Nikolai Starukhin dragged me into his dark and twisted world. Chained my fate to his. And now I’m pregnant with his baby.
You know how the story Girl runs away from home with a dream and goes to the big city. She meets her knight in shining armor, falls in love, and finds her happily ever after.
I only wish my story was this simple. Because Nikolai Starukhin is no knight in shining armor. He kidnapped me so that I might pay for the sins of my father.
He trapped me in my wildest fantasies. He ensnared me with promises to protect me.
And in the process, he forced me to become a player in his dangerous game. Where losing means paying the ultimate price.
But my life isn’t the only one at risk. It’s also the life of the baby that we made together.
To make matter worse, the person coming after both of us... Is my own father.
And neither he nor Nikolai will stop until the sins from their shared past are paid. No matter who they have to hurt. No matter who they have to kill.
UNFORGIVING SAINT is Book 2 of the Starukhin Bratva duet. NOT a standalone. You must read Book 1: UNFORGIVING SINNER first.
This book contains scenes that may be disturbing to some readers.
A throughly enjoyed this duet and Nikolai and Eden’s story. There were some great twists and turns and although it’s not necessary to read BARINOV BRATVA trilogy it gives some context to some of the secondary characters. When I reviewed BARINOV BRATVA one of the things I didn’t like was the all the back and forth and not trusting each other. This duet in particular this book shows Nikolai and Eden standing together to solve the problems and twists and turns that happen. I really appreciated that.
I did like Nikolai & Eden together and the story behind them however this should have been a single standalone book. Book one I knew who and what the Brigadier’s were and what they wanted and made me angry Nikolai was so stupid and naive. I said in my review on book one that a real Pakhan would never have tolerated their behaviour and insubordination and he continued this stupidity through this book. Eden was talking to Paige at 77% in and was still so weak and naive about both the bratva and committing to Nikolai and her Lanzzare family on her mother’s side. The author shows Eden as a very sheltered naive girl and even the things she said and did making her sound like a bratva queen supposedly she at this point isn’t strong enough yet. Personally the author should have done a one and done book as this has loads of repeats and their thoughts and words are repeated in both books. I did enjoy the story and I did enjoy their relationship but their story was dragged out and Nikolai wasn’t a very strong Pakhan and both were selfish at times but it was an overall good read. I would rate 3.5 due to how weak Eden was I just didn’t think she was the right character for the bratva.
The story continues in this book but the relationship is off at beginning through part of the book . Question of day is why her books say the end then at the bottom have a Epilogue that you have to go to a website for instead in the e book ! Over all story was good but I don't need the shit of downloading from a Appstore I don't know or trust. She needs to get her Act together and stop Lying about the end of her books. People don't like to buy from liars. I'm sending to he set back to unlimited if only she didn't lied I might have bought the set of 2 . NOT now.
I didn’t care much for how the first book was written (in terms of editing and grammar) and this one was worse. I’m a bit disappointed in myself for buying this but I just wanted to know what the author was planning and how it was going to wrap up. Honestly, parts of the MMC and MFC were interesting (personality-wise) but as a couple it didn’t make sense and it bugged me that the MFC was only 18 years old…. Also, some odd time jumps and I feel there was some continuity errors between some chapters.
This book was a little bit all over the place. The fact that the last ten minutes of the book closed the story out was honestly disapointing.
I read the first book and enjoyed it. However, in the second book she's pregnant and you don't really see anything to do about the baby until Christmas time? I felt like that whole plot could have been dropped and the story would have been a lot more cohesive.
This duet could’ve easily been one book. There was so much unnecessary back and forth, it just got old and didn’t add much to the story. I don’t mind a lot of twists and turns but done of them just seemed repetitive—and some of the stuff with Mercy should’ve been in a different book.
I really liked the idea of this book. But I definitely don’t feel like it needed to be a duet. From the first few chapters you can already guess what is going to happen. I liked both of the main characters for the most part, they were both selfish in their own ways but at the same time loved the other unconditionally. I didn’t like the fact that the same arguments were repeated over and over. It felt like they were both just talking in circles every few chapters that I found myself skipping through a majority of the second book. Overall I’d give this duet a 3/5. I probably wouldn’t read again.
Eden and Nikolai's story should have been one book. The second book dragged on addressing the same old topics but never moving forward. I felt like there was too much time spent on unnecessary dialogue and banter. I am really tired of "baby scape" that has become common place in this genre. How about doing a story that doesn't include the h getting knocked up when she is being held hostage. It has become a boring predictable "cliché". I am also tired of the pomp and circumstance surrounding these forced/fake/sham weddings where everyone pretends that this couple is marrying for love only for it to turn into a blood bath. So much time spent on wedding planning only to have it blow up in their faces. There were elements in this book that gave the illusion of it being a period peace vs., a story done in real time that was a bit disconcerting.
Eden and Nikolai's communication wasn't great throughout most of this duet. The only thing they had in common was their sexual attraction. They really never took the time to listen to one another and never really completely connected until the end of this book. There's was a relationship of on-again and off-again periods throughout the 2nd book. I felt that both characters often acted childish and reckless.
Eden's dad was a real pain throughout most of the book. Instead of coming clean to his daughter and to Nikolai he drug out his story far too long. Of course there was the usual bad players in this story who were plotting against Nikolai right under his nose. It took him way too long to figure out who they were.
This book was exciting, non-stop action from beginning to the ending! It kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen to Nikolai and Eden.
I really enjoyed Nikolai in this half of the story. He finally got his act together and started thinking for himself. I loved how he was with Eden and was willing to show how devoted he was to her.
Eden was harder for me to like here. She was very hot and cold about the Bratva all throughout the story. I also didn't like how quickly she was willing to unalive her father, yet she was so upset about all the people getting hurt because of her. She needed to more consistent but I did like that she stood up for Nikolai and their relationship.
