Risking It All For Their Happiness -
Even though Jenna wasn’t sure her feelings for her dad’s best friend would be reciprocated, she decided to risk rejection to make her dreams come true. Josh on the other hand had been keeping his feelings for Jenna hidden, as he didn’t want to destroy his relationship with her dad. However, they just couldn’t keep away from each other and embarked on a secret relationship, which they were luckily able to get the blessings of her overprotective brothers.

Unfortunately, convincing Jenna’s parents was much more difficult, but they were able to get their blessings after a while, which gave Jenna and Josh the peace needed to have the life they wanted. I really enjoyed reading this story, with characters and a storyline that certainly kept my interest from the beginning, all the way until the end. This wasn’t your run of the mill older man, younger woman story, as it had so much more to it. I highly recommend this book.

As with all of Kaci’s books I fell in love immediately! I absolutely love her writing style and am always excited for any new release.
Everything about this book was really good, the plot, characters, and how it flowed were perfect. I loved the age gap, taboo feel of it! Josh and Jenna were great together, and they had some really nice spicy moments!
One thing I always love about Kaci is how she ties in characters from previous series.

This age gap romance is one that is flirty, filled with heat and passion and is overflowing with emotion. As Josh and Jenna struggle with the feelings that they have for each other, there is push and pull, confusion and a family divide as declarations of love are made. These two have chemistry radiating off the pages and Josh will have you swooning with his devotion to Jenna. A sweet cowboy romance that has these two riding off into the sunset.

Risking one life-long relationship for the chance at forever…

Ever since Jenna returned to home to Walker Lake after graduation, she’s had her eye on her father’s best friend Josh. What she doesn’t realise, is that the feeling is mutual. Josh knows he shouldn’t be attracted to his best friend’s daughter and someone fifteen years younger than him, but he can’t seem to get her out of his head. His feelings are dangerous and will no doubt destroy his friendship with Evan, so he’s not willing to risk it. But after spending the entire Fourth of July celebrations together while the rest of Jenna’s family is out of town, he’s surprised to find that Jenna feels the same way about him, making it even harder to resist giving into temptation. When Jenna starts spending more and more time at his ranch working with one of his horses, he can’t help but feel like she belongs there with him. As they embark on a secret relationship, both are aware that this could all blow up in their faces and destroy life-long relationships. But sometimes, love trumps everything, even your own family.

THIS book is the reason I even picked up this series in the first place, and Kaci 100% lived up to my expectations with Josh and Jenna! While I’m a sucker for the age-gap trope, I’ve never actually read anything in the ‘parent’s best friend/best friend’s child’ trope - the closest I’ve gotten is ‘best friend’s parent/child’s best friend’ - but I do love me a bit of forbidden love. Kaci handled the forbidden-ness of the relationship and the questions it raised with those around Josh and Jenna really well, while also reinforcing that love knows no age gap.

Kaci’s writing style really flowed in this one, and it was hard not to get sucked into Josh and Jenna’s lives as they gave into their feelings for one another. They had so much chemistry that was equal parts sweet, swoony and spicy, and despite everything that was against them, they remained committed to one another. And it was refreshing not to have the obvious third-act break-up. There was also a really interesting contrast between how Jenna’s parents reacted to the relationship and how Jenna’s brothers reacted, which added a lot of depth to every relationship between the characters.

As much as I enjoyed how quickly Josh and Jenna embarked on their relationship, I do kind of wish we had gotten more time at the beginning to of the book to better establish the dynamic of Jenna’s family, especially the relationship that Josh had with everyone as a long-time family friend before he became involved with Jenna.

Again, this book is part of a larger universe of books, so there are a lot of characters we get to see that have previously had their own books. Kaci very lightly touches on those stories, which would have been a nice refresher for anyone who had previously read the books, while also being a bit of a teaser for someone like me who hasn’t yet read the earlier books. I’m definitely keen to dive into the two previous series while we wait for Asher’s book! Asher was a nice character and set up really well in this book, so it’ll be fun to follow him in his book in the future, while also continuing to see Josh and Jenna’s relationship unfold.

