It wasn’t easy escaping from the ivory-tower prison I’d been locked in my entire life. And an escape plan that includes a one-way ticket to an alien planet might not have been one of my smartest ideas. But coming to Tavikh has been the best thing to ever happen to me.
If I don’t count the vicious aliens who keep trying to kill me, along with the rest of the humans, that is.
After one of my friends turns out to be the fated mate of the leader of a friendly alien tribe, we move to their village for protection. I’m happy for her, but if I wasn’t going to allow my parents to force me to marry someone, I’m certainly not going to let some goddess either.
Especially if it’s to the jerk brother of the tribe leader.
Zydon
I disagree with my brother’s decision to allow the humans to live in our village. It only invites more trouble. Not only from our enemies, but now all the unmated warriors have become distracted. Just because my brother met his keeshla among the human females doesn’t mean anyone else will.
All my hope and prayers to Deeka are devoted to finding our missing younger brother. I have none to spare for finding a mate. Even if one of the females fascinates me.
We are constantly clashing. I call her stubborn. She calls me arrogant. Until an accidental touch triggers my mating marks and ignites my soul light. When I discover she has been hurt in the past, I must prove to her that I am a male worthy of being her mate.
Erin Hale resides in the South where the summer humidity sucks the breath right out of you. She’s mom to the best dog on the planet. In her free time, she enjoys reading about swoon-worthy aliens (and secretly wishes one would land on Earth) and monsters alike. She also loves traveling the globe and can be seen most often in any of the pubs in the UK—where the weather is much more acceptable—with a raspberry gin and lemonade in hand.

Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Readability: 📖📖📖📖 Feels: 🦋🦋🦋 Emotional Depth: 💔💔💔 Sexual Tension: ⚡⚡⚡⚡ Romance: 💞💞💞💞 Sensuality: 💋💋💋 Sex Scene Length: 🍑🍑🍑 Steam Scale (Number of Sex Scenes): 🔥🔥 Humor: A bit Perspective: First person from both hero and heroine More character focused or plot focused? character How did the speed of the story feel? Should I read in order? Ideally I think yes? This one really has a decent amount of focus on the main couple which is really nice, but I think you’ll get a bit better idea of the world building with reading in order. If you happened to grab the Supra Velum anthology, a prequel novella is also in there with Fated to the Lost Warrior – the hero is mentioned here but definitely not needed to read – If you didn’t grab Supra Velum I believe Fated to the Lost Warrior is available through her newsletter now.
Basic plot: Remi has escaped her Earth problems by taking a one way ticket to planet Tavikh – here she can focus on honing her warrior skills no matter what the arrogant Zydon makes her feel.
Give this a try if you want: - science fiction romance - alien setting (primitive) - alien hero/human heroine - never been kissed hero - fated mates - survival themes - bit of frenemies to lovers feel – they don’t get along the best and the heroine has a bit of animosity towards him - slow burn feel - low to mid steam – there’s 2 full scenes
Ages: - Didn’t see them mentioned?
First line: Dust kicks up from the ground of the training arena as Johah and I spar.
My thoughts: I am really enjoying the Tavikh series. I like the world, I love the characters and really love some of the alien aspects coming into play like the mating marks and slow progression of world building with the human and alien tribes.
Remi has a hard shell to protect her and she likes to keep most everyone at a distance. I loved her strength and her slow fall for Zydon.
Zydon is really sweet – he comes off has a bit heavy handed and bossy, but it’s his protective instincts kicking in whether Remi wants them or not…
I did want a bit more character background for Zydon. I wanted to feel like I knew him a bit better as a person (person? Alien?). And I do find myself wanting more world building here. I know the books don’t have super long page counts so there’s only so much room for building, but I wanted to see a bit more of how the tribes are coming together.
I really appreciated the slower burn feel for this couple. I love that build up before they give in as it makes it more powerful to me. I also really loved the ending of this one! I was wondering when that first novella of Hale’s I read would come into play.
As for that epilogue...I thought Benham was going to end up with a different Earthling but I am excited for their story now!
