After events in Venezuela, Father Francis Scott’s soul is beyond saving.

If he’s damned, then he’s going to drag those who deserve it to Hell with him, starting with the men behind the horrible events of Stanmore Boys home. But as Francis searches for answers, it soon becomes clear some secrets will fight to stay dead. If Francis doesn’t stop stirring up old ghosts, he’ll be among them.

Overwhelmed, hunted, and afraid for his life, there’s only one place he can go, only one man he can turn to. The man of many sins, the man Francis killed for, the man who showed him what it means to be free. Vitari (Angel) Angelini.

*

Vitari cannot afford to put a single step wrong. He just needs to keep his head down, and do what he’s good at—be L’ Angelo della Morte for his father.

He’s doing just fine until rumors of a contract reach him. The target? A priest. It can’t be Father Francis Scott. Francis is far away in England, safe from the mafia and protected by forces high above Vitari’s pay grade.

But too much from his time with Francis remains unanswered, and when it becomes clear the contract is for Francis’s life, Vitari must act.

He wasn’t supposed to see Francis again. What happened in Venezuela couldn’t follow them home, but now Francis is in Rome, exactly where he shouldn’t be, and the moment Vitari sees him again, he knows he’ll give up everything for Francis. Lose what’s left of his soul for him.

Die for him.

He'll save Father Francis Scott, even if it ruins him.

I was really looking forward to the continuation of this trilogy, but it turned out that I completely lost interest in the story and, above all, in the characters. I don't know why this happened, because I liked the first part - I didn't love it, but I liked it - but the sequel completely lost its appeal to me. I wanted to be obsessed with this series, but sadly I won't read the last part because the plot didn't interest me enough and was quite predictable.

Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad book per se, but unfortunately for me the main characters are not that extraordinary and the story is not engaging enough for me to read three books about it.

OUT NOW!

Our naive Father Francis Scott and spicy Vitari (Angel) Angelini return on Jan 18th.

Vitari marched up and met Francis face to face. “Tell me you don’t want it. Fuckin’ tell me, right here, that you haven’t thought about it, like we had before.” He whispered the words, hissing some of them, but they still seemed loud, as though the whole of Rome might hear them.

“What difference does it make?” Francis asked. “There are a thousand reasons why we can’t do this.”

“Don’t you think I don’t know that?”

“We can’t—”

“Yes, we can. I’m here and so are you. Tomorrow we might not be.” Vitari stepped closer. His light, gentle fingers skimmed Francis’s cheek, scattering shivers down his spine. “I want you, Francis. I never stopped wanting you. If it was a choice, I’d choose not to. But you’re in some part of me I have no control over. This…” He leaned closer still, his mouth a whisper away from Francis’s lips, his body a hot, firm siren song. “Could get me killed.” He lifted his eyes. “You’re right, it would be easier to fuck women, it would be a whole lot fuckin’ safer, but I don’t want that. I want you.”

Coming Jan 18th.

"Vitari growled a few more creative-sounding Italian words and glanced over. “You okay?” A thin laugh fell out of Francis. “I’m here, in a stolen truck, transporting illegally trafficked people into the Italian countryside, defying a mob boss’s threat, stealing his people, with his son, after he ordered me not to talk to you again— and I’m doing all that because you called me and said ‘Hey, let’s meet up.’” Francis managed a smile. “Oh, I’m doing just fine."

I don't know if it's just me, but sometimes book 2 in a trilogy isn't the best, in that it traditionally fleshes out the plot and the side characters and the world blah blah blah, and whilst all that stuff is really important, as a reader it can sometimes drag a bit and you end up maybe skimming over a few chapters to get back to the good parts with the MCs.

And before you think is this going to be the time Julia writes a less than perfect review of a Ariana Nash book, sorry today is not that day and Ruin Me is not that book! Wow - what an absolutely fabulous second book in the Forgive Me trilogy!

Ruin Me picks up on the cliffy that Forgive Me finished on (and if you haven't read book 1 I suggest you go do that immediately) and it's a rollercoaster of action from the first to the last page - secrets, lies, betrayals, plot twists, revelations, lust, angst, revenge - and of course, the most heinous of Ariana Nash cliff-hangers! But don't despair - another fabulous Ariana Nash feature is that she never leaves us hanging for long.

