ARC provided by Harlequin Trade Publishing and NetGalley in exchange for a honest review. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Rating 4.0

Wow this one is NOT a lite read. LOTS of emotions and heart.

This couple's story is one I have been waiting for. You felt the angst, chemistry and animosity come through in past series.

The mystery of what the heck happened between theses two is solved but boy it was a roller coaster of a ride. Landry and Fia's love story isn't for the light hearted, that's for sure.

They have a past and it finally comes back full circle.

It's them now confronting it and working through it. Making some honest observations and confessions. Communicating them with each other and learning forgiveness and compromise.

But in the end happy to see they all got their HEA.

Very angsty. I wished the couple would’ve got there sooner. At times, it felt like a very slow burn despite their history. Also, going down memory lane would’ve been nice. A bit of their moments together when they were teenagers so we can compare how they’ve changed as adults.

I liked it but I wasn’t crazy about this.

This was a book that was a long time coming with Landry and Fia and what happened between them. I had all type of guesses based on the hints throughout the series. When the reveal came I was really disappointed because it wasn’t as shocking or surprising like I thought it was going to be. I kind of guessed the first part of the secret so it just didn’t seem like a big deal.

Then a majority of the book had Landry and Fia deal with the toxicity of their relationship in the past and the present. There was a lot of issues, trauma, and pain that they had to work through. While I did appreciate the work they did, it made the book drag a bit because that was all that was happening. The romance part really wasn’t according until the last third of the book.

I loved the stuff with the King and Sullivan families coming together as they surrounded Fia, Landry, and Lila as they were going through this raw and emotional situation. The interactions between sisters, brothers and the family in general brought a lightness and humor that it needed to combat the darkness. It was just great to see that love and bond they all had with each other. That was a big highlight for me.

I did like Fia and Landry together especially at the end as the romance finally started to happen. They had some sweet and romantic moments as well as some passionate ones. The build up was there as they got to that point, but I felt like there could have been a bit more pining and angst going throughout the book not just the end. It needed to show that they still had that electric connection even if they were dealing with deep things in the process. I just wanted more romance.

This is a Second Chance Cowboy Christmas Romance, and this is the 9th book in the Four Corners Ranch series. I ended up DNFing this book because the characters drove me crazy. I just did not connect to the characters, and I felt some of the characters did not act their age. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Well, after the set up for Fia and Landry’s relationship throughout the series, it was pretty satisfying to finally find out what went wrong between them.

I really liked these two. They’re both passionate, loyal, and so full of longing it was delicious. They’re also a bit headstrong, so there’s a lot a lot a lot of open discussions and understanding about the past that has to come into play before the relationship goes anywhere.

Plot wise, it’s good. There isn’t the amount of tension I was expecting, it’s more of a slow meandering that I’ve come to realize is how Maisey writes her stories. I truly enjoyed seeing both sides of the family rally around Fia and Landry and Lila and while the ending felt a bit rushed, the epilogue was satisfying. I’m definitely going to need to read the next story for a glimpse of this new family.

Overall, it was another quick read with characters who were so easy to root for.

**Huge thanks to the publisher for providing the arc free of charge**

From "love at first sight" this is a book has all the feels. Family comes in many different forms. Some choices are not as simples as one might believe. Fate has a way of showing that no matter the path you end up where you are supposed to be.

Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin for this early read.

This is such a heartwarming story, that brings us back to the Four Corners Ranch. Even though this is part of a series, it can definitely be read as a standalone. This is a second chance romance.
Landry King and Fia Sullivan were high school sweethearts.
They both came from homes with questionable parents. So when Fia found herself pregnant at 15, she felt the only option was to adopt the baby out. Landry had a different opinion. But Fia felt that they were both too young and wanted the best for their daughter.
So for the past 13 years, they have still had to work together. Neither one of their families could understand why they were always at each other and constantly bickering.
The one thing Landry did do is he made sure that the adoption agency had his name and number just in case his daughter wanted to meet him when she got older .
As it turned out, their daughter, Lila’s adoptive parents were killed in a car accident. After being in foster care for a year, they finally found Landry number.
So Landry went and got her and brought her back to the four corners ranch. He had her home for about three weeks before Fia found out.
I don’t want to give any more away, so I highly recommend that you read this and you may want to have some tissues near.

