The time-bending comedy series that brings history to life with humour, adventure and heart.
Maddie, Astrid and Alice have been given the ability to travel through time and are dedicated to using this power only for the most important of purposes.
So, when Alice uses time travel to bring her favourite cow four hundred years into the future, this not only causes friction between the time travellers but also with Astrid’s nosy neighbour. Neighbourly conflict comes to a head at a pub quiz event and Astrid is compelled to travel back to 1066 to prove her quiz knowledge is supreme.
Prepare for time-travelling ghosts, dodgy council bureaucrats, dodgier Norman disguises and the Battle of Hastings as you never saw it before.
These raucous and twisty novellas are perfect for fans of Jodi Taylor
Praise for the Time Jumper
“…comic genius kept me reading.”
“Intriguing time travel story with some ingenious twists.”
I love this series it's so clever and refreshing I want more And more The characters are wonderful, well written and thoroughly likable I really hope there's more in the pipeline for Maddie ,Alice and Astrid
As with their other stories, this series is a smart, witty, and quick jaunt through the daily absurdities of life. All 4 books read like an episodic serial. They never feel like the story itself is complete and leave the reader wanting more. In the previous books the trio are on a mission but this episode they travel through time to settle a bet after a pub quiz. Which is probably the most human thing to use the ability to travel through time I can think of; why argue when you can go find out for certain?
Just as the authors did with the Clovenhoof series, each book carries a solid storyline whilst still building towards the overall conclusion. Not that I have a clue what that is at this stage, other than the mysterious Burnleigh.
The three main characters clash nicely and make absurd decisions, but that's what keeps this interesting.
Generally enjoyable fantasy. The characters are distinct enough to be interesting and the storyline flows well even though there are few surprises and limited plot twists.
I adore this series about accidental time travelers when they lose a pub quiz they decide to travel to the Battle of Hastings to verify how King Harold died... and learn how utterly awful ancient warfare actually is...
