The complete best selling Inner Movement trilogy OUTVIEW – OUTIN – OUTMOVE
There is a secret so powerful that, once known, the world will never be the same. For centuries they have died to protect it. Nate found it. They know he did. Across time and dimension they are after him . . .
Four years ago, his father died. Two years ago, Nate's mother locked his brother in a mental institution. One year ago, horrific visions began to torture him. Now, a clandestine group, wielding overwhelming power, wants him silenced. Nate is only sixteen.
Nothing is what it appears and the tragedies of his life are all connected to the secret. A secret so unimaginable, that it will decide whether our modern society becomes a utopian or dystopian world.
Nate embarks on a breathless quest to save his brother and unravel the mystery of their father's death. His desperate flight takes a stunning turn when, along with three school friends, he encounters mystics who teach forgotten skills and lost wisdom and reveal an extraordinary destiny.
As Nate grows older, the journey continues . . . time and dimensions collide. If he can keep his friends alive, avoid Lightyear, and unravel crucial mysteries from the past . . . the Movement just might have a chance to change everything.
Eventually, Nate leads the Movement. But the revolution is crumbling and their adversaries are wreaking havoc in multiple dimensions. He must save the Jadeo and find the Dark Mystic. The time has come to reveal the secret . . . but time’s a funny thing.
The trilogy is primarily set in the modern day western United States and across extraordinary realms. It will appeal to more than young adult fans as the three books combine mystics, metaphysical magic, psychics and reincarnation, to push this new age conspiracy beyond the realm of the Celestine Prophecy and the Alchemist.
USA TODAY Bestselling Author Brandt Legg uses his unusual real life experiences to create page-turning novels. He’s traveled with CIA agents, dined with senators and congressmen, mingled with astronauts, chatted with governors and presidential candidates, had a private conversation with a Secretary of Defense he still doesn’t like to talk about, hung out with Oscar and Grammy winners, had drinks at the State Department, been pursued by tabloid reporters, and spent a birthday at the White House by invitation from the President of the United States.
At age eight, Legg's father died suddenly, plunging his family into poverty. Two years later, while suffering from crippling migraines, he started in business, and turned a hobby into a multi-million-dollar empire. National media dubbed him the “Teen Tycoon,” and by the mid-eighties, Legg was one of the top young entrepreneurs in America, appearing as high as number twenty-four on the list (when Steve Jobs was #1, Bill Gates #4, and Michael Dell #6). Legg still jokes that he should have gone into computers.
By his twenties, after years of buying and selling businesses, leveraging, and risk-taking, the high-flying Legg became ensnarled in the financial whirlwind of the junk bond eighties. The stock market crashed and a firestorm of trouble came down. The Teen Tycoon racked up more than a million dollars in legal fees, was betrayed by those closest to him, lost his entire fortune, and ended up serving time for financial improprieties.
After a year, Legg emerged from federal prison, chastened and wiser, and began anew. More than twenty-five years later, he’s now using all that hard-earned firsthand knowledge of conspiracies, corruption and high finance to weave his tales. Legg’s books pulse with authenticity.
His series have excited nearly a million readers around the world. Although he refused an offer to make a television movie about his life as a teenage millionaire, his autobiography is in the works. There has also been interest from Hollywood to turn his thrillers into films. With any luck, one day you’ll see your favorite characters on screen.

This trilogy is a fascinating blend of coming of age, dystopian fantasy, philosophy, science ficti0n and thrilling action and has the potential to become a classic such as the Celestine Prophecy or Conversations with God - only the book is more entertaining. This trilogy has much more to offer than the coming of age part and the action. Disguised in the shape of fantasy and science fiction elements in this novel I recognise many modern spiritual, esoteric and supernatural concepts, explained to the youngsters by more experienced ones, giving the small picture a wider dimension. Re-incarnation, psychic powers and astral travel, to name a few, are integral part of the story and influence the personal development and growth of our protagonists.