I had been waiting a long time for Landry and Fia's story, which in some ways did not disappoint. The central plot point, which I won't spoil, is really interesting and I found it pedagogical if you will, but in the end, it felt more like an essay than a love story.

I received from the Publisher an a complimentary advanced digital review copy, in exchange for a honest review.

Maisey Yates just gets better and better with every new book, and she certainly proved that in this 9th installment of her Four Corners Ranch series. If you've never read any of the books in this series, Hero for the Holidays works just fine as a standalone, but having read the other books in this series would certainly make more clear the relationships with other characters in this novel. For this reader, it more than earned this 5-star rating.

First, a trigger warning. If teen pregnancy and giving up a newborn baby for adoption are issues for you, you may want to pick up a different novel in this series--all of the previous 8 books are excellent reads.

Landry King, aged 16, and Fia Sullivan, age 15, both came from broken and/or troubled homes, and despite that, they fell in love/lust, and were crazy about each other. Their escape from those broken households ended in Fia becoming pregnant, and although Landry wanted her to keep the baby, instead, she left town while 7 months pregnant, found and lived with the family she carefully chose to adopt her baby, and came home, satisfied that she'd found a good, loving home for her baby, and that she'd done what was best for all concerned. To say that Landry had no part in this decision and was enraged by what she had done resulted in 13 years of angry silence between the two--and they lived on neighboring ranches. Landry searched for and eventually found which adoption agency Fia had used, contacted them, and left his name and address just in case his daughter ever wanted to find her birth parents, and 13 years later, his daughter, Lila, finally does contact him--her adoptive parents had died and she had nowhere to go and no one else to go to. Well, Landry still wanted her, and he brings her home, all without telling Fia, with whom he's rarely spoken in the past 13 years.

What follows is one of the most angst-laden, heartfelt and heartwarming, second-chance novels I've read in years, as Landry and then Fia, have their first chance to co-parent their 13-year-old-daughter, who tells them at the outset that she's already had a mom and dad, whom she loved and missed, and she didn't want or need another set of parents.

Lila's presence in their lives, and their love for her, finally forces Landry and Fia to deal with their 13 years of animosity, anger, fear, and sense of betrayal, and that's as much as I'll say since I don't do spoilers, but I will tell you to keep your box of tissues handy, because I certainly had a need for mine. This was a fabulous read and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this novel. The opinions expressed are my own.

Maisey Yates is an author I turn to for complex family dynamics and deeply emotional romance with a western flair. I like some of her books more than others but she’s an author who has never let me down. Her newest novel, a second-chance, lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers story with deep emotional underpinnings just may be my all-time Yates favorite.

Everyone on the Four Corners Ranch knows Fia Sullivan and Landry King can’t stand each other but nobody knows why. Those of us who have been reading this series don’t know why. Hero for the Holidays opens with that reason and, boy howdy, it’s a doozy. What follows is a roller coaster of emotions as Fia, Landry, and Lila navigate the life-changing events that have been thrust upon all three of them.

What I enjoyed most about this book is the evolution of these characters, both individually as well as a family unit. I like how Yates leaves no stone unturned in the development and evolution of Fia and Landry as she guides them through a present-day reflection of the turmoil of their teens, something they had never talked about, helping them forge a new understanding of decisions made at that time through the more mature lens of the people they are today. It’s a gradual process, with ups and downs, as is to be expected when you’ve spent years believing you’re 100% in the right about something only to realize maybe you shoulder some of the blame. Their individual growth paves the way for forgiveness, understanding, and a chance to rekindle an old love in a more balanced, mature, and enduring, though no less fiery, way. These two have chemistry!

