Hidden for millennia, Theodora’s world of Athumia has been discovered by the remnants of the defeated gods. Facing extinction upon the Doomed Worlds, the gods cast envious eyes towards Theodora’s final creation – a land ripe for the taking.

On Athumia, the civil war between the dragons of the Dominion shows no signs of ending, while on the tiny Serpent Isle, Lahnos mourns his losses, unaware of the looming disaster that threatens his world.

Confronted by her true identity, will Lyla be able to stop the gods before they lay waste to Athumia; and will she ever see her children again?

About Me

I love deserts, which is too bad as I live in Scotland, but the mountains, glens and lochs more than make up for it. My other love is Greek Tragedy, especially Euripides, and I also read history, science, fantasy, and pretty much anything about the Beatles…

Yet another great read...

I just can't imagine getting to the end of this series. I am now beginning to think I'm actually living within these pages, minus the strange and weird powers possessed by some characters. The power of a book to bring you into its pages is really fantastic thanks to an amazing author.

This whole series has been my favourite thing to read ever, I will more than likely re read them again, I love, love, love it.

When karalyn re-emerged in the Dominion series my mind was blown.

The world building and fantasy are so creative and it stays away from traditional fantasy such as “Elves & Dwarfs” (although it does have dragons but I love dragons)

This book was everything I needed and wanted it to be. If the series ended here I would be very satisfied! We have all the Dominion main players and their story continues. We have a few new gods thrown in and we travel most of known Athumia. Sable is not sure what she will find when she goes to Athumia looking for Karalyn. It seems impossible that someone she watched die could still be in existence. Lahnos is in mourning and the only remaining leader of Zamata at the moment. He feels overwhelmed and does not want the job (did he ever?) This book moves at a very fast pace and did not get stuck in small unnecessary details. I mean when Sable sets her eyes on a mission that is definitely the only focus!! This is my absolute favoirite book of the series and it brought everything together in the outstanding writing by the author while he continued to character and world build. I know that there are a few more books coming and I cannot wait to see what will happen next!! Highly recommended!!

I was an ARC reader for this remarkable series and have nothing but the highest praise for this author and his stories. Once again he delivered a great piece of work that kept me engaged from the very first page through to the very last word. Anything that I write in this review feels inadequate to describe just how fantastic this latest installment is.

Many of the Dominion characters continue to contribute to the overall story although some are present only in a supporting-cast role. Beloved characters from previous Magelands series' dropped in for a visit and in fact played key roles in the story; and, that in itself greatly increased my love for this book. So many unanswered questions were answered and the answers were so satisfying to receive. The twists and turns brought about unexpected and very gratifying results. (I'm picking and choosing my words carefully so that I don't give too much away. Spoilers are the worst!) I can't wait to see where Christopher Mitchell takes us next.

This is absolutely my favorite Magelands book to date!

Oh my goodness what an amazing book. I've been following the story line from this series for some time and this is the culmination of a brilliant series. I cried, i smiled a lot, I read this in 2 days and couldn't put it down. My joy at seeing past characters, new ones getting better and better. An actual ending where you know it's all done and dusted and happily ever after.... or... is it?. I can see a new series emerging and I can't wait.
Christopher you have done an amazing job bringing the characters to new depths. I so love Sable and her energy, her disregard for systems, her loyalty. Karalyn emerges the winner in this and I'm very grateful as she deserves happiness.

Christopher’s writing style and imagination transports you with ease to a world of intrigue and adventure with unexpected twists and turns, and wonderfully complex characters.

If you haven’t read Christopher’s books before I highly recommend you try one of his series. If you are already familiar with them, stop reading the reviews and click ‘buy now’ as you know you need to get this - two worlds finally meet and it is amazing.

Fantastic!

A real triumph of a series. Fast paced & engrossing, another "can't put down" book by this amazing author. Such an amazing series - I didn't want it to end! You need to keep your wits about you for this series, there are so many characters & stories within stories.

I absolutely loved this book. When I started the Dominion series I was skeptical whether I would like it after World's End. As always Christopher Mitchell is a genius and pulled it all together and I was crying by the end of it.

Great ending to the story series and with twist and turns at every page to keep the suspense. Thankfully there is more to continue in future series with same characters.

As per usual Chris has written another another fast paced Magelands story, this time concluding the Dominion series that sees the return of some familiar characters from previous books namely Sable Holdfast who is one of the main characters in this story, Sable is a fantastically written character and her adventures always make me smile, the wider Holdfast clan appear as well leading us up nicely to the upcoming last stories to be told in the Magelands worlds. If like me you have read all Chris has written this wont disappoint. The master of epic fantasy triumphs again.

Tempest's Edge: An Epic Fantasy Adventure (The Magelands Dominion Book 6), my twenty-sixth read from prolific author Christopher Mitchell, 461-pages of epic fantasy. With 43 books published over 4 inter-conncted series it's no wonder that when I want to read epic fantasy I first look for author Christopher Mitchell. I look forward to reading more from this author, in fact Creator of Worlds: An Epic Fantasy Adventure (The Magelands Dominion Book 7) is already on my TBR list and it won't be published until November of this year.
