From USA TODAY bestselling author Jennifer Snow comes a hilarious rom-com with a speculative twist that asks: Why put off until tomorrow the wedding you can sabotage today?
Hailey Harris can’t stop messing with fate. A successful life coach, Hailey uses her ability to glimpse the future to guide her clients down the right path. But her gift has made her own life lonely. After all, having a real friend would mean asking someone to believe the unbelievable.
The one person she might have confided in—her ex, Liam Jensen—is newly engaged to a beautiful, sweet, thoughtful heiress. But when Hailey has a vision predicting a not-so-happy ending for the couple, her mission is clear: help Liam and his fiancée avoid the biggest mistake of their lives.
Stopping the wedding while planning Liam’s engagement party is no easy feat. And Warren Mitchell—Liam’s sexy, irritating best man and Hailey’s nemesis—is suspicious of Hailey’s motivations. Between sleeping with her frenemy and watching her careful plans spiral out of control, Hailey discovers the real cause of Liam’s future heartbreak. But now that she knows the truth, will Hailey keep on fighting fate or trust in the love she never saw coming?

All Signs Point to Malibu is a sunny romance following, Hailey, a life coach and undercover psychic, and Warren, her exes best friend. The story flowed easily and the setting was so warm and inviting. I loved the little dash of magical realism and how it unraveled the plot and romance. Hailey and Warren were so fun and sweet together, I loved that the two were always at odds and bickering. The way their relationship developed because of their chemistry and subsequent attraction was just perfect.

So, here's the thing: this book was not for me, nor is Jennifer Snow an author I will ever revisit, and in any other circumstance I would have DNF'd and been on my way. (But sometimes you gotta write a review.) To say that I was surprised All Signs Point to Malibu wasn't a debut novel is putting it mildly. The prose felt stilted and too cliched, the plot was formulaic, the characters were either boring or unlikeable, and the paranormal twist which drives the entire plot was better done in Sarah Adler's Happy Medium. Literally, the only two things I enjoyed were the book's setting (I could feel the warmth ☀️) and the fact that I finished it in less than three hours. However, maybe you like everything I didn't and this will be the perfect read for you!
My first big problem was that Snow used first-person present tense but told more than her characters said. Both POV characters had incredible insight into their own thoughts and motivations, resulting in paragraphs of explanation but few lines of dialogue. Most of the novel felt like Snow over-explaining Hailey and Warren's decisions to the reader instead of just doing the thing in real-time. Reading a character think something (e.g. "chemistry sizzles between us") when you also just read how it didn't became repetitive and eye-rolling.
The other problem was how Hailey and Warren completely lacked chemistry. Most of the novel was Snow repeating how sexy and romantic they found one another as if she had to remind me of a fact I didn't believe. On top of an enemies-to-lovers arc (which is conveniently overcome in weeks), Snow also makes sure we're aware of why Hailey and Warren dating is such a taboo: she ruined his career! She used to date his best friend! They're both sexy but hate each other!! But I just did not care at all about Hailey's former relationship with Liam and I didn't care about Hailey's sexual fantasies about Warren's forearms or their eventual copulation (pages which I straight-up skipped because the whole scene was way too cringey). So, when Hailey or Warren were tiptoeing around their feelings or a big miscommunication happened to further the plot... I remained unmoved.
Ultimately, Snow failed to entice me with her writing, she bored me with her plot, and she gave me no reason or motivation to root for her characters.
All Signs Point to Malibu was an enemies to lovers adult romance that was so easy to visualize. With some magic realism laced into this story, everything played out like a movie in my head. Whether it was Hailey walking in her heels and spilling her coffee, or the scene in the restaurant with her lipstick…it was just so easy to visualize and read this story. There were some steamy moments too and it ended with a wonderful happily ever after. My hiccup was that I wasn’t able to connect to a single character, and that greatly influences my enjoyment of a book. So, I’ll definitely give another one of her books a try, and hope that I'm able to connect with it better!

4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ All Signs Point To Malibu Author: Jennifer Snow
Thank you Netgalley and Canary Street Press for this ARC! I adored this one! Hailey Harris is a life coach / psychic and uses her “gifts” to help further her career goals. Her ex Liam is newly engaged and she catches a glimpse of him and his Fiancee having a not so happy marriage. She ends up starting to meddle in their wedding plans to try prevent them from making the biggest mistake of their lives! Shes stuck now as wedding planner, and trying to sabotage it at the same time. Liams best man Warren may prove a problem though.. since he seems to be on to her. Warren and Hailey have great back stories, and their connection as the story progresses is adorable. I don’t like subjects of infidelity / cheating so that was one thing I didn’t love about this. Overall though I really enjoyed it and want to read more of Jennifer’s books. Great ARC!
