A grouch who’s really an alpha cinnamon roll, a sunshine who’s really a brat, and a Valentine’s Day date they’ll never forget…
Maddie When you’re short and curvy and run a cupcake shop, people naturally think you’re sweet. Sweet – I hate the word! I can play the part, but my friends know the real she’s a little quirky, has the sense of humor of a pre-teen boy, and swears like a sailor.
After a string of dating disasters, two of my regular customers encourage me to sign up for the local radio station’s Valentine’s Day matchmaking contest. I’m about to tell them no, but then I see Hazy Cove’s tattooed bad boy is one of the contestants. After I pick my jaw up off the floor, I know I have to apply. Going on a date with Buck Henderson will be good for my business, and if the rumors about him are true, he might just help me break the long dry spell I’ve been in since I moved back home.
Buck When you’re tall and muscled and run a tattoo shop, people naturally think you’re tough. And it’s true – except where my grandmother is concerned. When she decides to sign me up for some stupid dating contest, I don’t have the balls to tell her no, which is how I find myself clicking through applications from the women crazy enough to enter to win a date with me.
When I see the sweet little gal who runs the cupcake shop, I know she’s the one I should pick. All she’ll need to do is spend a few hours with me and she’ll run screaming from my dominant desires before she even gets a glimpse at my toy collection. I’ll be off the hook with Nana Daisy and maybe I’ll get some free cupcakes out of the deal.
Turns out my sweet little baker is submissive in all the best ways – and that smart mouth of hers is giving me all kinds of ideas…

This one was okay for me. Maddie is a sunshine but secretly a brat who has a image to maintain, she's a sweet baker who has her kinks and she's "bullied" by two older ladies to enter a contest for one of their grandsons. Who is an alpha cinnamon tattoo artist, aka Buck. He hates the idea and has a plan to make sure his date doesn't like his kinks. Thinking Maddie is innocent, he hits her with a "I wanna tie you up" and pour wax all over you. 🤣🤣 she tells him he has to spank her first, lol. And that's how he becomes smitten.
Now they have a deal only a one time thing, nothing more, and not to fall in love. And Buck fell hard he was upset she left after the night he kept wanting more, and Maddie didn't. She was more pushing away. Which was sad because we sorta know why but not really?! The whole pregnancy scare was dumb. At how a grown ass man reacted. My other problem was him not wanting to give her sex because she doesn't wanna a relationship, so he teases her sorta edges her into a soem type of relationship. Then we get an epilogue.
No ow/om drama, no cheating, slight secondary character, sexy times, no virgins (both had a past)

If there is anything I will always be a sucker for it is a woman with snark. That being said, it has to be good snark and Maddie had some of the best snark I've seen in a minute...
One thing you know going into a story like this is if the characters promise not to fall in love you know they are going to fall head over heels for one another and their romance is going to be a whirlwind masterpiece. Maddie was amazing! Seriously, I couldn't get enough of her, but Buck was the real showstopper for me.
Often readers assume because a guy is a tattooed and works at a tattoo shop, he is either going to be a big broody biker or he is going to be a bad guy. And that wasn't the case here. He was such a cinnamon roll, but he was especially a cinnamon roll for Maddie and that just tickled all my little fancies.
While this book was sweet there was no lack of spice. Don't get me wrong, the substance was there. It started off with a bang and then there were bits and pieces of their pasts thrown in, so you were able to connect with the characters that much more.
This was my first Reba Bale book, and I can't wait to check out her backlog. If they are half as funny as this with all the same spice, I might have just found another auto-buy author.