"His heart thumped in his throat. What if he’d made a terrible mistake? But it was too late now. He’d just made a deal with the devil. Because he loved a priest."

Ruin Me is OUT NOW and we only have to wait until March for the final book in the trilogy, Save Me and I literally can not wait!

"Vitari growled a few more creative-sounding Italian words and glanced over. “You okay?”
A thin laugh fell out of Francis.

This quote pretty much summarizes Ruin Me. Francis has been back to England for a few weeks, while Vitari went back to his life with the mafia, but neither can stop thinking about the other. Francis is trying to expose Montague and the Stanmore Boys home for the abuse that went on there for years, and his investigation leads him to the Vatican, where he crosses paths with Vitari again. Vitari tries his best to forget Francis, but he can’t get the priest out of his head, and when word gets out that there is a price on Francis’ head, Vitari can’t stay away anymore. He needs to stay close to Francis to protect him… Even if it goes against Don Giancarlo’s orders and puts Vitari’s life on the line.

The pace of this book is relentless. From the beginning up until the last chapter, I wasn’t sure of what would happen and where this story would lead Francis and Vitari, and I loved the uncertainty. There are also some lies and double-crossing, so we still have no idea who is really behind Stanmore and who wants to kill Francis, and while it’s killing me not to know who I can trust, I love the complexity it added to the plot. It kept me hooked and it added tension and more mystery to the story.

Both men are even more entangled in the lies and manipulation of the Church and the mafia, especially since it’s being hinted that there might be a connection between the Vatican and the Battaglia. They don’t know who to trust anymore, and who will help them, and they made some calls that might be good, or might be horrible mistakes… I guess we’ll see in the final book how badly they’re screwed.

“If anyone ever touches you against your will, tell me and I will burn them down to ash. I will scorch the fuckin’ earth they walk on. Do you hear me?”

Both main characters changed a lot since the first book. They are slowly becoming more and more alike, in the sense that Vitari is changing for the better, and trying to do the right thing instead of just following his father’s orders. At the same time, Francis embraces his darker side and is not a pure, sinless priest as he was at the beginning of the first book.

There is still a lot of sexual tension between Francis and Vitari (and some smut too), and I think I enjoyed more their romance in this sequel because it felt less rushed than in the first book. Since they went through a lot of shit together in Forgive Me, it’s understandable that they have a strong bond now, and that they crave each other. It was heartbreaking at times to see them both longing and hoping for a chance at a different life, where they could be together, without having to hide their love from the mafia and the Church, but being forced to keep each other at arms’ length for their safety.

The book ends on a cliffhanger (nothing too cruel, thankfully), so I am very eager to get my hands on the finale, and I am super happy that Ariana Nash is a machine when it comes to writing sequels. I know I will not have to wait too long to know how Vitari and Francis’ story will end.

«He wanted to kiss him, like they’d kissed here last night, as though a kiss could say the words they couldn’t speak. Words about a foolish, impossible love of a priest who had turned his world on its head. A priest who had shown Vitari there was sunshine after darkness, if you waited long enough. God, he fucking loved this man. And knew, this love would probably be his end. But it was already worth it.»

Well this title is totally appropriate because it sure Ruined me!

I’m dead… need life support until the release of Save Me #3 and them I can finally rest in peace with Francis & Vitari forever engraved in me 🖤

This one has as much action; it's always moving, with plot twists, Nash shenanigans, and sweet/hot moments that totally blow my mind. This was my first 5-star of the year, and I am so happy!

Ariana is my first MM author, and I've read all of her books, but I can always count on her to be happily surprised and to turn my world upside down with her incredible writing.

Vitari and Francis are the kind of characters that remind me why I'm addicted to reading. Love all their flaws, douts, and kind hearts (yes, even bloody mafia murderers have big, soft hearts). They are just perfect together, and their past stories just break my heart and make me want to hold them in a warm blanket.

That cliffhanger... Damn you, Nash, how could you???

I received an ARC from her, and this is my honest opinion.