I am personally quite open to some of these concepts and so I found it very easy to relate to the characters and the story - which in itself also reads like a good fantasy thriller. "Outview (The Inner Movement)" by Brandt Legg concerns mostly two teenagers, one of them in a mental institution, and his brother in the 'real' world. Kept apart by their mother they manage to connect and start to uncover family secrets. Book one in the trilogy shows them coming into their own, fighting for survival and growing in their personal power and awareness. "Outin" picks up where the first book ended. Nate, his brother and friends are still on the run from Lightyear and on their journey are helped by many helpful mystics. In this book their first escape brings them through a portal to the dimension of Outin, a magical realm. Several mystics or sages explain Nate about the dimensions, the concept of time and many new age/ spiritual / esoteric concepts that are nowadays becoming increasingly popular and part of many people's believe system. Legg does an excellent job at explaining these concepts and uses them to bring relevance to the plot. I found these parts particularly interesting and well written, although depending on each reader's believe system some concepts will be perceived as fantasy (which also works well).
Legg is more playful in this novel with his incredibly imaginative and magic world creation. I hope many young and older readers will dive into the story and take to heart the many wise observations and rather encouraging messages that are woven into the dialogue and the character development.
"Outmove" by Brandt Legg is the third in his inspired series. The actual story takes us through time, e.g. to the time of the sinking of the Titanic, and it mostly concerns the hunt for Jadeo, a sacred box that has importance to the movement. Full of evil and inspired characters the book is not just spiritual but also great fun and very entertaining in its adventure part. Whether you see the concepts as real or only as mythical and slightly philosophical fantasy part of the story, they lend the characters additional depth and make the story more magical. Awareness, good and evil and wisdom are basic concepts that everyone can relate to, whether they are supernatural or instinctive.
This trilogy is absolutely fantastic! As you follow Nate, the protagonist, on his quest to discover secrets of the past and avoid Lightyear, you will be immersed into an exciting and thrilling adventure: there's time travel, loss of friends, decisions that can make a difference between life and death, love, and action-packed scenes. All those elements add up to fantastic books, but that's what's visible on the surface, on the level of plot.
These books are much deeper than the surface plot as they books make the readers think about many philosophical concepts but present them in a very accessible way. One such concept is that of awareness. Brandt Legg makes us question our own lives and consider how aware we really are of our surroundings, of others, and of ourselves - and that's a great issue to ponder for a person of any age, teenagers included. Many ideas in his books and the eloquent way that the author expresses them feel like pearls of ancient wisdom in the modern world, and that's incredibly appealing.
The nature of creativity, spiritual understanding of the world, material advancement vs. preservation of old traditions, reincarnation, free will, the nature of fear and overcoming fear to reach goals - all these are issues that Nate has to deal with as he pursues his quest. As a reader, you will be right there with him, and you will emerge a wiser person.
I adore Brandt Legg's use of language. He is a writer and a photographer, so his keen power of observation doesn't come as a surprise. But it still delights. The language is precise and descriptive without being overly wordy. Here are just a couple of my favorite phrases: "the jumble of yellow cabs" (in Manhattan), "the joys of Dreams Lake helped disperse the morning's traumas," or "time was attacking us from many sides."
What I love about Brandt Legg's books is the deeper level of thinking and deeper issues that he invites us to explore, all in a very easy-to-read and entertaining way. "What if?" and other hypothetical questions are always fun ones to ponder, and you will have plenty of opportunities to do that when you read his books. What are the best ways to drive innovation? What societal structures are most conducive to innovative thinking? How does money affect societies? What could the alchemists really accomplish? And why didn't JP Morgan board the Titanic, like he was supposed to? And this is just a quick little sampling of the kinds of things this trilogy will make you think about. What a fantastic journey! Highly recommended.
An imaginative and intriguing novel which will pull you right into the pages.
Great plot twists and turns have been created which will keep you on the edge of your seat. The characters are super in this well-paced metaphysical thriller.
Legg certainly has shown the capacity to craft a great page-turner- you will be gripped to this fantasy adventure.
Superb- well worth a look! 5*****
OUTIN
OUTIN (The Inner Movement)
I was give a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.
After reading the superb first book by Legg- thoughts, hopes and ideas are in place for a great second novel. The second book Outin meets all expectations and reaches beyond- fantastic!
