I’m a housewife, married to a man who is the definition of husband material. But sometimes it doesn’t feel like enough. When I hold a stack of new books, I can’t wait to slip into the fantasy within them. I love living in dark, fictional worlds. Neglecting my wifely duties, I find my pleasure within the pages.
I want my husband to be like all my book boyfriends, but I’m too ashamed of what gets me off to tell him what I want or let him read my books. My real life is wonderful but my fictional one is sexier.
When a party causes my worlds to merge, will my fantasies finally become reality? Will my husband turn out to be my real life book boyfriend? Her Fantasy is a dark contemporary anthology-like novella. Darkness levels vary between chapters. Pearl Clutchers beware—this book will dive into deep, dark fantasies.
Trigger Warnings: STRONG sexual content, Infidelity within fantasies, masturbation, abuse of authority, forbidden, age gap, spanking, forced breeding (no pregnancy), MFM, anal sex with an object, voyeurism, exhibitionism, stalking, obsession, threat of violence, and abduction, dub con, step siblings, substance use, praise, degradation, control, gun play, orgasm control, forced orgasm, group sex, some FF.
Lauren’s stories are often emotionally raw, with lots of twists and turns. She describes her writing as “where light meets dark”, which represents how her witty humor compliments the darkness in every story. Instead of trying to mold her writing to fit in a box, she chooses to be unapologetically herself. While her focus is on Romance with dark elements, subgenre is no constraint for her. The common theme in every book is finding love when you least expect it. She enjoys putting her characters through tribulations, allowing their triumphs to be that much more poignant. Make sure you have your seatbelts secured. It’s always a bumpy ride.
When she’s not working, she’s writing. When she’s not writing, she’s spending time with her husband, her friends, or her pets. You might also find her on a horseback trail ride or sitting beside a waterfall in Upstate New York. She has a pretty normal life, yet her stories are anything but.
Zoey is a married woman who loves her fantasy novels, just as we do I'm sure. She feels like she's in a comfortable but bland marriage with her super hot husband. You can say he's vanilla, when she wants vanilla with extra condiments on top.
Each chapter is basically a fantasy scene she imagines while reading her books. From boss/employee spice, mafia, to MC group scenes. Each one is naughty and HOT. Chapter 7, that's my favorite of all, and that's all I'm going to say. I really enjoyed reading this because I feel like most people can relate to her situation, as do I, and seeing what her husband does and how their relationship turns out even more perfect, it was sweet.
Communication is key! One of my favorite reads this year even though it was short and I wanted more :P I'm looking forward to reading more from this author. I received an ARC for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Zoey is in love with her husband Michael who is vanilla in the bedroom. She is scared to talk about her sexual desires openly to her husband and for that she is sexually unsatisfied. She craves things that her book boyfriends deliver in spades. She loves their dark and forbidden sexual acts. Although she gets pleasure in these pages, she also feels guilty and embarrassed about cheating on her husband with the fictional characters. However, the book delivers for Zoey and the twist at the end is fantastic!
Zoey and Michael area married couple who are stuck in a rut, with daily routines of work, cooking and cleaning, and a blah romance life. Zoey becomes immersed in the books she reads, replacing the characters in the novel with herself in her imagination. But she feels guilty with her pleasure but unable to ask Michael for what she needs. This story had a different twist on fantasy and I loved it 😍

Lauren knows how to keep her readers coming back for more. She keeps you interested with a captivating story line that is both relatable and full of imagination. Her fantasy was the perfect combination of both. Who doesn't love their other half but also gets lost in the world of dark romance.
Zoey is a wife and an avid dark romance reader. As she starts to read her new books she get's lost in the world the author created. She envisions herself in the FMC shoes as the spicy scenes play out in the pages.
This book will take you through five scenes that will have you wanting more of the books that Zoey is reading.
Please check those w@rnings before diving into this book. While a story and fantasy there is cheating in one fantasy and objects used in another.
my first time reading this author's book and it was fine. i'll definitely check out more of her books though!
