Two families – One follows the letter of the law, and the other… doesn’t. But somehow, they’ve made it work. Neighbors and friends. Bound by past generations of honor, trust, and even love. ~ As children, Mahina Tillman and Zeb Lehua were inseparable. Zeb was a protector. Her protector. Her best friend. But then one day, he wasn’t.
Mahina had loved Zeb more than she ever thought was possible. But when he left, she was forced to move on with her life. And she did.
But now he’s back and things are… complicated.
Zeb walked away from Mahina, but she’d never been far from his thoughts. Or his heart. He’s finally returned home—after being gone for nearly two decades—and things aren’t always what they seem.
What do you do when the love of your life has moved on?
What happens if she needs you, when there’s literally no one else she can turn to?
Zeb Lehua would burn the world down for Mahina Tillman. And this is only the beginning.
Mahina is the first book in the Hawaiian Mafia Romance series and ends on a cliffhanger. The books should be read in order for the best experience. All books are full length novels.
This is a mafia romance that contains dark themes that may be triggering to some. At its core, this is a love story with spice, violence, and drama. However, it tackles sensitive topics like sex trafficking, portraying the harsh realities of abuse in its various forms - sexual, mental, and physical - and depicting acts of killing and murder.
Nalani Titcomb was born and raised on the beautiful Islands of Hawaii. She’s a single mother to an amazing son, whom she says is her greatest accomplishment. Family and faith are most important to her. Nalani began her writing journey after Hawaii went into its second complete lockdown during the Covid19 pandemic and self-published her first book, The Dark Side of Paradise, in 2020.
First off, Zeb is my next read, I don’t care what my Goodreads currently says I’m reading
Second, Nalani!!! What did tut put in this book. Poor Mahina really was put through the emotional ringer! I wanted to kill and resurrect her and kill again the vile man that was her husband. Despite that the cards she’s been dealt she raises one hell of son. Their relationship is so solid! Which he needs because in this book Benjamin went from a boy to a man in one HUGE act of love and bravery.
Mahina and Zeb tiptoe around their very obvious feeling for one another. Now if the hurts from the past can stay there everything will be just fine. Also the ending!!!
Immediately reading Zeb! My heart rate cannot take it!
Book Title: Mahina (A Hawaiian Mafia Romance #1) Author: Nalani Titcombs Star Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
𝑹𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝒊𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒆𝒏𝒋𝒐𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒈: 🩵 Mafia Romance 🩵 Second Chances 🩵 Best Friends to Lovers
I was so excited to read this book and yes I mainly wanted to read it because it was a Hawaiian mafia story. The book was written in third person and it threw me for a loop considering I don’t really like reading books written in third person but I put my issue with that aside and went for it. I won’t lie after going through 64% of the book I considered DNFing, not because the story wasn’t good but because there was no mention of r@pe when I first looked into the book thankfully I kept reading and realized that it was attempted but never actually went through with it for obvious reasons that you will have to read to find out (hehehehehe). I cannot for the life of me stand Mahina (at times), this woman doesn’t listen and she makes excuse after excuse as to why she can’t leave her husband, blaming herself as if she were the reason the marriage wasn’t working out. Like, miss girl should’ve gotten rid of him from the moment he was introduced. As you could tell, I absolutely hated her husband, he was a good for nothing liar and drunk and I didn’t doubt for a second that he was cheating on that woman and the nerve he had to insult her and claim the house and everything in it as his own when she was the breadwinner pissed me off but then again she didn’t want anything to do with that man or the house. As far as favorite characters in this book goes, obviously the MMC is number one followed by the FMC’s son Benjamin, he was just the sweetest and it was nice to see how close he was with his mother even if she did irk my soul most of the time. Although it was written in third person I cannot wait for the second book though because the ending, it definitely wasn’t IT for me.
𝑻𝑾: FMC’s husband attempts to r@pe her when she went to the house to get her and her child’s clothing, Domestic Violence, Mention of alcohol and drug use. Mention of human trafficking (not done by the MMC).
𝑫𝑰𝑺𝑪𝑳𝑨𝑰𝑴𝑬𝑹: As always, although this is an E-ARC, my thoughts are my own and this is my honest review. Thank you to Nalani Titcomb and Book Sirens for the ARC opportunity.
