My Rating: 2⭐️⭐️ this had promise but it ultimately just let me down!!
The 50/50 killer preys on couples. He manipulates their love for each other and makes them play a game. He stalks them, tortures them and then forces them to choose. What is going to break first? Their will or their love for each other? Only two things are certain one will die and the other will have killed them.
WOW this sounds so good… well don’t be fooled… it wasn’t. It certainly had promise and some of what is in the synopsis starts off… but ultimately it was a huge let down.
I wanted to read about the killers brutal attacks on the couples and how he divided them and destroyed them as promised in the description… but it turned out to be a story of a copper that was on the edge and someone who was just out to fck with him.
Sure there were some twists there is no doubt about it but… I was waiting the entire book for something to be more interesting and then when we did have a couple kidnapped and trapped it was a stupid lacklustre outcome… I just really didn't enjoy it.
I felt like it was such a waste of time.. I paid like $15 for this on kindle cause I was so keen on reading it… and I feel like I deserve a refund.
Overall, nope… don’t bother… it was boring and it was stupid.
The 50/50 Killer was another really solid thriller from this author. I’ve read quite a few of their books now and they are always good, easy to get into, and hard to put down. This one kept a good pace the whole way through and I found myself wanting to keep reading to see how it would all come together.
I really loved the twists at the end. Just when I thought I had it figured out, it changed direction and made the ending a lot more satisfying. The characters were interesting and the storyline was a good mix of police procedural and psychological thriller.
Overall, a good solid read and definitely worth it if you enjoy thrillers with a few surprises along the way.
As far as I'm concerned this was a terrible book and I really struggled to finish it. It did absolutely nothing for me - found it very weird and hard to follow.
Have read several books by Alex North and really enjoyed them but unfortunately I cannot say the same for this one.
Big disappointment for me and above average price on Kindle.
Dark crime thriller - jumps around alot between characters. Some of the side plots don’t add anything. Would have been better with more character depth