(Previously I had noted something that was niggling at me about the heroine from book 1 wanting to be a teacher and not seeing it yet here - I just read the short story add on for book 1 (like an extended epilogue) that is 9 months or so later and we get a glimpse into that! 😍 You can get it with a newsletter sign up)

Full break down on what my ratings above mean here: Overall: How I felt about it everything considered! Readability: How ‘readable’ was the book? Did I fly through it? Did I have to tell myself to pick it back up repeatedly? Were any passages confusing? (I will probably score like (1) is literally unreadable due to formatting/typing errors, etc (2) There were lots of errors that made it difficult to read OR It was extremely confusing and I had to reread passages to make sense of it OR I disliked it so much I had to bribe myself to keep reading (3) I didn’t really want to keep reading and would have preferred to abandon the read and start something else OR some minor continuity issues/confusion (4) I liked it fine, maybe a minor error or 2. I was happy to pick it up when I had time. (5) I never wanted to put this down. I thought about it when I wasn’t reading it. I hid in the bathroom from my kids to read. I threw inappropriate food at my children for dinner so I could read instead.) Feels: Totally subjective to each person but did the book give me any tingles? Any butterflies? Did it rip my heart out (in a good way?) Emotional depth: How well do I feel I know the characters at the end? How much did I feel their emotions throughout the story? Sexual tension: Again, subjective, but how strong was the wanting and longing to me between the characters? A book might have strong sexual tension without a single touch. Romance: Was there romance? Did romantic things happen? This can be actions/words/thoughts of the characters and again is subjective. Sensuality: This is how the intimate scenes are written. Kisses and sexual scenes – how sensual were they? Were they on the mechanical side? Was there emotional pull tied in? Were the details explicit or flowery? These are subjective but generally (1) too short to get a good judgement (2) not all what I'm looking for - very vague or flowery prose (3) either not explicit enough or not enough emotional pull (too mechanical/physically descriptive without the emotions) (4) what I love in a scene (5) absolute perfection - perfect balance of emotional longing and explicit descriptions Sex Scene Length: How long the bedroom scenes are (generally (1) is 1-3 sentences (2) is a few paragraphs to a page-ish (3) is about average, a few pages (4) more well developed scenes, quite a few pages with descriptions (4) the majority of the book takes place in the bedroom. This is always hard to tell for me on audio! Steam Scale: Generally, each flame is a scene. If scenes are super close together I sometimes combine them. If a scene is super short or so vague I don’t know what’s happening, I don’t count it. There’s some levels of grey but generally the number of flames is how many sex scenes there are (I max out at 5 so I’ll put a + after if there’s more than that)
The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: 💙💜💚❤️ Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥 Chemistry: 🧪🧪🧪🧪🧪 Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔 World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏 Character development: 🤓😋😀🤪😍 Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙 Narration Type: Dual Narration
The heroine:Remi - she was from a wealthy family on Earth which she saw as a prison, and she escaped to a starship headed for the planet Tavikh. After the human settlement was attacked and her friend London mated with Zander, the leader of the Tavik, she and the other women that arrived with her moved to the Tavikhi village. Remi was the only human who decided to train with the Tavikhi to become a warrior. She knew she would never be as good as them but wanted to be able to defend herself and help in the protection of the village.
The Hero:Zydon - he is brother to Zander, the leader of their community. His other brother, Zaydum recently went missing and only his bloody sword was found, but Zydon believes he is still alive somewhere. Zydon wasn’t a fan of the humans in the community nearby and never wanted to help them out. He thinks they are lazy, not interested in learning to help themselves. After the Krijese attacked the human settlement, Zander told the humans that moving to the Tavikhi community would be safer for them and any who wanted to move were welcome. Many did come with them and Zydon didn’t like it.
The Story: Unlike many of the humans, that were willing to accept the help of the Tavikhi and moved to the village but still treat the Tavikhi as less than them, Remi actually likes the aliens and gets along well with the warriors she trains with. She is attracted to Zydon but keeps her interest on the down low. Little does she know that he is often looking for her and watching her when she is not paying attention. Though Zydon doesn’t feel that he will ever have a mate. He is solely focused on finding his missing brother.
One thing I really liked about this story was the fact that after Zydon’s mating marks appeared, Remi was at first wary, because of her past and the fact that her and Zydon had only ever argued. But it didn’t take her long at all to come over to the side of liking the fact that he was her mate. Too often in these books either one or the other of the main characters, or sometimes both fight their mating for far too long that it gets old and boring. it highlights one of the most refreshing elements of this story: mutual growth without dragging out the angst. It respects the readers’ emotional investment by letting the characters wrestle with their pasts without sabotaging their present connection.
