I was hooked to this trilogy from the first page of the first book! I read the first book in less than three hours and started reading this book right after. The story continues where the last book ended and let me say, things are starting to get interesting between Rebecca and Nicholas. A fantastic sequel and I’m looking forward to the last book in this amazing trilogy!
Rebecca Gellar thought life would be simple once she moved to New York. That she’ll kick butt at her new job at StoneHaven Publishing, hopefully get her own place, and finally move on with her life—without any drama. But fate had a different plan for her when they handed her Nicholas. Now Rebecca can’t stop thinking about her hot boss. But there’s more to Nicholas than the attraction that exists between them. Still, she can’t explore what that could be because not only is he her boss, he is also engaged to someone else.
Nicholas knows one thing for sure: he’s screwed. Not only is he attracted to his assistant, obsessed, really, but he also is engaged to marry a woman he does not love. As the attraction for Rebecca grows stronger and stronger, will he be able to resist her for much longer? If not, what will this mean for them? And is what he’s feeling for Rebecca purely lust, or something more? Is he willing to risk a fallout to find out?
I’m obsessed with Rebecca and Nicholas’s story! Just when I think I know what’s going to happen, the author pulls a twist that I didn’t see coming. What I enjoyed about this book was how much I understood Nicholas, compared to the first book. Don’t get me wrong, he can still act like a bastard sometimes, but he also has this sweet side I can’t get enough of!
I highly recommend this book! If you’re new to this series, I recommend reading the first book before this one. Otherwise, you’ll be lost.
My favorite quotes:
She watches me as I take a single strand, pull it between my fingers, and then watch it spring back. I smile, amused by the simple motion of her hair.
“Even your hair defies me.” I whisper, staring at her lips.
“My assistant, Rebecca Gellar…”
“I remember her. She’s a pretty one.”
“I think she’s the devil in disguise,” I admit.
“It must be the hair.”
Kiss me, Rebecca. A tear escapes, running down his cheek as he stares back at me with a pleading look.
“Nicholas, what’s wrong?”
“I need you.” His words are a broken whisper.
