West Coast Coyotes #1

Single Dad Alpha and His True Mate

Rate this book
As pack alpha and leader of the West Coast Coyotes, Esteban had a lot of people who counted on him. After the sudden and suspicious death of his wife, he went into a depression that kept him from being the man, father and alpha he knew he could be. Not because he missed her so much, but because of the guilt he felt for not missing her enough. She was a good woman and mother, but he never loved her. Theirs was a marriage of convenience that produced the true love of his life. His baby girl.

Mateo was one of the few omegas who had climbed the ranks of the West Coast Coyotes. Most of that was the result of his hard work and above-average strength, but the other guys still attributed it to his other position...as Esteban's best friend. They grew up together and Este never treated him like an omega. He respected Mateo and trusted him with his life, which is why Mateo was the only person who could step in and help out with Stella after her mother's death.

Esteban just needed some time to figure things out before getting back into the groove of his daily life again, but when the rumors of a threat became more serious, he quickly realized that Mateo was more than just his friend and nanny. He was...more. Always had been. They just needed to get out of their own ways to accept the fact that they were meant to be mates all along.

Single Dad Alpha and His True Mate is the first in the West Coast Coyotes series. If you like your shifters hot and sexy and sweet and loving, you won't be able to put these down. Every book brings you a relationship worth fighting for and at least one pup at the end to make you smile. Low angst. High heat. And adorable babies. What more could you ask for?

It was an easy read. It was very predictable and the plot was not that solid for me. There many things left unfinished or unanswered or undone.

Good series starter

This is a good series starter and is not an instant love story in the usual way. Esteban has always cared a great deal for his childhood friend, Mateo. But, as he became the pack alpha, their relationship was pushed back a bit due to Este marrying an omega from a neighboring pack. Mateo loves Este and his daughter Stella and does his best to never cross the line and show he loves Este as more than alpha and friend. There is also an underlying plot to kill Esteban. They must keep Stella safe, Este needs to understand his true feelings for Mateo and let go of the grief over the death of his wife all while taking out the bad guys.

Disappointed in this book.

I had thought this was going to be a good book but it failed. Here again, it reminded me of reading a straight story with all of the overthinking. These authors are getting to be a little boring.

Meh. Writing had the feeling of being a bit erratic. The push-pull feel of a not well plotted novel. I liked Mateo and Stella.
