For a handful of special students, things are about to get dangerously weird.
Fourteen-year-old Frankie Delarosa and her older brother, Cruz, are already having enough trouble in their lives. But when a psychotic entity comprised entirely of energy begins hunting them down, it will take the combined efforts of an untested group of wisecracking, hardheaded teenagers from Sevenpointe Academy--a special school for wielders of the seven classical elements--to help them escape with their lives.
Fleeing a town full of mindless zombies, being attacked on all sides by primordial beings, and facing a deadly maze intended to keep them away from the one person who can help them, the Elementalists come to realize the most important truth of all:
For better, for worse, for friends...
The Elementalists: potentially saving the world, or just really good at blowing stuff up...
I grew up in the backseat of a car, traveling across the States and abroad with my healing evangelist parents (www.voiceofthedovecompany.com.) It gave me lots of time, staring out the window, to come up with some fantastic ideas for stories.
I graduated from the University of North Texas with an arts degree in writing and have ghost-written/edited over a dozen nonfiction books.
Along with my beautiful wife, Christy, I authored Eight Weeks with No Water, the testimony of our second son’s miraculous birth.
My first fiction book is The Elementalists, and my high fantasy epic series, Blue Time, is being published through Whitaker House. The first novel in the series, The Master Song, is coming out September 2014.
I live out in the sticks in the cross-timbers area of north Texas with Christy, our two cute boys, Connor and Christian, and two ridiculous dogs, Merlot and Riesling.
This is a most excellent book. It is full of interesting and yet believable characters facing unique and yet (within the confines of the story) believable situations.
Not only is the plot solid and intriguing, but what I really appreciate (and love) about this book is that the author doesn't pull any cheap tricks -- none of the "Oh, wow! Another amazing coincidence has saved the day!" junk that other authors seem to be using more and more. No, no tricks here... the characters find real solutions to their problems, not lucky breaks!
All of which makes for a fresh and deeply-engaging story that does not disappoint.
Andrew Maloney has Aaron fantastic story telling ability. He pulls you into the lives of the characters, allowing you to feel apart of the story, even though you're reading from a third person perspective. The characters are well written and fully developed. He keeps the storyline flowing, and never once leaves you wondering or guessing as to how something occurred. This is a fantastic story and I highly recommend this to anyone who loves fantasy.
This is a great ride! I loved the banter back and forth between the many characters. You will be whisked away onto an amazing adventure so buckle-up and get on board!