Fans of the first book in the series need to pick up this thrilling read. The story is full to the brim with adventure, mysticism and spiritual undertones. Readers will be gripped to the pages and intrigued as the tale develops.
Again, great characters with a mix of magic, suspense, fantasy and plot twists.
Highly recommended 5*****
OUTMOVE
Still in the process of reading this one but it is as great as the first two books!
A super and entertaining read. The collection is certainly worth a look.
The Inner Movement is a very deep metaphysical read. Anyone who loves the paranormal will love this series. It is the story of Nathan Ryder, who suffering from frequent nightmares and visions begins a journey to unlock the mysteries within. Author Brandt Legg takes us on an exploration of a host of topics including reincarnation, the nature of time, astral travel, channeling, shape shifting and much more. We get to walk with Nathan through each step of his journey. A great read.
I see the potential but it's not relevant to me so I found it hard to be interested in the character. If your interested in the metaphysical reasons of the universe you will enjoy the first book.. I've read "Jonathon Livingston seagull" and this is more of a story than that was but it reminds me of it.
From beginning to the end I was deeply involved with the story. I was thinking and being slightly that this would be my last book from Mr. Legg, but imagine my surprise and joy there is at least one more I haven't read yet. Gotta get to it!
What an interesting novel. This book is not my usual choice of topics but I found it addicting and was hard to put down A wonderful cast of characters. I’m glad there are not bad people in the real world like some of the villains depicted in this book. A very interesting read
Brandt Legg captures the imagination like no other. His tales transcend time and history. You should read all his timeless tales, probably starting with The Cosega series. Happy reading! Enjoy.
What a spectacular ride! The story starts off strong as the reader experiences one of Nathan's outviews, where he is forced to endure different horrible deaths. As the book moves along, we learn about Nathan's troubled home life. His father died, and his brother was locked up in a mental institution. Now Nathan fears he is losing his mind just like his brother. But then he begins to learn the truth about what has happened to his family and what is happening to himself. And he discovers more about the world than he ever thought possible.
I am a skeptic, one of those people who can only believe in what can be seen. Yet, as I read this, I found myself beginning to wonder and believe. What if there is more to the physical world than what we realize? I was captivated by all of the concepts, particularly reincarnation. That is an idea that has always fascinated me, even though I doubt that it is anything more than just a theory.
I loved the cast of characters, especially Nathan's loyal friends, who continue to help him even when it becomes very dangerous for them. The writing was fluid, and the imagery was beautiful and vividly depicted. I was easily pulled into the story, and each page kept me wanting to read more. It was addictive and compelling.
This is a highly imaginative and unique book. I look forward to reading the next one!
Outin (Book 2):
The spectacular ride that began in Outview continues in Outin, and it becomes even more exhilarating. Nate is still being hunted by Lightyear, and he is faced with predictions of horrifying events for the future that he must try to prevent. The future is constantly changing with every decision, and his life and the lives of many others, including his friends', depend upon the choices they make.
Nate also enters Outin for the first time, an amazing different dimension that is unlike anything you could ever imagine existing in our physical world. It is truly breathtaking. Legg uses words to paint a magnificent picture of Outin just as he does when describing the beauty that is on earth in our dimension.
With the help of mystics and others in the Inner Movement, Nate tries to escape the grasp of Lightyear, while attempting to plan out how they can take it down. The story is intense, and there are some unexpected events and surprising revelations. Meanwhile, Nate is discovering more soul powers and is learning more about his past lives that may help the Inner Movement. And I kept wondering who Nate is meant to be with: Amber or Linh? Personally, I've been hoping it's Linh...
The most pressing theme that I noticed in this book asks the question: can evil be stopped without using violence? In the real world, I don't believe that is possible. But perhaps, in Nate's world, it is.
I am dying to know what is going to happen in the next book!
Outmove (Book 3):
This is the third novel in the Inner Movement series. Lightyear was just a division of Omnia, and in this book, we find out more about Omnia and how evil and powerful they really are and have been throughout history. I was eager to read this to see whether or not Nate and his allies would be able to defeat Omnia. There were so many odds against them. What makes things even worse for them is the Inner Force, a faction of the Inner Movement, who believes that violence is the only way to stop Omnia. In many ways, they are almost as dangerous as Omnia itself.