If you’re ready to get down and dirty on a Texas ranch, book your ticket to Walker Lake and find a cowboy to call your own!

Josh and Evan have been best friends, and Josh has never married. After Jenna comes back from being away for college, it's like they see each other for the first time and have mutual crushes on each other. However they are 15 years apart in age and both think a relationship is somewhat wrong and betraying the parents. They both try to fight it but eventually make a conscious decision to try and move forward but of course never look back. At first Evan is outraged and disgusted by the pairing, and Jenna vows to stand by Josh.

I liked how they both struggled with wanting to be together and not wanting to disappoint their family and best friend. As an older guy, Josh was always really respectful and mindful of Jenna, not wanting to get in the way of her relationship with her parents. Jenna was an inspiration - firm on what she wanted (Josh) but also very level-headed and still respectful of her parents as far as she could. I also liked how they decided they would stand together and support each other regardless of what her parents thought. We know that Josh and Jenna were meant to be together but it was also very evident in the writing as they had plenty of chemistry.

I have read many of the Rock Springs series so I was quite happy to see many of the characters reappear in this book. Overall this book was mostly slow burn because it takes them a while to come together, and didn't have a lot of ups and downs, but sometimes not being overly dramatic can make a pleasant read.

This was an age gap small town cowboy romance.

I loved this sweetly romantic book. The story had all the feels and a good bit of steam. The characters were realistic and relatable. Would recommend!

Jenna is twenty-three years old. She is writing her first book while also working at the local diner and lives with her parents. She has three older protective brothers.

Josh is thirty-eight and owns a ranch near Jenna's family. After Jenna came home from college he started noticing her as a grown woman. He has been fighting his attraction for her for several years because he doesn't want to lose his best friend.

After spending the day together at the town's 4th of July festival Jenna confronts Josh about their mutual attraction. He gives in and kisses her under the fireworks. He invited her to spend the weekend at his place to explore having a relationship. They both decide they are all in and she spends more and more time with him. Her brothers show up at his ranch demanding answers and he gets their approval. He then goes to her parents house to tell her father and gets punched. Jenna moves into his home. After watching how Josh treats her at the rodeo her father accepts their relationship. They get their HEA.

This is a sweet age-gap romance with some angst. As a good friend of their father, Josh has watched Jenna and her brothers grow up over the years. He couldn’t help but notice them all become young adults, but seeing Jenna after she finished college sparked something deep within him. Of course he never plans to act on his feelings, not only because of their age difference, but also because of his friendship with her father. That was before Jenna let him know that she has feelings for him too. The age gap doesn’t matter to her at all, and she knows he is struggling with his feelings because of his friendship with her dad. They agree to give themselves some time to see if what they are feeling will deepen and last before they tell anyone else they are seeing each other. Jenna and Josh discover that they do indeed have a connection and a love that they want to last a lifetime. They want to build a future together, but they need to reveal their relationship to her family first. Can their relationship survive in the face of shock, disapproval and anger of those they love and trust?

The characters and storyline of this book are very engaging and realistic, making it a pleasure to read.

This book is sweet with a little conflict. It's a western romance with a 15 year age gap. Josh has watched Jenna grow up because he is best friends with her dad. Josh didn't have romantic feelings for Jenna until she was of appropriate age though. Josh didn't act on his feelings either. In fact, he went to great lengths to stay away from Jenna. Now, Jenna is 21, and Josh is 36. Jenna knows what she wants and that's Josh. Jenna just has to convince Josh. Josh knows if he ever acts on his feelings for Jenna he will lose Jenna's parents as friends, maybe forever. Jenna does have brothers and friends who are very supportive. Honestly, Josh was a really sweet and attentive cowboy. In return, Jenna is happy and willing to stand up for Josh. This quote by Josh stuck with me for some reason. "Looking around the table, I realize this woman has brought me a family. I always felt just outside of her family, but here, having dinner at our house feels different." I also thought it was cute that Jenna was an inspiring writer in a small town full of gossip. This book had a little spice without being too explicit. The epilogue leads into the next story, which is about one of Jenna's brothers, Asher.

