Wowsers - the Sara Ramsay series is now 23 books strong... And I really mean strong... Every single book - and yes, I know there's a lot to catch up with if you haven't already read them, but they really are worth it... Although, as always, the main story is self-contained...
So... we start with a trio of friends on a night out. Two want to "go on" with some lads they have just connected with, the third is wary but eventually overruled. So off they go to a rather swanky abode where the two split of with their beaus, leaving the third alone with the rest.
Actually, that's not all the night leaves with the third woman as we will eventually find out. And it's a thing that, well, will lead to the retribution that the title of the book requests...
Sara and Carla are called in when a man is reported missing... with little initially to go on, and with Sara's head not fully in the game, they struggle... but eventually, as a few more pieces of the puzzle emerge, things really start to get going...
Oh my days, this book is all the feels. It's emotional and tense and all things mixed up with sympathy vs the law. I'd love to expand on that but, you know spoilers. But it's a very serious topic covered here, one which hits the headlines often, and not usually in a good way. The initial crime in this book is brutal and long lasting. But those that come later are driven by revenge and all the more heinous. Have I piqued your interest, I hope so...
Pretty much everything else I expect from the author is present herein. Great plot, well executed by some cracking characters and with no superfluous waffle or padding, it gets on with itself very well indeed. And with the side stories featuring the main characters added in, you really do get the complete package.
All in all, a cracking addition to both a great series and impressive back catalogue. Roll on next time...

Wow! Wow! Wow!
I just devoured this over the course of a day, not wanting to do anything in terms of real life until I had finished the book as I was so hooked on this right from the first chapter
And in a very surprising change of pace, there is a lot less of DI Sara Ramsay and her team, and the main focus on the book was on the "bad guys". Except what was going on was completely understandable and I had a lot of empathy for them, while not being quite as sympathetic to the victims.
Which makes a change, or just means I've been reading too much crime recently.
The title is completely apt and there is revenge and retribution being hunted for, after a night out goes wrong for one of the people that were out that evening. And from there everything spirals.
We still saw a fair bit of Sara and Carla, enough to catch up with their personal lives too, and to see just how they dealt with these latest cases, which I wouldn't have had a clue where to start.
I was kept on my toes and was totally gripped by every single word of this book. I think this may be one of my favourite books of this series so far, and they have all been great.
I also can't believe we are up to book 23 of this series, it feels like only yesterday that I was eagerly starting it, and I already know I can't wait for the next book.

The storyline in this book made my blood boil! All crimes are awful but some are even more despicable and that is the case in this one. The first quarter of the book focuses on a group of friends which should have been a good night out but for one of them it becomes her worst nightmare. It’s one of those ones where you are going to have empathy for certain characters even though what they are doing is morally wrong.
It isn’t long before Sara and her team are on the case after a man is reported missing. Poor Sara has a lot going on in her personal life with her husband having had recent surgery and her thoughts are understandably taken up with worrying about him.
Seeking Retribution will have the reader questioning what they would do in the characters shoes. It had me torn that is for sure! Friendships are pushed to the limit with even the team coming under a cloud. It made for an emotional and tense read. The author never fails to come up with different and intriguing cases that make for compulsive reading. Roll on the next book in the series!

Book 23 in the D.I. Sara Ramsey series..
W.O.W, just w.o.w what a book. A cliffhanger in the last book, this book was a page turner and a half, I couldn't stop reading ....... With Mark having his op, will he make it? Will Carla and Dez get married?
When Polly,Chelsey and Tammy go on a night out, they bump into a group of good looking young men, they soon get chatting and lots of alcohol is consumed, they all end up back at Erik's house, whilst Tammy soon disappears with one of the men, Polly disappears with Karl, it leaves Chelsey downstairs with the rest, Erik offers her a blanket and the couch.
When Chelsey wakes the next morning, she can't remember a thing. Her clothes are folded neatly on the floor, but she knows something has happened during the night. Buy what? A few days later, Chelsey visits her doctor tests are performed, the results turn Chelseys life upside down, and for her future, will her friends stick around?........
This is a sensitive topic but is handled and written sensitively by the author. The book has lots of twists, nail biting moments as I waited to see whether chelsey would get her retribution. BRILLIANT

When a night out with your friends goes wrong, the last thing any of you would expect, would be retaliation of any kind.
DI Sara Ramsey has a lot on her plate right now. Her husband is having surgery, and will be out of action for a while.
When a woman turns up at the police station as her husband has gone missing, Sara decides to try and help.
When a man is found dead, the team have no idea who has killed him and why.
I found this book a hard one to read. I really felt for the victim in the story and all that occurred after that dreadful night. Her anger and pain were understandable. I did, however, struggle with what happened next.
A clever read that actually does make you stop and think. Would your friends do absolutely anything for you?

I can’t believe we’ve already got to number 23 in the DI Sarah Ramsey series.
A great night out with good friends ends in disaster for one of them who is actually the most sensible of them all. I was undecided that what she was going to do was the right thing but sometimes anger works quicker when your whole life has been ruined.
Sarah & her partner Carla have a crime on their hands when the first guy goes missing without any clues as to where he might be.
This book has many different sections to it.
A DI whose husband is recovering from cancer surgery which obviously is a worrying time for Sara.

Sara and her team are looking into a missing person but a body dragged from the water isn’t who they thought it would be. Is there a connection and can they find the perpetrators before anyone else dies!

I’m not sure where the ideas come for MA Comley’s books but they are brilliant.
This is fast paced & I’m pleased the way it ended.
If you haven’t read any of the series, you can read them as standalone but once you read one, you will be hooked be warned.
The story line is shocking in parts but you need to see how it ends.

Wow what a story. Fast paced from start to end.
A girls night out that starts out fun, the consequences and days after are right here.
Loving the relationships between these characters and their other halves. Learning more and following them just rounds them out so much. No wonder I can’t wait to read the next one.

I love a revenge plot and this one was filled with this supercharged emotion, then it got seriously sinister. The story catalyst was disturbing and sadly such a commonplace situation in real life, too. Once again, the team followed the clues while Sara also had a lot going on in her life.
Seeking Retribution is fast moving, current, and is a cracker of an addition to the series!

This was quite a different book but I liked the direction it took. I have to say that I might be tempted to take matters into my own hands if I was in this situation...not that you should but I can see it happening.

It's always a joy to catch up with Sara and her team.
The story begins with 3 friends going for a good night out but it ends in disaster. The story grabbed me from the beginning and really got under my skin.

Disappointing
After reading and enjoying previous books by thi author, I expected better. The plot was implausible and at times simplistic and the characters were not fleshed our nearly enough.

A very different format, but as exciting as ever.
A thoroughly enjoyable episode of this remarkable series. A different approach made this even more interesting, and harder to put down.
A few typos could do with correction. But otherwise a good read.

Emotional Rollercoaster
Three young ladies go to the pub on a girls night out and soon five young men ask if they can join them. What could possibly go wrong?
Well, prepare yourself for a rollercoaster of mixed emotions in this fast paced tale.
A woman has reported her husband has failed to return home and, even though Sara and her team do not normally investigate missing person reports, she decides that, as not much is happening and the team is simply tying up all the final paperwork from the last case, Sara agrees to have them look into the disappearance.
Soon there is a report about a young man found dead in the river and Sarah decides it is necessary to split the team between these two investigations.