I LOVED this book! I did not know what to expect, but I loved it. This is a dark romance so check the content warnings. I highly recommend this. This is book 1 of the series, and I will be reading the next book very soon. There’s some spice, romance, twists, dark topics, and it was easy to become attached to the main characters.
This was my first mafia book and this was done perfectly to introduced me to mafia.
Mahani embodies strength and fierceness
Nalani did a fantastic job making me hate Kenneth from beginning to the end. I don’t think I’ve ever disliked a character so much. Such a narcissist and manipulator!
I also appreciate the family bond in this story between Mahani and her whole family, the banter is perfect and made it feel very realistic. I absolutely loved the mother and son relationship between Mahani and Benjamin. There’s no bounds they won’t go to protect each other.
I hate that Benjamin has to be the one to do what he did. But it shows the love and protection he has for his mother and solidified how strong their relationship is even more.
The tension between Mahani and Zeb is unreal from the moment they reconnect. It was done perfectly the build up.
The ending…… I wanted to throw this book across the room! I’m side eyeing Zeb!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I don’t think I have read many books based out of Hawaii, especially a mafia one so I was automatically intrigued by the book description. And as someone who has always wanted to visit Hawaii, it was beautiful to read bits about it from a local’s perspective.
The book was written in third person point of view and there is a big time jump from the prologue, which was written in the past, to the first chapter, written in present, but I guess it wasn’t that big considering the past was written during their elementary school days. I just didn’t think it was going to jump 30+ years. Lol I had to reread the first few paragraphs of the first chapter a few times to make sure I read it right. I’m assuming the characters are in their late 30s early 40s.
Although this is dubbed as mafia, I would say there wasn’t a whole lot of mafia going on. It’s definitely different and not gruesome compared to some of the mafia books I have read. If anything Zeb wanted to help others and took care of the people he loves.
I don’t know if it’s because the book was written in third person POV, but I couldn’t really feel Zeb and Mahina’s connection after the prologue. I don’t know if it’s because it took so long for Zeb to make an appearance or if it’s because of Mahina’s family issues. So when it finally kind of happened at the almost 50% mark I couldn’t feel it, maybe not till the 70ish% mark but barely. I felt like some scenes happened off page that I couldn’t connect to what was on page. I felt like I was missing some information.
I did like Benjamin’s relationship with Zeb. Loved that he could have an actual man figure in his life and have someone listen to him and vice versa.
Although this was an interesting read, it wasn’t really for me but it might be for others. It does end on a cliffhanger and I’m a bit intrigued but I’m not sure if I’ll continue with this series.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Wow! So good! I absolutely loved Mehina and her sweet as can be son, Benjamin! Do not get me started on Zeb. I cannot wait to get started on Zeb’s book next.
Really enjoyed this book. I don’t read a lot of mafia romance, but I thought I’d give this one a chance and I’m glad I did! Now I’m have to read Zeb, because the cliffhanger at the end has me intrigued.
I absolutely loved this book! Mahina is such a strong character. The abuse she went through with her ex husband is not an easy road to walk. It takes strength to live that life everyday, especially while raising a child, and it takes even more strength to walk away. I walked her shoes and relate so much. I loved Zeb he's so sweet and protective. The way he cares for Mahina and Ben is amazing. That cliffhanger 😳
Gah I love it when authors write a badass fmc. I loved how Mahina was able to keep her dignity and self respect. She stayed true to her morals and did everything she could do to be a great role model for her son. And ooooh the neighbor. Gah SWOON…

I don’t think I’ve ever read a book set in Hawaii before, but wow—this was the perfect one to start with! Mahina and Zeb’s story is packed with love, heartbreak, tension, and the kind of protective devotion that makes you SCREAM at the characters, and makes your heart ache in the best way. Childhood best friends turned strangers, their bond was once unbreakable—until Zeb left Hawaii, shortly after Mahina told him how she felt about him, shattering Mahina’s heart in the process. Now, two decades later, she’s built a life for herself, but it’s far from perfect. Her marriage is crumbling, her son is her anchor, and just when she needs a protector the most, Zeb walks right back into her world, finally ready to be her person again. But with past wounds still raw and a dangerous world closing in around them, their story is anything but simple. (I mean, is it ever?)
