There is nothing deadlier than ancient immortals and buried secrets.

As the walls of his cursed prison close in around his mind, Tiernan loses himself further. Perhaps succumbing to the stone guardians is the only option.

Ma’am, I need book three ASAP! Why do I have to wait to find out what happens to 3 of our MCs. This book delivered so much more than book one ( I did enjoy it as well) but wow just something happening the whole book! Amazing!
Can I just start by saying how deeply, deeply iconic it is to mention at the end of book one that something major is due to occur on the Winter Solstice, and then for book two’s release date to be the Winter Solstice?! Something major indeed. I could’ve saved myself many months scouring Claire Wright’s website for any clues about when book two would be out!
Realm of Trials and Trickery upped the stakes and then some. Our beloved characters are back and they’ve got plenty to be getting on with. Book 2 takes us further into the magical realm of Tír na nÓg, as well as expanding further on the lore and circumstances in which Aisling, Maebh, Setanta and Tiernan find themselves mixed up in. There's mysteries to uncover, birthrights to claim and feelings to acknowledge, all whilst dealing with some very dark and dangerous Fae. One thing I really love about this series is that romances and friendships are given equal weight and importance. The bond between Aisling and Maebh feels very authentic to me, and I really love their scenes together.
Once again, the writing is lush and vivid. Claire does a fantastic job at painting the picture for you so clearly that you feel like you’re right there with the characters. She expertly weaves together the plot threads from the first book whilst introducing new ones, and keeps the tension high throughout. There’s many reveals and twists within, all leading to an intense climax.
Suffice to say, Realm of Trials and Trickery did not suffer from Second Book Syndrome. It delivered on all fronts and I will now recommence my stalking of Claire’s website for any hints towards Realm of Book Three, which I await very eagerly and (im)patiently.
Ash, Maebh, and Setanta are ready to join the Cath fully to serve the newly crowned High King. But with Winter Solstice looming ever closer and Ethne’s threat hanging overhead will they be able to save both realms in time? Tiernan fights everyday to remember himself outside the stone warrior hive mind, he remembers golden hair and blue eyes that smile at him but the longer he’s in stone the farther he falls away…
Holy crap! This sequel outdoes its predecessor! Action packed and full of new relationships, old friendships and twists at every turn!
Book 2 was even better than book 1! Just when I thought I was figuring out who was bad, who was good, it all shocked me (and I love a good plot twist!) 4 POV’s and trust me you want them all! These characters are so much more interconnected as we are finding out. Theres still a ton of unanswered questions that I hope book 3 reveals. Meaning, I hope book 3 is the last book because I can’t take the stress if there’s more lol!
☘️ murder mystery ☘️ slow burn ☘️ lost memory ☘️ found family ☘️ trauma bond
Delving further into her interpretation of the realm of Irish legend, the author takes us deeper into this intricate world, further developing the lead four and cementing them as some of my favourite characters in modern fantasy fiction. Everything from the banter, character interaction, magical powers, fight scenes - all gleamed in her masterful prose. And that twist!

I don’t leave reviews much, but I need Claire to see this so we get BOOK THREE.
Really enjoying this series.
Read a lot of mixed reviews on her first book, but I think she does a great job setting up for the 2nd installment in the series.
This book was a rapid page turner for me. Filled with excitement and major twists. I love that feeling. There were some editing issues I noticed as I read, but the plot is amazing. She does an amazing job of keeping you on your toes. Proud of her!
While the story takes its time to progress, you don't feel stuck in any particular scene, hoping for it to end. The characters are well written, their story compelling! And I'm not huge on spice scenes, but the few sprinkled within don't feel forced or cringey! The cliffhanger is going to kill me, because I don't know when the next book is coming out!
Arrrgggg!!! I was so stressed by the last 100 pages of the book. I laughed, I cried, I took a gazillion anxiety and stress breaks while reading....and now I'll be in limbo until the next book is out! Just Epic.
This was the perfect rising of the story to pair with the slow simmer unfolding of the first book. I cannot wait for book three when it emerges holy moly
Claire is just one of my favourite Irish authors, the story and the characters are just amazing, I am really ini love with the world she is picturing for us.
Wow where to start! So much happens in this sequel and just when I think I know what might happen BAM a new surprise. I am not surprised that there is a cliff hanger it is a Trilogy so that is expected. I’m just annoyed I have to wait for the next book!!!
I will mention I laughed out loud at the glowing tip. 😉😂 Anyone else catch that? (Or maybe I’m just a perv 🤔)
Ok Claire get crackin the third book won’t write itself.
Yes! This is Irish mythology dark fantasy goodness with a wee bit of spice. I am here for the plot. Stayed for the plot. The characters are memorable. Story ebbs and flows beautifully. Well done sequel
