Before the day… before M-day… people used to read books and watch movies about zombies. They used to dress up as zombies; pretend to kill zombies… Basically, zombies had become a part of popular culture in a very unexpected way.

The highly anticipated zombie apocalypse never came.

What did come was much worse than any city over run with shambling corpses after brains and flesh. A virus… a virus that only affected men. Nobody knew what caused it, or where it had come from, not that it really mattered. It's here and there’s no going back.

Maxine was one of the lucky ones--she got out alive. She and her friends banded together to survive the new desolate conditions left behind by the virus. When a supply gathering mission goes awry, Max and company are left with no better choice than to trust a group of uninfected military men. No longer on the run from her infected husband, Max discovers there could be worse dangers for her on the horizon… Like losing her heart to her mysterious savior everyone calls Zee.

Imagine a post apocalyptic world where instead of reanimated flesh eating corpses there are crazed men. Men who's not only senses are amped up but have just their basic primal urges. This isn't your normal zombie story, this is M-day.

I must admit that I'm not a huge reader of dystopian novels. Especially when it comes to zombies. So when I saw that D.T. was writing a post apocalyptic novel I thought "zombie?! Esh!". Yeah, they really freak me out. However, I was glad that the book has nothing to do with flesh eating zombies. Instead we get a bunch of steroid idiots running around causing havoc. Okay, so maybe they aren't on steroids but sometimes they reminded me of someone with roid rage. So I was quite happy that there weren't any real zombies walking around in this book.

D.T. took your typical "military looking for suped up soldiers" story and turned it into an erotic tale. The men who are infected not only have heightened senses but they have an incredibly high libido with no morals to balance it out. So yeah, just let that stew for a minute and you will get the picture. It was definitely a new and refreshing take on a popular theme. But this isn't just a dystopian erotic romance... there is a lot of grit to it. I found myself on more than one occasion cringing on behalf of Max. I mean, this world that she lives in is messed up and there isn't really any hope of things going back to normal.

If you're looking for something dark with an erotic twist that this would be right up your alley. This definitely isn't a feel-good romance. You well be horrified and disgusted at some point, I can almost guarantee it. If you weren't than the author wasn't doing her job because post apocalyptic (in my mind) is supposed to be horrifying and she hit the nail on the head.

This book was all over the place. The chapters are super short so that seems to affects the flow of the book. The author skips scenes that would have been nice to read or have more explaining too. The author also has a bad habit of showing memories but they seem to drag on and on and have no reason to the story. Then she consistently reminds you of the I-men and what they are as if you didn’t know that 100 pages ago. I think the story could have been great but this author failed. Someone else should have written the story. The sex scenes are blah. They aren’t hot or steamy. They end super quick just as fast as they were written. The rape scenes really aren’t even rape. I have read way darker twisted books and this doesn’t even touch it.

A year ago if you would have asked me who my favourite author was I would have said I didn't have one. There are too many awesome authors writing work that I love to be able to pick one. But my 10 year old daughter asked me this very question yesterday and my immediate reaction was D.T Dyllin. Sorting through my top books from this last year and it's easy to see why. Every single book that I have read that this woman has written I have loved. While I may be patiently awaiting the newest book in one of my favourite series to be released I am literally sat waiting for the next book that Dyllin has penned, whether its the latest in an existing series, or the first book in a new series of books like this one. So when she asked for people to Beta read this I of course jumped at the chance.. Like i'm gonna pass up that opportunity... Slipping into Dyllin's books is like comfort food or a conversation with an old friend. It's something you look forward to. And M-Day was no different.

From the very first page I was pulled into Max's world with ease. A world where women live in fear of the men, both the men of their past and the men they are yet to meet, thanks to the virus that has turned the men into monsters.

I think only Dyllin would be able to write a world where the men terrorize the women and yet still be able to give us a smoking hot romance. From the very first scene together there is something explosive between Max and Zee that has you hanging on the edge of your seat waiting for the next interaction. Max is the kind of woman I would want to be friends with, she has that kick ass attitude but she is also protective of her friends, putting her life on the line to help keep them safe, but she also has a vulnerable side. A side that needs rescuing from the man that used to be her husband... until she realizes that she can rescue herself. Usually when we get a really strong female lead in a book the other women are usually portrayed as weaker versions who need protecting just to balance it out, but not in this case. Max has found herself some 'sisters' who are just as ballsy as she is, especially Evo who doesn't have a problem telling it like it is, and able to hand you your ass on a plate if need be.