3.5⭐️ I’m a bit conflicted writing this review. I love the premise of this book - an enemies-to-lovers romance with a bit of magical realism - but struggled with the execution.
Things I loved: - The magical realism component was central to the plot, but not outlandish. - It had a very “current” feel with the FMC being a life coach with a big social media following. - Banter between the main characters was entertaining.
Things that didn’t work for me: - The story was told via dual POV (which I normally love), but the POV transitions were clumsy sometimes making it hard to tell which character was speaking. - I didn’t sense ANY chemistry between Hailey and Liam and didn’t understand why she would want to break up his wedding.
Overall, this was an entertaining book that could have benefitted from cleaner transitions and a bit more depth to the relationships between characters.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the advance copy in exchange for my unbiased review.
All Signs Point to Malibu is a quick and fun read with a great premise and a gorgeous cover. The story follows Hailey, a life coach with the ability to see into people's futures. She uses her gift to help guide people in the right direction and is determined to stop her ex’s wedding after foreseeing an unhappy future for him.
One of the strongest aspects of the story was the romance between Hailey and Warren. Warren is Hailey's ex's best friend, and he's had some first-hand experience with Hailey's gift. Their enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity love story created just the right amount of sexual tension and chemistry. Although they can't stand each other at the start of the book, their chemistry definitely says the opposite. I enjoyed watching them struggle with their growing feelings for one another. Their complicated history, dating back to high school, added layers to their relationship, and they really pushed each other's buttons before finally giving in to their attraction. The chemistry between them felt natural, and their journey from animosity to love kept me hooked, especially with the added stakes of Hailey’s mission to stop her ex's wedding.
The balance of romance and magical realism with Hailey’s psychic abilities gave the story a unique twist that kept things interesting. I like how her personal growth intertwined with her powers. It added some depth to her character arc, which I liked becuase, initially, I didn't really love her. It took me a while to really get into the story, but once I did, I ended up enjoying it.
Thanks to Spark Point Studio for providing me with a copy of the book. All thoughts are my own.
I sped through this latest speculative fiction enemies to lovers, forced proximity, dual POV romance that sees Hailey, a psychic life coach somehow roped into helping plan her ex's engagement party with his best friend, Warren who hates her after she derailed his plans to play in the NFL.
The banter between Hailey and Warren was top notch, and I really, really enjoyed this newest from Canadian born author, Jennifer Snow. Highly recommended for fans of authors like Rebecca Serle. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review!
This was a quick and fun read with a psychic twist! While the chemistry between Warren and Hailey is good (very strong on the fine line between love and hate), I felt like the romance was missing in this one, as well as showing any deeper relationship developing between them. I feel like the main focus was Hailey’s job and her ex’s wedding , and not enough focus on Warren and Hailey. I still think this book is enjoyable, especially if you go in expecting the romance and spice to be low!
Surprisingly cute and fun. Not my typical read but the mood called for light hearted and different from my usual - so here we are.
The magical realism was not something I expected (I went into this a little blind) and the chemistry between Hailey and Warren was so good. I’ve never been a fan of the ex-boyfriend best friend trope but it worked here. Likely because it was enemies to lovers but I digress. Again, she was cute and fun.
3.75⭐️ Very cute, palate cleanser, one small spicy scene, a little confusing that page breaks where different POVs but overall would probably recommend
the concept was there but execution was not. the enemies to lovers felt forced & then overcome really quick. & the entire plot takes place in a matter of weeks so the pacing was also a lil odd.
I enjoyed the book itself. Truly. But the audiobook narration is AWFUL. The voice actor does not have different intonation for Hailey and Warren - and there is absolutely NO warning for when they switch between POVs!! I would be listening along and suddenly be SO confused why Hailey would be having that conversation, or those thoughts, and vice versa. I figured it out, but it was really annoying and definitely confusing.
DNF’d @ 10% Not having luck with books this week lol. This was not for me. I’m not a magical realism girly anyway, and the airport flashback was cringe enough to make me shelve this one. Also having only a female audiobook narrator for a story that has parts from a male’s POV really annoys me.