Mahina’s strength is undeniable, but watching her struggle with leaving a toxic marriage felt painfully real. Her resilience, her devotion to her son, and the way she grapples with rekindled feelings for Zeb had me flipping through pages non-stop. And Zeb? He’s the definition of a ride-or-die protector (other than him disappearing for all those years, we’re just going to pretend that didn’t happen!). The way he steps up—not just for Mahina, but for her son—made me swoon HARD. Their chemistry is off the charts, but this book isn’t just about romance; it’s about survival, family, and the weight of choices. Add in the Hawaiian mafia elements, tight-knit family dynamics, and some jaw-dropping plot twists, and you’ve got a story that absolutely kept me hooked.
THAT CLIFFHANGER?! I’m running straight to book two (Zebs book!) because I need answers, NOW. If you love second-chance romance, childhood friends-to-lovers, protective MMCs, and stories that don’t shy away from tough but necessary topics, you need this book on your TBR. Just another book I will warn you about—check the triggers, because this one packs an emotional punch.

This is the first book that I have read by Nalani Titcomb and it had me totally enthralled from the start. The story is a roller coaster of emotions - with its ups and downs. Zen and Mahina have been friends and neighbour’s since they were young children. He was her protector, until one day he was not - he was gone! Now he is back! Mahina’s marriage is falling apart and once again, he is her protector.
Her love for Zeb never died, but he hurt her with leaving so abruptly! Will she be able to forgive him? The book ends on a cliffhanger and I cannot wait for the next one and answer the unanswered questions hanging over their future together.
To be quite honest, you will not be able to put this book down - I cannot wait for the next book in this series. Overall, I would highly recommend this book and you will not be disappointed 😊
I go back and forth between male/female and male/male romance although I’ve been heavier into MM lately. Mahina is my foray back into male female romance books and it comes with a bit of a twist.
Mahina is a wife and a mother. She works for her family’s bed-and-breakfast. She has a teenage son and her marriage is maybe not the most exciting thing in the world. She works to make her marriage work and so as we’re traveling through the book we are also traveling through her marriage when it takes a turn for the worst.
In the midst of her marriage falling apart, her neighbor and first love Zeb moves back home. When he comes back, Mahina learns more about what ties their family together and what Zeb does for a living. At the same time that she has this wonderful friend re-entering her life, Mahina also has her husband turning into someone she doesn’t recognize. Will her marriage survive?
I love this book! I love that when I read Nalani’s books I feel like I’m traveling to Hawaii. Her descriptions bring a sense of the island into the story: the sunsets, the pretty beaches, and the ocean. Mahina is a happy for now ending. The series is actually Mahina, Zeb, and Levi; so I don’t know when the complete ending will come. One thing I really really love about this book is that marriage is treated honestly. Mahina‘s parents have a wonderful marriage. Her marriage not so much and that’s ok because in real life marriage is hard. Nalani brings this dose of reality to her romance. I love how Mahina’s family supports her and her son. How they rally around them. I love the friendship with Zeb. I can’t wait to finish reading these books. I am excited about what comes next for Mahina and Jammies.
Book Review 🐢Mahina 🦈 Book 1 of the Hawaiian Mafia Romance Series Written By: @nalanititcomb
Overall: 3.8/5 Overall plot: 4/5 Character development: 3.5/5 Pace: 3.75/5 World building: 4/5 Spice 🌶️: 1.5/5
What caught my intrigue was that you don't really read too many mafia romances set in Hawaii.
Zeb and Mahina were best friends growing up; he was her protector and she told them everything. Unfortunately, 2 days before graduation when Mahina confessed her feelings to Zeb, he had to leave the islands after graduation and told her he didn't want her to wait for him.
Fast forward to present day, Zeb returns to the islands as Mahina's life with her husband are falling apart. As the story progresses, it captures her beautiful relationship with her sixteen year old son as well as a tight knit family that her husband isn't close to and tries to keep her away from.
There's quite a twist to the story as we read and quickly pick up after the 50% mark and boy does it ramp up quickly with a cliffhanger which leads you to run quickly to Zeb: Book 2.
It captures the longing and pining that Zeb has for Mahina. I did feel that Mahina's character arc as a love interest could've been executed slightly better but as a mother caring for her son, 10000% there.
⚠️ A word of caution: be sure to check the trigger warnings, as there are active scenes of domestic violence and sexual assault throughout the book. ⚠️
Overall, I’d recommend this book if you like to read a slow burn mafia second chance romance.