One thing is for sure, Dyllin has given us not just a great new book to sink our teeth into, but a whole new series set after M-Day that will focus on other characters. While we get to meet Izzy and her new man Brandon in this book, I'm really hoping we get to see some more of Evo.. I have a feeling this chick needs to get laid ;-) Either way, it promises to be amazing and I cant wait to get my grubby little hands on it.

*Book source ~ Kindle Lending Library.

On December 21st men the world over woke up changed by a virus. Ice blue eyes and a primal savage personality were the norm for them and women everywhere were being brutalized, enslaved or outright killed. Maxine woke up to a completely different Ricki, one who raped and bit her. When he left her alone, she ran from her husband and no matter where she went he seemed to find her though she managed to stay just out of his reach. Hooking up with other women they find moderate safety in numbers, but it’s a temporary fix. Ricki will never stop until he has her in his control. It’s kill or be killed and Max isn’t sure she can lop off the head of the man she loved. When she meets Zee, a man who is only partially infected, the last thing she’s looking for is hot sex with a stranger, but it’s all she can think about when she’s around him. Or even when he’s not there. She has enough on her plate already without getting it on with one of the few men who doesn’t appear to be infected, but how do you say no to raging hormones?

This is an interesting twist on the zombie apocalypse in that instead of mindless brain eating zombies of both sexes this virus only affects men who act as if they’ve gotten amped up on steroids or something. They heal quick, have super strength, senses and speed and most have been reduced to mere primal instinct with little logical thinking or planning. When Max and her friends find out there are actually men who aren’t infected they can’t believe it. A scientist in a military compound with the other non-infected is trying desperately to find a cure, but before he can do that the compound is attacked and they must flee.

It’s a great concept and this story would have been wonderful if it wasn’t so choppily written. It also needs further editing. Trim a bit here, shade some there, embellish a bit and fix some errors and you’ve got a top notch hot paranormal read. The sexy steaminess is wonderful though. I could really feel the heat between Zee and Max. Woo doggie! *fans self* Beware though, there is some brutality in this and some readers may find it to be too much. In addition there is some gruesome head lopping. It didn’t bother me, but I’m just sayin’. All-in-all I enjoyed this tale and would definitely read more about this strange new world.

I just want to point out the positive first. Without a doubt the premise of this book was extremely original. A complete new take on a kind of sweeping aggressive virus. Unfortunately, there ends the positive for me. Honestly, others may have a whole different perspective on it but for me the following ruined the book and had me whimpering for my 2.99 back....( What can I say...I have kids and am broke:)..The beginning looked promising with the exception of Evo the friend I most want to trip in a zombie apocalypse. Then there is our girls extreme mood changes and a story line that moves all over the place. We never get the chance to settle our emotions anywhere and at the end I got whip lash. Her love interest is an ass, I'm not talking alpha male ass... no, more of a strange and creepy I will sniff your panties while you sleep werido. I just never connected....kind of similar to the snark of the characters. FYI...snark is not being a bitch. It's a delicate balance to achieve yes...but no one wants to read about a rude woman that should have been left outside with the critters. I had high hopes and am still baffled why none of the reviews included this info. There are rape and molestation scenes but it never emotionally touched me. Our character did not respond as woman that had been victimized and she flip flopped back and forth. A book is hard to write and since I haven't written any I applaud the author for her hard work. I feel bad to leave this review but I am still a customer and I wish someone had pointed out the obvious to me and saved me a few bucks. If Evo fell down a rabbit hole and died and our girl got put on some meds...Then I would give this series another shot.

One day most of the men of the world woke up infected by a strange virus that caused them to become violent and sex-addicts. Now women around the world must fight to survive in a chaotic world.

Max, or Maxine, is running away from the monster occupying her husband’s body. With the company of two friends and a bunch of men unaffected by the virus, they will fight to survival, kill the enemy and try to find a cure.

This is not a romance or an erotic book. M-Day is a book about a dangerous world where violence, abuse and death are a constant. The way men act and behave because of the virus is not pretty at all. The reality presented is cruel and the physical and psychological abuses are present. The story contains all the horrible things that you can imagine and maybe more.

Despite this, there is a bit of romance but you have to remember that the background does not allow the typical fluffy romance with flowers and sweet words. When your life is threatened at all times the “love” comes in a rough and fast way.

The characters are all great! Max is a kick-ass woman, strong and brave. Her friends are really opposite but they make a great team. Zee, the hot man in the story, has a captivating story and is the perfect match for Max.

The story moves really fast, there is action present in every page and the characters don’t have a minute to rest.

Overall, M-Day is an exciting, fast passing, intriguing and full of adrenaline book. It has a well thought plot, good characters and it is well written. This installment has the potential to be a great series.

