This book of poetry is a wonderful anthology of poems and art capturing the spirit of America. "Poet Charles Sullivan has brought together over one hundred poems-by famous as well as lesser-known poets-that tell of historical events, the natural beauty of the landscape, the great American promise, the people who inhabit the land and their inner conflicts." The book is also illustrated with one hundred works of art. This collection of poems would be most appropriate for middle and high school students to study both famous poets and the history of the United States.

52 Books in 52 Weeks Challenge 2018: Read an historical nonfiction book.

This was decent. I'm not a huge poetry fan and honestly, I didn't understand a lot of the poems but the combination of art and poetry was really nice. It was a good way to read just a little before bed to wind down. If you like poetry, you will probably really like this one.

10/21/23: UPDATE: Used to own this but got rid of it - or used it for pictures/bujo - maybe. Not sure, but no longer own it whole.
