Rate this book
Can you trust someone with your heart who isn’t true to themselves?

Payson Moore wasn’t expecting her family to move back to the small town where her parents were raised. Now, Payson is starting her senior year in a brand new school. The upside? She’s miles away from the one person who broke her heart. Focusing on school and football to achieve her dreams, Payson makes a no dating rule for herself especially since she’s competing for the starting spot against the high school’s star quarterback. Sounds easy enough until she meets Sadie. Now Payson’s questioning if the beautiful cheer captain is worth breaking her own rule for.

Sadie Adams is known as the town's princess since her father is the mayor. Everyone assumes she has the perfect life, but not everything is as it seems. If Sadie is to maintain her flawless image, she has to keep a part of herself hidden out of fear of rejection. Sadie does what she can to placate her mother but if she ever found out the feelings Payson stirs in Sadie, she would be disowned in an instant. How can Sadie make it to graduation without a place to call home?

When Sadie and Payson meet, the world around them disappears and they can’t take their eyes off the other. As they spend time together, Sadie questions her true self and how much she’s willing to sacrifice to appease the people she loves. Payson finds herself falling for Sadie but attempts to repress her feelings before she jeopardizes not only her football dreams, but her heart too. Can this cheer captain come out on the sidelines for the new quarterback?

If I’m being honest, this is a book that I probably wouldn’t have picked up on a shelf because of the genre, however I will say that if you are someone who skips passed a book because it doesn’t match your lifestyle I’m going to challenge you to read that book.

Why? Because Sometimes there could be deeper meanings within the book that you could learn from.

There’s 2 Main Female Character in this Book, and honestly I could see myself being friends with both of them. They would be the type of friends that would do anything for you.

I love Devonne’s sense of humor when it comes to a specific Male Characters name in the book. Once you read, you’ll know exactly who I’m talking about, especially if you watch football. 😂

This was an easy read, with a little spice. 🌶️
The Chapters were short, and I loved the dialogue / text messages between the Characters.

The only reason I gave the book 4 🌟 is because some places were a little predictable. However I will say the BIG moment didn’t go like I predicted it would. I’m happy with the way it turned out.

oh my goodnesssss!

Wow. Just wow. I could not put it down. I was mad that i had to wait and read it after work because this book was so good i was glued! Finished it in 2 1/2 days (would’ve been sooner had it not been for my job) lol. It’s the perfect cute love story. The storyline behind it can relate to a lot of people. I don’t want to give spoilers but i can remember a few friends who had to go through what Sadie did while high school. I love this ended in a happy ending and i hope there is more because whew!!!!!!!

I would absolutely recommend this book. But overall I would rate it probably 3.75 because of the cringey esk writing style. Don't get me wrong I got used to it or it got better but I finished the entire book today so it couldn't have been that bad. The dialogue at the beginning though kinda made me want to dnf because it was pretty bad. BUT I still really liked the book. WHY DID IT TAKE PAYSON SO FREAKING LONG TO TALK TO SADIE AFTER THE THIRD ACT CONFLICT???

Cute read

I really like this book. It was a quick cute read. It touched on insecurities that those of us in the LGTBQ community deal with a lot. Since these ladies were still in high school it gave the appropriate amount of spice.