This is one amazingly written spin on Zombies. I am very selective about my zombie books, so I was a little iffy going into this one. I just KNEW it was going to rock, because it’s written by D.T. Dyllin – but I was surprised at just how much I loved the story. In case you didn’t get the feel of it – this is a novel of the erotic sort. Which just adds a whole new level of “well then” to the zombie theme lol.

Maxine and her friends have gotten so lucky by dodging all trouble during this insane mess. Let’s also remember that she’s on the run from her infected husband. Their luck runs out when they have to trust a group of military men they come across when their mission of gathering supplies goes very wrong. As if she doesn’t have enough to worry about, like staying alive and far, far away from her husband — she has to manage these feelings she keeps having for one of these men. She also wants to know just why this virus only affects men. She has such a biting attitude and I love it!

Zee.. that’s what they call him. He basically appoints himself Max’s protector. He refuses to her ex “take back what is his.” This turns into one big game of a cross between hide-n-seek & cat-n-mouse. D. T. Dyllin wrote a novel that is full of suspense, alpha male-ness, strange happenings and a gripping story line. M-Day sucked me in from the very beginning and I cannot wait to see what happens next!

I received this book to give an honest review. Does contain a SPOILER

Hot damn D.T. is one bad ass writer. She has up and done it again only this time she has you captured with men who have a virus that changes them for the worse and lots of sex. The only problem I truly had with the story was when Maxine was kidnapped and her friends came and got her out. How were they able to do that? It just seem to jump from her going through hell, being humiliated to bam! Being rescued, I would have loved to have read how her friends and Zee did it.

I was in awe of Maxine and her friends they have dodged danger on all accounts and have survived from M-day. But when Maxine meets Zee well sparks fly, danger comes near to not only her but her friends. Can Max be rid of her husband forever, what exactly is this virus and why does it only affect men?
I have to say my favorite character was Evo! She was a tell it like it is, all up in your face, jump right into the mix type of female and it was awesome. I do wonder if D.T. will add more to this book as give us more of the other characters. Each character within the book will have you like them. Izzy is more of a romance girl, Zee is our knight in shining armor. Bradon is will a nerdy scientist.
Overall a damn good book and one that I would recommend to all my friends who want to sink their teeth into a different kind of zombie book with a bit of sex that is GRAPHIC! Bad ass main characters, a story line that will keep you hooked.

I received this book from TNT Reviews for an honest review.

When I started reading M-Day, I was sucked into it so quickly. The story line was epic and after the first chapter I was left salivating for more.

As I continued, I began to get more disappointed. There were times I felt I needed more from the plot.

After Maxine was kidnapped, it felt as if a part of the story was left out, because the next second she is being rescued and one doesn't know how they planned it, or how they got into the highly guarded compound.

I also felt that the sex scenes were so depraved that it detracted from the plot. I understand that it was in integral part of the novel, but it left me feeling sick.

A book with so much potential in the beginning but failed to measure up in the end...

SADLY 1 star from me...

I absolutely loved this book it was exciting and different. A virus only effecting men and they basically turn into caveman how genius is that. The only issue I had was the author played back scenes from before with Ricki but she never went into details regarding plans or emotional feelings. I kind of felt cheated by that and I wanted to know that stuff.

Overall the book flowed naturally and it was unpredictable. I liked Zee and thought he was a great hero. I also liked the heroine max and hoped she got her shit together which she did in the end. I cannot wait to read about evo she is sarcastic and loyal good combination.

This is the first book I've read while using this app. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. However, I agree with other readers on the aspect of the lack of detail. There were numerous situations where the author could and should have elaborated on more. I mostly read Laurell K. Hamilton's works, so I hold pretty high standards when it comes to details and depth. All in all it was a good short read. I finished it in a few hours and enjoyed every minute. :)

Jumping into a world where a virus has effected almost all men and turned them into violent cavemen of sorts, and following Max and her friends as they try to stay alive and avoid becoming slaves to the I-men.

This book really sucked me in for page 1 and i loved it! A totally different take on zombies and it keeps you hooked! Can't wait to see what happens in the next book.

This book put a whole new spin on the apocalypse genre where men are the only ones infected and they don't necessarily turn into no-brain zombies but scary raged up guys.

It made for an interesting read with it being Valentine's Day and all.

A totally different take on the end of the world as we know it...... A virus but not a Zombie virus..... a virus that only attacks men and turns them into roided out sex maniacs. Good story!!!! Gonna read the next book ASAP!

Interesting story. Very insta-lovey-and not exactly realistic. The scenes in the middle with the husband are brutal and graphic.

Exciting, entertaining and truly one of a kind. I've personally read my fair share of zombie/romance type novels, and this is hands down one of the best!! Highly recommend!!
