Alma Getting stranded in Clearwater is a disaster for me. I have nowhere to stay, no money, and no friends. Then I see the now hiring sign and I start to get my hopes up. When I go in for my interview and meet Bishop, the grumpy giant who might just be my new boss, I think that maybe my luck is starting to turn.
Bishop Hiring Alma would be a mistake. For one thing, I think that my insurance rates would go up. I mean, the girl can barely walk and talk without tripping or running into something. A construction site is no place for a curvy little klutz like her. No, I have somewhere better, somewhere safer, for her. My place. Preferably in my bed. Now I just need to figure out how to show her that I'm the man for her and that she belongs here in Clearwater with me.

La historia de amor de Alba y Bishop es instantánea. Adoro que su primer contacto sea cuando ella casi se cae y él está al rescate. Las escenas así que escribe la autora me flipan. Deseando conocer la historia de Fisher también
This was such a cute and romantic Instalove story. Bishop is the owner of a construction company and searches for new hires after a few people quit on him. Alba is new in Clearwater and needs a job so she goes to Bishop and when these two meet sparks instantly fly. Bishop is instantly smitten and gives her a job as secretary/housekeeper, but he wants so much more. Instalove , sweet, fun to read, short story, with a bit of spice, romantic and totally safe (I freaking love dual virgin stories😍😍) without drama and with an awesome HEA 😍😍😍😍 Can't wait to read Fishers story 👍
Alba (h) is desperate for a job and somewhere to stay when she stumbles into the Clearwater Construction office and lands at the feet of Bishop (H27). One look and he instantly falls her, knowing there’s no way he can let the slightly maladroit woman set foot anywhere other than the comfort of his home. Things quickly heat up between the two, even as Alba struggles with self-doubts. Bishop is so sweet as he cares for Alba when her fears and worries threaten to overwhelm her. Hot and steamy grumpy sunshine, instalove curvy girl romance with a side of angst.
Alba needs a job quickly, so she applies to Clearwater Construction. She interviews with Bishop, who tells her that she isn't suitable for this job, but he has another job in mind for her, and she'll have a place to stay.
Bishop isn't letting Alba out of his sight, so he lets her be the live-in housekeeper and office manager. Things quickly heat up between them, and I love how Bishop eases her mind and makes her feel loved. Bishop is a grumpy jerk with everyone but his sweet Alba.
Is Shaw Hart about to embrace the dual virgin/one true love romance trope?!? I am hoping because this really made me happy! Dual virgins Safe No cheating No OM/OW No separation No gross condom use HEA I fully believe in Very sweet, instalove story that is mellow, low angst, not much happens, but we don't need a bunch of events unfolding in order to enjoy a romance. It can be just a couple falling in love, their inner monologues on how they are head over heals for each other, and my favorite, discovering sex and intimacy for the first time together. AND WE GET THAT!! This is the story of Alba, who burnt her apartment down and needs a job ASAP, so she goes to the closest town to try at a job in construction. Bishop, a big burly, gentle giant, who was never interested in being intimate with a woman until he meets his one and only, (my favorite hero type of all time), owns his construction business and turns her down when she asks for a job in construction, only to quickly give her a job as house keeper and personal assistant. She happily, and excitedly agrees and moves in with him. He wants his forever in his home and it is very fast, how their relationship evolves, but I love it and wouldn't want it any other way because I am an insta love person, it is magical to me. We get that, and they have their day to day, mundane conversations over the dinner table which is relaxing and sweet. They have strong feelings for one another, and it is palpable because we feel their passion sparkle! She gets a call from whom she thought was her friend calling her a gold digger, so when she goes on her date which Bishop is so excited for in the sweetest way, she is not into it, because she was rethinking if she is a terrible person. Bishop pulls her on his lap and makes her tell him why she is sad and pulling away, and I am glad that she confesses to him her feelings. He gets angry on her behalf, telling her that she is perfect, she isn't a gold digger and knows it, besides a gold digger would not spend her last twenty dollars at the grocery store to make him home cooked meals. She smiles, agrees that if she feels sad, or unsure, that she always communicates her feelings with him, he is a safe space and he wants her to confide in him. They exchange I love yous and they have sex, their little angst is over, their happily ever after beginning. After I read a novella, even when I read the epilogue, my imagination on the couples future goes further than what's in the book, and Shaw Hart created a couple that to me, will still be in love in their old age, holding each others wrinkled hands, and smiling at each other, still madly in love. It is sweet, it is mellow, it will leave a smile on your face, and it is true that the reason I feel this way is because it is dual virgins, and they are each others first and only, so they shared their first time with each other, and there is nothing more magical than that to me. This story reminded me of my favorite Shaw Hart novella, 'Claimed by her Sasquatch', which is a dual virgin story, very similar, which I love so much and recommend. I read it so many times, the story is about a logger named Heath, a gentle giant, and a down on her luck sweetheart named Emma, and he hires her as his housekeeper after refusing to give her a job chopping trees and running heavy machinery. Even though he doesn't need a house keeper and she cannot cook to save her life they spend time together and they experience sex, love, intimacy, and passion for the first time together. They both know they are each others first and only and like 'Beard Burn', it enhances their experience, knowing there was never anyone that even interested them before they met. They are each others one and only everything, which will never cease to make me swoon and sigh dreamily. I recommend both! I hope Shaw Hart writes more low angst dual virgin romances in future, if she does, I am all in to read her books again. Fisher's story is coming up, with his heroine, and I am looking forward to it. He is opening a resort in wolf valley and the heroine won't sell him the land he wants. Bishop says, that he knew Fisher his whole life, and like him was never interested in a woman, so I am hoping that we get another sweet, dual virgin/one true love story! I can't wait! Happy reading!
Wonderful!! This was a nice quick, short read. I really enjoyed this book!
Bishop and Alba when she comes to Clearwater Construction looking for a job. Bishop hires Alba but not to do construction, he hires her to be his secretary and housekeeper. Bishop and Alba head to his home, he shows her around. Bishop heads back to work and Alba gets busy cleaning and making supper. When Bishop comes home they eat supper than a thunderstorm starts. When the power goes out Bishop finds out that Alba is frightened. Bishop looks around for flashlights or candles but can't find any. Bishop takes Alba into his bedroom and tells her he'll start a fire then she can have his bed. Alba asks Bishop to stay with her so they spend the night in his bed together. The next day Bishop goes to work but can't stop thinking about Alba, one of his guys tells him he needs to take her out on a date. When Bishop gets home he talks to Alba, then asks her if he can't show her around Clearwater and take her out to dinner. Alba agrees and they decide on the next night. Alba stumbles and Bishop catches her, then he kisses her. Bishop takes Alba to his room where he pleasures her and they make love. The next day Bishop heads to work and can't wait to get home to Alba. While working Alba gets a phone call from her former roommate. Alba's roommate accuses her of being a gold digger, and she believes her. Alba goes to pack her things when Bishop comes home. They head out on their date, but Bishop knows something is wrong. Alba tells him she doesn't want to go out to eat so they head home. Bishop pulls Alba into his lap and asks her what is wrong. Alba breaks down and cries telling him what her former roommate called her. Bishop reassures her that she's not a gold digger, and that he was the one to make the first move. They make out in his truck, then Bishop gets a phone call from his best friend, Fisher. Fisher is just down the road and wants to stop by. Bishop introduces Fisher to Alba, then she heads inside. Bishop tells Fisher he loves Alba, and Fisher tells Bishop he thinks he's found his one. After Fisher leaves Bishop head inside and takes Alba back to his room. Five years later, Bishop and Alba were married six months after they met. They waited a little while to have a son, who's was born a few months ago. Bishop still runs Clearwater Construction and Alba is his assistant running things from their home. Alba is thinking about having another baby sometime soon. Alba never thought she's fall in love, getting married and have children. It's all because she wondered into Clearwater Construction.