Remi’s arc is particularly compelling—her rejection of privilege, her hunger for self-sufficiency, and her desire to belong on her own terms resonate deeply. Pairing that with Zydon, who is initially closed-off and judgmental, sets the stage for a dynamic bond built on earned respect rather than forced proximity. The warrior training thread adds a sense of legitimacy to her integration—she doesn’t just get special treatment because she’s the “heroine,” she works for it. I also liked the social friction—humans migrating to Tavikhi space but still holding biases, and Remi quietly subverting that from within. It creates tension beyond just the romance and adds depth to their world.
This audiobook was narrated from multiple perspectives, done in dual narration by Penelope Ann Rose and Chris Chambers. Penelope Rose has a fantastic voice, which is very soft and feminine, I really enjoyed her tone, and she was easy to listen to. Chris Chambers was not one of my favorites, but he did have a decent voice and read at a steady pace.
"Before you arrived on our planet, my life was plain. Dull. I had been prepared to live without a mate until I passed onto the lands of Deeka. I almost believed she had forsaken me. But then I met you. It was as though I could see every color again. Life had meaning again. I had a purpose. It was to love you, Remi."
Ok Zydon! How are you so swoony?? I really enjoyed reading this. The MCs had some animosity toward each other so I knew it wouldn't be as much of an insta-love story as book one, and I'm really happy how it turned out. I would have liked to see a bit more courting between them though.
I really appreciated how Remi didn't immediately drop everything and fall into Zydon's arms when his mating marks showed up. She questioned the mate bond - basically saying "we've fought so many times...mating marks showing up just doesn't erase all that." THANK YOU!! And he actually listened to her concerns and respected her boundaries. He made the effort to understand why she had reservations to the bond and tried his best to make her comfortable and earn her trust.
While I initially liked Remi, and that she was fierce and strong and protective of her friends, that changed as the book went on. I felt like her reasoning for doing things was stupid. I understand that she had to live under her parents' watchful eye and she was forbidden from doing anything, etc, but for that to be the only reason; her driving force for her new personality? Yeah it was weak. She should've been doing it for herself, that she wanted to live her life her way not, not being a constant defiance against her parents. It also makes it seem likes she's only friends with London, Maeve and Sage because her parents would disapprove and that makes her relationship with them feel fake or cheap because it's just on her list of things that would piss off her parents instead of being genuine.
I also started to dislike London a little bit in this book. When Remi and Zydon come back from scouting and she notices the mating marks on Zydon she's like "I knew it!", which whatever, that's fine but what bothered me is that when they were talking alone she brushed aside valuable information about what they found when scouting in favor of girly gossip. I get she's happy for her friend, but as the Shefira (female leader of the tribe since her mate is leader) you would think she would want to know, to be more concerned instead of just wanting to girl out. I was hoping she would start growing up and into the role, or at least try so it's disappointing that her first thoughts were more about her friend getting a mate than, I don't know, the whole danger looming over them?
Also, unlike the first book, this one became a bit more repetitive. I really hate when people sound like broken records. It also reminds me more and more of Ursa Dax and her alien series about the sand sea warriors. I get it could be inspired by it but it was getting to be a little too similar.
I will also reiterate that I do like that the book wasn't sex centered and while it was there, the story was the main focus.
I was a bit disappointed that you don't really know what happened to Zedam when he comes back because the story immediately shifts to Maeve's POV to set up her book, and while I am interested in her story, I really wish the author had taken the last chapter to be about his return. Hopefully it will be mentioned in the next book since (I can't remember his name, sorry) the weaponsmith guy was also close with the three brothers and it's his story so hopefully there will be something that happens there.
I found that the whole arc regarding the King of the other tribe also got settled in this book (as he was swiftly taken care of off page) to be short and disappointing. I mean 2 books in and the enemy is dead? So that leaves, what? The humans to be the next enemy if the author even goes down that route? It just felt a bit rushed if you ask me.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
These books are just delightful. There's enough conflict in the background to make the world building solid but not distract from the characters. The author did a great job setting us up in the last book for the characters in this book. (And she has done an equally great job setting us up for the next book).
There's a comparison of class difference that I always appreciate in these alien romances. The MFC comes from the upper tier of human society. The difference in tiers is well explained when the author uses a very simple example about access to food. When several of the human women are talking about Earth, one of them mentions peaches,
“There’s even this one fruit called a bizele that tastes kind of like this peach I had one time.”
I groan. “God, I miss peaches.”
“What do they taste like?” Sage asks.