“The Cowboy and His Best Friend’s Daughter” is a sweet, loving and emotional age gap romance that was a sweet story about love and support.

Jenna is 21 years old and is an aspiring writer who is working on her first book. And there is a certain cowboy who has caught her eye, Josh. Josh is 15 years older than her and also happens to be her Dad’s best friend. Ever since she came home from college, Josh has looked at her differently. But to him, she’s forbidden. Jenna feels the connection they have and isn’t going to give up so easily.

I enjoyed this age gap romance. The gap wasn’t too much and I could see it realistically happening to someone I know.. The connection they had was there from the start and I could feel it as I read. Jenna is smart, independent and knows what she wants. I loved how she was an inspiring writer and wasn’t afraid to go after Josh. Josh is one swoony cowboy and I fell for him right along with Jenna. He’s kind, caring and protective. He always put her needs above his and made sure she was cared for and happy. Their relationship developed naturally and never felt forced or rushed. I loved Jenna’s brothers so much and I cannot wait to read their stories.

This was a cute ‘best friend’s daughter’ romance with characters from, new to me, Walker Lake, TX.
Josh, the MMC and Jenna, the FMC, were friends with, and visited with, Sage & Colt and Sarah & Mac plus many others from the author’s previous Rock Springs, TX series.
Josh had been friends with Jenna’s dad since she was a child and lately he’d been having trouble staying away. For her part, when she graduated college, Jenna broke up with her boyfriend because she knew he couldn’t measure up to Josh who she had been crushing on for years and hoped she’d finally have a chance with him now that she was grown up.
Although he had feelings for her, it was one step forward, two steps back for a while with Josh, what with the potential for fallout with Jenna’s dad but Jenna fought for her man and refused to let him push her away.
If you like a good cowboy, dad’s best friend, age gap romance, I recommend you give this one a try. It’s sweet, steamy and showcases a group of friends and neighbors always ready to lend a hand or an ear in support of each other.

This was a very sweet and hot cowboy romance.

Jenna was Josh's best friend's daughter. She has been in love with him since she was 16 years old. The romance between them at that time was impossible, and she never knew if he felt the same. After all, the age gap between them was a lot. Little does she know, he feels the same. He stopped seeing her as his best friend's little girl when she became older. At first, he avoided her for 2 years, but when he bought a ranch near her parents' ranch, everything changed.

The romance between them was really sweet. After the initial wondering about if love between them will ever be possible, they finally got together. Even better...they both knew what they wanted and that their love was forever. I literally loved this about them ♥️. The love scenes between them were hot, steamy and very romantic.

Of course, there was some minimal trouble with her family accepting them as a couple, but when they saw how much they loved each other, they supported them all the way.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading Jenna and Josh's book.

Jenna was the daughter of Josh's best friend. She's all grown up now and now she wants him. Josh wants her to but can't do that to her father. Jenna decides to do something about it. She does things that drive him crazy. One day he is at her house and can't take it and tells her to cover up her bathing suit and met him at his house.
Finally Jenna is getting the man of her dreams. Once at his house, he makes the move she's been wanting. They decide to keep their relationship quiet for a while till he can tell his best friend he loves his daughter.
Josh and Jenna came clean to her brothers and it was time to tell for him to tell her dad as he didn't want to keep their relationship quiet anymore.
Her father wasn't happy about it but later came around when he noticed how happy they were together.
There might be an age difference but it showed that age is just a number. They are happy together and wouldn't want it any other way.

Josh struggles with the development in his feelings for Jenna, his best friend's daughter. He fears what could happen if he lets himself explore these feelings. Not wanting to lose his best friend, Evan, but also not wanting to let Jenna go. However, they can't seem to stay away from each other despite the resistance.

They decide to keep their relationship a secret for the time being. When they do share news of their relationship, not everyone approves. Their love for each other is evident. They are willing to fight for each other, even when Jenna's parents reaction is worse than anticipated.