I really appreciated the strong female characters woven throughout the story and I really loved how it all played out in the end. Overall it's an uplifting story about love conquering all with lots of action packed moments. It was a nail bitting finish going right up until the end to know what happens. There were some sad parts and some interesting twists mixed in along with plenty of spice. I really enjoyed this story! It was well written and very entertaining. I would definitely recommend it!
Part 2 picks up right f/book 1, & it’s none stop action, suspense, & some really WTF moments. We finally get answers regarding Matvei & Aria’s deaths, & who the traitors really were. There were moments I really wanted to scream at Eden. She started out as a naive girl who knew absolutely nothing about the world she came from, & she turned into a strong woman, but she was also becoming someone I didn’t like. I didn’t like how she used her pregnancy to blackmail Nikolai into doing something. And for someone who didn’t know anything about the Bratva & that world, she was outspoken & too demanding. She put her baby at risk repeatedly & was impulsive. I was glad to see Larissa’s anger towards her for being selfish, Eden totally deserved it. One of the best moments was when Zhanna & all the ladies stormed in to save the day! I really enjoyed Zhanna she was an excellent character. I really enjoyed this duet. From start to finish I was hooked.
It is much better than the first part of the book. The part where Nikholai and Eden are forced to be apart brought me to tears. But love triumphs. Even if it’s just in book. I love reading how the bad guy is defeated. I love knowing that the good guys triumph even if the good guys in the books are “bad”. I like this better than the Barinov trilogy, I felt that trilogy was a little dragged but this was good.
I twists were not actually twists and you were waiting for them to happen, but you cannot help but cheer and smile when it actually happens. When the part when one of the brigadiers takes Mercy, and is killed instantly, made me wish if it could have been prolonged just so to send a message that no one messes with a woman and gets away.

Book 2 was just as incredible as book 1. Eden and Nicolai’s story is one for the history books because it involves two people from enemy territory and they are all out for revenge. And it tests their relationship at every turn. Eden and Nicolai must stand firm and fight for what is right in the end and take out all those that are after them. They fight and lose and fight some more. Truly showing that love is a powerful thing. It won’t be easy but they must to get their happily ever after. People from all sides come after them and they stand against and fight against everyone even their own. Great job Brook on another incredible book.
Clearly this author is not for me. I so wanted the second book to improve, but for me, the story rambled on aimlessly, the ridiculous behaviour of her father, suddenly set on killing everyone was far fetched to say the least. Nikolai was as unconvincing a bratva boss, as Eden was at becoming a badass queen! I did try until a third of the way through the book and just decided I really didn't care any more. The plot needed to be much tighter, faster paced and developed and it just wasn't. I am surprised at all the 4/5 star reviews as to me this book was lacking compared to other Bratva/Mafia authors out there.
This book was so much worse than the first one. Very little happened in this book, and it was very mixed up, in my opinion.
Grammar/spelling-wise, it seemed fine. I didn't see any blatant issues there.
Story-wise, though, this book was a muddled, mushy mess. They are so in love one minute, then doubting each other the next. Then, they are getting married, but then they aren't even allowed to see each other? Nothing was consistent, and it was all over the place.
Honestly, this duet could easily be one book. There wasn't enough for 2, and the stretch was weird.
This is the second book in this intense, action-packed bratva duet showcasing Eden and Nikolai's evolving relationship. Danger, violence, grief, heartache and passion surround them. Power struggles, betrayal, nefarious plans and a vendetta threaten to destroy Nikolai and Eden's bond. "It's a dangerous tightrope for love, revenge, and family." There are many plot twists and turns, and finally secrets are revealed.
A very satisfying, if somewhat sentimental conclusion to the duology. To say that they've had to overcome obstacles to their love would be to put it very mildly. No doubt Eden & Nicholai will have plenty more problems to contend with in the future (where he leaves his dirty socks, who's squeezing the toothpaste in the middle!) but all is a rosy glow as the pair bow out of our view. This left me with a smile on my face, which is never a bad thing.
Oh my gosh! Unforgiving Saint was sooooo good! The danger, the suspense, the love!!! The characters from previous duets was great! I just kept rooting for Eden and Nikolai. And their story touched my heart so much that I sobbed!!! I love that they get their happily ever after!
Im really conflicted on how I felt about their story. I felt it skipped around and a lot of the times the writer lost her thought or it was multiple writers. This book didn’t need a sequel it could have been completed in one. The story in some parts were rushed and in others dragged on.
I love all things mafia/bratva and I especially love long stories where you can really delve into the characters. This duet did not disappoint! Both characters really grew throughout the story. They both discovered who they really are and what they really want. Very well written.
Just like the first book the story line is amazing so many twists and turns had me fighting to put it down . The characters are well described and their point of views are very well detailed. I do recommend the barinov trilogy it's amazing aswell
I loved the ending and am sad their is no more. Not gunna lie i did skim around 40% just so many names and it was hard to connect all the dots. But i did finished and I loved it
Took a long time to get to the point, and the vague things said through out the book instead of saying what they meant was annoying til the end. The pahkan acted like a wet noodle
Some will like the many, many mafia wars and many separations and reunitings between the hero and heroine, but there were just too many for me. Other than that, the book was well written and the spelling and grammar were very good.
Eden is stuck between Nikolai and her father. Both think they are in the right but have they been played? They both love Eden and need to work together to get their common enemy
It’s an up and down story with some strange twists and turns . I wanted to love it but there was just not enough of the feels for me. Hope you enjoy it though!
I love reading Brooks books. But these ones didn't seem as well put together as the other ones. I wish there was more indepth character development, and not as much jumping around. Especially in the same chapter, from one paragraph to the next.