Lila offers another layer of emotion, complication, sarcastic humor, and hope as only a young teen whose life has imploded can. She’s authentic, relatable, and has a firm grip on my heart, as she does with Landry, Fia, and the entire King and Sullivan families. She’s the heartbreaking - but ultimately healing - catalyst for the changes that are long overdue in Landry’s and Fia’s lives. I laughed with her, ached for her, loved her. She’s one of my favorite characters of this entire series.

Hero for the Holidays is the ninth book in the Four Corners Ranch series. While several characters and couples from earlier books are featured in this book, Yates has written the story in such a way that it can be enjoyed as a standalone. I’ve read all of the books and it’s fun to catch up with other characters but I don’t think starting with Hero for the Holidays would lessen the emotional impact of Fia’s and Landry’s story. It might, however, make you curious enough to pick up the other eight books.

Hero for the Holidays by Maisey Yates: Landry had a daughter. To be correct, he had had a daughter for thirteen years, but now her adoptive parents had been killed and someone had found the note in her file at the adoption agency and they had contacted him. There she was; he was overwhelmed. He took her back to the ranch and introduced her to his family, none of who had any idea. But there were harder introductions before him. Theirs was a unique situation, four ranches, known collectively as the Four Corners, had entered into a partnership wherein they each ran their own ranch but they voted on expenditures to be made and new projects and such. It was the new generation whose parents had all let them down in one way or another. It was working. But this, he wasn’t sure. It was just a matter of time until Fia Sullivan saw Lila and knew who she was. He hated her for what she had done so long ago. But, she had been right: the two of them, at sixteen and seventeen, with horrors for home lives could not have raised this child. She hated him for how he had reacted but there would be a reckoning, very soon.

Fia had taken over management of her father’s ranch at eighteen and made a success of it, differently than anyone had expected, partly because of the collective. She was tenacious and creative and she was making it happen. Landry worked with his brothers on a more traditional ranch but was looking at expanding into other areas which he hoped would produce income. When they had been teens, they had been each other’s refuge. He, from an abusive father, and she from a cheating one and a distraught mother. Their hormones had taken over and that had produced a child. Now, due to a random auto accident they had another chance. This book was so many things, but mainly emotional. They talked to one another and hashed through all they had felt tgeb and felt now. They talked about their daughter. They caused me to stop and think more than once. Well written by Yates, full of feels, full of new beginnings. It was more than a cowboy romance, so much more. Such a unique plot. Good book.

Whew! This book is heavy. But it’s also hopeful, joyful, and gives a fantastic HEA.

If you’ve been reading this series, you may have been anticipating this book as much as I was. I feel like I’ve been waiting forever to discover the root of the animosity between this couple. As everyone at Four Corners Ranch had their theories about why Landry and Fia could hardly be in the same room together, so did I. Their back story is even more tragic than I had assumed.

There are a lot of things that happen in this book for “romance reasons” and you just have to go with it. From the way Landry ends up in the life of his daughter who was given up for adoption 13 years ago to the way Fia learns of Lila living at King’s Crest with him, on and on. All that being said, this book also does a lot of heavy lifting when it comes to women and girls, their rights, how the world looks at them as opposed to how men and boys are viewed, choices, options, etc., etc. This bit of wisdom from Fia after Landry tells her he feels like an emotional preschooler next to her is a case in point:

“Because the world only demands men ascend to the emotional level of the preschooler, Landry. That’s the problem. So if it seems outrageous to you, it’s only because I don’t thing you realize how much is asked of women.”

BOOM! Mic drop.

Yes, in real life this story wouldn’t be so neat and tidy. That’s not to say there weren’t raw emotions on the page, but through it all I knew there would be a happy ending. I’m still going to say this story is so important in this day and age. It brought me the things I love in my Romance books (love, chemistry, butterflies, happiness) while also discussing important issues without cramming those issues onto the page without thought. It all flows smoothly and plays out organically.

I’m so glad there are more books in this series so I can watch this little family grow in the background of the other stories.

