DNF @ 88%

I love a cinnamon roll Minotaur so I was excited to start this. At around 300 pages, I was looking forward to reading Theo and Zoey’s story, but as it went on, I realized 300 pages was way too much for what was actually happening in the background.

The drama surrounding their romance and lives was way too drawn out. What happened over 4+ chapters could have been condensed into 1 or 2 to keep pace with how the book started.

You could call it a slow burn but there were a lot of unnecessary scenes and super slow pacing that turned slow burn into slight annoyance.

It was a DNF for me about 60%.
It's just a little too wholesome for me and nothing really happens.
And he doesn't even have a dad bod?
Like he literally has stacks of abs and pecks and slabs of muscles. He is just hairy.

Loved this story and couldn't help but love the storyline. Theo and another baby transported to earth (like all to others in the Orc Fire series) all alone but luckily found by a loving couple and raised as their sons. But being Other treated as monsters by many others. But he found Zoey and their relationship is so sweet and though they have some problems. True love does help them through. It's an amazing story with an awesome HEA. A definite must-read and a definite keeper.

If I liked Halmark movie type romances, I would have given this 5 out of 5 stars. Some points were way too sappy for me, but the relationship building was fantastic and the spice was very nice!

Along with his brother, Theo’s a Minotaur living in Georgia. Despite finishing at the top of his business college in accounting, he struggled to be hired at a job. His father, a US Senator, had to pull some strings. Due to his enhanced “Other” hearing, he overhears his human coworkers cruelly mocking almost everything about him including his “Dad Bod.” He thinks that despite his Minotaur size, and his horns (hello, Minotaur) that being “defurred,” (still a Minotaur) will help him blend in. He did not expect to be immediately smitten by his esthetician / cosmetologist, Zoey, as she talks him OUT of changing his body so dramatically and gives him a makeover instead including a mani-pedi…err.. a mani-hoofie.

Zoey can’t believe that a Minotaur has scheduled laser hair removal in her shop! She’s been fascinated by the Others’ and their exotic music for years, even though it’s banned from public broadcast. Zoey has been able to find it on the “dark web.” She persuades Theo to not change anything and embrace his… well his Minotaur-ness. She’s thrilled when Theo asks her out on a date, and they begin to fall for each other. Although Theo is only 1 of 2 Others, never mind Minotaurs, living east of the Mississippi River, his homeschooled, remote college classes and privileged upbringing has only temporarily protected from the ugliness of the “Purists” a racist, Other-hating extremist group.

Once Zoey and Theo’s relationship is revealed, it impacts not only them, but Theo’s family as well putting them all in danger. They can only stand up to the hate and proudly proclaim their love and live their best lives…

Another Winner!

A spin off of the “Others” series and part of the Bad Bod Monsters series. Theo and his brother were babies when they were torn through space and landed on earth. He and his brother were adopted by a Senator and his wife and raised in Georgia. They were loved and treasured, but were kept segregated from humans for their own safety. Now they are adults and trying to fit into society with little success. In a misguided attempt to appear more human, Theo goes to a salon to have all of his body hair lasered off. Fortunately, Zoey is there to talk him out of it!

Zoey has always been fascinated with the “Others”, especially the Minotaurs, even though she has never met one! When Theo comes to her salon she is horrified when he tells her he wants all of his body hair removed. Fortunately, cooler heads prevail and she ends up giving him a total body makeover, which he loves.

This is such a beautiful, gentle tale of love while also addressing some pretty pointed flaws with society. Can their new found love survive the Purists attacks as well as the media storm that ensues when pictures of Zoey and Theo show up in the paper? Excellent book!

Dad Bod: Minotaur is part of the Dad Bod Monster series and boy did Theo grab life by the horns!

I loved the innocent, sweet romance feel and the slow burn of an out of the norm, budding relationship and then top that all off with super spicy chemistry, many laugh out loud moments and a bit of drama and you have the makings of a fun and entertaining read.

Theo’s “Otherness”, gentleness and shyness is attractive but his growth and jumping out of his comfort zone is oh so hot! Zoey is so sweet, compassionate and understanding all while trying to reel in her own emotions and need to clamber up his furry and beefy hide!

Dad Bod: Minotaur can be read as a standalone book and I highly recommend it. But, if you want to get dragged through space, deposited into the Mojave Desert and thrown into the mysterious world of the “Others” I also recommend Alana Khans Orcfire series. Pure entertainment!