The bottom tier mostly eats protein bars, so much so, that they appear to have never tasted fresh fruit.
My favorite moment captures one of the reasons readers love alien abduction (adjacent) romances. When two of the female characters are talking,
“What if I wake up tomorrow and find out this has all been a dream?” I whisper.
She laughs quietly. “Then this is some psychedelic dream you’re having. I mean, smoking hot lavender aliens with bulging muscles and naughty, wicked tails living on a primitive planet? No one can dream that kind of shit up.”
With interesting dicks too. The spicy scenes in this book were better developed than the last book - kudos to the author - they were much steamier. And it was the very first time I had imagined two characters having sex at the top of a tree. (Don't worry, no one fell out of the tree while engaging in the activity).
Lastly, I appreciate the author's use of verbal consent. I really didn't realize how sexy spoken consent is until I started reading romances. (Now I'm usually disappointed when an author doesn't use it). From the simple question, “May I touch you?”, to requiring a spoken affirmative answer,
“I want to hear you say the words, keeshla. So that there are no misunderstandings between us.”
Really well written. I'm going to read the story of the third brother next, and then off to the grumpy MMC - grumpy almost always covers up a super sensitive dude underneath - and the fragile MFC who will need a sensitive MMC to remind her that she has actually been super strong all along.
This was my first read by Erin, I haven't read the first book in this Warriors of Tavikh series, and I think that maybe put me at a disadvantage as I was missing out on all the background to the humans being there! But still, it was easy enough to read as a standalone, but would recommend reading them in order to get the full story!
Zydon is a hunter/tracker in his village, his brother is the elder/leader with a fated human mate (first book). There are several other humans in the village that have escaped Earth for one reason or another, Remi is one of them.
Zydon's species are running out of female and so there are next to no kits (children), until Zydon's brother met his fated mate, a human, Zydon never believed he would ever find himself a mate and had resigned himself to living alone. Zydon's species know when they have found their fated mate by touching them, it triggers the mating marks to appear all other the body of the male in response to finding his fated female. This is was appears to have happened with Zydon's brother.
Remi left Earth to escape from her parents and the 'tier' system in place there, she was in the higher tier and was expected to marry for political reasons, always being told what to do and where to go by her parents, she left to have a life for herself. In Zydon's village she is studying and practicing to be a warrior, learning how to use their sticks in battle, and is picking everything up quickly.
Zydon has found himself staring at Remi in the week she has been in the village, drawn to her. Remi gets injured in a training session which Zydon sees and he rushes to her ordering her to go see the medic to get her leg fixed, of course there's nothing Remi hates more than being ordered around, even if she is enthralled by Zydon.
Of course one they touch they find out they are fated mates, but Remi is having none of it, refusing initially to go from disliking one another to being fated mates, no thank you!
It's a bit of a slow burn, I would have liked to have seen more background story in here and fleshing out a little, still it was a good read, Zygon's species have a tail which they put to good use on their mates! More books to come revolving around the rest of the humans in the village, the next one looks like a good match, looking forward to reading that one!
Okay now the magically c*ck has HAIRS? You guys, I can't emphasize enough how this was not even a discussion on the first book.
"The head flared and shaped like an upsidedown umbrella." Okay.... Okay do I not understand umbrellas? Like wouldn't an upside down umbrella be like a cup? All I could picture was a cock with a cup on top with the open side out... But even if she means not, you know, an open unbrella, does she mean the tip is widest at the top?
And now there's nodes that open with fluid which was only one sentence in book one but here we learn they open and there are hairs inside course enough she can feel them inside her while this mating fluid that's not cum and just makes you more horny comes out.
Also in book one the MMC calls her nipples what they are but here he doesn't seem to know what nipples are. So biologically are we ever going to discuss how this species gives birth and feeds their young? Biological compatibility?
He says he is a virgin. So does this confirm that there's no sex apart from mating couples.
She says she has only had sex once and no one has ever touched her breasts. She is not the second with virtually no sexual history in their late twenties. Did earth become significantly more sexually taboo? And if so, why were they showing porn on the spaceship?
If the enemies of this tribe were so easy to defeat (like they seem to beat them every time quickly and with minimal losses) why has this war been happening for so long? What did the other tribe want from them? If the humans are useless to the other tribe why were they reluctant to stop attacking them, what did they gain from this?
Still no news on why earth is sending people to this planet.