I have mixed feelings about this one so we're bringing out my trusty review formula.

THINGS I LIKED
- Character development. We learn more about Francis and Vitari's pasts and watch their relationship deepen. There's tons of "touch him and die" moments if that's your sort of thing and if not, there's plenty of pining and swooning and "I'd die for him" to round it all out.
- The twist at the end. I hope Nash doesn't walk it back. I'm very curious to see how Vitari deals with the blowback (angst, here we come!)

THINGS I DIND'T LIKE
- Francis stupidly getting himself into dangerous situations. It was neither necessary nor "in-character". In short, it felt contrived.
- Not enough heat or UST. The first one was much better in this regard and while this book still has intimate scenes, it's mostly plot (which I don't mind, I simply wasn't expecting low heat).

Overall, this was an enjoyable read though not as captivating as the first one. I will definitely be picking up the third book if only to see how Vitari gets himself out of the absolute shitstorm he's stirred.

I'm really hoping for book 3 to be hot on the heels of this one because, wow. As with Nash books normally, there are some twists. Just when you think you have it figured out, something else comes up.
Francis and Vitari both need a lot of therapy after all they've been through. I love them both. Vitari is so sweet for a mafia man and it's awful what he's been through.
Plenty of action, some steam and a HFN with the couple. Pay attention to those warnings though. There are difficult things inside.

5⭐️ Gah, this book ripped my heart out, in the best way. I love Vitale and Francis so much. Their love and devotion to one another had me swooning hard.
And this sequel is so angsty and sad and suspenseful!

This whole series is so badass. Dare I say, the best mafia romance I’ve read. It’s action-packed, well-written, and romantic without being cheesy or over-the-top.
They’ve both been through so much and deserve peace, and I cannot wait to see their HEA. ♥️

sexy emotionally repressed self loathing men that had something happen in their childhood that was completely out of their control but changed them in a way they can never come back from. don’t let them tell you it’s who you are, it’s just what you do my sweetpea!! born in a world of violence and find such gentle love, which they doubt they are deserving of. love is worship, even if it’s unrequited. they have never and will never feel this way about anyone else. unflinching and amused in the face of death but you will bring them to their knees, desperate, when you point that same weapon at their lover ……….. do not speak abt these boobear bastards without permission from me. (SERIOUS)

“vitari had died doing good, so then it seemed fitting, poetic even, that francis would end his own life with sin.” alexa play beautiful crime by tamer. both of them getting news of the other’s death yeahhhhh i was smiling i love agony i love heartache baby! and these dumb bitches love each other but are too afraid it will be unrequited and unworthy so they keep pushing each other away oh i love this song !!

“is that true? you were sent to kill me?”
“i didn’t know you then.”
“did you lie to get close to me?”
“you know the truth, francis.”

MIND YOU the russians who just broke into his house and shot them are still in the room … like this convo can’t wait babes ?? 😭

“Я не могу жить без тебя.” [i can’t live without you.]
“hm, it sounds… harsh. what did you say?”
“the weather is nice today.”

he frowned. “really?”
vitari laughed him off.
•••
“voglio passare tutta la vita con te,” [i want to spend my life with you] vitari teased, then poked francis’s ribs.
francis laughed, “tell me what you said!”

THESE LANGUAGE BARRIER MOMENTS GET ME SO BAD IN BOOKS !!!!! WHAT DO YOU MEAN HES BEEN TELLING YOU HE’S IN LOVE WITH YOU FOR MONTHS BUT YOU’VE NEVER KNOWN ???

“do you understand? this bullet is nothing, but if…if we’re discovered together?” his eyes said what his words could not. “just go.”
“i can’t.” francis paced. walk away, with him bleeding on the floor? “i can’t do that.”
“fuck, francis. listen for once.”

both stubborn as hell when it comes to each other mhm and vitari calling after francis finally leaving bc he didn’t notice he had no shirt and shoes on sjhskehskeh

“so you’re just going to walk away, after everything?”
“it’s because of everything that I have to.”

The second installment of this series is absolute perfection on every level. Ariana has nailed the contemporary genre; the level of detail that went into this plot is staggering.