Tropes: 🐢 Mafia Romance 🦈 Second Chance 🐢 Best Friends to Lovers 🦈 Slow Burn 🐢 Protective MMC 🦈 Cliffhanger
This was quite the rollercoaster ride. Not that I mind. There’s just so much that happened in this book, and I’m still trying to process that cliffhanger (don’t worry, book two’s already out, you don’t have to wait to find out what happens).
We have our FMC Mahina Tillman, who is definitely one of the strongest women I’ve seen in books, and the best mother as well. She tries to avoid unnecessary drama and problems, and just wants a happy family life. Lately, however, that’s been proving to be a lot more difficult, and she has to make some tough decisions.
It doesn’t help that her childhood crush moves back into town, right next-door.
My first read by Nalani Titcomb, and it’s evident that there’s something that separates this book from the other mafia romances I’ve come across. For starters, it’s based in Hawaii. The characters often go to the beach, spend time surfing, and we also get a peek into the culture, which I find really nice in a novel. It’s a beautiful setting for the story, and I can really picture the scene - the waves crashing onto the shore while Mahina and Zeb take a casual walk on the beach.
The themes of sisterhood, motherly love and family is evident throughout the story, and I have to admit this- as someone who doesn’t plan on having children, this book made me want to be a boy mom so bad. I never thought I’d say this, but it’s true. Mahina’s bond with her son Benjamin is absolutely adorable.
I can’t wait to read book two and find out if XXXXXXXXX actually XXXXXX (sorry, no spoilers ;))
Before reading this book, I had not read any mafia romances. Over a decade ago, I read a book about an international mafia story, but it was definitely not categorized as romance. Despite little experience with the genre, I knew I loved Nilani Titcomb's writing, and wanted to give it a shot. I'm so glad I did!
Mahina is stuck in a toxic marriage she has tried and tried to save, primarily for the sake of her 16 year old son and her morals about marriage. Despite a long commitment to her husband, regardless of his ongoing and escalating abuse, when Zeb walks back into her life, her world shifts. Her childhood best friend and the man she never stopped loving, Zeb left her decades ago without a look back as he entered into the family business. So, when she has finally decided to leave her husband and Zeb makes his appearance, her emotions and loyalties are in an uproar. That is, until a fateful night when her soon -to-be exhusband crosses line that can't be uncrossed. Now, Mahina must make quick decisions to save her son, herself, and her family, all with the knowledge that Zeb will either be the key to safety or the push off the edge.
If I wasn't sure before, I am now. I'm definitely into mafia romance, especially this series that takes place on the beaches of Hawaii. With strong family bonds, dynamic relationships, best friends to enemies to lovers, burn the world down for her vibes, and danger and intrigue, I am excited to read the next book in the series!
“I can’t take my eyes off of you, Hene. Never could.”
Nalani Titcomb has an amazing talent for creating interesting and emotionally charged stories. If you’re looking for a second chance, ‘mafia’ romance with intense moments, I highly recommend picking up Mahina. This book does touch upon some difficult topics, such as spousal abuse, so please check trigger warnings before reading.
From the beginning of the prologue to the cliffhanger at the end, I found myself captivated with the characters and the storyline. Mahina is such an amazing character. She is so strong and goes to great lengths to protect and keep those she cares about, especially her son Benjamin, happy. Throughout the book, she faces some difficult situations within her marriage. Her family and neighbors act as incredible support systems.
Zeb has been extremely protective of Mahina ever since they were children. He does everything he can to ensure her and her son’s safety. Readers can tell just how much the two characters love each other. There is a bit of a will they or won’t they vibe, but works so well for this book. I recommend reading this book if you’re looking for an emotional and intense story. I cannot wait to find out what happens next in Mahina and Zeb’s story.
“”It’s all good, Ben. You don’t have to worry. It won’t ever happen again.” Kenneth told his son. And for a split second, she even believed he meant it.”
“”If anything had happened to you…it would have ended me. I would’ve burned the fucking world down.”
Running to the next book because god damn that cliffhanger has me needing more. For me it was that slow burn, the set up, those moments where you go “oh, I know what this leads to”. Just as we are getting to a point where we feel everyone is safe then boom 💥 sharp turn and a cliffhanger.