The characters are fun! I can't emphasize this enough, the books are super short and the main characters are enjoyable so it's easy to continue for this reason but the story concept is really hard to get into.
Gleeful Goblin Review: Something I loved about this book is that both MC's are the most stubborn of dorks who think that they can buck Fate and escape being mated. Reading through early chapter was very much vibes of "Nuh uh, boys/girls are gross! I'll never like them!" and only slightly more grown up. Which tickles me pink tbh: “I don’t want a mate. Especially him.” I do not want a mate either, but that Remi thinks a mating between us would be a prison stings like the bite of the mushkanja. Perhaps that is why I cannot get her words out of my mind. “You are distracted today,” Jodah points out. “Is all well?” “Yes.” I tighten my grip on my spear and scan the field of nearly waist-high bari for any sign of our enemies or prey. “Does it have anything to do with your female?” I dart a glance at him. “She is not my female.” Nor does she want to be. He makes a noise as though he doesn’t believe me. “I don’t want a mate.”
The friction between these two getting to know, accept, and love each other is a wonderful journey. And being able to expand this world building in each book as we get to know more is a huge part of why I love reading sci-fi. The author does a phenomenal job of giving us a vibrant, full world to explore and interesting, compelling people to explore that world with. 5/5 Stars.

“Fated to the Alien Hunter” is the second book in Erin Hale’s Warriors of Tavikh sci-fi romance series. I personally thought it was a really great, quick read. I loved the tropes and both Zydon and Remi were likable characters.
This is technically the second book in a series of interconnected standalones, but I think readers will enjoy it more if they read this series in order. However, you can definitely start with this one and not be lost if you don’t want to or can’t read book one for whatever reason!
Zydon was a super grumpy alien who didn’t want humans living in their village, but since he didn’t want to fight with his brother, the leader of the tribe, he’d been keeping his thoughts to himself. Yet at the same time, he’s fascinated by Remi, a confident human woman who’s determined to become a warrior.
Even though one of Remi’s friends is the fated mate of an alien warrior, she has no plans to find her own fated mate. Not being able to make her own decisions is one of the reasons Remi came to Tavikh in the first place, and she’s not quite ready to give up her newfound control.
I thought they had amazing chemistry, and even though they both spent part of the book fighting their connection, I was hoping they’d figure things out by the end of the book. No spoilers, but I was satisfied with the ending, and I’m looking forward to reading more of this series!
I enjoyed Remi and Zydon’s sweet, alien-human, fated mates romance with a side of light danger. This story had a good balance of humor, heartwarming love, real life issues, and spice. Zydon is the brother of the Shefir of his tribe on the planet Tavikh. He has not yet found his fated mate but has some hope now that his brother found his. He believes his third brother is still alive and longs to find him but otherwise he is content in his life. Remi is a human who was an elite class member back on Earth and chose to travel to Tavikh because she hated that life. She met and befriended three women on the way to the planet. The human women now live in the Tavikh village. Remi is training to be a warrior and while on patrol together, Zydon’s mating marks are triggered. To get to their HEA there will be baggage unpacking, trust giving, truth telling, and life course correction. This well written included engaging dialogue, characters with dimension, good world building, and an interesting storyline as shown through sweet moments, spicy scenes, alien physiology and cultures, loyal friends, painful pasts, fated mates, coincidences, danger, and laughs. I will be continuing this series. 3.75 stars.
Zydon, the male alien lead, grew up with the understanding that he was unlikely to find a mate and have children because his people’s fertility had fallen and he was one of many males searching for a rare female. Though his twin brother, the chief of their tribe, has found a human mate, he’s sure that they’re too weak for him to have one.
Remi, the female human lead, escaped from Earth and her rich parents and an arranged marriage, and she’s determined to make life on this new planet work. She’s also determined to be a warrior so she’ll never be left vulnerable again. Whilst Zydon is intrigued by Remi, he’s not interested in engaging.
But the third species on the planet is making potentially threatening moves and Zydon and Remi are sent to investigate…
This story is dual POV, well written, and an engaging sci fi romance. I enjoyed Remi’s perseverance and resilience and her focus on her future. I enjoyed Zydon’s strength and his focus on his goals. I empathised with both their histories and understood the choices they made. I enjoyed their relationship development. I enjoyed the integrated secondary characters and non-romance plot. Whilst the romance plot was fully resolved, there are overarching plot cliffhangers carrying forward to the next story.
I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.
