Guys… this is going to be a really good series, I can feel it in my bones. Hayden and Carena are giving modern day Joker and Harley Quinn vibes! They’re both entirely too possessive and completely toxic and I’m HERE FOR IT. The plot line was very good, the overall story was excellent - and totally kept my interest throughout the book. I really enjoyed Skylar’s writing style! The spice was next level!!! Carena’s “monster” is a very relatable part of the book in my opinion especially when dealing with past relationship trauma. I think this is an excellent start to Skylar’s newest series and I’m so very appreciative to her for giving me an ARC to review! Get your copy April 23rd!!!

This is the first motorcycle club book I’ve ever read. I will 100% be read in more. The book is described to have Harley Quinn and Joker vibes which is very true. Be ready for a roller coaster of events. You’re not going to be able to put this down once you start. Carena and Hayden have a very strong love for each other but their lives make it very difficult to just be happy. They are both obsessed with each other in the best ways possible. I enjoyed reading about them growing as individuals. I can’t wait to see what the next book brings.

Carena is a case worker who gets moved to a High Max Prison, and then on top of that, she's thrown six of the most dangerous convicts. She finds out there's corruption in the prison and is determined to help these MC Brothers out. When Slater, the President of the Cross Bone Six, meets his new caseworker, he's immediately infatuated, and therefore, his obsession starts.
This book was SO good!! Lately, I've been in a reading funk, and it totally got me out of it! It definitely gave off Harlequin and Joker vibes, with Carena being this 'good girl case worker' and Slater, the bad boy criminal, drawing out her crazy and making her come to the "dark side." I seriously can't wait for the next book!

3.5 stars. Absolutely loved the first 1/3 of the book. It gave huge Prison Break vibes and I love how the leading lady stood her ground.
2nd third was full of gang drama, fights, and steamy scenes, which kept it interesting and a page turner!!
The last part felt a bit rushed. I would have liked to see things play out a bit more and it seemed some of the same phrases were repeated multiple times, which lacked variety and slowed the pace. But overall, I still really enjoyed the storyline and seeing things wrap up- with an unexpected twist, of course ;)

I lost myself in this and devoured it in one day! I forgot my own emotions and felt those of the characters! The friendly/sarcastic banter between the FMC and her best friend is amazingly hysterical and is exactly how me and my friends go back and forth! Strong female and male main characters who were perfect for each other and their personalities clashing at times fit perfectly in this story!

I received an advanced copy, and this is my honest review.
For a first dip into dark romance for this author, she certainly went in with a bang. I wasn't even halfway before I was recommending this to people. I love a good Mc romance, and this ticked all the boxes. Dark and twisty with all the angst and violence. Not to mention a kick ass fmc who wasn't taking any crap from the mmc. Perfect balance of romance, drama, and spice, I can't wait for the rest of this series!

Loved this book! And cannot wait for the remaining 5 books! This was my first motorcycle gang book and it was so good! Carena is a case worker for a prison and gets involved with Hayden Slater, who is the president of the Cross Bone Six. Slater becomes obsessed with Carena and will do anything to protect her. Such a great book that keeps you wanting more. Has good levels of spice, thrill and romance! Highly recommend!!

This was 🔥! I read and devoured it in one sitting, I could not put it down. A definitely read for anyone who loves dark romance involving motorcycle clubs. Definitely triggers throughout so be mindful of those.
Carena is strong, confident, fierce, but also drowning in the life she has. She's bored. Except with her job as a case worker dealing with convicts. There she excels and helps people. And there is where she meets the Cross Bone Six. And no matter how strong she is, she cannot stop the plans that Slater has in store. He is strong, possessive, obsessed, commanding. But, being the president of the Cross Bone Six, makes that why. And when he meets Carena, he wants to break her and consume her.
Their chemistry and back and forth is palpable. The push and pull between them, the reaction they each have on the other is so strong. Neither can fight it. And Slater is willing to kill anyone who dares try to look at her, talk to her, touch her, hurt her. You can feel the anger through the pages when he shows others that she is his. But I love that Carena can hold her own, he doesn't know who she is inside, how strong she really is or that she can be almost as crazy as him. She does things that he doesn't always expect, and it surprises him and makes him proud, and wants to make her his "old lady".
I loved that his crew loved Carena. Their brotherhood means that their thoughts and feelings about her means more than his own families would. Its hilarious how members Viper and Ghost act around her throughout the book, how easily they smile and laugh and hug her. Zeke/Digger, Slaters #2, is a little more careful in his feelings on her to begin, but he easily sees the way Slater is with her, how he acts and what he says and encourages him to go for it.
I enjoyed watching the changes in both Carena and Slater, but they are seen more with Carena. Watching her open up to the beast she has inside her. How she acted with Roxy made me gasp in shock and then laugh at out jealous and territorial she was. I loved the relationship she has with Layla but I wish we saw a little more of it. You know they have a history and how close they are, I just wish it showed a little more.
This book ended way too soon. I could have easily read another 100 pages and probably still wanted even more than. I cannot wait to see what future books entail if this grows into a series. Learning more about the Cross Bone Six and how they are beyond Slater and Carena leaves me interested.