Francis and Vitari have earned every piece of happiness they got, even if it may be short lived 👀 I swoon for these two. They can never manage to be apart from each other for long, even if it will get them killed. And they will LITERALLY kill for each other.

I can’t wait for the final act - I have so many burning questions and I just know I’m going to be floored. That ENDING…. Only time will tell if Francis has made the right call.

Once again, after finishing a book by this author, I’m both blown away and annoyed. Annoyed because I’m going to have to wait for the next book. Poor Francis and Angel are still caught up in trying not to let anyone know about their attraction, but they should both know that that is impossible. This is a wild ride of betrayals, surprises, secrets, revelations, and just so much more. I feel so much for both of them for so many different reasons. That end was a shocker, and I am more than ready for the concluding title in this series. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

we truly can't live laugh love in this house????? can we?????

francis and vitari CANNOT catch a break. and i can't either 🥹 i actually really really need a very happy, happier than ever, ending for them in the next book.

"𝙎𝙚𝙞 𝙡𝙖 𝙘𝙤𝙨𝙖 𝙥𝙞𝙪́ 𝙗𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙖 𝙘𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙞 𝙨𝙞𝙖 𝙢𝙖𝙞 𝙘𝙖𝙥𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙖," 𝙑𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙞 𝙨𝙖𝙞𝙙. [you are the best thing that has ever happened to me] they invented love

✦ i loves this second installment. it stressed me out but it was so so good. like i've said about the first one, this might be considered a dark romance but it's very plot-heavy. and the plot is GOOD. in this book secrets of the past come to light, secrets of the boy's home and the church. and it's A LOT. and there's still so much unclear, i'm still so confused on who the bad guy is (or maybe who isn't?????). diaz seems to be the only real one here, we love her. everyone else is FAKE. begging for francis en vitari to have some real allies in the next book because they keep getting betrayed 😭

"𝙈𝙮 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙗𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪"

✦ francis and vitari, ugh i love them even more after this one. their love is just so real, even if there are so many forces working against them. all they want is to be together and to be free 🥹 so simple yet so complicated.

This series just keeps getting better and better; this is the second book in the ‘Forgive Me’ trilogy and mannnn Francis Scott and Vitari ‘Angel’ Angelini are just the most perfect, beautiful, broken protagonists you have ever met. I am obsessed with the priest x mafia vibe and the danger that these gorgeous guys face trying to get their HEA.

At the end of book 1 (Forgive Me) we were left on a cliffhanger; there are dark happenings high-up in the Catholic Church, Angel isn’t sure whether he can trust his mafia family and there are lots of secrets surrounding a now-defunct orphanage. This book picks up right where the last one left off.

The two men have gotten deeper into danger as the web of lies that the church and the mafia are trying to keep hidden start unraveling. Francis is trapped with a monster from his past and Angel is trying to discover where the danger in his family is coming from.

This book was full of anxiety, danger and some smoking hot moments between our two favourite angels as they fight for what’s right and fight to survive in the streets of Rome. This author is so good at creating beautifully fleshed-out worlds, well developed characters and emotional situations that pull at your heartstrings and this book was no exception - it was a truly beautiful, heart-wrenching read.

This book is dark; there are a lot of triggers (violence, injury, child abuse [off-screen and past], homophobia, human trafficking, to name a few) so worth being aware of these.

The book again ends in a cliffhanger but I feel like the guys are fighting their way towards a truly beautiful HEA… at least I sincerely hope they are 🙈💕 The ending of this book definitely leaves them in a better couple place, (if not a better place…) overall!! I am obsessed with this series and cannot wait until the conclusion in March 👀

Thank you to the author for a free eARC of this book! all opinions are my own. ‘Ruin Me’ is available on 21st Jan, but you will need to read book 1 ‘Forgive Me’ first, which is out now!!

"The forbidden, the unspoken.
This was love.
But it could never be."