I really enjoyed this book and the friend/family dynamic that comes with Kaci's books. I also loved seeing character appearances from the Rock Springs Texas series!

This was a wholesome small town romance. It was equally sweet and spicy.
Josh was best friends with Evans. As Evans daughter Jenna grew older, his view of her started to change. But because it's his best friends daughter he kept his distance and his thoughts locked away.
Jenna has always had feelings for Josh but knowing he is her father's best friend she just lived him from afar.
After coming back from college and Close Proximity their interactions were unavoidable. Then their feelings started to develop more and the shock to know they both felt the same.
Only problems is her dad, family and the gossiping small town people.
I loved how they were so mature, respectful and a rock for each other.
The way they stand by the other is so adorable.
The spice is always good in Kaci's books.
Read and find out how they find their HEA.

The Cowboy and His Best Friend's Daughter is steamy, age-gap, girl gets her Dad's best friend romance. Jenna is a 23 year old writer and waitress. Josh is a hunky 38 year old rancher and cowboy and her dad's best friend. Josh and Jenna have been dancing around their feelings for each other ever since she came home from college. Jenna decides she is going to make her feelings known. Josh feels the same attraction but is concerned about her dad and their age gap. He finally agrees he's all in with her. What will her family say? Their chemistry was so hot. I loved how Jenna's brothers were so supportive and glad we got a great HEA after daddy drama. I love anything Kaci writes, and this did not disappoint.

Jenna is 23 and has had a crush on her father’s best friend Josh since she was 16. Josh is 38 and has been attracted to Jenna since she grew up into a beautiful woman.

For the last year or so, Josh has been coming to the house for dinner once a week. The 4th of July festival is coming up and Josh is the only one who will ride the rides with Jenna. They have a great day and end up going to watch the fireworks on a private dock on the lake. They kiss but Josh stops things before they can get too heated. Josh is afraid of losing his friendship with Evan, Jenna’s father. Jenna is afraid that Josh will break her heart if he has to choose between her and his friendship.

The story was a great balance between acting on their desires and not wanting to hurt anyone else. I liked Jenna and Josh.

For an best friend's daughter "taboo" type of story, I expected a lot more angst in this book. Not that I'm complaining, it was just a refreshing change of pace, lol.
Josh and Jenna were a great couple and I really liked their chemistry. While he had his moments of back and forth, do I or don't I move forward with this relationship, it really just showed how much he didn't want to hurt anyone. The age gap wasn't as big as I thought it was going to be, thankfully, lol, so everytime it mentioned Josh being best friends with her dad, it startled me. They really had so much in common and just gelled so well that I often forgot the 15 year age gap.
With moderate heat, great characters and a really good storyline, Kaci Rose did a great job with this sexy cowboy and his young lady love.

So, this might be a bit of a taboo.. but I believe that age is just a number. If you find someone you can’t live without, and you love them, why should it matter the age. I am a newer Kaci Rose fan, and when I read someone who can write such great characters, I will continue to read what that author writes.

I don’t read many new authors, because I have so many that I read ALL of their work, I don’t have much free time to read others. I am so glad that I did find this author, because she is so good with characters and stories. When you can be invested in what you’re reading from the very beginning, it makes for great reading. Kaci Rose made me want to read more.. so I’ll read more.

I’m so happy to be able to read this and review. Please go read it.. I know you’ll like it.

Josh has known Jenna for years, he's friends with her father, Evan, and a similar age. He's not taken much notice of Jenna as she's fifteen years younger than him, then she comes back from college and is a young lady, and he sees her. Jenna has had a crush on Josh since she was sixteen, but didn't do anything about it because she didn't think he'd be interested and anyway, she was too young, but now she's not!
Josh tries to keep out of Jenna's way, staying away from the house and the diner where she works, but she's determined!
What will her parents, especially her father say? Can she and Josh overcome the remarks? Does Josh feel for her what she feels for him?

Before returning home from college Jenna ended her relationship with her boyfriend. Since being home from college the feelings she has for her father’s best friend Josh have escalated and the age difference or how her parents feel might slow her down, but they aren’t going to deter her.

