Elven Chronicles #5

Return of the Legend

Rate this book
The Elven world is evolving and Daroth is set to guide in a new era, but not as King of the Empire. With the Grey Elven King Ingwër, the Crown Prince Elrohir of the High Elven Kingdom, and King Garoldth at his side they are preparing to recall the Counsel of the Elves. It is a new beginning for their world and they have every intention of reclaiming the glory the Elven Empire had once enjoyed. Can they do it without the knowledge and talents their people once took for granted? Will the fates smile on the Empire and grant them their fondest wishes?

As Kingdoms begin to come together and they begin to rebuild the world as it was known before the wars the Empire reforms. New Life Mates are brought to light and the Elves begin to question how much has been lost through the millenniums and since the time of the ancients. There is no one who can answer the questions forming in their minds. The library of the ancients, which could give them all the information they need, has been lost and with it the knowledge it holds. Or is it?

A random discovery made in a pile of scrolls. Choices with unforeseen ramifications acted on in haste. It all comes to a head as the Elven world evolves, and a message from the past is carried from Garoldth’s Kingdom into the Elven Empire. It brings the words of an ancient warrior to the attention of the Kings who would rule the Empire. It is a missive from one Warrior King to another. There is no questioning whom the message is from. Only one held the name written within the scroll, and he was King of the Empire when the ancients were at the pinnacle of their power. A King meant to rule over Kings. In the history of the Elven people his name was and still is legend.

LOTHRARIEL, WARRIOR KING OF THE ELVEN EMPIRE.

This is the 5th book in the Elven Chronicles Series. I would suggest you read the books from the beginning to help keep track of who everyone is and belongs to-especially all the children!

The story picks up with the Kings still in King Garoldth's kingdom. They have discovered the scrolls in the Library of the Ancients and some are read. They sense a change and it's the veil coming down. Gabriel and Eden have sensed a presence come through the veil and it turns out to be Lothrariel, The Warrior King of the Elven Empire of so long ago. Also, his warrior brother, Rothiel and also a Tratchar comes through. Rothiel has never left his brothers side and when Lothrariel went into the veil, Rothiel followed. They are both weak and hungry. It will take them a little while to get back their full powers. They have noticed all the changes since they've been gone and are very pleased how things have turned out. They go to King Garoldth's kingdom and when the Kings realize who he is, they all pledge their fealty to him. Lothrariel had written some of the scrolls to help protect against the Demon Hordes and that is also why he put up the veil. He also hoped to eventually unite all the kingdoms. Lothrariel's older brother, King Rumil had also left a message for Lothrariel for when he returned. They find out King Garoldth and his ancestors are the descendants of King Rumil's therefore they are related to Lothrariel and Rothiel.

The one window Gilraen brings to her father is good and bad news. King Garoldth's older brother Golradir, who they thought was dead all these centuries, is alive but barely. He has been a captive and tortured by the Demons. Now they are going to plan on how to rescue him. Many of the Kings sons are finding their Life Mates. Lothrariel and Rothiel, also find out about their Life Mates . Lothrariel has quite a wait for his.

There is so much happening in this book, you'll just have to read it for yourself. I only covered a miniscule amount of it, but I just loved this one. Find out so much about the High Kindom and how they lived in Lothrariel's time. There are some funny part too. This series is just so awesome and if you love Elves, this series is definitely for you and I highly recommend it. Can't wait to read the next one!!!

This is an ARC copy

This book truly wowed me. The best one I read so far in the Elven Chronicles. It was about everything. It has the answers that the Elven Empire were looking for. The appearance of the legendary Elf and his brother was spectacular! And the leaders from each kingdom uniting for one goal, to bring peace to the Elven Empire. I loved how it has its usual happiness and the easy banter while things were serious. It made everything light. And we saw again the unqiueness of Gilraen's gift. It was truly great book to read. It ended great and perfect that the story can and will continue to the next book. Looking forward to it!

My ratings of the series so far:

Book 1: 4 stars
Book 2: 2 stars
Book 3: 4 stars
Book 4: 2 stars
Book 5: 4 stars

... I see a pattern here. lol. Still, I'm extremely excited about reading the next 2 books, because I really covet to know more about those characters.