I didn't know what to expect - new MC read - but it was so entertaining.
I loved Carena and Slater - she was just as fiery as he was, gave as good as she received - the beat down she gave Roxy was so good - I was cheering her on. Side character, Layla, the best friend, is the just what is needed to round out the group that are in the story.
What started out as a job in a male prison, Carena is a caseworker up against, Jeffers, a crooked guard, not just any guard -> but the head guard, he's definitely dangerous. She is assigned some new cases to her load, The Cross Bone Six. They are big, tough and scary looking, but she's not intimidated. She bides her time, asks them questions, eventually they start talking - they like her; she treats them like people not criminals. She gains their trust, using their connections, they look out for her, in and out of the prison walls.
When the time comes for their parole hearing, she passes on some information she got from the guys (You'll have to read the book, it all works out) and they are released.
Hayden Slater is obsessed with Carena; he has to see her, kiss her, dominate her - show her how good they can be together. They start up a relationship - they are so so so good together, but, because of the information Carena passed on, she is now a target as well as the MC, by Jeffers - he wants revenge for the trouble he's in because of them.
he's trying to keep her safe, but the way Slater distances himself from Carena, breaks your heart - :) enter Roxy - the back talk, the events that take place when they're 'apart' - so good, THE WHOLE BOOK - SO GOOD!!

I had the chance to read this book as an ARC and I’m so grateful because I legit stayed up until 2am and devoured this book in one sitting!
This book was so action packed there was no way I’d be putting it down until I was finished.
Carena gets assigned to work with 6 convicts in a High Max Prison and she goes in there with all the confidence in the world. She is so feisty and I absolutely loved it. She matches Hayden’s crazy perfectly with her wild don’t mess with me personality.

The spicy scenes were sooo good because the author did such an amazing job at making you feel the chemistry between these two.

His Obsession is my first read by this author and HOLY 🔥🔥🔥🔥! This story was completely unexpected, totally HOT and utterly consuming! Slater and Carena are absolute perfection and so I'd their journey. These characters are fantastic and pulls you in to take the ride right along with them.
"Crazy calls to crazy, so I use theirs to hide mine."
And their crazy definitely calls to each other.
I LOVE that Carena is by no means a shrinking violet. She's FIERCE and capable and backs down from nothing or no one.
“ You just let her monster out! That is a hurricane, and you should pray she chooses to be self-destructive. Because God wouldn’t even be able to save you if she turned her rage on you."
Slater messes up in a big way, with the best of intentions but Carena's out for blood and she gets just what she wants.
��He let the monster out, might as well let her play for a bit.”
Slater definitely has his work cut out for him with her but he doesn't back down either. No isn't in his vocabulary and he always gets what he wants. Just happens that what he wants is Carena.

I'm completely enamored with the Cross Bone Brothers and I can't wait for more from this series.

Whoa.
I was NOT prepared to love this book as much as I did!
I’ll be honest, MC romance has never been an interest of mine but that may very well be changing thanks to His Obsession.
This book was a rollercoaster ride of emotions and I was absolutely here for it. Carena and Hayden were obsessed with each other to the point where it’s probably considered toxic but damn if it wasn’t hot AF. That toxic love as awful as it can be it’s also delicious as hell and idgaf what anyone has to say about it.
Carena is a case worker who gets promoted to working at a high max security prison where she meets our deliciously unhinged MMC, Hayden Slater - president of the Cross Bone Six MC. The attraction is immediate and I could feel it off the page. And the spice??? 🥵
The banter between Carena and Hayden and even Carena and her best friend (all the characters really g was absolutely everything ! I absolutely loved the wit and the sarcasm on our FMC. She had a hell of a mouth on her and could fucking throw hands!! And when it came to defending her man, she didn’t it with no hesitation!