First off just urrrgggh😡😡 that ending gave me whiplash and pissed me off. I was going to give it 3.5 stars because i did enjoy it but it was a slooooow burn, like nothing really went down till about thirty chapters in. Then the whiplash happened where we went from his fathers political cleanup fiasco to six years later and they have two kids?! I feel like a huge chunk is missing and you have to read the epilogue to learn about what happened in the end to the parents. Because it just jumps from the dad saying if he loses the election then maybe him and his wife will just travel for a few years before another election, to six years later. This book put me through it. It took me a while to get into, then i was interested and drawn in with the drama bam! I don't get my conclusions on the drama i basically just get a fade to black like a movie where they ride off in the sunset so i am mad and it brought the rating to a 2.5 ✨ for me.

I thought this was pretty sweet, and the spice was more than nice. I loved how Zoey was so very good at cutting through Theo's worries and overthinking.

I think we all need a Theo who knows just what to say at all times. As well as a Zoey to see what we're going through, and knows a quick way to ease us out of our internal tensions.

I loved their little dates and that they didn't jump straight into the sack, but their oh so passionate kiss by the lake felt a little awkward, but that might just be me. It felt like too much too soon out in public? I felt like they should have been looking out for each other and worrying what other people would think, not worrying about themselves, but feeling like they had to protect their partner, type deal.

Over all I liked all the characters, the story flow, and how it all came together. I wish we could have seen something befall Theo's crap ex-employer, though. xD

Always look inside a being before judging in ignorance.

I loved how this story unfolds. Theo gains his self confidence after Zoey encourages him to be the best version of what he is ( a Minotaur) instead of trying to fit in with his co-workers. Both he and his brother had been almost hidden due to biased views of the people in their community. Zoey had been interested in the "Others" since she was young. Due to the hate filled drama that happened after a photo of Theo and Zoey was published. Unwarranted abuse and harassment forces the family to make a stand of solidarity in spite of what chaos could follow. Things do work out in the end. Hopefully the township did learn to look past what they think they see and learned to seek out the truth about truly is. At least the fictional characters in this story , there is a happy ending.

Omgosh!! If you've been reading Alana's "Others" series, you will want to grab this one! It is part of that world. Theo and his brother were adopted outside of the "zone" when they landed. So this is a different take on the "Other's" storyline. It was such a good read! He is so sweet and innocent yet strong and sure of himself in other ways. She is the perfect match for him! I cannot wait to hear Alfie's downfall, err story hahah! I love that Alana took the "Other's" in a different route than just being stuck in the zone. "What would happen if they WERE able to live and grow up outside of the zone?". Even though this is part of that other world/series, it can be read easily as a standalone.

Whoever heard of a totally bald minotaur. That was what Theo decided he needed when he heard a lot of negative comments at his workplace about his alleged Dad Bod. He appeared at the salon to have his fur "ripped off". Luckily salon owner Sarah is able to talk him out of that idea, instead giving him a manicure, fur wash and condition and hoof polish. This encounter opens the door to what starts out as an amazing friendship.
Just because people are different doesn't mean they are dangerous, or should be embarrassed by their difference. Sarah sees beyond the outward appearances and sees inside Theo's heart and hers melts.
An interesting and addictive story from Alana Khan who never fails to b ring amazing stories to our ereaders.

Definitely insta-love, generally fluffy romance with some commentary around segregation and the treatment of Others. It just wasn't for me, at the start it did feel a bit like Zoey was fetishizing Theo and was immensely attracted to him just because he was a Minotaur and nothing to do with him as a person whatsoever. Theo did also have that instant attraction to her also.

Some good character growth for Theo, he gained confidence in himself and his appearance and started to realise what he was worth.

It just all happened over the span of maybe 2 weeks and then it ended but wasn't really resolved and it was suddenly 6 years later in the epilogue. If you want a insta-love, fluffy monster romance this is for you, it just wasn't for me.

These "dad bod" stories look promising. This edition introduces us to someone who is tied to another series by Alana Khan, but is not someone we've met. Theo (and his brother) were adopted by a senator and is one of 2 known Others east of the Mississippi River. As such, he is pretty introverted and isolated. Zoey finds the Minotaurs fascinating and really wants to meet one. She finally does and finds him to be charming and sweet and quite alluring. As always, there is a tense situation that brings them closer together and they get their HEA. This is a sweet and fun little romance that you will enjoy.

Theo and his brother fell to earth when they were babies. His parents were able to raise them outside of the zone. He is lonely and lives and works like a hermit.
Zoey is an esthetician. Theo comes to her to have all his hair removed to attempt to look more human. Not gonna happen as he's tall with horns. Zoey has wanted to meet a Minotaur for forever and Theo walks into her business. Instant attraction.
Alana addresses some tough issues in this series with empathy and firmness. Great characters bring this story to life so you feel a part of it. Her series gets better and better. And there is a well deserved HEA.