I'm not even sure what to say about this series. Definitely that it is VERY different from everything else out there. I truly adore that. I might have rated some of the books in this series with 2 stars, but mostly because I just couldn't connect with their main characters. I am completely captivated with the world building, I just would never dare to stop reading these books, I crave to know what will happen next too badly. While some of the characters are more interesting than others, I truly admire how different they are and how real this world feels. And this is something weird to say when you are describing a book about elves, lol, I get it, but the writing is very eloquent and descriptive.

I think I have not been able to rate the books with 5 stars because I still feel like something is missing. It took 5 books for the plot to build... We get the feeling like something will happen very soon, but it never does. Still, it's nice to see the elves living in peace and enjoying a break, specially after such atrocious wars.

I can't wait to read the next book. I just don't get why any of my goodreads' friend aren't reading this series. I just wish I had more people to talk with about it... PLEASE, PLEASE, READ THIS SERIES! I'm dying to see other opinions!

Ms Abraham has done it again. I loved this book and the only thing wrong is I wanted more. Gabriel and Eden were a good part of this story as they as two of my favorites that made me very happy. The life mates getting together was so fun and I loved Vandamir'a way of doing it so much it made me cry . Lothrariel and his brother are fascinating characters and I can't wait till Kings Daughter to find out how what was started in this book is finished in the next.Lothrariel is so powerful. What he can do is awesome. Won't get into what happens as it is not due out to Feb. But don't miss it it is a great read.

M.A. Abraham has done it again with Return of the Legend, a fabulous story that joins all the leaders from each kingdom together to help bring the Elven Empire back to their original glory. But it will take a legend from the past to put the pieces together. It is an excellent and fun story, with almost everyone from previous books participating. Though at times, I had no idea whom many of the sons belonged to which king. Lol I do enjoy being able to spend each book with our heroes from the previous books, like Eden, Gabriel, Marious, Serinity, Daroth, Haylo, Tamarak, just to name a few.

All the Kings are still in Daroth’s kingdom, and shortly after scrolls are discovered in the Library of the Ancients, with some read to the Kings; they begin to notice that something has changed. It seems the veil is dropping, causing deep concern.

Gabriel is the first to sense something coming through veil, and we meet someone from the past, Lothrariel, the Warrior King of the Elven Empire from long long ago. But he is alive, and with his brother, they pass through the veil and join the Kings. The story focuses on how Lothrariel wrote some of those scrolls to protect all from the then rising demon attacks. Now that after all these years, the demons have for the most part been defeated, and he comes back to help rebuild the Elven Empire to what it once was. Together, Lothariel will work with all the kings, but there are some issues that need resolution, including saving Garoldth’s brother being held prisoner for a thousand years by the demons. The majority of the story revolves around the kings uniting together to share the knowledge to restore the lands to its previous glory, as well as coming up with a plan for rescue.

As is Abraham’s trademark, these books are lots of fun, as more of the young sons of the kings are finding their mates. With the successful spell by Eden a couple of books ago, Daroth’s elves are all having children and the land is becoming more prosperous. Each of the Kings want Eden, Tamarak to come to their lands to enact the spell, so their people will start producing children, which has been missing for years.

The story ends well, but also opens the door for Lothariel to be a main part of the next book in this series. As I noted above, M.A. Abraham writes a wonderful light story of elves, with romance, action, and just plain fun. Return of the Legend continues this trend.

A good sequel and still a few Life Mates bonds in the making but this book was not as exciting or as much fun as the first books. Too much talking and planning and not enough acting in my opinion.

I still love to read more about my favorite character, Gabriel and Eden, and we have the pleasure to discover more characters coming from the far past.

However, I just can't wait for Aredhel's story. She and Liessen are going to b explosive I am sure!!

The king returns

As more elves appear, the strings tying them together become more complex. Minor characters find life mates, and true ancients reappear. The ancients are the focus of this book, but they do not appear until halfway into the plot.
Again solid writing and exhilarating relationships keep me coming back.