CW: Infidelity (minor); references to cancer; death of a sibling; grief; veiled references to suicide
I’ll admit I was a bit skeptical of this book when I started reading it. It didn’t hook me right away, and there were a few things that didn’t necessarily work for me. But I’m so glad I didn’t put it down, as I ended up invested in the romance between Hailey and Warren.
The romance was definitely the standout feature of All Signs Point to Malibu, as it was giving some rom-com vibes. I loved that Hailey and Warren have a bit of a complicated relationship dating back to high school. They’re definitely not fans of each other at the start of the story, but you could feel the underlying sexual tension in their arguments. I wouldn’t say they had banter, but they definitely knew how to push each other’s buttons and get enjoyment out of it – I truly loved the dynamics of their relationship. The romance developed at the perfect rate for me and felt natural. I loved that they both were wrestling with their attraction toward each other and the potential deeper feelings there. The romance was perfectly balanced with the main plot of stopping Hailey’s ex’s wedding, and I loved how that inherently added tension and conflict to Hailey and Warren’s relationship. My one complaint with the romance was that I wanted one extra scene at the end as the resolution to the romantic conflict was wrapped up so quickly! I think an epilogue would have worked really well here to show that and make the ending feel a little less abrupt.
Now, when it comes to the characters, I have mixed feelings about them. Both Warren and Hailey felt a bit one dimension to me – I feel like we’re told a lot about them, but we don’t actually know them? I also really struggled to connect with Hailey, and I think some of that is just on me as I couldn’t get over her being an influencer life coach – that felt so superficial to me, and I kind of hated being reminded of that was her job. I did enjoy her psychic abilities, and I thought they worked really well in the story and didn’t feel out of place. I appreciated that Hailey felt like she had emotional growth throughout the story. In the beginning, I was frustrated that she felt like she was entitled to meddle in her ex’s love life (she justified it very, very poorly to me), but I felt like she learned her lesson by the end that sometimes you have to let fate take its course in some things in life.
I liked Warren and felt he was a very empathic character, which made him a little easier to initially connect with. However, I felt like some things in his past – like what happened with his brother – weren’t fully fleshed out. I wanted to know about him, what motivates him, and what has shaped him, but some aspects of his character felt very surface-level.
One area I struggled with in this book was the writing. It’s written in first person present, alternating from Hailey and Warren’s point of view. I find present tense to be a bit awkward in romances and definitely noticed that a bit in this book. Sometimes the writing felt a little choppy, and I feel like this book suffered a bit from too much telling and not enough showing. That made a lot of things, especially when it came to the characters, feel surface-level. I also wished that when we switched from Hailey to Warren’s POV, it had labels above it, as I definitely got tripped up a time or two, especially in the beginning.
Despite some of the issues I had with the writing, I did really enjoy the plot. I liked the framing of the story and how it opened with Hailey ruining a wedding, but we don’t know exactly what she did. I was very curious to know what she did and uncover the journey she went on to get to that point. As I mentioned, I also really liked the romance as well. Once I got invested in that, the book picked up speed for me, and I flew through the end of it.
All Signs Point to Malibu was a bit of a mixed bag for me – I didn’t hate it, but I also didn’t love it. It’s a true 3-star read for me. That being said, it was a cute romance and a fairly quick read, so if the premise intrigues you, I think it’s worth picking up. Plus, that cover is so cute – perfect end-of-summer vibes!
Thank you to Sparkpoint Studio/Canary Street Press for the ARC! All thoughts, ideas, and opinions expressed in this review are my own.
3.75 for me. I thought this was a really cute. I think the idea was a fun one and it was for the most part an enjoyable read. What I liked: -the tension between Hailey and warren. so many times, I was just kiss each other already! In a fun way because any moment where they almost kiss gets interrupted. -I liked the antics that they were getting into. -I liked how these two actually care about the people in their lives. Warren with the kids he coaches such as with Marcus and how he wants to do right by him but doesn't want to be like his father. Hailey who yes has a social media lifestyle and seems superficial but truly just wants to see her people successful but starts to struggle with the idea that success doesn't always mean happy, and she worries if she is truly helping people. -I liked how it ended and there was even a moment where I get choked up
Personal annoyance -I am the type of person who believes you can only lead a horse to water you can't make it drink and sometimes as long as no one is in true physical or mental harm you have to let them make mistakes. So, while I think the whole premise of this book of trying to stop your old boyfriend from making a mistake because it will result in a divorce or unhappiness later in his life was cute. I did eventually as I was reading it get a little irked because yes, these two are really rushing things and aren't talking about things and are not setting themselves up for success as a married couple so all you can do as a friend is voice your concern and then you have to let them make their own mistake.
