DEMONS EMBRACE by TA KNIGHT release day 1 Feb

When you start a book and think you're going to read a good paranormal romance and the book is so much more, well, all one can do is simply devour it!
Going to college, being in a Sorority is cool, right? Ummm, no, not for Amelia. Kind hearted, sweet Amelia discovers there's been a glitch and she, in effect, has no place to stay! Distraught, with no idea where to go, no idea what to do, she does what any normal people would do, sits on the pavement in despair! Yeah, that's not gonna solve anything...but then, 2 well meaning guys offer her a place for the night, which heck, she can't say no to! But she had no idea that what she's let herself into, what she would uncover, gosh, even I was surprised! A houseful of guys, a fraternity, who although seem sweet and kind are a whole lot more.... interesting!
WHAT they are and WHO they are, now that was a revelation! A whole menagerie of, well, guys, who, as they inform Amelia what they are, had my eyes growing bigger and bigger! The author did a fabulous job of creating such unique characters, flawed but beautiful characters. I loved how different they were, in every sense of the word....and how they embrace Amelia into their fold, although, she's the only human in a household of supernaturals, or is she? The clever way the story unfolds allowed me to gain insight into each of the characters, really opening up their challenges and of course, their secrets. Which incidentally, are unravelled as the story progresses, so cool, so believable. Yeah, I know it's fiction but I forgot that whilst I was reading! The triplets, oh my word, the triplets! They had me giggling at their shenanigans.
From the triplets to Nolan, to Kane, to Seth, they all are characters one can sink their teeth in, no pun intended! And Oliver is just to die for. Not literally, dear heavens, behind his disagreeable facade, he's a true gentleman. See, he's also a vamp and Amelia has a morbid fear of vamps, reasonable, seeing as what occurred to her as a child. What's that, you ask? Heck, read it and feel it! He abhors that he needs to feed on blood, but that's not the only thing that makes him"different" to other vamps, he's got an added element that other vamps are jealous of and none other than his revolting father would gladly see his demise. The Awww, the Ooo, the Noooo, escaping from me as I was reading, I really really was rooting for him! The scenes where they try to overcome, try to 'practice' for the play is unlike any rehearsal you'd contemplate.
Once Amelia gets her head around her strange housemates, and more particularly Oliver, the romance that develops between her and Oliver, the patience she exhibits despite her fear is awesome! I definitely did a "yes!" fist pump when it came to fruition, steamy yet tender, hot yet loving. Truly beautiful. It wasn't only the romantic aspect that captured me, there's mystery and action aplenty, leading to a revelation I never expected, in fact, there was lots I didn't expect and I was very pleasantly surprised each time. I can say in all honesty, Amelia is a perfect MC. She's fiercely independent, and although she knows she's been adopted, she loves her parents with all her heart. She's one of a kind, literally! As she gets familiar with the fact that there ARE supernaturals, there's also an enigma attached to her, no supernatural can influence her, which opens up another set of questions. I love how she confronts her fears, and opens herself up to embrace them. And embrace them she does, especially Oliver.... I loved the sense of belonging Amelia has with all the guys, they all look out for her, they all are her new family, one of them even turns out to be real family!
I really enjoyed the build up in the story, the realism of the tale. This glorious read was so immersive from the git go, the pace fast brilliant, the world building like an aria, rising and rising to enrapture me and setting me down as I came off my high. Loved it! Loved Amber, Oliver, Seth, Nolan, the triplets, the revelations and discoveries, heck, I loved it all!