He was a baby minotaur adopted by a human Senator when the Others (Orcs,Nagas,Wolvens, and Minotuars) arived from a different place than earth. Now he's grown with a college degree but belongs in neither human nor Minotuar society. When he discovers what his Coworkers really think of him, he decides to make some changes in his life. Can this shy, sweet minotaur navigate this unfriendly world to become the minotaur he was meant to be? Read this book and find out. I highly recommend you read this book and all the other books in the series.

This is a fab addition to this fun multi-author series and I absolutely loved Theo! He was such a gentle soul. I was miffed he felt he had to change to try and fit in so I was beyond glad that Zoey, his esthetician, was able to talk him out of such a dramatic change. Once these two start dating, you can't help but melt as you follow them on their journey....until people realize they're in a relationship and make waves :( Expect to get caught up in this sweet and steamy romance with fab humour, drama, prejudice and acceptance. Well done!

Another world, or another dimension?

This is a really interesting premise for a series, and I look forward to reading the rest of them. I found that a lot of the world building really reminded me of Laurann Dohner’s New Species series, which I really enjoyed.

I do wish Theo had actually had a Dadbod, instead of being all toned and muscular but he is young in this book… he’ll get there. I really liked when his alpha type mating drive kicked in and he got all dominant… It was a nice change from his normal golden-retriever personality.

I loved this book! Ms Khan addresses an issue (actually, several issues) that we don’t often consider but does so in an entertaining and yet enlightening manner. First in point is the fact that women are not alone with their body-image insecurities. Next, but no less important, is the fact that love has no borders or boundaries (nor should it have) and true love should never be judged by whom we love, regardless of who (or what) they are.

Another captivating story. This is such a feel good read.

Always feeling uncomfortable in society, barely accepted, and leading somewhat of a sheltered life would leave anyone insecure. However fortunately for Theo, he stumbles across Zoey. She gives him the self esteem he was so desperately needing. Did she have ulterior motives? Most definitely, but in the most intoxicating way. They make such a wonderful couple with a happily ever after!.

As a young minotaur, Theo is adopted by a human couple and raised thousands of miles from "the Others". Despite a happy home life, he has been isolated from "the Others" and rejected by humans. In an attempt to change his appearance so he can fit in, Theo meets Zoey, a free-spirited human. Join the rollercoaster ride as their interest, connection and love play out in front of the world. Couldn't put the book down.

What a plot! The first time reading about minotaur shifters. Theo is a shy account who tries to break out of his shell because he wants a real and loving relationship. Zoey loves the Others as that is how Theo is classified. They have a chance meeting through her job. This is the sweetest love story. I love this genre and want to read more of this genre. I volunteered to read a copy for an honest review.

I saw this new series and new I'd love to get on board with these new characters, to enjoy. Alana Khan has given us yet more characters lives, to delve into. We meet Zoey and Theo in this book. There is a connection to a character in another book and if you follow this author, you will be aware. :D
I'm always happy to read this authors books and love her creative mind, that has us readers, so happy with her creations.

I really love stories that bring unique characters together because of their inner attraction and not what they represent. In a world of humans and “others”co-exist, Zoey and Theo certainly have barriers to overcome. The way the story unfolded and eventually was resolved was yet another reminder to the power of personal connections, love and respect/ understanding to live our best lives in harmony with each other. Loved it!

I received an ARC and am voluntarily sharing my honest review.

I love the story of Theo and Zoey starts, reminding me of first teenage love with all the hesitation and insecurities. Seeing their love blossom and Zoey helping the shy massive minotaur open up more and try news things. Of course there's some steamy parts for you all to get some shivers down the spine as well as sweet moments that will get you all melt. This book is part of a series that are linked together and awaiting for you to read.

The lead character’s are adorable. Like give you a tooth ache sweet. Their little love story is totally cute, and I love the way Theo gains his confidence and his evolution.

It was a bit longer than it needed to be,IMO. -⭐️ for the lack of actual dad bodness, and -⭐️ for the prejudicial/political story line turn. Although the fam was great, you could have missed me with all that.

Otherwise a sweet cozy little read❤️

Actual rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️. 5
Spice: 🌶🌶🌶

This story is so sweet and innocent. It's connected to the OrcFire series about "others" that have been transported to earth by unknown means. If you like this story and the world building, I definitely recommend giving that series a go. This book can also be read as a standalone without any issues.

I loved getting to know a new species amongst the Others, and seeing how their life is outside of the Zone.
Theo is so sweet and innocent. I loved how shy he was and seeing how he came out of his shell. Zoey was the perfect match for him, just as sweet and kind but confident and lively to balance out Theo's shyness.

Their lovestory is so wholesome, sprinkled with a little drama and some steamy moments in the s** shack.

I'm very excited to read Alfie's story and see which woman manages to reel in this bachelor.