Ruin Me is the perfect title for this book because after the events that occur in it, Francis and Vitari have pretty much ruined each other for anyone else. This book was chock full of bad guys and as usual with Nash's writing, I have no idea who to trust. Everyone has a conflicting story, yet it seems like they have all had a part to play. Nobody is coming out of this drama innocent, not even our beloved Father Francis. Speaking of priests, how many of these mother fuckers are going to be popping out of the woodwork as evil sons of bitches!! If you can't trust a Priest, who the hell can you trust? This conspiracy runs deep my friends. DEEP. I have a feeling Vitari and Francis have only just scratched the surface of what is really going on.

"He'd just made a deal with the devil. Because he loved a priest."

As far as Vitari and Francis' relationship goes, lets just say that has been quite the rollercoaster as well. They are both desperate to protect one another, yet their decisions seem to always come back to bite them in the ass. One place where they have absolutely no issue is the bedroom. The steam between these two is full of passion and desperation. It's pretty much hot as sin, which is ironic given Francis' occupation.

The ending of this one is more of a soft cliffhanger, but I'm guessing what happens is going to have major consequences that will play out in Save Me. I sure hope that Francis has some idea of what he's doing, because whether he meant it to or not, his and Vitari's lives are going to depend on it.

I was excited to see again Francis and Vitari, and I definitely more connected with the second book !! I was so not expecting this, and enjoyed it very much !

While investigating Standmore and to put some distance from Montague, Francis goes to the Vatican in Rome where he would feel more secure. Vitari is also in Rome, despite his father’s warning he cannot let go of Francis, sparse night calls are the only ones he has and it’s not enough. When he learns that Francis’s life might be in jeopardy and that he’s in Rome, he has to see him.
The sparks between them are sooo intense and still there, they’re just connected and cannot sever the link without tremendous heartbreak.

The plot is taking an interesting turn, more investigation, more revelation and that ending !! I want to know what’s coming next, Francis truly surprised me I love the evolution of his character, I finally connected with him, his past, his trauma, his fight between his love for a man and his devotion to God and the path that he likes. He’s going beyond everything and becoming so much stronger.
Also impossible to not feel for Vitari, the pressure, the weight of secrets, and his inner conflict with his father.

Sooo excited for the final instalment !

I’m so glad the final book isn’t out until March because I’m going to need at least that long to recover from this one😭 This book had me tremendously stressed out but it was worth every second I promise!

Francis and Vitari really don’t get a break do they😅 if it’s not one of them causing trouble it’s the other! We love them for it though. I am super excited to see how everything plays out from here and I can’t wait for my favourite boys to get their well earned HEA.

Also I should be used to these plot twists by now but they get me every single time and I’m never expecting them. If that isn’t a sign that Ariana is a literal literary genius then idk what is🤷🏻‍♀️ (p.s mrs author lady if you are reading this I will trade you my firstborn for book 3, I know I said I can wait but I really can’t) ⭐️5/5 🌶️4/5

If I had a watch that recorded my heart rate throughout reading this book, it might’ve showed I was at risk for a heart attack.

+ my heart for Angel is soul deep, that man needs vengeance.

+ THE PLOT TWIST, what the FUCK???????

+ Vitari stroked his knuckles down Francis’s cheekbone. He was the most precious thing in Vitari’s life, worth more than all his possessions combined. This man, with his soft brown eyes and painfully innocent face, had killed for Vitari. He’d saved Vitari’s life, costing him his soul. Vitari wasn’t worth it, he didn’t deserve him, but he’d do everything in his power to keep him safe, to protect him. Maybe… love him, even though Father Francis Scott deserved so much more than a broken bastard like Vitari.

Ruined in the best way

I’ve never met a more apt title as this book absolutely ruined me!! And. I LOVE. It. The thrilling twists, the devilish turns, I’m still reeling and it is the best feeling. Everything Vitari and Francis do is sinfully swoony, deliciously dangerous, and I can’t get enough.

“I’m going to ruin you all night.” Vitari pushed in between Francis’s knees and nudged his mouth open. “This is no place for guilt, Padre. You can do no wrong with me.”

Ahhhh, these men and the lengths they’ll go, the lines they’ll cross, and the deals they’ll make to save one another are equally devastating and invigorating. My heart is racing, only time will tell how the pieces will fall, but oh how I wish I could speed up time.