In the end this was a fun and cute read and I did like Hailey and Warren together.
This book is about Hailey who has a unique gift of seeing the potential futures of those she touches the lifelines on their hand with hers. She has been able to turn this into a successful business of being a life coach. A lonely one but still a successful one. Then one day following an earthquake tremor where there is some damage to her pool. So, she calls the man who while he is the father of her ex has because a stable influence in her life. So, when she opens her door expecting the older man, she is surprised to see her ex standing there wanting to check out her pool's damage. But opening seeing him on her doorstep also opened the door to old feelings that make her wonder if this a sign for a potential 2nd chance at love with him. That is until his fiancé comes out of the car... Rethinking the possibility of a second chance she decides to check his future something she has never been able to do before due their relationship. So, when she sees heartbreak in his future, divorce and possibly career failure she decides that she needs to break up this couple and prevent the marriage that will only end in doom and what better way that to do that than to "help" plan and host their engagement party. However, her plans keep getting wrecked by the best man her nemeses Warren who they have a shared and bumpy past to say the least and he seems very suspicions of her motivations for helping out her ex. But as they are forced to work together, they start to see new sides to each other, and she starts to wonder what his future could possible hold?
I recieved an ARC copy from netgalley and HTP in exchange for an honest review.
-Enemies/Strong Dislike to Love -Forced Proximity -Great Banter -Meddling Ex -Magical Realism
I really didn't expect to like this as much as I did, but it was the first enemies to lovers I've read in a long while that felt like the MCs were actually enemies to start. Hailey and Warren had obvious chemistry, but that "thin line between love and hate" was so real between the two of them. And the progression to lust and love felt real and natural, instead of it feeling like just two people who didn't want to admit they actually liked each other already.
The story did fall a little flat for me with the plot line of Hailey trying to break up her ex's wedding, because I feel like we didn't get explanations to big parts of that rushed wedding timeline, specifically. I liked how the sabotage plan all started as Hailey thinking she wanted to get back together with her ex, and then she realized she really just wanted to save her ex the heartbreak in regard to her vision of his future, but we never found out why his fiancee and her dad kept trying to rush the wedding and what it had to do with all the resorts they weren't telling him he had to design. That part just felt unfinished to me.
I also wish we'd gotten a little more from Warren about his brother's passing. He clearly still struggles with it, and with Hailey opening herself up to him about something so personal about herself and trusting him with that, it felt a little unbalanced that he didn't really open himself up as much especially knowing how much his brother was on his mind throughout the book. There's also a little too much miscommunication/lack of communication for my taste throughout. A lot of their issues with each other could've been solved by talking instead of both of them just being in their heads all the time.
I enjoyed the element of Hailey's psychic abilities because it lent a little fun and whimsy to the story. I also liked how she struggled with the ethics of relying on it to coach her client's. It seems a little like cheating, and she was constantly struggling with that feeling throughout the book, but I liked how it was resolved in the end. The lesson was a good one by the time she got there.
There was really only 1 descriptive open door scene, and it wasn't too long. If you're looking for a very spicy book, this won't be it. However, as someone who loves open door romance, I still very much enjoyed this despite the lack of spicy times. And if you prefer closed door, I think you could easily skim that scene and still enjoy the rest of the story despite it.
Overall, if you enjoy a banter-filled, strong dislike-to-love story about a meddling ex and her psychic visions that sometimes get her into more trouble than they're worth, this book is definitely one to check out. I received an advanced copy of this book and am leaving an honest review.
