I am so caught up on this series. Another page turner, Justice continues to fight his evil side and his good side. This series will pull you in and keep you wanting more. Will Justice ever find peace. Hope he wins the girl. I’m ready for the next book.
I get always excited when Mary’s new book comes out. Every single one she writes is pushed to the new level and the plots are always unique. The series about Justice are really special to me, as they make me think, question our world, attitudes, morale and social consequences. This time Justice promises himself to go by the book, stay in line and not to take another life. He is under Eliza’s big scrutiny and the case from the assisted living home makes him (and me ) think about the reason why people commit crime. Is it for control, power or money? The death of the elderly people are not easy to read about. I could not stop reading to find out, who the killer is and what Justice will do. The story a dialogs are terrific. I took a deep breath of relief at the end of the book, just before the last chapter. And then!!!! Mary ends it with the Shocking cliff hanger! Just three words: OH MY GOD!!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Nursing home inaccuracies too distracting to enjoy
For the last 20 years of my nursing career, I worked first as a floor nurse, then in administration in NY & NJ nursing homes. Within the first few chapters, I found so many inaccuracies in the description of the nursing care & management ( I would say at least 90% inaccurate) that it made reading this book unenjoyable. I kept correcting all the inaccuracies in my head. When an author writes about a subject in which he/she is unfamiliar, he/she would do well to have an expert in that field as an advisor. I wrote a book years ago (Rx for a Funeral by Anne Mulroony) & was unfamiliar with police procedures in Paterson, NJ. I used 2 Paterson police officers as experts so I would be as accurate as possible. This book obviously used none.
Another great ARC read from Mary Stone. I love this series and you are never sure if you want to root for Justice or not. Everyone at the Sheriff office is on edge over the latest death of a criminal, especially the Sheriff. Justice knows he needs to solve a crime soon and make sure no ones dies. Then a suspicious death occurs at the local nursing home, and Justice starts looking into it. Then another death occurs. Justice and his partner beginning their investigation and find other crimes along the way. As they go thru the list of suspects, Justice promises himself this case will be solved and the criminal brought to justice. Can he solve the crime and bring the criminal to justice or will he kill again?
Justin is still fighting with his demons but trying to the “correct” thing to win back the trust of his boss. He takes on a case of an elderly lady who was a resident at a local senior home and she suddenly dies. Bessie’s daughter, Christina, doesn’t believe it was a natural death. When a second death happens at the same home and under the same circumstances Justin is alerted. He knows what he should do, but does he follow protocol or not?
The Justice Hall series is so original! The unique character of Detective Hall is incredibly ingenious making this a “must read”series! Mary Stone’s ability to create with precision the tortured mind of Justice will keep you on the edge of your seat. As a reader you feel all of his emotions as he remembers his terrifying time with Justin Black and to where he is now as a detective. Love him or hate him…but WOW for the cliffhanger!
Absolutely fantastic!! This was a fast paced page turner. I still can’t fathom my complicated emotions towards Justice Hall. It leaves me shaking my head. If you read this series, you will understand. His horrific past, and his yearning to do what is right to make the world a better place. This book was amazing!!! The ending was a cliffhanger. I will be counting the days until the next book is released. I want to know who is behind those messages!!!
Absolutely loving this series and especially the character of Justice! This one takes you to a "retirement home" where residents are being murdered. Can they find and capture and the murderer before another is killed? Also enjoying the relationship between Heather and Justice which is heating up and evolving too. AND the ending! You have to read it to see but things are changing and who knows where it will end up. Extremely enjoyable novel!
I have enjoyed this series, seeing new ways that Justice has grown into at good man or a bad man. Is he too much a product of Black's teaching or can he become the man he should be. The new questions that come up when reading the new book in the series are endless. Will he be the good man he pretends to be in public and work, or will he revert into Blacks teachings again. Is it wrong he is the judge as well as the Detective and gets rid of the worst criminals... Read the series and find out.
A nursing home resident ends up expired, according to the woman’s daughter, before her time.
A precious jeweled family heirloom of the deceased woman is missing - and another resident, otherwise in excellent health, suffers some sort of crisis and also dies unexpectedly.
And Justice’s complicated and convoluted emotional life becomes even more confusing.
Death is normal in a nursing home, but some of these deaths are suspicious. Justice is sent to a nursing home by a distraught woman whose mother just passed away and her diamond necklace missing. Although he doesn’t find anything on a whim decides to have the remains sent to the county coroner. That information, plus another death, leads Justice to the hunt for a murderer.
We meet Justice again. He is trying hard to deal with his demons and heal his life. Eliza is starting to distrust Justice and asks his best friend to spy on him while investigating deaths in a nursing home. While keeping tabs on Justine black he gets strange messages that upset him but he overcomes some hang ups and tries to move on......to be continued.
After the last case & Justice's taking care of the homeless killer, another case needs investigated in the deaths of nursing home residents. Justice tries to follow the book so his boss doesn't question why all the crimes seem to get solved without any prisoners. Will he be able to succeed without killing the killer? Another page turner that won't disappoint.
Justice has begun to walk a fine line. His boss is beginning to question his actions. Also, Heather is part of his life, or is she? A nursing home angel of death is killing residents. Is it the same person who is profiting from the residents? So many questions to be answered.
I've read every book in this series ( villains story). What a roller coaster ride. Your emotions are all over the place. You want Justice ( little Timmy) to win yet at the same time you know he should be stopped even if he's killing killers . You find you heart rate spike when you know he F*** uo. Book 8 is coming out soon ..." Are you ready ?"
Death is inevitable. Especially in a nursing home. A daughter is distraught over the death of her mom. She requested the help of the police to investigate if its murder? Then Russell suddenly dies and another resident is on deaths door. Justice is serious to find the killer. The boss is doubting Justice is to good to be true
ANOTHER GREAT READ IN THIS SERIES. THE STORYLINE IS ORIGINAL AND GRABS YOU AND WON'T LET GO TILL THE END. PLENTY OF TWISTS AND TURNS TO KEEP YOU TURNING PAGES TILL THE END. WELL WRITTEN WITH GREAT CHARACTERS. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THE OTHERS IN THE SERIES.
This is the first book I read in this series. I really didn't care for this book. I know how Justice be came who he ie by reading detective Black .I really love her books . I don't think I will read anther book in this series.
Another great Justice Hall read. Suspense o'plenty! The question of him getting busted in his own killing games keeps those pages turning! Will not ruin the outcome for those who haven't read it yet, but I can't wait for the next page turner!
I enjoyed this story about Justice trying to find who is killing people at a nursing home and why? He always does things with un orthodox means. Thank you for a great story.
Justice Hall, hero or villian. The more books you read about this character, the harder it is to decide. #7 in the series is a real page turner. Keeps you engaged until the last page! Enjoy!
Another page turner, Justice continues to stand on the line between being a vigilante and a detective. This series will pull you in and keep you wanting more.
series i have read in a very long time, but it is not the end. That's right, two more books are coming soon. Please, please Mary Stone, keep this series going.
Book 7 in the series. Just as good if not better than the first 6. The protagonist doing what many of us would possibly like to do......read and understand.