Omnia has taken over, and people are being unjustly imprisoned, sent away, and killed. There are some horrifying moments in this story, particularly when Nate visits another dimension called Carst. As with the last two books, there are several exciting scenes that will keep you glued to the pages.
So many questions that you have probably had since the beginning of the series will be answered in this book. I kept wondering what exactly the Jadeo was and who Nate was really meant to be with.... And if you were curious about the dark mystic, then you will finally get to meet him.
This is a really fascinating series that does not disappoint. If you have already read the first two books, you definitely won't want to miss reading this one!
First I'm going to give you words and phrases that describe this page turner for me.... Conspiracy, discovery, trust, betrayal, mystic powers, terror, innocence, sibling love, friendship, family. Start out with Outview (book one).... the story of a young teenager Nate who has this power (or curse; however you choose to see it). His father had it, his brother Dustin has it and his Aunt Rose does as well. Their gift is misunderstood - most likely by ignorance on the part of the 'normal folks' After Nate's father dies (or is killed - you'll have to figure that out), Nate goes on a search to find the depth of these Outviews he experiences. I had never heard of an out view and I'll have to admit I was intrigued. With the help of his good friends Kyle and Linh, Nate begins his search to find answers. He is steadfast in his search for answers. The depth of the innocent adolescent friendship between these three is another thing that amazed me. We see how unconditional love and trust abounds with them. We also experience Nate meeting up with his spiritual advisors along the way, the mystics who don't give him answers per se but encourage and teach him how to deal with his power; to look into himself for answers. I learned just how powerful the mind is....mind over matter I guess you could say. Brandt Legg is the ultimate story teller. He takes us on the journey with Nate and I completely felt like a spectator. I WAS in the woods with Nate. I felt everything from the wind blowing in my face, to running through the woods with Nate, the sound of the water, the branches of the trees moving, the mountain lions and the vivid descriptions of each scene. I felt the sting of knife wounds, the piercing of a gunshot to the flesh and I was scared to death. I also felt the anguish and heartache Nate's mom went through. As a parent I felt for her. I cried. She did what she thought was right at the time and I realized through her that as parents we don't always do what is right. Sometimes we make decisions based on what other people tell us is the right thing to do. We come to regret that later and her regrets tore at my heart. The love between Nate and Dustin was incredible. These 2 boys had 'the gift' but one was institutionalized and labeled crazy. The other was tethering on believing he was crazy as well. I have recommended this series/boxed in one set to all my friends! Brandt Legg - you've given us three gifts:) I can totally see this series being made into an Academy award winning movie!
Frankly, I am usually not a paranormal kind of person; that genre seems to go in one ear and out the other. Imagine my surprise when I started reading Brandt Legg’s Outview and was totally hooked from beginning to end! I am, however, a sucker for great characters I can relate to, and this author certainly does not disappoint. Enter Nate, a teenager experiencing repeatedly violent visions/dreams and worrying he’s going insane. Added to the mix is a beloved dead father, a distant mother, a brother who’s been committed to a mental institution, two Vietnamese-born best friends, and a fatherly neighbor, Sam. Totally believable and, in the case of his best friends, extremely likeable, this cast instantly helps draw the reader into Nate’s life. More and more, Nate discovers that not only is he not insane, he actually possesses mystical powers. Now, normally, this is the point where I would jump off, but not so in this book, because the way these Buddhist-like, reincarnation-oriented powers are explained and demonstrated is totally authentic and plausible. Now, that takes talent! In short, this book grabbed me—Legg’s beautiful, movie-like descriptions of different time-traveling, portal-based lands were wonderful; his philosophical take on the evils of corporate and political greed and power, riveting and spot-on, and his basic storytelling outstanding. A true, 5 star recommended read!
Judging from my reaction to Outview, I cannot WAIT to read his other books in this collection, which includes Outin and Outmore!! You should do the same.....
Three great books all in one place. A thrilling collection.