Beard Burn is the first book of the Clearwater Construction Series and is about Bishop and Alba. It was refreshing and innocent (if that makes sense) Bishop and Alba were both well written and I was hooked in the story from the first chapter. I loved the grumpy/sunshine trope and the double virgins. The spicy scenes were great, just enough heat but also some innocence to show they were learning how to love each other. I like the way Alba was able to make Bishop smile when he never really did before. He fell hard and fast but so did she. It has a good plot and alot of different scenes but they don't go on and on..when their pasts are discussed, they talk about what happened but showed they learned from it and didn't dwell on it. Alba had a hard life but that didn't make her not see the good in the small things and she was optimistic through it all...and I honestly think Bishop needed that. He needed to see that he could be loved and that even when something bad happens, there can be good to come out of it. 5⭐ 3🌶
I liked the story, Bishop and Alba were great for each other. It just kinda throws me off when they start the way this one did with her looking for a job and him offering a room and board as his housekeeper and assistant and her accepting the job immediately. Mind you it’s not the job she’s applying for, she’s never met him before and she just agreed to go live with him. I’m all for falling for each other at first glance but agreeing to live with him and not even having anyone to reach out to verify where she would living or staying just sent off too many internal alarms to really let me get into the story. The one person she could reach out to and talk to, her former roommate was an absolute nightmare and instead made her feel bad and tried to get in her head. The way Bishop handled it was perfect and super sweet and honestly made me glad I’d finished the story.

