Enchanted
Enchanted is a story about a woman named Daphne who is dealing with moving to a large city after living on a small farm all her life. She gets a job, gets engaged, and then gets into a horrific accident. Her fiancé, who is a spoiled brat and cannot deal with the large scar on her face, leaves her. However, David, her handsome wedding planner, becomes her friend and confidant. He does everything he can to convince her that she is deserving of love and has been in love with her since the day they met. True love doesn’t let a scar get in the way of happily ever after.

Enchanted by Mary Oldham is a romance that places emotional truth at the center of its narrative rather than relying solely on familiar genre conventions.
What stands out most is the handling of transformation—not just romantic, but deeply personal. Daphne’s journey after trauma is written with a sense of restraint that allows the emotional weight of her experience to come through without exaggeration. The story takes its time to explore questions of identity, self-worth, and what it means to feel seen again after loss.
The romantic arc works because it is grounded in that internal journey. The connection between characters develops in a way that feels supportive rather than performative, allowing the relationship to function as an extension of healing rather than a shortcut to it.
There is also a clear intentionality in how vulnerability is presented. The narrative does not rush toward resolution but instead allows space for doubt, recovery, and gradual trust. That pacing gives the story a sense of authenticity that resonates beyond the surface-level expectations of romance.

Daphne Potter was planning on getting married to James Worthington however circumstances of our worst imaginings end that rather badly but leave Daphne with literal scars.... and a wedding planner who was smitten the day she came in for their preliminary discussions.
With her scars, Daphne felt like she needed to work behind the scenes. Truedel offers her a job helping Susie run the marketing and support ends of the bridal shoppe while she begins to heal emotionally from all that has happened during her past year. Along with this job, she begins to know and care for David, her wedding planner. And, from cooking together they begin to emotionally heal from their pasts and come together as beautifully as David's Nonna's recipes.
What a beautiful end to the Silver Linings trilogy. Each book can be a stand alone or can be devoured much like the wedding cakes described in the trio, because, as you know, everyone loves wedding cake! Highly Recommended 5/5

Daphne after losing both her parents as well as her dog, selling their family farm and moving to a new city you would think her life would settle down, but life wasn't done with her yet. She meets James on her first day of being in Portland, her now fiancé but one event changes the direction of her life forever. David is enchanted by Daphne the first time he meets her but she is engaged to another and he is her wedding planner. I am so in love with this series and the way Mary Oldham weaves a story around me leaves me wanting to never leave her world. This is the third book but I am so in love with these characters. The growth and changes that Daphne goes through were so amazing I couldn't put the book down.

This is the third book in this incredible series, and this is David and Daphne’s story.
When Daphne suffer a great loss, she sells up and moves to the city, where she gets engaged, but after a horrific accident, her fiancé dumps her. David is a sexy wedding planner, who was attracted to Daphne from the moment they met, and he is determined to prove to that she deserves to be loved.
This is a beautifully written story which has emotions, loss, grief, family, friendships, healing, romance, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and compelling page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Daphne is engaged to a horrible selfish man and when they are victims of a carjacking she is injured and has a scar, James breaks off the engagement cruelly and Daphne heals and rebuilds her life and finds a man who thinks she is gorgeous and doesn't care about the scar and they get their happy ever after. Great Read.

I enjoyed this story it's has all the feelings you would want. The fiance is a toad but all in all every one should read it. The author is an awesome writer so you really can't go wrong with one of her books.

This was a good read as it kept me interested. The issue I had was the plot was rather shallow, and it barely moved forward. Which was sad.

I have really enjoyed all the books I have read by this author, including this one. Some of the love scenes and banter seemed a bit awkward.