Let me start by saying this: this book had a ton of potential. I loved the characters. I loved the back story. I love the idea of adoption and bringing the two lovers back together. I love the emotion. I love the theme of love at first sight but love requires a lot of work, forgiveness and faith. I love the ending. Actually the ending wrecked me. I was in tears for a number of chapters. My heart is full for the true Christmas miracle for EVERYONE involved. Overcoming trauma and capturing the true fear of love is REAL. I’m also a sucker for a good sex romance and you do get that in this book. I really love how the author gave us the emotion behind the sex, actually probably better than some other “sexy” books.

However, I was lost with the middle of the book. It seemed like a lot of pages just repeating storyline. There needed to be more substance or more to the book and less pages on the same story. It created a sense of boredom awaiting the next pick up. The emotional and sexual connection didn’t really pick up until the end. I respect why it didn’t; I think that adds to the story, but it left the center of the book with not very much emotion or connection, regardless of the sexual aspect.

I would enjoy talking about this book with others just to see how they felt. Based on reviews alone, my opinion seems to stand out (which is totally fine). For that alone, and the ending of the book which completely wrecked me, I would recommend this book, but I’ll say there’s a lot better cheesy Hallmark Christmas stories out there.

I would give Maisey Yates another try for sure. Aside from the only reason stated above, I was a fan.

Maisey Yates brings us back to the Four Corners Ranch series. We meet Landry King when he brings home his thirteen year old daughter Lila. Turned out that no one at Four Corners knew about her and they all get a surprise when he introduces her to his family after she loses her adoptive parents. While Landry and Lila are attempting to forge a new relationship, things get even more complicated when he has to confront the rest of the families that make up the compound. Landry and Fia have always butted heads over everything and things will get even more complicated once he shares his news.

We get to read and see how everyone reacts to the news of the newest member of their family and community. How will her appearance impact everyone? Will Lila and Landry be able to see past their hurt and everything that has come before to become a new family? Read to see how Fia reacts when Landry is back in her life and not just in passing or meetings. Will they be able to separate their past from their present after their short lived romance all those years ago? Will the Kings and Sullivans be able to forge a new future that benefits everyone at Four Corners and for their families? You also get to check in with the other members of their families from past books and look forward to seeing more from this series.

I have read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I would like to thank NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing | Canary Street Press for this privilege.

Title: Hero for the Holidays
By: Maisey Yates
Pub. Date: October 22, 2024

Genre:
Fiction, Women’s, Romance, Westerns

Trigger Warnings:
Family drama, adoption, foster care, trauma, lies, secrets, loss

*I knocked off a couple stars for adult content. Some are just mentions, others are spicier, however, the overall story was too suspenseful to just stop. (Chapters 7, 14, 17, 20, 23)*

Favorite Quotes:
“We were…nothing but broken.”

“It was love. The kind of love that had made a hard decision.”

“Sometimes loving somebody with everything means being willing to let them go.”

Summary/Review:
Laundry King harbors a deep yearning for the child he gave up for adoption—a decision made against his will. He ensures that the adoption agency has his contact information, hoping that when she turns eighteen, she will reach out to him.

Fia Sullivan made the heart-wrenching choice to place her baby for adoption many years ago, a decision she has never been able to forget. At just fifteen, she was too young to care for her daughter, so she found a loving couple to adopt her, trusting that her child would be in good hands.

Now thirteen, Lila has lost everything she once knew and is being shuffled through the foster care system. When her case manager reveals that her biological father wants to connect with her, Lila embarks on an emotional journey in "Hero for the Holidays." Part of the Four Corners Ranch series, this is my first novel by Maisy Yates, and it stands alone beautifully. The characters are deeply relatable, and the minor characters add rich layers to the family drama. This is a fast paced, tear jerker.

Thank you Harlequin Trade Publishing and NetGalley for the E-Arc of Hero for the Holidays.

Plot: Fia Sullivan and Landry King have extensive history. Landry ends up showing up at Four Corners Ranch with his biological daughter who recently lost her adoptive parents. Landry wants the opportunity to prove that he can be the father that he always wanted to be; however, Fia steps in and has other plans. Fia struggles being around Landry and he struggles being around her after the dramatic past that they share. They are forced to put aside their differences and become adults. In doing so, sparks reignite.

