However, the overarching plot seems to have no development. It’s been dragging on across four books now with seemingly no progress and no conclusions. Every book has some new thing introduced that makes you think they’ll finally get through this plot line - and then they just don’t.
Definitely a different vibe to book 4. The Queen’s decent into the madness of her cruelty is picking up steam! New alliances are being formed as well as new characters being introduced pushing the story to the climax we all hope for. A must read series. Prepare yourself for one heck of a ride!
A great addition to the series. Had me from the start and had me wanting more at the end. The characters have developed well as has the story. Be warned it does leave you with a cliff hanger but worth the read
I so love this series. The characters and story just pull you in. You try to take your time to savour it but you just can't stop reading and wanting More. A Must read for sure.
I need more, come on January. I absolutely love our leading lady. The start of this book in this series had me gritting my teeth at the queen. But the ending I need to know what happens next