Hailey is 29 years old, a social influencer and life coach who is helped along by her psychic ability. Warren, who went to high school with Hailey, is a former pro athlete turned high school football coach. They have an antagonistic relationship stemming from a past psychic incident between Hailey and Warren, as well as Hailey's role in breaking up her ex-boyfriend's (and his best friend's) wedding. I think the book description covers things pretty well, so I won't rehash things too much. This book has an interesting concept, channeling one's psychic powers into life coaching. And we see a lot of inner conflict as Hailey struggles to help those around her in a way they'll accept, all without exposing her secret. I just felt like the main source of tension (stopping Liam's wedding to avert potential future disaster) was just kind of 'meh.' I liked the premise but the execution felt superficial. And although Hailey's intentions were good, her actions were manipulative and I had a hard time warming up to her. In fact, I had a hard time caring about these two together, and I wasn't really invested. They're technically enemies to lovers, and there was growing physical attraction but it doesn't feel like enough to want them to be together. The high school connection and their mutual friendship with Liam seems tenuous upon which to base a relationship, and it didn't seem like they tried too hard to get to know one another before they headed to the open-door sexy times. Things just seemed to happen to move them along without a lot of interpersonal growth. There is a dual 1st person POV, which normally I prefer but it wasn't labeled in the ARC when switching back and forth between their viewpoints within each chapter. This was a bit confusing/distracting to follow, so hopefully this is fixed before publication. Overall this book seemed like it would be my cup of tea, and I was invested enough to keep reading, but ultimately I don't think it was the book for me. The story didn't move as fast as I would have liked, it drags but picks up towards the end. Ultimately an HEA and Hailey appears to have grown and understood herself better, but it was a slog to get there. Thank you to NetGalley for providing an eARC of this story, this was my objective review. Publishes 9-17-24.
Im giving this book 3.5 stars. I first have to point out that I’m not a traditional romance reader and that’s really what this book is, with a dash of fantasy by way of the fmc having psychic visions that she uses to help launch her career.
Hailey Harris a successful life coach with a hefty social media following is single and a bit career obsessed and doesn’t have much of a personal life, that is until her ex Liam comes back into town. He’s looking good, she’s thinking perhaps a second chance until awkwardly meeting his fiancée, gorgeous wealthy hotel heiress Sonia banks. After only dating for 6 months she felt it her place to step in and “save” Liam from a terrible future after seeing a vision of divorce papers.
Things don’t go according to plan when Liam’s best friend Warren, long time enemy of Hailey thanks to awkward meeting in an airport which resulted in the two getting banned to travel. She was trying to save him from a career ending sports injury, he thought she was pranking and got her into trouble as well and the two have been at odds ever since.
Hailey volunteers to help Warren plan an engagement party for the couple all while having her own agenda to brake them up (saving Liam and maybe giving them another chance) until things between Warren and her change.
It’s forced proximity, enemies to lovers, will they won’t they.
There were definitely moments I was kicking my feet and routing for the two. It did have some cheesy bits and I wasn’t a fan of the tropes being in the character inner dialogue, it just seemed a bit odd and not very realistic.
Final Thoughts: The ending was a little rushed but i did enjoy the book overall. I wouldn’t suggest this book for fantasy lovers because it’s really just a romance book with minimal fantasy element but I’d suggest it for romance readers or perhaps as a pallet cleanser in between large world building epic fantasy books seeing that this was a fast and easy read.
I have been moving out of my comfort zone lately to expand my reading horizons. When I had an opportunity to review All Signs Point to Malibu by Jennifer Snow from BookTrib, I took the leap. Snow has created enemies to lovers in the story with a twist of the paranormal.
Hailey Harris and Warren Mitchell went to high school together. They were at odds then and feelings of animosity did not change as they grew into adults, both with high-powered careers. At least, the feelings did not change until they did!
Hailey is a life coach, and successful is hardly the word to describe her because she owns a million-dollar Malibu home. She helps her clients find their own success, but she has a little help that she does not allow others to know about. If the lifeline in her palm touches the lifeline in another person’s palm, Hailey gets a glimpse into the person’s future. That glimpse helps her in nudging the person in the right direction.
The story is fast-moving and engaging. I do have one caveat. Snow tells the story through Hailey and Warren, but she moves from one to the other without changing chapters. When I first began reading, I was confused when Hailey’s narrative suddenly became Warren’s without any change in chapter. I had to page back to find where the shift began. I found that lack of direction disconcerting.
There’s also a moment when Hailey and Warren are both at their former high school to give a career talk, but Hailey connects with Warren’s palm and sees him in a terrible accident while playing football. Suddenly, they are at an airport where she accuses him of carrying drugs to stop him from getting on the plane. That part is confusing. Was that a memory or a flashback? If so, readers need more of a warning.
Overall, All Signs Point to Malibu is a satisfying rom-com.
I thought this book was fun, charming and an easy read. The magical realism was a nice touch, and I thought a good, indirect way to talk about being a people please / telling people what they want to hear while also feeling like a bossy, controlling woman. It was a nice glimpse into the thoughts and motivations of someone who's genuinely well intended, but might come off as too perfect or controlling or pushy. I liked Hailey as a character (the book was mostly about her character growth), I liked seeing her grow and get to know herself and give herself credit for her own accomplishments and learn to be a more genuine person.