It is astonishing how Maisey keeps pumping out great books as quickly as she does. Somehow, she is able to fit in a large quantity of story into a quick read. This book pulled on the heartstrings As a parent, I felt lots of emotions with this one with the storyline of Lila, Landry, and Fia and losing Sunday. I was a little disappointed in the lack of Christmas in the holiday themed book. I also felt like the ending was a bit rushed and could have been drug out a little more.

Landry is your typical country cowboy. He is head strong, passionate, and wants the opportunity to prove that he can be the father he’s always wanted to be. I kind of wish that he had a little bit of a mouth on him. However, even though he didn’t, he was still yummy to read about.

Fia is a fiery red head who is strong, resilient, determined, and willing to work with Landry to make their situation agreeable for both of them.

If you like these:
🐴 Second chance romance
🐴 Small town romance
🐴 Accidental pregnancy
🐴 Family drama
Then you will love this book. Well done!

Hero for the Holidays by Maisey Yates is the newest of her Four Corners Ranch Series (#9). The novel is full of Kings as we get insight into that part of the Four Corners Ranch. The novel also finally allows us to understand Fia and Landry. Everyone assumed that something happened between Fia and Landry, but no one knew what caused the hatred.

Landry is in the middle of adopting his daughter Lila. Lila was orphaned by her adopted parents and Landry, her biological father, was approached to adopt her. Landry was thrilled and went through all the obstacles. Landry brings Lila home to his family and she is immediately accepted, however gossip being what it is Fia finds out. She is Lila’s biological mother and with some push gets Landry to agree to co-parent with her. Lila is a 13 year old who has a head on her shoulders and seems to want to spend time with both parents. It is through this that the Four Corners Ranch finally learns the secret of the animosity between Fia and Landry.

The novel is a wonderful mix of navigating the past to find the future and serious hotness. Hero for the Holidays allows the joys of parenting to shine while figuring out the everyday. I enjoyed the novel, meeting the Kings, and Lila. Hero for the Holidays by Maisey Yates is a good read.

Hero for the Holidays by Maisey Yates is a story of old and new loves converging in time and space. Landry King never expected to get a chance to know his daughter but here he was driving her back to Four Corners Ranch. When he got the call that her adoptive parents had died and she needed new placement, he couldn’t believe his luck. He didn’t get a choice in her being given away, so first chance he got he made sure the adoption agency had his information on file. Now he is finally getting to be a father to his teenage daughter. How he will explain this to his family he hasn’t quite figured out yet.

Fia Sullivan avoids Landry like the plague. Ever since their hot and heavy teenage romance ended abruptly and all but destroyed her, she kept her distance. She doesn’t think Landry cares too much either. When she realizes he went behind her back to expose her most gut wrenching secret, she doesn’t know how to feel, or what to do next.

Fia and Landry need to find common ground to be able to survive this incredible secret and protect themselves from what is to come from their families and their neighbors. Can they see past their destruction to ignite a new spark? This newest Four Corners Ranch release is a rollercoaster of emotions. Great characters will leave you wanting more.

Landry King was expecting a quiet cowboy Christmas—not instant fatherhood. But when he finds out that Lila, the teenage daughter he never knew about, suddenly needs him, his world turns upside down. And just when he thinks things can’t get any more complicated, Fia Sullivan, his high school sweetheart, is back in his life. Years ago, young love led to big decisions and even bigger heartbreak, but now, with Lila needing both of them, they have to figure out how to navigate co-parenting, unresolved feelings, and a Christmas neither of them saw coming.

This book is full of emotion, second chances, and small-town charm. Landry and Fia’s history makes their relationship so much more layered, and watching them go from heartbreak to healing is chef’s kiss. The setting of Four Corners Ranch brings all the cozy, close-knit community feels, and while the story leans a little heavier on the emotional side, there’s enough holiday warmth to balance it out. If you’re new to the series, you can absolutely jump in with this book, but if you’ve read the earlier ones, you’ll appreciate the deeper connections to the town and side characters.

