With Viktor dead and the vampire council back in Europe, Celeste’s life is finally her own. After lying low for a while, she’s found the answer to her desires and decides to do a very human teenage action—go to college.
Ravenwood University seems to be the perfect fit. Nestled in a secluded part of Mississippi and away from anyone who will know who she is, she settles in for what she hopes is a year of what she’s been denied her entire life—living.
When her roommate takes her to a bar during her first week there, Celeste is thrown headfirst into a world of werewolves, mystery, and human experiences—or so she thinks. With the help of some old friends, she’s forced to remember what and who she truly is and face the possibility of a future she could never have imagined.
Madalyn Rae is the pen name for someone who can’t show the people in her life that she writes about werewolves, vampires, penises (I still don’t know the correct plural for that word) and heaven forbid—sex.
In her everyday life, she is a teacher of tiny humans and an avid music lover. She is the mother of two adult children and one adult husband. (That wasn’t a typo) She lives in the best climate in America and enjoys the Gulf Coast whenever she’s not too lazy to fight with the tourists for a seat on the sand.
Madalyn’s stories stem from her overactive imagination and dreams. She writes what her characters tell her to write, and she hopes you enjoy reading them as much as she enjoys writing them!
Ravenwood by Madalyn Rae is book four in The Vampires of New Orleans Series. After reading all the other books I was really excited to get my eyes on this one. Also, have you seen the cover of this book? It’s so pretty. I read this book in one sitting, I just could not put my kindle down. I’m such a fan of vampires and vampire stories and this one is just such a fun, fast paced read. It’s technically a spin off but I highly suggest reading the other books as you would be missing out on some really great and compelling storytelling. It’s amazing how much I grew to like the character of Celeste considering I wasn’t the biggest fan of her. This was such an intriguing story that kept me hooked and interested… it really was just an enjoyable read overall. The writing was really well done and the plot was great. The worldbuilding just adds a bit more to every book to keep it feeling fresh. My favorite thing about this book was seeing characters from other books make an appearance, I loved it. I definitely recommend this series if you love a compelling story and am I fan of paranormal and fantasy.
This offshoot book from the Vampires of New Orleans series features Celeste, now in a young woman’s body and attending college. While there, mysterious things begin to happen, and she has to call on her old friends to help her. What follows is a very entertaining, exciting and thrilling adventure.
I have really been relishing this fast paced urban fantasy series. The more I read of this series, the more I want to see how the characters lives turn out. If you’re looking for something fun, easy to read and enjoyable, this series fits the bill. I hope to see more books in this fun series!
I received an advance reader copy from the author, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Wow, what an incredible story! From beginning to end I couldn’t put it down! It was so intriguing and adventurous! Reading about vampires and lycans makes this book amazing!!! Amazing writer!
Ravenwood is the 4th book in the Vampire of New Orleans series by Madalyn Rae. This one is a spinoff of the main series and could be read as a standalone, however, you would be missing out on alot of the backstory of several of the characters and some main plots of the the story in the original series would be spoiled for sure.
In this book, we follow the story of Celeste as she attends college at Ravenwood University after some life altering events happen in The Garden of Discovery and Love. She has been alive for hundreds of years but has never really lived, so although she doesn't need the education, she goes to college to finally experience life. A mysterious lycan, Jasper, and the disappearance of several girls in the area over the last couple of years changes the trajectory of her life.
This is another great story in this series. I always enjoy when an author takes a character like Celeste, who I didn't really like, and turns them into some someone I love. I also enjoyed seeing many familiar faces from the previous books again. If you love a quick and easy to read fantasy, this one is a can't miss series!
I was honoured to be an arc-reviewer of this story, and in exchange, I promised to give an honest review.
Last book in the series. This one is from Celeste's point of view. I enjoyed the story and it feels cohesive. The only thing I am not sure about is how much time has passed between the ending of book 3 and now. I enjoyed the characters and that we got to meet some of the characters we have gotten to know previously. Like the other books, this one is fast-paced and has a couple of twists and turns. The fast pace can sometimes make you feel a little wanting. Want a little more details or information about the scene or the story. However, it doesn't take away from that it is still a nice easy read.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and this spin off where we follow Celeste to college to experience life is such a great read! It a story with mystery, intrigue, danger, drama and werewolves and It’s an exciting and captivating read that draws you in as we go to the Ravenwood academy. An enjoyable read with incredible world building and fun and likeable characters that makes a thrilling and interesting read and a wonderful addition.
The death and the destruction was intense. The explanations on some of the things like the girls, and contract with Penelope. I mean there was a story there but it was glanced over. What happened when she drank the Drakes blood. The mystery of this was excellent and the way the characters are written fantastic like always.
I've read all of the books. I can't say enough about how good they are. I love all of the characters in these books. Once I started I couldn't stop. I recommend these books.
This book series was brilliant, and I am so sad it’s come to an end. Great characters and so many twists and turns, you just didn’t know what was going to happen next. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.
This is book 4 and I've really enjoyed this series. The spice is pretty low but the character development and storylines have had me hooked. I loved seeing Celeste getting to experience life as an adult this time instead of stuck in a 5 year old's body.
Wow!! This story of Celeste all grown up, going to college and experiencing life. It was hard for me to put down. This is my favorite series this year!
The final book of the series and it didn’t disappoint at all. Really enjoyed all of these books and this one was a fresh perspective and personal story to close it out with 🖤
I loved this whole series. I read this book in like two days.. I loved the characters, the story, the location (I’m from New Orleans so I just loved reading about it all) it was just great!!!