This book is a part of the Clearwater Construction series and focuses on Bishop and Alba. Bishop owns his own construction company and had been looking for someone to replace one of his construction workers. When Alba stops by the office to apply for the job, Bishop immediately knows that he has found his woman. He decides to hire Alba as his housekeeper and his secretary instead of the construction job, especially since she was in desperate need of housing and a job. He wanted to be able to keep her close and to provide for her. They both knew that they had finally met the person who they had always needed in their life. I love how it was only them for each other. This was such a great story and a great introduction to the series.

Alba is our innocent, beautiful, clumsy, blond MFC. Her parents passed away in a car accident and she’s now alone in the world. Looking for a job, she lands in Oregon, at Clearwater Construction site. Bishop is our big handsome MMC. He owns Clearwater Construction. He’s obsessed with Alba instantly when she literally falls at his feet and looks up at him with her beautiful smile😂! As for Alba, she feels an instant peace and feeling of protectiveness coming from Bishop. And wow was he hot 😜! This sweet, sweet story is about their adventure in finding their happy ever after. A “leave you feel good” story, that Shaw Harts great at!🥰🥰.

Alma and Bishop are the cutest. The way both of them danced around their feelings for less than a day was cute and comical. They have an adorable meet-cute (in my opinion) and then quickly fall into place at Bishop's house. They acted as if they had known each other for years. I loved them together. The whole best friend being jealous of Alma over her new man was just the right amount of drama between them. I would've hated for them to have tons of drama. The way Bishop solved it was great. That man is the best. I wish I had one in real life. The novella was great. It had steamy scenes, little drama, and cute scenes. What else would you want?

This is an incredible book!!! I enjoyed reading all about Alba and Bishop. Alba is clumsy and practically a walking disaster and is looking for a job at a construction sight. Automatically, Bishop tells her no, but offers her another job doing part time office work a housekeeper for him. All of this to keep her close to him! Alba is just as infatuated with Bishop as he is with her. Since she is a curvy girl, she does not have as much self confidence as she should but seeing how Bishop looks at her changes that. This author is one of my favorites and she does a fantastic job of telling their story. If you haven’t tried reading Shaw Hart, this is a great place to start! A definite must read!.

Shaw Hart kicks off the brand new Clearwater Construction multi-author series with the swoony instalove Beard Burn. Bishop is the grumpy owner of Clearwater Construction in his small hometown, happy to live alone and focus on his company until the beautiful and klutzy Alba walks into his office looking for a job. Not about to let the woman who's he is determined to make her his work on a job site, he offers her the job of being his secretary and housekeeper. Down to her last dollars, Alba eagerly accepts the position - equally as enamoured with her new boss. Have Bishop and Alba both found what neither was even looking for? A fun, quick, steamy read.

Alba has no job, no where to stay and is living out of her car. She needs a job, it is a long shot when she heads to Clearwater Construction for a job on the crew. One look at her potential new boss and things are looking better. Bishop has a job in mind for Alba but it is not on the construction site, she is too clumsy for that. He needs to keep her safe, even from herself.
He needs to convince her that this is to be permanent, and in his bed. Bishop who has been a grumpy individual, shows Alba another side, one that smiles. This is a steamy read, the story moves along fast.

Beard Burn is a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, grumpy-sunshine, curvy virgin gets her hunk romance. Bishop is a hunky, grumpy construction company owner. Able is a quirky, clutzy, curvy free spirit currently without a home or a job. When she applies for a job with Bishop's company, he knows she can't work construction but knows he wants her. He offers her the job of a company receptionist and his housekeeper. She accepts and feels the same instant attraction. Their chemistry is hot, the drama is low, and the ending was very happy. I really loved this couple and story.