I’m giving Hero for the Holidays 4 out of 5 stars! It’s got heart, holiday magic, and just enough cowboy charm to keep things engaging and emotional without being too heavy.

This was a good story overall but I personally would have liked to have seen the storyline focus more on Fia and Landry's romance and relationship than what it did. But that's just my opinion.

However, I did still enjoy reading the book so I'm giving it a 4 out of 5 stars.

One of my favorite parts of Hero for the Holidays was when Fia realized that she still had feelings for Landry after all of the years they were apart along with the scene where they go to pick out a Christmas tree.

These were a couple of my favorite lines/quotes from Hero for the Holidays;

"He had been the boy that her fifteen-year-old heart had raced for, and now he was exactly the man that her twenty-nine-year-old self wanted to climb like a tree."

"But the other problem was that Landry himself was just undeniably hot. His whole cowboy thing had always done stuff to her. That white hat, his tight shirt. His tight jeans."

This is a good book and I think that anyone who loves reading cowboy romances would really enjoy it. And I have several more of Maisey's books on my bookshelf that I look forward to reading eventually. 🙂

Hero for the Holidays is part of Maisey Yates Four Corners Ranch series. This is the story of Landry King, youngest of the King brothers, and Fia Sullivan, eldest of the Sullivan sisters. As the story begins, Landry has traveled to Portland to meet the new love of his life, his daughter Lila, and it is love at first sight for Landry. A teenage affair brought about her birth to two troubled kids. Her teenage mother did what she thought was best for her child’s future and relinquished her baby to a loving couple who desperately wanted a child. And Lila did have a good life until a tragic accident robbed her of the only parents she had ever known. It took almost a year for the authorities to get to her adoption records where Landry had placed his contact information just in case his daughter ever wanted to find him.

Now, Landry and his daughter make their way back to Four Corners Ranch where the actual tale begins when Landry springs Lila on his family at dinner. As they settle in to daily life it becomes imperative for Landry to speak to Lila’s birth mother and that they develop a plan. And this plan is the backbone of a lovely story of reconciliation, reunion, and new beginnings. I very much enjoyed this book as I have the series and I do recommend it!

On the Four Corners Ranch Landry King brings home Lila, a teenage daughter, for the first time. No one has ever known about this and this starts the rumor mill. Lila has lost her adoptive parents and desperately needs a family. The untamed cowboy, Landry, at Christmas time welcomes Lila and becomes a father he’s never been able to be since her birth. Now he has to deal with his other hugh regret.

Fia Sullivan just hates Landry King and it has always been. It’s been since their drastic teenage love affair heartbreak up years ago. Hearts were broke into pieces and have never been healed. Fia’s ravaged and also secretly happy when Landry digs up this kept painful secret. Is it possible for them to overcome this painful heartache for a family and new love this Christmas?

This is my first Maisey Yates book and won’t be my last! I thoroughly enjoyed it! It was original, witty and imaginative during this Christmas season. Showed how to love in so many ways and what it really means. It was a heartfelt and warming story! Will have to go back now and start the series from the beginning! You won’t want to miss this one! Heartwarming!

Thank you NetGalley and the publishers in letting me read this book and allowing me to leave an honest review.

Years ago Landry King and Fia Sullivan once had a thing. No one knows for sure what happened, but it’s been obvious ever since that the two of them can’t stand the other anymore. But when Landy gets a phone call that his daughter who was put up for adoption is now an orphan, he heads out to take her home – and if everything goes well, he’s ready to officially adopt her and live as father and daughter. Fia can’t stand Landry, but when she learns that Lila is back, she wants her chance to be the mother she couldn’t have been thirteen years ago. But as Landry and Fia try and navigate parenthood together, old wounds come to light, and the two of them will have to decide if they can leave the hurt in the past or if they’ll forever be at odds with one another.