When the battle is over and the good guys seem to have won, my savior tells me I’m his fated mate. I hate to break it to him, but I don’t believe in fate.
ARC review Thank you @literallyyourspr for the ARC!
We all know I love me some alien romance. Add in fated mates and I’m sold, no need to tell me more! This one was no exception for that. It’s a short and sweet read. The FMC was stubborn and resilient to the massive life changes and dangers around her. The friends she found on her new planet will make great follow up books as this is the first in a series. Read if you enjoy: Fated mates Sci-fi romance Sassy FMC Cinnamon roll MMC Quick reads My only complaint is that parts of the story were glossed over, some descriptions and events could have been a little more fleshed out but it really was still good as it is.
A fun, fast paced continuation of the series that pulls you into the world and story and has fated mates between a swoony alien warrior and a strong determined female human!
Zydon is such a broody hero that is just as stubborn as the strong heroine, Remi. I like how he watches her from afar but won’t let himself consider it at first because he doesn’t believe the goodness chose anyone for him. Reni was just as stubborn with the topic of mates, but I love that because it wasn’t so insta-love which it can be with dates mates. I loved how Remi held her own and was determined to learn to be a warrior.
Although I would have loved to really dive into so much more world building because that’s one of my favorite things, I was happy we got to meet more of the characters and learn some more about the world!
Remi escaped earth to get away from her parents and the man they want her to marry. She's on Tavikh and she is with the other women she came with. One is mated to the leader. They were rescued from the fierce tribe that wanted women . She is making herself over into a warrior. But it's a hard uphill struggle. Made especially so because of Zydon, the brother of the leader. He keeps looking at her and ok she has to peek at him also. But she wants to be taken seriously and he doesn't seem to do that. Then they discover that she is Zydon's keeshla. Oh no no no! How could this happen? She doesn't want a mate! Now what is she suppose to do? Fantastic story of a woman who wants to be strong and is succeeding.

Fated to the Alien Hunter stirs up the Sci-Fi Romance again on planet Tavikh in this second book and featuring Zydon brother of Zander from the first book. His quarry is Human Remi a woman who is a constant thorn in his side. With no desire to find a mate a single touch with Remi puts everything into a different light, the light that sparks in his soul from that accidental touch. I enjoyed this nicely written entry in the series which furthers the storyline along with it’s excellent characters and world building. With plenty of action-adventure,intrigue, personal vulnerability, spice and emotion this story was an exhilarating couldn’t put down read. Can’t wait for Benham and Maeve’s story!.

Oh my gosh, I stepped back into this world and it welcomed me like an old friend. The second in the series, I couldn’t wait for Zaydon and Remi’s story after finishing the first in the series. I was hoping the surprise at the end would happen, but honestly didn’t expect it this soon in the series. I loved the sparks that flew between the two main characters, and how everyone around them knew they were more lovers sparks than enemies sparks 😏 I absolutely adored this book and I can’t wait to continue the series.
❤️ Tropes ❤️ 💋 alien romance 💋 enemies to lovers 💋 strong FMC 💋 more tail action 😘
Remi ran from the gilded prison her parents had her locked in on earth, and is determined to make up for what she has missed. She wants to be friends with who she wants, do what she wants, and train to be a warrior on her new planet. She doesn’t want a mate and is trying very hard not to notice the alien that keeps trying to pretend he isn’t staring at her. Every time they talk they argue, so she will just avoid him. Until she is sent on a scouting mission with him.
Thank you to Literally Yours PR for the copy, all thoughts are my own.
Goodreads - can yall start implementing .5 star ratings please? Lol
Remi and Zydon’s story happened super fast. One minute Remi wants to reinvent herself from her previous life and doesn’t want a mate…. To finding out she is mated to the chiefs brother.
Also, the missing brother of the MMC who they thought was dead… just randomly shows up in the last chapter. No explanation or anything. I still enjoy the book and series but just feel like it ended so suddenly without any explanation.
I will still be finishing the series, especially the next book with Maeve (the human who is terrified of everyone and everything) is now mated to the most terrifying MMC in the tribe.
Book one was a 3 star for me because the relationship felt a little rushed and the characters were underdeveloped BUT I expected that because it’s book one in a series of short interconnected standalones and it had to give us all the world building and background.
This one was better because all those pages dedicated to introducing the world were able to be spent on this couples story instead. Remi and Zydon felt a little more fleshed out and dynamic, the tension build was slower, and I was able to feel more invested in their relationship.