This was a cute BDSM romcom. - i was in a mini reading slump ( this pulled me out of it) - I adored the main characters and I found this book to be funny yet cute . The spice was hot & sweet at the same time . The insta love aspect made this book even better . It may be under 200 pages but it was a fun cute read . I love BDSM romcoms . There’s not enough BDSM books out there that aren’t billionaires forcing the fmcs to be submissives in some way shape or form . This book was just amazing . It showcases kink but also showed that kink & romcom can go hand in hand .
The pregnancy trope in this book despite being one I love . Was kinda weird . I could have sworn she said she was on birth control????? Yet she has a pregnancy scare?? Explain that to me . ( I could have remembered wrong though ) also the way he was like “ imma Marry you “ if she was pregnant seemed so outdated but like overall other than this and a few other wtf things I enjoyed the book. It earned its 4 star rating .
Maddie is a cupcake baker (yeah, really) who has moved back to her small coastal home after the big town of Portland (yeah, indeed). Buck is a tattoo artist. They have a meet cute courtesy of the local radio station and the scheming of Buck's grandmother.
They have lots of sex, lots of bondage, lots of on-again, off-again. Mostly because Maddie is commitment-phobic.
Then HEA.
As I said, fun and short. The snark and brattiness get a bit thick. But the story definitely fills the requirements (short, sweet, VD-themed, kinky) set for the series.
These two are absolutely filthy and I’m loving it! Buck and Maddie are matched on a radio show, but neither of them are looking for love. But, it finds them anyway, kinky bits and all. I love love loved these two, Maddie’s snark was fantastic, Buck was a hoot, and the rest of the characters were a blast. Hopefully there’s more stories set in Hazy Cove just as great as this one!
I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. Maddie and Buck are pushed together never expecting to find the one. They have their own reasons and baggage that kept them out of serious relationships. I thought the story was full of chemistry, kink and denial. I would have liked to seen more interactions outside of the sexual tension. It is a steamy story that felt light in the romance. Overall it was a quick, fun read 3.5
Cupcakes and Tattoos you can eat both! Maddie and Buck find each other at an unlikely event. Both are like minded people, who have not made the right connections. Will they give each other a chance? Read on. A good quick read.

I have read a few of Reba Bale’s books here and there. But this one seemed off the mark for a chapter or two but then it took a turn towards something valid in content. It became interesting, funny and dare I say cute. Buck and Maddie became cute and lovable. Enjoyed It!
This is a quick, dirty listen that’s nothing but smut in the best way. Not much of a plot, no emotional build-up—just nonstop kink. We’re talking spanking, restraints, clamps, dirty talk, public play, and more. It dives straight into BDSM and doesn’t let up.
Not a deep read, but definitely a fun, filthy escape.
Spanking & Sprinkles is a short story that hits you with the heat right away, then backtracks for a little storytelling. That's how I felt the whole book balances out. Lots of kinky, spicy scenes with a little character interaction dashed in. That being said, Maddie and Buck are such strong characters that I still enjoyed their whirlwind romance. Neither of them were looking for a relationship, but they were lovingly bullied into trying out a date. And when on that first date they pinky swore to each other that neither would catch feelings for the other, well we know the rule in Romance-land. They never stood a chance to resist each other. This story while short still has quirky grandmas, cupcakes and lots of laughs.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I loved the back and forth between Maddie and Buck. They both agreed not to fall in love but failed. I like how Buck got Maddie to cave and admit she loved him too.
This book was so cute and such a fun read. I loved that both characters were grumpy but they make you fall in love with them. And then of course there was the grandmother. SHE WAS MY FAVORITE! I can't wait to read more from this author.
This is a new to me author and I'm hooked! The title of the book caught my attention and I had to check it out. The story pulls you in and you laugh through at least half of it. I loved it and will be reading more from this author!!
A very interesting relationship. And sounds like a very interesting town. A little more world building would be nice to fully appreciate the quirkiness.
I admit I was a bit taken aback by the opening of the story. Not because the events there were a surprise, but I hadn't even met the main characters yet. That said, it was fun to watch Maddie and Buck make their way to each other, with the "help" of his grandmother and other characters in the small town of Hazy Cove (great name, by the way). The Valentine's Day matchmaking contest was a very creative idea for getting the characters together (not like the boring old batchelor auction). The story had a good balance of believable with slightly wacky goings on, and just the right amount of heated attraction and spice. A fun read!