I loved this! We finally get the full story of Landry and Fia and it was worth the wait. I loved seeing them navigate parenthood and try to get past the nonsense between them. I loved the healing the two of them go through together, both individually and together, and the way they interact with Lila was amazing. It was awesome seeing the two of them forgive each other, and seeing Lila flourish on the ranch was fantastic. The romance was fantastic, the spice was great, and the healing and emotional drama was just enough.

Landry and Lila had a child when they were young that was given up for adoption. When Landry is contacted by the adoption agency because the daughter recently lost her parents and he wants to do everything he can to have her back. Lila never expected her child to have ended up in the system, she was hoping for the best when she gave her child up and now that she is back in the picture she and Landry left to learn how to become a family.

I really enjoyed this book there was so much going on. Landry and Lila had a thing in the past and clearly those sparks never went out. But now that they are older they have to learn how to be in a relationship in a new way as parents to a teenage daughter and it was interesting in seeing how they work together to do that. I enjoyed getting to learn about them and seeing why the child was let go in the first place. And it was interesting seeing how they got through the holiday season as a newly formed family. Overall pretty good book I really enjoyed it.

Maisey Yates has done it again! I was so happy when I found out Fia Sullivan’s book was next! She has been a mystery to me and I was so curious why she hated Landry King so much! I was not expecting a child!! This book was a rollercoaster of emotions for sure! I cried so hard while reading this because I could see the hurt from both of their perspectives. Definitely not a light read so please be warned. The ending was a fantastic conclusion to their story!

You will love this book if you like:
Western
Grumpy x sunshine
Slowburn

Hero for the Holidays can be read as a standalone or as part of the series. If you love a good slow burn Western romance, this just might be the book for you!

Thank you to Maisey Yates, Harlequin Trade Publishing, Canary Street Press, and Netgalley for this opportunity.

4 1/2 STARS!

All of the angsty goodness we always expected from Landry and Fia plus some! Maisey Yates is so good at delivering a hero and heroine that we can believe in time and time again when it comes to her Four Corners Ranch series. The Kings, Sullivans, McClouds and Garretts have laid their hearts out one at a time to find love as they continue to enrich on the partnerships that enriches all of their homesteads. This particular book has been a long time in coming because we have felt the tension between Landry and Fia since the very beginning and just knew there was going to be some turmoil to come. I couldn't have loved their story more!

I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series to anyone who loves a good cowboy romance with strong female leads and family galore as the supporting cast.

I wish I could give half star ratings on Goodreads. This one was a very high 4 star for me. Now that I know there are 9 books in this series...it looks like I have a lot of catching up to do.

First of all, thank you to the author for writing about main characters who are in their 30's. It was so nice to read about characters who have already seen a bit of life, but still need to figure some things out.

I thought the built up to the relationship between Landry and Fia was fantastic. They have such history in their relationship and I thought that the balance between their relationship and them both building a relationship with their daughter was excellently executed.

Landry is also a Taylor Swift fan...and if you give me a cowboy who loves tswift I am instantly going to swoon.

I received an ARC for Harlequin Trade Publishing in exchange for an honest review.

Another in the Four Corners Ranch series, in which Landry King bring his daughter (previously adopted as a newborn by a couple who have since died) home to the Four Corners Ranch when he is contacted by the foster care worker. Now he's got to contact the woman who birthed the child 13 years earlier, but how is Fia Sullivan going to react? Landry has no clue and isn't sure he wants to find out, but Lila deserves to know her birth mother.

So begins a gradual working through of the pain both Landry and Fia experienced after the secret birth of that child and how each has moved through their respective lives since then. Now their lives revolve around the girl they both adore, but will this mean they also get together in ways they didn't dare as young teenagers themselves?

Hero for the Holidays was such a good book to spend time reading it. This is the first book from the Four Corners Ranch Series I have read. I am going to start with the first and read them all. The characters were go fun to be with.
The main characters got a chance to find each other again. The chemistry between them jumped off the pages and I was anxious for them to figure out what they wanted in their lives.
Maisey Yates is a new author for me, and I am glad I found her.
Thank you NetGalley, Maisey Yates and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the copy pf Hero for the Holidays. This is my personal review.