I plan to read all 9 available books in the series.
They’re fun, indulgent, quick reads that only require low brain power, just overall a very good time.
Remi is one strong, stubborn, intelligent woman. She refuses to be pushed around and be a damsel in distress. She likes training as a warrior and a hunter. Her upbringing on earth has darken her outlook on others until Zydon's mating marks flare and he earns her trust and love. Zydon believed he would never have a mate so he never wanted one until Remi made his mating marks flare up. He will have to earn her trust and learn not to be overbearing with his overprotective tendency. There's plenty of action and adventure, romance and steam, and a happily-ever-after.

This was a great follow-up to book one and I loved seeing feisty Remi finally give way to broody Zydon ;) These two did not start off on the right foot but when his mating marks light up for her, he becomes such a swoony male ;D These two are fated mates but she does not just give in, he needs to prove he won't hurt her. Their beliefs are different and that cultural difference played a part in here, too. Expect to get caught up in the action, drama, self doubt and strong chemistry as these two work towards their HEA. It is a slower burn romance but I loved the time getting to know these two. Good fun!
This book delivers an enthralling tale of love amidst danger, as Remi finds herself thrust into an alien world fraught with peril. While her budding romance with Zydon sparks with intensity, their constant clashes add depth to their relationship, though at times hindering its progression. Zydon's internal conflict between duty and desire is palpable, and his transformation is both poignant and heartfelt. Despite some predictability in the plot, the novel offers a compelling blend of romance and action, making it a worthy read for fans of the genre. While not a standout favorite, "Fated to the Alien Hunter" provides an entertaining escape into a world where love defies all odds.

I still think the romance happens too fast. The main characters went from a short lived sorta enemies to lovers in less than a day.
I know the books are short, but that felt pretty rushed. Nonetheless, I didn’t mind Zydon or Remi. Well, Remi was a bit annoying with the “I don’t like being told what to do” thing. Like come on, no one was really ever telling her what to do or giving her orders. And she thinks she is a warrior after a week and maybe a day of training!!??? No sister. You need to learn that taking care of injuries doesn’t make you weak.
I am interested in reading Benham’s story.

Remi is a former rich girl but she hates the restrictive and controlling life she had. So when she gets to the new world, she learns to become a self sufficient warrior. Zydon is a grumpy male who doesn’t want a mate, and I love that kind of trope. There has to be one person who doesn’t cause when it happens, they’re like oh shit.
For such a short book, there’s a good balance of relationship building, world building, political engagement, and smut. But my only gripe is that Zydon is kind of an asshole then he sorta loses his personality. However it’s a cute story and probably my fav so far.
This is my first book from this author and I see a lot of potential. The characters are great and I love the dynamic of the couple. I loved how tough the FMC was and how she grew and learned. I loved the MMC even though he was a grouch at the beginning, he was so sweet at the end. My only complaint is it's kinda short which doesn't bother me too bad but I would love to have seen more action. I can't wait to see how the next couple fares in the next book and hope we see more of this couple in the future.

I really enjoy a good sci-fi romance, and this one definitely fit the bill. You’ve got fated mates, broody, grumpy MMC, and a feisty FMC who feels like she needs to prove herself to everyone. Zydon and Remi start off on the wrong foot. Remi allows her insecurities and past to really cloud her view and judgment of the serious alien warrior. But Zydon is determined to get Remi to fall in love with him. This was a quick, fast paced, easy read. We get romance, steam and a little bit of action. Definitely recommend this one if you’re a fan of sci-fi!
What a fun sci fi, fated mates romance series! I keep wanting to call it a good pallet cleanser but I feel like that term discredits it? Maybe it's better to refer to them as lower angst, quick reads? I found them to be easier world building wise and just fun all around. These types of books are my happy place books - I don't have to work at understanding anything and I can just sit back and have a good time. Overall, I would recommend this series to veteran sci fi romance readers anddd newbies!
Read this book recently & loved it. Not what I was expecting when I saw it was about fated mates, it was a pleasant twist on what I normally see & read. Remi is for sure a tough cookie so it made seeing her let her walls down with Zydon that much sweeter. Zydon was not what I expected in the fated mate department, to watch how quickly he changed what was comfortable for himself to suit Remi was very endearing. It was a quick read, mild spice but very enjoyable. I am definitely a fan of this series & can't wait to read more from this author.