OUTVIEW:
I don't usually read YA but something about OUTVIEW drew my attention. It has an original plot that has been expertly woven. Strewn with spiritual and fantasy elements, entwined into a contemporary setting and populated with well drawn characters. OUTVIEW is an engrossing read which I would recommend to anyone, whether a YA fan or not.
OUTIN:
After thoroughly enjoying Outview (The Inner Movement) Book 1I could't not read 'Outlin'. This is a great continuation of what's building up to be a classic fantasy series. 'Outlin' starts directly where 'Outview' left off and hurtles you along the story. Again filled with wonderful characters and great spiritual and fantasy concepts 'Outlin' leaves you gasping for air and eagerly awaiting the next thrilling installment.
OUTMOVE:
The third instalment of Brandt Legg's thrilling Inner Movement trilogy doesn't disappoint. Filled with adventure and well rounded characters, "Outmove" takes us on a spiritual journey through time. A wonderful climax to a gripping trilogy as we follow the members of The Inner Movement as they battle against the evil organisation "Omnia". Beautifully written and packed with unique concepts and riveting action "Outmove" should not be missed.
Thrilling Fantasy Conspiracy Adventure that made me want to immediately read the next book!
The young adult hero, Nate Ryder, possesses extraordinary psychic abilities that give him tremendous power as well as make him target for some truly loathsome villains. As Nate comes to grips with his supernatural powers, he realizes that his brother, Dustin’s breakdown was likely due to similar powers and that Dustin no more deserves to be stowed away in an asylum then he does. The plot starts with Nate’s determination to free his brother and thickens with the discovery that his father’s death was not due to natural causes.
The story spirals into a faced paced race to see if Nate can avoid the government’s reach long enough for his power to grow to the point where he can save his friends and family.
In addition to the thrilling plot, Brandt Legg introduces a series of rich side characters to the story, each with a fascinating story of their own. He pulls in a touch of romance and a ton of loyalty that stirs the heart. The story is filled with fear, loss, hope, reconciliation, forgiveness, and triumph and it spills over with action, action, action! I must say it was quite a ride and I couldn’t resist jumping straight into the next book. Or maybe I was having an outview!
After his father’s mysterious death, Nathan begins having visions of deaths in previous lifetimes. After he visits his brother, who is locked away in a mental institution and suffered similar “dreams,” the young man realizes that these visions have significance. Nathan struggles with this new identity, unsure how to cope with the expectation that he will be the one to use his powers to protect his friends and human civilization against a manipulative and dangerous group of people called Lightyear. Nathan and his friends are pursued by Special Forces agents and are constantly on the run and making an attempt to reverse a future outcome of death that seems certain for thousands of people and two of his friends.
I found this series a thrilling read and a great escape—full of unusual and fun paranormal elements. Nathan has special powers, can travel through vortexes, through time and can “absorb” the contents of a book in an instant and read what’s going on in people’s minds and even their past lives. I enjoy fast-paced reads that keep me on the edge of my seat and this series gave me just what I was looking for.
I can’t wait for the movies The Inner Movement Brandt Legg
I’m so glad I didn’t discover this series until after all three books, Outview, Outin and Outmove had already been written. I don’t think I could have waited to see how Nate’s story was going to end in the time it would have taken Mr. Legg to finish writing the last two. I’m not certain I understand enough about the complex subjects in The Inner Movement series to do justification in reviewing them, so I’ll just say I love the emotional connection between Nate, his friends, family and the people he comes to love during his journeys to save mankind from itself. While the subject matter can at sometimes be complex, the feelings in these stories are not. We all know how it feels to be afraid, to love someone, and what we would do to save those we love.
Nate is a teenager when his struggle between good and evil begins, but he accepts his fate and we have the privilege of going along with him in the warm, safety of our homes.
I fully expect Outview, Outin and Outmove to be made into movies. The action alone would be worth the wait
Loved this story! With great character development and vivid descriptions, loads of action and suspense, this novel will grab you and keep your attention from the first page to the last. The author has definitely hooked me. I also enjoyed what I consider to be political undertones, which I’m a sucker for. I bought the second book even before reading the cliffhanger ending. It was that good and I can't wait to read more.
