2.75 ~ 3 Sparkle Stars
”I don’t want to be that girl, though. You know, the kind who fell for a celebrity simply because he was too hot to resist in real life.”
Madison and Walker’s story was a complete cliché to me. I pretty much rolled my eyes the entire read.

They meet at his concert, Walker brings Madison on stage, the boss threatens her to sign Walker or be fired and the big reveal…LAME.

Overall, this was a fast read with a rock star that I didn't find very dreamy or sexy. Within a few pages it’s sealed with a hea and that's pretty much the whole story besides throwing in a cute bff in the mix.

Last night, I felt like picking a random book and just doing a quick in-between, easy read. Something I didn't have to think too hard about, take notes on, or analyze. Musician books are one of my favorite tropes, so I gave this a shot. Frankly, this was seriously OTT cheese for me, and I found myself rolling my eyes too many times to count. Maybe I would have appreciated this book in my teens, but it appears I am too cynical for something like this now.
The twist towards the end was supposed to be angsty, and that arrow flew way over the target and disappeared.
The heroine was a shrew towards the hero repeatedly and it really irritated me. The first time, simply because he asked for her phone number after he serenaded her on stage at his concert. She was immediately disgusted by his interest to talk to her further, strangely jumping to the conclusion that this was devaluing their "electric moment" on stage. After he hunts her down anyway and blows up her phone, she has zero intention of calling him back. That is, until her boss threatens to fire her unless she dates him and gets him to hire the talent agency they work for. Not only did she agree to treating the hero to a fake date, she was argumentative and rude the entire date, ending it by telling him that she was only there because she was forced. Nice.
After that revelation, he ordered her out of his sight, (rightly so) but then bizarrely runs after her to apologize (What??) What in the world did he have to apologize for? Being deceived and treated shoddily? The hero was completely infatuated and pursuing her for the entire book, which never made sense to me at all. He was already in the insta-love, obsessed zone right from the minute they connected and it was pure silliness.
Maybe this will work for others, but for me, I'm just surprised that I was able to finish.

Short sweet read.
I would have loved for it to be a bit longer. That's just a personal preference of mine. I always say this after reading a novella type book. I feel we never get the whole depth of their characters in a short book.
Over all it was pretty good and I'll continue the series, but I wish they were full books that didn't feel rushed.

Another story from my angst pile and a kindle freebie so that should've added up to a double win but it doesn't quite get there.
One of the main problems was that it was just too short at only 211 pages. It felt more like a novella to me. And I think if it had just another hundred pages, it would have been a much better story.
Walker is a big time singer and Madison's roommate, Keri, brings her to one of his concerts and they just connect. He even has her come on stage and when she leaves, he asks for her to leave her phone number but of course, she doesn't. So, he tracks her down.
She wants nothing to do with him because of his playboy image and she only goes out to dinner with him because her boss told her to. Well, that throws him off and he tells her to leave.
Luckily, he comes to her senses and they're able to work things out.
Then we come to the twist and...it was a bit implausible even if it was a really sweet and romantic plot. Again, it could have been better if more time was spent building this up and expanding on it.
And then it's over. I liked how things worked out even if Walker was a bit too Alpha and the take care of her own business woman, Madison, didn't mind giving in one bit.
Next up is Paige's book, Breaking Stars, and it sure sounds angsty!

This is the type of story that I refer to as a quick & lazy fun-to-read filler. There's not much depth to either the characters or story. Here we get the second chance at love trope but it's not really even that because these two meet when they were 14 and 15 on a beach in Malibu and, if you believe the storyline, they fell madly in love. Summer ends and they part ways promising to stay in touch. Because you need a little angst and misery to keep moving forward so throw in the fact that things happen and it's ten years later before they meet up again. Now he's a major league rock star and she's working for a talent agency.
The whole book seemed to be one insta-love magic show. It's cute, the character are among the beautiful people, and readers get a happily ever after.
This is a new series but each book ends with a complete storyline.

2.5... This book was just too unbelievable. The writing was
good, but I CAN'T believe this is the same author that wrote
about Jack Carter. The story was too short and I had no connection
to any of the characters.

I love romance! I read the whole spectrum of the genre from YA to erotica. I love dark, angsty, dramatic reads that take me out of my comfort zone. But there are times when the old ticker just needs to feel the love with some low level drama and lots of sweet. That's exactly what this book was for me and it was absolutely perfect. It was such an easy read I almost finished it in one setting. It was so yummy sweet I thought I should schedule a dentist appoint just to check for cavities. And I loved every delicious minute of it! When you're reading a book with a goofy grin on your face from 12:30-2:30AM something has got to be right. Walker and Madison's story just flows off the pages and to not fall head over heals for Walker Rhodes the instant you meet him is an absolute sin! The swoon just oozes from him with every gesture and every word spoken. Seriously, smitten within minutes! And Madison is such a lovable female character (not something we can say about many heroines) that your heart just melts when her and Walker find there way to one another. So if you are looking for that perfect book to piece your heart back together and ease your anxiety level and make reading a book relaxing again then search no more! Grab this little slice of heaven and enjoy!

3 ☆☆☆ Seeing Stars for this one.
I loved The Perfect Game Series, so when J Sterling said she was writing a book about a rock star I jumped up and down.
This is an adorable story. Simple. No drama. Just the kind of story you read at the beach with a nice piña colada.
I like Madison. I Love Walker.
What I didn't like was that the story was short and some things could have been managed and explained much better with a long story.

