Isaac Byler is an Amish farmer. His life starts to spiral downwards after the death of his wife. He thinks he has hit bottom when he is told he is to be shunned and most leave the community. But he then realizes there is something more evil that threatens his daughter and the rest of the community.

This is a fairly straightforward short story. There is a twist but it is pretty obvious from the start what it will be. The story is well edited and flows well.

This is *NOT* an Amish short story. Isaac Byler is Amish & the man who visits him is Amish, but other than...it's not Amish.

It is *NOT* a feel-good story.
It is a SAD story.
Gruesome.

Frankly, I did not enjoy it. I kept thinking, surely he'll put a positive spin on this story. He didn't.

Also found an it's error [Chapter 5].