The gist: This is about the entwining of two families, one who follows the law and one who is necessary however does not always follow the law. Mahina Tillman and Zeb Lehua were inseparable since children until a tragedy struck and they were sent on seperate paths. Zeb always the protector, best friend and the love of her life until he wasn’t..forced to move on Mahina makes a life for herself and everything is going fine. A job, a son and a husband, what more could she want or need? That is until Zeb returns….
Mahina is predominantly a family drama about a marriage breakdown that spirals into domestic abuse. The slow-burn romance between Mahina and Zeb is the simmering undercurrent running through the story. I liked the dual point of view as it gave some insight into their relationship, but I felt that either their backstory or their renewed friendship could have been developed more. My favourite relationship in this book is the one between Mahina and her son Ben, who is growing up to be a fine and respectful young man despite having a father who practically ignores him. I liked how Zeb and Ben interacted and bonded through surfing, developing their own friendship independent of Mahina. There were a few instances when Mahina annoyed me a little. She made a couple of risky decisions, putting her in precarious situations. The book is labelled as a mafia romance, but it is surprisingly light on mafia-related activities, concentrating instead on Mahina's family life. The twist at the end was a nice touch, making the story end on a cliffhanger and intriguing me enough to want to find out what happens next.
Book : Mahina: A Hawaiian Mafia Romance: Book One (Hawaiian Mafia Romance series 1) Author : Nalani Titcomb Format: Kindle Edition Ratings: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
"Mahina" marked the beginning of a fresh series set in Hawaii, blending romance with Mafia intrigue. It was a story packed with emotions and unexpected turns.
Zeb returned to Mahina's life just as her marriage was falling apart. The author skillfully portrayed Mahina's inner struggles, capturing her confusion, doubt, anger, and worry for her son.
As the plot unfolded gradually, it highlighted themes of second chances and family ties, leading to a surprising climax.
Mahina's family, especially her parents, added warmth to the tale. Her father's charming love story, sprinkled with humor, was a delightful touch.
The bond between Benjamin and Zeb was heartening, offering Benjamin a positive male influence.
Overall, "Mahina" was a captivating read, and the cliffhanger ending left readers eagerly awaiting the next installment.
Nalani Titcomb's latest release "Mahina" is the first book in her new Hawaiian Mafia Romance series. A unique take on a Mafia story about two families on opposite sides of the law, at times working together to achieve the same goal. Buckle up for this emotional roller coaster read.
After being gone for years, Zeb's back just as Mahina's marriage is at its breaking point. The author's description of Mahina's struggles throughout her dissolving marriage are valid. Her feelings of confusion, self-doubt, uncertainty, anger, disbelief and worry about her son will resonate to those who have experienced similar circumstances.
This second chance, super slow burn story about close family ties has a cliffy I did not expect. How could he? Why did he? Why didn't he tell her sooner? What will she do? What will he do? I have sooooo many questions and need book two ASAP! Pretty please.
I received an ARC from the author, and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Mahina grew up with Zeb from age 12 to 18 when he left without a trace. Mahina moved on, eventually marrying and having her son Benjamin "Jammy." He husband lately had been changing to more abusive until she left him. It just so happened that Zeb had finally come back for good and wanted to at least be friends. Zeb is running his family's mafia businesses, and he's ready to protect Mahina and her son. When these two finally rekindled their relationship, it was just like the author wrote, combustible. There was always a place for Mahina in Zeb' heart. As this book ends with a cliffhanger due to her husband's disappearance, it's now Zeb's book next to continue this series.
I truly enjoyed book 1 learning about Mahina and her side of the story by getting to know her son and her close-knit family. Hawaiian mafia is a first for me, so I hope to learn more.
Thank you, author, for the ARC! Previous Release Date: April 2, 2024
Loved this book! Wish we cld give more than 5 stars, because I wld! I love mafia books and this one didn’t disappoint. It was very well written and the plot was plotting. It follows Mahina the FMC and Zeb the MMC, they live in Hawaii. Mahina is in a bad marriage and she works her butt off to support her son and her worthless husband. When her crush from high school moves back in town, she realizes she still has feelings for him, and she never got closure when he left after graduation. When Mahinas husband starts abusing her and is a drunk and using drugs, Mahina and her son Ben leave and move to a cabin that her family owns as a B&B. Zeb finds out about the abuse and goes ballistic vowing to protect Mahina and her son. Mahina files for divorce and things escalate very fast with her soon to be ex husband, and she’s fighting for her life! To find out what happens read this book!!! I cannot wait to continue with the series. Next book is Zeb!