Instalove cute novella Simple and sweet romance. Bishop desperately needs help in his construction business, on site and in the office. Alba desperately needs job, a place to live, money and a new start since she accidentally set fire to her apartment and ended her working from home. She is clumsy and unstable, but beautiful and cheerful, lightening up Bishop's rough demeanor and gruff exterior. Like the characters and their relationship. It is well written and easy reading.

That’s what I love about Shaw Hart’s books. They are always quick and very hot and spicy. I loved Beard Burn, Alba, down on her luck, losing everything in a fire(which she caused) is a walking hot mess! Bishop, the owner of a construction company, up to his eyeballs in paperwork(which he hates) and takes one look at Alba, and knows that he needs to protect her and keep her. When a phone call from a so-called friend, everything they have together is threatened. Can Bishop fix things? Can Alba trust herself? Loved it!!

Alba is really sweet, but clumsy, chaos and a trail of destruction follow her. But as clumsy as she is, she is perfect for Bishop. He may run a successful company but when it comes to the instalove that hit him when Alba tumbled into his life...he has no idea where to begin which is actually quite endearing. He is not brash and overconfident but equally not that shy that they just gaze longingly at each other. This is a sweet novella, perfect for a lunch break read or an evening escape. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.
I was surprised to find this quick read based around construction and had to try it out. Poor Alma just needs any type of job but her sweetness and clumsiness could make it hard to work at a construction site. Bishop knows how huge of a problem this could be for him but he wants her safe and close to him.
This was such a cute instalove story! I was so happy that there wasn’t any drama and a happily ever after for them. It helped get me out of the third act drama vicious cycle I was stuck in and was exactly what I needed!
"Non so perché, ma quando l'ho visto per la prima volta, un senso di pace si è posato su di me. Ero sicura che mi avrebbe salvata. Mi sembrava di aver incontrato il mio cavaliere dall'armatura splendente... o meglio, dalla camicia di flanella splendente."
"Il cuore mi si gonfia nel petto. Questa è la mia ragazza. Alba è sola quanto me. Credo di averlo capito il giorno in cui l'ho assunta. Entrambi eravamo alla ricerca della nostra metà e sono così felice che abbia trovato il mio annuncio e abbia deciso di venire da me."
Fast paced read that has the best storyline and interesting characters with some twists and turns that keep you intrigued with how the book is written. I am a fairly new reader of Shaw's writings, and I can honestly say that I love how great of a writer she is. Her books are HOT, and I LOVE that in a book. You are going to love reading this book about Bishop and Alba because you want to know if they get together.
This was a short and steamy book! I really enjoyed Alba and Bishop together. These two fall over each other as soon as they meet but Bishop has is work cut out for him to make sure that Alba knows she belongs with him. These two are sweet yet steamy and when Alba tries to pull away, Bishop won't let her get far! I really enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to more from this series.

Bishop (mmc) Alba (mfc)
He needs help, but she's so clumsy she is a liability. She needs a job and a place to stay. It's an instant connection, but will they be able to accept it?
Quick, funny and touching. There's no link to Fisher's story, so I'm wondering where it is.
Looking for a job and ends up with more! This is a cute and short story about Alma and Bishop. She is trying her best to survive and goes to the construction site to apply for the job Bishop has open. Unfortunately she trips and doesn’t make a good impression but he is attracted to her that he offers her a job in his home to help clean and maintain it. Well needless to say this is where the story takes off!
The story is fast-paced and one of those Insta-love stories.
I liked the MMC. It’s like a light lit up inside him when he met her. There were also some scenes that were funny, spicy, and a little serious. All in all, I still had fun reading this book.

This was a really cute instalove romance. It was a short, well written story and it had a good pace. The storyline was entertaining and only had a tiny bit of drama. Bishop and Alma had great chemistry and I loved their HEA.

Cute short story, love the aspect as he calms her storm. Fun, pure characters that are both innocent and a bit on the shy side when it comes to having a relationship. Liked how each brought out the best in each other.

Alba and Bishop story is a fast read that takes your heart of a whirlwind ride part uncertainty and part heated desire.
Alba's character makes you smile as she might not be perfect but is for Bishop. Bishop is strong and knows what he wants and is determined to make Alba his.
Amazing read.
