Highly recommend for English speakers wanting to learn Japanese.
I enjoyed the book. As an avid anime watcher, I want to learn Japanese. It never occurred to me that I would have to learn their writing system, unlike with other foreign languages. However, I liked the fact that I could recognize and understand some of the words the characters were saying while I was watching anime. The short stories at the end of the book are very helpful. It will take some time to memorize the writing systems though.