After Nathan and Dustin escape by the seat of their pants in the first book, this book continues on. This series took me to a fantastic world beyond imagination and this one is even deeper than the last. Another action packed fantasy, sci fi, thriller, adventure, it kept me turning pages, excited to know what was coming next. I highly recommend this series to anyone who reads fantasy or sci fi. Now on to book three.
The author knows how to interlace though provoking ideas with strong motion. You will feel what these characters feel. He even makes their confusion interesting. Yes, Virginia... realities are exciting. :-) I don't want to say more because I don't do spoilers, but this was a great trilogy!
OUTVIEW is a metaphysical journey told through the lens of fantasy -- and it's extremely compelling. While many books dealing with broad philosophical concepts get bogged down in the minutiae, Outview is an exception: The main character Nate guides the audience through the story with a steady hand -- which is surprising given the things going on around him! Every night Nate experiences nightmares (or "outviews") where he "sees" other people's deaths. Talk about a compelling dramatic thrust for a story! This understandably fractures the walls of Nate's psyche, making him question everything about himself, his past, his life, his family.
The sequels, Outmove and Outin continue the journey in new and interesting ways. You'll never see it coming. The action and adventure are kicked up several notches in the sequels. Trust me, if you start this trilogy, you won't read anything else until you finish it. I definitely recommend it!
The Inner Movement is a wonderful series, especially for those who enjoy sci-fi with a twist of mystery and suspense. The dialogue in this story was authentic and provides a perfect balance of show and tell. If you're looking for adventure you should explore the works of Brandt Legg. This series start with Nate having visions about dying and this is the inner movement that that results in the outer movements sequels. Books 2 and 3 picks up with Nate and his friends in a metaphysical spiritual type manner. Brandt's writing style is so simplistic that readers can finish this trilogy in no time at all. His voice and strong and it makes the emotions of his characters feel real. If you're curious about human nature in a scientific slash spiritual form, Brandt is able to pull off the unknowns that humans secretly wonder about it.
I've been meaning to review that third book ever since I finished it some time ago but NOW this complete version of the trilogy gives me the opportunity to recommend the whole series... if, like me, you have a hard time patiently waiting for the next book in a series, I highly recommend not only selecting this trilogy but also signing up for Kindle Unlimited... I'm a voracious reader and this is exactly the kind of series that I like to sink my teeth into over a long weekend, etc. AND you know that the COMPLETE work is here at your disposal.
This trilogy is simply hundreds of pages of reading bliss (and I think I have really high standards). The thing is, each of these thrilling books ripped my heart and mind wide open, in all the best ways, and that's just what I hope for when I pick up a new book. And when that book is part of a trilogy, well that's just three times the bliss! From my heart to yours, please pick up The Inner Movement, you will never look back.
Started out strong with interesting concepts and characters but went downhill with too many new age and religious sentiments. The books became repetitive to the point that books two and three were nothing but prolonged chase scenes. The characters only escaped time after time because someone thought of a new power that could help. It's amazing what can be done when anything and everything is possible because there are no rules.
The whole trilogy is terrific (Outview, Outin, and Outmove). Compelling story, complex plot (that never falls apart - the storytelling is seamless), important themes including spirituality, the environment, and the government/corporate complex, and wonderful settings (including my hometown of Taos, NM). Recommended!
In short, Nate is a great lead character and I was enthralled throughout the series. "The Inner Movement" is written incredibly well with depth in the main characters and some decent sub plots that kept me wanting to read on and on. I highly recommend this book if you are into your scf-fi and fantasy adventure stories.
I love this series. It’s all my favorite genres – fantasy, thriller, mystery, scifi – all wrapped up in one epic tale. The great characters and carefully engineered plot kept me engrossed. Each book tells a fast moving story that doesn’t let up until the end. I was totally immersed in this imaginative world. I recommend it!
I believe that the three books are really solid. As I have stated in my other small reviews the characters are solid, the plot wraps up in the end just beautifully, and I do not sense major plot holes. I would surely recommend this book to anyone. I am not even close liking all the new age era things, but the series present it in a rather good way.