The discussion of social media was interesting, but maybe the pressures it puts on content creators to look and be perfect at all times could have been addressed a hair more.
It was DEFINITELY hard to tell which character was speaking, there wasn't a label to indicate POV switch, and there was no clear difference in their voices until you gathered from context clues where they were.
Jennifer Snow has never done drugs and doesn't REALLY know anything about them, imo. This is the second book of hers I've read that has a depiction of "drug use" and both have felt like a D.A.R.E. presentation, not a nuanced discussion of real issues (or sometimes non-issues) that people actually deal with. Drugs as a villain is definitely a romance book trope, and a tired one. You sound like a cop trying to talk to a teenager you caught with a joint once: unrelatable, overly preachy and out of touch.
Finally, this is a gripe with basically all of the Jennifer Snow books I've read: why are all of her fmcs hot and blonde? Can we at least get a hot brunette? Or a bad hair day? I don't necessarily want her to write a plus size fmc because I don't super trust her to not be fatphobic, but someone who wasn't completely put together all the time would be nice.
I am thrilled to be an ambassador for @𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸𝘀 #𝗙𝗥𝗖𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 Fall Reading Challenge. I received a copy of 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗦𝗜𝗚𝗡𝗦 𝗣𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗧 𝗧𝗢 𝗠𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗕𝗨 𝗯𝘆 𝗝𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗻𝗼𝘄 (@𝘫𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳). This is a lighthearted, fun rom-com with a unique twist. Hailey, a life coach who can glimpse the future, tries to sabotage her ex-boyfriend Liam’s wedding after having a vision of his unhappy future. Her mission leads to hilarious moments, especially when she clashes with Warren, Liam’s best man and her frenemy. The tension between Hailey and Warren had me rooting for them with every almost-kiss moment! I loved how both characters truly cared about the people around them, especially Warren's dedication to the kids he coaches. Hailey’s journey of questioning whether success equals happiness added depth to the story. Though the premise of meddling in her ex’s love life was a bit frustrating, it was handled with humor. Ultimately, Hailey’s unexpected romance with Warren made this an entertaining, sweet read that left me smiling.
bookscoffeebrews BOOK REVIEW: ALL SIGNS POINT TO MALIBU ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Author: Jennifer Snow Publisher: Canary Street Press
A huge Thank You to @booksparks and @jensnowauthor for the gifted copy of this adorable book.
What a fun romance this was. Hailey is a Life Coach who also happens to be able to see a bit of the future. Her ex-Liam is getting married and she has a vision of his unhappy future. She now needs to try to sabotage the wedding. Liam’s best friend in Warren. Warren and Hailey do not like each other after Hailey ruined his career due to a vision. She is the maid of honor at the wedding and Warren is the best man. She tells Warren about the vision and reluctantly he agrees to help her to stop the wedding. The banter between Hailey and Warren is fabulous. These two start to become closer as they work on this project. The sexual tension is perfect and those antics they get into is marvelous. I loved the them in this book that the reader learns just as Hailey does that success doesn’t always mean happiness. I enjoyed how this book ended but it did seem like it was a little rushed. What I did like is both main characters are secure financally and this romance is no based money but really on feelings.
I so enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from this author.
Hailey Harris uses her gift to see into the future to be a great life coach, and most of the time it works really well (and no one knows her secret). She has made one enemy though, her ex boyfriend's best friend Warren - she saw that he was going to be traumatically injured if he caught his flight and went to a football tryout so she stopped him (in an unconventional manner) and he has never forgiven her for ruining his career. Now her ex (Liam) is getting married and Hailey, through her gift, sees nothing but heartache for him and his new bride and feels that she needs to stop the wedding. She enlists Warren to help since she and Warren are best man and maid of honor and even though he hates her, the sparks may be flying between them in an enemies to lovers rom com.
This was cute but a little bit all over the place at the same time. In some ways this reminded me of Sarah Adam’s’ The Rule Book but with some magical realism thrown in and a bit of a more wandering plotline. While I liked the characters, some situations rang unrealistic to me and I think the story could have used a little more focus. On thing that was hard as a reader, while there were 2 POVs (Warren and Hailey's) there wasn't a great delineation in the book letting you know whose POV you were reading, so sometimes you didn't realize you were reading Hailey’s instead of Warren’s. But, the book was a great distraction and palate cleanser after some more serious books and for that I did enjoy it.