Skylar did something unique when she wrote this book. A whole different perspective & storyline than I ever read anywhere else.
"His Obsession" was a perfectly titled book! Carena became Slater's literal obsession from beginning to end. The way that Skylar wrote their story was unique, and you can see how it was REALLY Harley Quinn/Joker vibes between those 2. They were both way too toxic, possessive, a bit insane, and really made a blazing connection with their chemistry. I loved the aspect of Skylar being a case worker in a high-maximum prison and Slater being a prisoner, such a unique storyline! The story was fast-paced and ended way too soon, I could easily have read it with a few more chapters. The spice in this was a 4/5! It was too GOOD. "His Obsession" was a perfectly titled book! Carena became Slater's literal obsession from beginning to end. The way that Skylar wrote their story was unique, and you can see how it was REALLY Harley Quinn/Joker vibes between those 2. They were both way too toxic, possessive, a bit insane, and really made a blazing connection with their chemistry. I loved the aspect of Skylar being a case worker in a high-maximum prison and Slater being a prisoner, such a unique storyline! The story was fast-paced and ended way too soon, I could easily have read it with a few more chapters. The spice in this was a 4/5! It was too GOOD. Take Harley Quinn and the Joker, add sex and motorcycles and you’ll get close to what His Obsession is.
I was immediately intrigued by this story line and from page one I couldn’t put it down. Carena is a case worker who gets set up with Hayden Slater and his buddies while they are in prison. She is manipulated into getting them all released early and gets dragged into a bad situation with a prison guard whom she exposed as being dirty. The dirty guard is out for revenge and will stop at nothing to get Slater back where he thinks he belongs.
The story was good and I did enjoy the vast majority of the book. I’m excited to read about what happens with some of the other guys in the club.
Despite both main characters being unhinged in their own way, I had a hard time being okay with Carena forgiving Slater. I know this is 100% my issue and I understand unhinged, dark romances but I feel like he just crossed a line and there is just no coming back from that for me.

I am a big fan of MC dark romance books and I recommend this one. This is the first book from Skylar A. Blevins that have read and I will be coming back for more.

Carena is feisty and backs down from no one. She isn’t afraid to fight to protect what’s hers. Slater always gets what he wants and he wants her. The chemistry is off the charts and the spice is perfect! I am so looking forward to the next in the series!

I lost myself in this whole book! The friendly/sarcastic banter between the FMC and her best friend was amazing! This book was SO good!! The book is about Carena a case worker who gets moved over to a high max prison, and then she is thrown the six of the most dangerous convicts. She finds out about their corruption in the prison and is determined to help these MC brothers out. But when Slater, the president of the Cross Bone Six meets his new caseworker, he is immediately infatuated, and therefore, his obsession starts. Strong Female and Male characters who I think were perfect for each other, as well as their personalities clashing at times, fit real perfectly in the story!!! I need more!!!

as much as I am enjoying the book I really felt the need to come here and adress how fucking real this book is. all the characters feel read, their choices are very relatable, this is what I feel most of the books miss. they want to write humans who are unapologetic but somehow all of them so out of touch and seems godly where nothing about them is relatable but these characters over here, especially carena are just unapologetic yet unhinged in a way that seems real. I really appreciate the author for creating characters which are authentic yet likable.

I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy of this new dark MC romance and it is so amazing! If you love a forbidden romance where the MMC will do anything for the woman he loves and a FMC is just as crazy and bad ass, you will love this book as much as I did! I devoured it in a single day and found myself laughing, crying, and yelling my way through the rollercoaster it took me on. The characters are relatable and compelling and the plot kept me intrigued the whole way through. Let's not even talk about the perfection that is the spice!! A truly entertaining read!

MC reads can sometimes feel corny but Blevins writing was A1 on this one and kept me wanting more. This definitely took me out of a reading slump.

I loved this story and couldn’t stop reading it once I started. Carena is my idol , and I loved everything about her! I do wish there was a little more groveling from the MMC Hayden, however it was still good in this story. There was a little bit of funny comebacks from the girls throughout and it made this story so much better! I will definitely be reading book 2 and the rest of the series! If you love motorcycle club tropes then this is the perfect story for you!

This book made me discover that I am just as twisted and how much a enjoy a good motorcycle club book. Let me start by stating that both main characters are very possessive with each other. The spice is as high as it can get aside from it being well written, it gives all the right feelings. The banter between the FMC and her best friend made me smile and think of my own best friend. With this book this author has just become and auto read for me and cannot wait to see what comes next.

This is a dark enemies-to-lovers romance. Please check the trigger warnings on the author’s website before reading. The plot line was very good, the overall story was excellent - and totally kept my interest throughout the book. I really enjoyed Skylar’s writing style! This book has Harley Quinn/ Joker vibes and I’m so here for it.This book left me wanting more and I can already tell this is going to be a great dark romance series!!

I am totally obsessed with this book, I could not put it down. The Cross Bone Brothers is a series that I cannot wait to have more of! I can’t even put into words the range of emotions I felt reading this, the fun banter, the sexy spice, the torment and all the crazy that comes with dealing with the Cross Bone Brother MC. Carena and Slater are so unhinged. I loved seeing their personalities. Carena and her friendship with Layla reminded me of real life friendships. Slater had me at the first “good girl.”

So crazy I loved it!
This book is great! It’s got a kick butt woman and her loyal bestie who are embroiled with a Biker gang that are so hot it’s unholy! Sizzling spice, a lot of angst, emotions run high and the ending is perfection! I want to read another book on Layla and Zeke! Definitely a must read for anyone who loves a dark MC romance! 😈

I loved this book! For it being her first dark romance I think she did splendidly! I’m looking forward to the future installments of this series. Chapter 22 had me by my throat and tears in my eyes. I wanted to flip a table!

I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through this book. There was great plot and spice.