🦇 the premise was interesting in itself, the fmc getting immersed in fictional books to meet her book bfs instead of making love with her real life husband that's not really satisfying in bed lmaoo. 🦇 i did enjoy the ending, i did not see that coming. i knew something dodgy was gonna happen but this?? nah. 😂 🦇 some scenes were a little spicy but i still had issues with them that prevented me from enjoying them. 🦇 i didn't like the male narrator in the audiobook. it felt like he was talking like a robot, there wasn't any personality to his voice lol. 🦇 i didn't like age gap trope which was the case in the first spicy scene. i mean c'mon... 55 with a 25 year old? that's just too much for me. 💀 🦇 then there was reverse harem scene and it involved other guys but also a father and his son??? HELL NO. that's just disgusting. 🦇 then my opinion went more downhill when it involved a stalker and he said he'd been watching her have thingy with other men... just no. 🦇 i wouldn't mind a stepbrother trope but when you grow up with them since teenage years together into adulthood?? nope. there's history there. idk i'm being specific. i wouldn't mind if they just moved in together and started developing something lol. 🦇 the sex scenes were also similar to each other and the different characters said the exact same thing sometimes, so that threw me off as well. there was barely anything unique about each spicy scene apart from the the characters' backgrounds. 🦇 this book is short tho so i do still recommend reading it if you want a short smut book to fly through.
3.5 (rating novellas is hard, but Angelina Rocca's narration alone is worth rounding up).
You ever read a book that feels like it’s winking at you? Her Fantasy doesn’t just wink—it slowly unbuttons your shirt, whispers I know why you’re here, and invites you to lie back and enjoy the show.
At its heart, Her Fantasy is about a woman with the perfect husband and the perfectly polite life… who also just happens to love the hell out of smutty books. Sound familiar? Yeah. Same. It’s meta in the most seductive sense: you’re watching a woman get off on her fantasies, while being pulled into those same fantasies with her.
The structure is a clever little tease, too. We get these quick, almost voyeuristic peeks into her married life—domestic, sweet, calm—and then, bam, we’re swept into her fantasy world where things get very uncalm, very fast. Every fantasy is its own mini-story, and they’re spicy, smart, and styled to make your pulse do a little jazz solo.
And then there’s that final scene. Oh. My. God. It’s not just hot—it’s earned. It’s the perfect collision of fantasy and reality, and I loved that. Chefs kiss, toe curl, spine tingle.
This novella doesn’t pretend to be anything other than what it is—a wicked, winking, seductive little novella that says, “Hey babe, what’s your fantasy?”
And if you can surrender to that? You’re going to have a very good time.
Don't go into Her Fantasy thinking it's one of my more plot heavy novellas. It's set up in almost a little anthology like fashion and it's a fast paced spicy read! The fmc is a smut reading wife and she's relatable as F. Some of these characters may get their own books in the future. Enzo's books are already out or on pre order for a December release! Check out Edge of Sin and Closer to Sin!
i rarely listen to or read m/f but my favorite narrator did this story so i gave it a a try. such a different kind of story i really enjoyed it im glad i tried it
I think most of us do the same as the heroine in this book..live our sex lives thro' our reading material. It's such fun, can be angsty, can be annoying, can be frustrating etc but it lights up our lives, Loved how the wife lived her sex life thro' the books she bought and just loved the ending..full marks Ms Biel.
Not sure about you but Lauren just encapsulated me in what my brain does a lot of the time when I’m reading 🤭
When your reading those smut books and you fantasise about what it would be like to be the FMC, well this book gives you that storyline.
A quick read with a few small stories to really ensure you have the gist of the book and hits where it should 🌶️🌶️🌶️😈 There’s a little bit of everything!
I received this book as an ARC but let me tell you this is EXACTLY what the doctor ordered. What a fun book! I really enjoyed this read! Let me tell you this much, this author knows her audience! What spicy book nerd wouldn’t immediately relate to the heroine, Zoe, a fellow spicy book lover who fantasizes about her various book boyfriends and self inserts into each book and it’s corresponding spicy scene. 🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️. I won’t spoil the ending but she does end up at a super secret, fancy party with her husband and her fantasies just may turn into reality. Highly recommend for a fast and spicy read that will help get you out of a book slump!

READ TW/CW related to this book before proceeding; it's serious book porn.
If you are an avid romance reading you will relate to the FMC of this book. It's not often you can read such a refreshing story that you can also relate to and recall the similar feelings you had. It was immersive, reminded me of the times I'd sit curled up in bed just losing myself in the fiction of it all.