Mahina is an intense, emotional read that ends on a cliffhanger. Mahina & Zeb's families are neighbors, and they are best friends, and both secretly in love with one another. But something happened right before graduation and Zeb leaves town. Mahina eventually moved on, got married & had a son. Her marriage is a struggle, and she works hard to help provide for her family. Zeb returns, and plans on staying for good. He finds out Mahina has moved on but he still loves her. When things in Mahina's marriage get bad, her family and Zeb are there for her and her son. Zeb promises to always be there for Mahina and her son, whom he has grown close too. This was a very emotional read, that involves spousal abuse, so please be aware of that before reading. I could not put this down and I cannot wait to read book 2!
Never really hear of many books based out of Hawaii that talk about Hawaiian culture in the fictional since and with a mafia twist, I was sold.
I had read some of Nalani’s other works before but this one honestly the cover and the genre had me. I was not disappointed.
Mahina’s story is a dark one with some trigger warnings so make sure you check those before you dive in.
That being said the childhood friends to lovers second chance style was done really well in this book. I was so glad to see Mahina move forward and do what was best for her and her son. Zen came back into her life at just the right time and that cliffhanger had me running to book two Zeb.
The only reason this was 4 stars and not 5 for me is I’m not a huge fan of 3rd person POVbut that aside great book definitely dove right in to the rest of the series!
Whew! This book was intense from start to finish! And the cliffhanger at the end. I didn´t see it coming, but at the same time, I kind of did. The friendship to Mahina and Zeb is so sweet and loved the prologue from they were in elementary. Liked that we got to read Zebs pov a few times and how protective Zeb is of Mahina. When Mahinas marriage is struggling, her family is there to help and also Zeb. I loved that the story is based in Hawaii and how it is so much love in this story and all the feels. I can´t wait to read the next book to find out what happens next!
The story has spousal abuse in it, so you can be aware of that before reading the book.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
From the moment that Mahina and Zeb were little children and he defended Mahina on the playground, I instantly was a fan of Zeb. This has not changed into adulthood. Despite Zeb being gone so long, the feelings between them are still there.
This is a slow burn romance but it will lead into much spicer in book two. Which I am very excited to read. After the few moments these two shared together, I am ready for the heat to be turned up.
I love Mahina's family. They are all so close including her parents. The love story that Mahina's father shared was sweet but the twist he added to it, showed his humor. If you love engaging characters with a rich storyline, then you need to read this book!
Mahina is book one of the Hawaiian Mafia Romance Series.
Mahina and Zeb go through a turbulent process together. They have a lot of ups and downs throughout the course of the book, but this made a really good friends to lovers story. They were there for each other as friends before they fully acted on their feelings.
Mahina isn't living her best life as her husband is a bit of a deadbeat, but she is tying to forge forward. I felt bad for her that she was so unhappy but her husband was being selfish and making her life harder than it needed to be. She really goes through the ringer in this book.
And boy does it end on a major OMG moment. Jaw dropping. I can't wait to read the next book to see the conclusion.
Wow this book had my heart in a chokehold at some points and the cliffhanger at then end I didn’t see it coming.
Zeb and Mahina were friends in school but hadn’t seen each other for like 20 years. Mahina is married with a teenage son when she meets Zeb again. I loved these characters and can’t wait to see how their relationship progresses.
This book sent me on a rollercoaster of emotions and I was not expecting the cliffhanger at the end but luckily I’m reading this book along with book 2 before reading an ARC of book 3 so I don’t have to wait to find out what happens next.
I loved this book and would definitely recommend it but make sure you have book 2 on standby because you will want it.
That was not the ending I saw coming. This second chance, best friends to lovers, mafia romance was on point. The heat between the FMC and MMC could burn you. While there is only one real spot of spice, the heat is through out the whole book. Now please make sure to check trigger warnings as this does have some dark topics. I can’t wait for the second book and to learn what happens next. So if you haven’t guessed, yes this book does end in a cliffhanger. A very big cliffhanger if you ask me. Overall I would say this a light gray with some black topics at times. For raining I give 4 stars and 1 pepper.