OMG, mad love this book after reading it finish
within a few hours without stopping.
the famous Walker meets... Sparkles aka Madison!
I love how Walker singles Madison out and showed interest in her specifically during his concert like gosh!
Just like Madison,i didn't expect there's a story behind Walker's
reason of asking her out specifically. When the truth unfolds,
i was like
WITMFF? HAHAHA, it was cute really.
But i did felt Madison's pain when
I like Madison's best friend and roommate, Keri. She's funny!
& i hate Jayson, that pigheaded asshole should just get fired
from his agency.
I am so glad Madison wasn't the sort of girl who get push
around , who will listen to such ridiculous instructions!
Love out beats career, hell yeah babe!
And also...
I wished the story could be longer though!!!
When i finished the last page of the book, i couldn't
believe it ended that quick.

So for one of the challenges I have for this year is to read books based on rockers/music genre. Now as I had to find books that I liked and wouldn't scare me off the genre with some of the books I looked into I was put off a bit and maybe I wasn't going into it with an open mind. But this book was the right one to dip my toes into the genre.
Madison lives in LA and has always wanted to work in the Entertainment Industry. She lives with her BF Keri and they're off to a Walker Rhodes concert where the magic begins. Madison gets called on stage by Walker and sparks fly. This book was down to earth and such a sweet read that I had it finished in no time.
I don't want to give away the story as it is lovely and Walker Rhodes is a keeper. I also liked that Ms. Sterling didn't paint the Industry as if it is perfect that there are characters that don't act with morals and integrity and that Madison had an ethical side to her and even gave up her job by doing the right thing.

The timing is perfect when I read this book. It's a quick and sweet read. I enjoyed it a lot 💖 Though I wanted the story to be expanded more, I still adore Madison and Walker's love story.
It all started with Madison being called on stage during Walker's concert. They shared a good chemistry but Walker's reputation makes Madison hesitant to reach out to him. She doesn't want to be of those line of girls Walker dated or whatsoever. Clearly she painted the wrong picture about him because of his persistence.
If you are looking for a swift read to get out of the reading slump, I recommend this.

I enjoyed every second of this fast-paced, feel-good book!!!
Ahhhh!!! What a wonderful book! This is the kind of novel that gives you just a pinch of fairy-tale romance, a dab of sexiness, a twist of angst and a whole lot of heart-warming moments to leave you reveling in a feel-good high. It was a quick read I devoured in a single sitting, reading through it with a smile plastered on my face. And it all starts with one sexy rocker seducing the crowd with warm hazel eyes and beautiful lyrics that hit you square in your chest.
When Madison Myers gets coaxed into attending a concert with her best friend and roommate she didn't put up too much of a fight. She loved Walker Rhodes and seats in row three were difficult to resist. Little did she know however, that she would catch his much sought-after gaze from atop the stage. She was used to being around celebrities and as a talent agent, she knew how to keep her cool, but something about Walker's focused gaze unsettled her ... pierced right through her. A sweet story, very smooth sailing, not very believable......
Madison is an assistant to a talent agent, after the infamouse singer Walker Rhodes pulls her on stage with him and requests her phone number Madison is insulted and ignores his pleas, after her chavenistic boss hears how smitten Rhodes is with her he blackmails Madison to go on a date with Rhodes and sign him.
all this is great up until here.....

Not only is Rhodes a celebrity but is also Madison's first love, who she doesnt seem to remember as shes not good with faces...... Um ok then.... 2 star

Fast read. Fast paced. Overall a great book.
Although the love story between Madison and Walker was a bit cliché, who can resist the story behind first loves? I wish the story was a little longer, but like I said; fast paced and a fast read. I even wanted a little more so my heartstrings would get tugged on a bit more as well. But all in all, I enjoyed this book; I can't wait for Paige's story in the next book.

Well what can I say other than swoon. Oh yes J.Sterling has done it again. Walker was so sweet from the moment he came in to the book, and it is a real sweet story. This is only a short story, but it is still full of all the swoon worthy things that are in all her books. You must read it, and you will fall for Walker just like you did Jack:)

The first in a duology called Celebrity. Seeing Stars is a short little romance about Madison, an assistant at an L.A. talent agency, and Walker Rhodes, a rockstar.
This story was short, sexy, and sweet. I enjoyed the chemistry between the characters. I just wish it was longer because there isn't much to say without spoiling the whole plot. I hope to read the next one soon.

This book was horrible, I'm giving up on this writer. the characters are flat, the dialog cheesy, instant love with stupid plot. My eyes hurt from eye rolling. The one star is for the cover.

Madison Myers never thought much of Walker Rhodes, she knew his reputation with women and although she enjoyed his music she wanted nothing to do with him. However when he pulls her on stage during a concert he decides he wants more then that. He is relentless in his pursuit and Madison find out there is a lot more to Walker then she ever imagined.
This was fun, I liked the concert moment it was very visual. Walker I felt bad for because he is nothing like the tabloids report and Madison was pretty determined he was all bad. Fast read and if you like Hollywood romance novels this is one to pick up.

Sweet and romantic. Definitely different from The Game Series, which I loved. I felt like Walker was too good to be true. I liked Madison's character development. Towards the end I was proud of her.

Well, the hero was no Jack fucking Carter. It was just ok.
I found myself yawning at times while reading this. It's almost too boring.
I'm not sure if I wanna continue this series.

This is a super short story, more like a novella. It's sweet albeit a little unrealistic and predictable. Since it's so short, the storyline doesn't allow for much character depth or dimension. It's more like a cheesy Disney fairy tale like romance.