The book had me smiling, biting my nails and nodding along in approval. Why? Because if you're a reader, you will understand the feelings of enjoying that overly smutty scene. That one scene you weren't expected but appears and has you on edge. From the vivid descriptions to the different perspectives all of which we've all experienced. Talk about thigh clenchingly good.
This novella was way more fun to read than I anticipated and I would totally read it again. 😂
A beautiful quick read, to have a reader smirking and saying "Yes, I want that too."
This was steamy, of course, but so much fun! Zoey is obsessed with spicy novels, and spends all her free time reading and getting completely absorbed in these stories. She wishes her own sex life was as hot at the ones she reads about.
I loved all the different romance novel tropes and how Zoey would imagine herself in the various situations. It was like reading multiple stories in the one book.
this novella is 𝐅İ𝐋👏🏽𝐓𝐇¥👏🏽 in the most delectable way!! a nice appetizer from 𝘓𝘉 that shows off her spectrum of writing. how relatable this was, the accuracy, & the 🌶️...𝘰𝘯 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘯 𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘵!! every fantasy, every trope…was delicious!! the lvl of $pıce on this is different from her others. for me, the end is a fantasy come true in itself coz holy fucccc michael really 𝐈𝐒 perfect!! as much as i was hoping for this to be longer, i thought that was the perfect finish…leaving me wanting more!!
✔️ 5 short stories/fantasies ✔️ age gap/workplace ✔️ 🏍MC ✔️ $talkr/dübc0n ✔️ stepsibs/tab00 ✔️ mafıa
Zoey is your relatable romance reader, not fully satisfied with her husband's gentle ways of lovemaking though she loves him. She escapes in the erotic worlds of her romance novels where she is the heroine. From stepbrother to mafia romance to MC. My favorite hero was the stepbrother.
Then finally at the end of the book, Zoey's husband, Michael, finally gets it and gives her a scene like one that would be in one of her romance novels.
I started reading this book before July 5th but put it down for some reason. I also could only access it on my computer. I just hope I won't be Zoey in the future: in a happy marriage but one without true passion.
A quick but satisfying read, 'Her Fantasy' by new-to-me author, Lauren Biel highlights the truth many women do not speak about - sometimes a little fantasizing is what we need to get through our days!
The main female character, Zoey, is living the typical suburban life; she is married to a man she adores, Michael, who loves and treats her well. However, underneath it all, she is a little dissatisfied and uses her "book boyfriends" to add a little spice to the mundane.
These short but smexy stories as seen by Zoey are deliciously dark; they encompass some of my favorite tropes, such as dubious consent and obsessed/stalker alpha males. Reading them was the best part of this novella for me. While the stories were on the darker side, there was a HEA for the two main protagonists, giving it all a wholesome ending.
Trigger warnings include: stalking/obsession, dub-con, gunplay, and violence. This may not be the book for everyone; it is definitely intended for persons 18 years and older. While I have never read anything by Biel before, she has definitely made a new fan in me!
*A great many thanks to BookSirens and Lauren Biel for this ARC. It is important to note that I was under no commitment to provide a positive review, and all opinions are undoubtedly my own.*
Either there is something wrong with me or with the description of this book, because there was almost nothing 'dark' here. 👀 And I have to say, Zoey's fantasies are a bit boring and repetitive… But if you're looking for a relaxing “vanilla” read for a Sunday afternoon, then this is the right choice! ✨ The writing was great as always, just a little lighter, which I didn't expect, that’s all. 😁 8/10.
This was exactly what I needed. Right book, right time.
The story was great, the writing was beautiful and fast paced. The idea of this books is amazing. Each chapter is a spicy book our main character is reading. She’s living through her fantasies through them.
Although she has a perfect husband who would understand her if she could talk to him about her fantasies. Understandably it’s not always easy but communication is the key!!
The last chapter is definitely my favourite it was the perfect conclusion to the story 🥵
This is the most relatable book I've ever read. Zoey is happy in her comfortable married life but she likes to escape into spontaneous crazy sexy adventures in her romance novels. I think every spicy romance reader can relate. I loved the back and forth between her describing her mundane life to her escaping in her books. This is spicy, adventurous, and hot. Absolutely deserving of 5 stars.
