I Will Be Found By You: Reconnecting With the Living God—the Key that Unlocks Everything Important

Rate this book
To seek and find God is everything.
In his forty-three years of seeking after God, Francis Frangipane has learned one simple (yet essential) truth...
It is in seeking God, that we actually find Him.
The deliberate movement of our hearts toward God leads us into far more than a simple answer to our need--it leads us straight to Him. We discover God to be an ally whose wisdom is all encompassing and whose power can transform all things with just one look.
In "I Will Be Found by You" he shares a collection of some of his best writings on the topic, both old and new, to reveal the key to seeking God and possessing a heart after God--the key that unlocks everything important.

I haven't read a book this spiritually penetrating in some time. Frangipane writes of the supreme act of the Christian - seeking God. That is the ultimate fulfillment for the Christian. He writes that this might take hours each day, yes hours. He is concerned that we not settle for a Christianity that is about God. We are to know God. He gives the example of reading about a sunrise, then actually experiencing one. This is a challenging book but yet a remarkable freeing one as well. He encourages us to love God in what ever state we find ourselves. Every Christian could benefit from reading this book. See my full review at http://bit.ly/1jSmxIR.

This was an easy read with short chapters. There was a lot of encouraging, uplifting, and challenging discourse included in the book. However, some of the author’s conclusions were based on biblical phrases from various verses cobbled together to support his stance without further context. Also, he was dogmatic about passages from descriptive text in a historical account (2 Chronicles) and poetry (Song of Solomon).

This is an important book to read - packed full of wisdom. It took me a long, long time because I had to read it in small portions. And it affected me so much I read it twice, only the second time I took notes. Here's a sample from page 118: "God asks for nothing but ourselves. Our beautiful church buildings, our slick professionalism are nearly useless to God. He does not want what we have; He wants who we are." And here's a prayer I'm going to be using from now on (p. 51): "My God, forgive me for squandering so much time, so much of my life,on superficial and meaningless pursuits. You are all. You are my eternity. Set my heart on fire for You; let me burn inwardly for You with a fire only You can satisfy."
Thanks to my friend Nancy for the gift of this book!