Ever since Jenna returned home from college Josh has begun to see her as a woman and not his best friend’s daughter. He tries to keep his distance out of loyalty to his friend but that is proving to be difficult as she shows him how empty his life was without her.

This is a heartwarming story about fighting for you and what you want as Jenna and Josh are determined to show that theirs is the love of a lifetime.

Jenna is Josh's best friend's daughter. Despite watching her grow up, he now is at odds coming to notice the young woman before him..a young, desirable woman, 15 years younger, for whom he shouldn't be having strong feelings. Jenna is a determined, strong character; when she sets her sight and mind on Josh, she is not willing to let him go easily.
Father, daughter and best friend triangle
Older man, younger woman. Genuine love.
Angry parents, poor and angry reaction, ignoring her no longer being a child.
Supportive brothers.
HEA in the end. Plus a bonus episode offered at the end.
Looking forward to reading about Asher.

A wonderful age-gap, somewhat forbidden romance that sees two people have an attraction that cannot be stopped. The Cowboy and His Best Friend's Daughter is a book that will have you swooning over Josh and the way that no matter what he cannot fight the feelings he has for Jenna, his best friend's daughter. Even with the fifteen-year age gap, the two of them seem to be made for one another. Jenna is wise beyond her age, which is why the two of them have such a connection. Jenna was a strong-minded woman who went after what she wanted and she wanted Josh. Their HEA was met with drama and hurtful words but at the same time, they had support and true love.
Ms. Rose did a terrific job with this charming age-gap romance.

There are age-gap romances, and then there are truly delectable ones. "The Cowboy and His Best Friend's Daughter: An Age Gap, Cowboy Romance" by Kaci M Rose falls into the latter category, offering a deliciously captivating storyline. Despite a significant 15-year age difference, I found myself drawn into the story, mainly due to Jenna's portrayal as an old soul. However, bridging the generation gap proves to be no easy task for Jenna and Josh, especially when her parents are hesitant to embrace their budding relationship. Returning from college, neither Jenna nor Josh anticipated falling in love, but as the saying goes, the heart wants what it wants. In this alluring tale from this talented author, the question remains: will their love be enough?

And Jenna's brother's I just loved them and how supportive they were. But when push comes to shove and their relationship is exposed can they fight to stay together? I LOVE how realistic the reactions of the parents are in this story; yes, as readers invested in the romance and the sweetness of this new relationship, we want everyone to be on board and as happy as our couple are, but realistically, this could be a problematic relationship, and her parents are justified in being upset, and again, I LOVE how Kaci M Rose brought that into the story, and made it a topic of discussion and focus. Yes, it's a romance, and yes, things are all okay here, but it's wonderful when stories feel authentic and believable, and this is one of my favorites for those reasons.

Jenna is back home from college all grown up. She’s attempting to write a book and works at a diner. Josh is Jenna’s dad’s best friend. Josh is taken aback by how much Jenna has grown up. Jenna is immediately attracted to Josh. There is a 15 years age gap and the little matter of Jenna’s dad. They have a few barriers in their way if they truly want this relationship to work. Upon learning of their relationship, Jenna’s dad, Evan, is furious but Jenna stands strong.
This book was a great read. I loved the characters along with all of their interactions with each other.

I love age gap, older men/younger women and forbidden romances and this book checked them all. It also has a couple of interesting horses, some awesome friends and loving brothers. Our hero always thought of her as his friend's little girl until something happened when she came home from college. He saw her as totally different person totally separate from the little girl he always knew. She has wanted him for years but didn't know he felt the same until one 4th of July changed everything. Nothing will ever be the same especially family relationships.

Since Jenna returned from college Josh has tried to stay clear of his best friend's daughter. He is fighting his love for her with all his got. Jenna is done beating around the bush and confronts him with her feelings. Even though Josh is trying to not to give in he surrenders. Their road to together is rocky to start, but the passion between them is so hot my e-reader almost melted. The author makes the characters jump out of the book and turn to life. She also connects the story to previous books in a really good way. I really recommend this book and the author.
