In the urban labyrinth of love, A Ghetto Romance unravels a tale where Tenderness, Heartache, Understanding, and Growth redefine the acronym THUG. Livia Darling, a compassionate elementary school teacher, has her path intertwined with Mega—a mysterious man with a captivating but unconventional life that throws them both into a world of moral conflicts.
As their connection deepens, layers of Mega's character emerge, prompting questions of trust. THUG invites readers to witness the transformative power of love, redemption, and the capacity for change. Will love conquer the barriers of circumstance in this gritty urban romance, or will the shadows of the past prove insurmountable?
Jade Jones discovered her passion for creative writing in elementary school. Born in 1989, she began writing short stories and poetry as an outlet. Later on, as a teen, she led a troubled life which later resulted in her becoming a ward of the court. Jade fell in love with the art and used storytelling as a means of venting during her tumultuous times.
Aging out of the system two years later, she was thrust into the dismal world of homelessness. Desperate, and with limited income, Jade began dancing full time at the tender age of eighteen. It wasn't until Fall of 2008 when she finally caught her break after being accepted into Cleveland State University. There, Jade lived on campus and majored in Film and Television. Now, six years later, she flourishes from her childhood dream of becoming a bestselling author. Since then she has written the best-selling "Cameron" series.
Quite suitably, she uses her life's experiences to create captivating characters and story lines. Jade currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia. With no children, she spends her leisure shopping and traveling. She says that seeing new faces, meeting new people, and experiencing diverse cultures fuels her creativity. The stories are generated in her heart, the craft is practiced in her mind, and she expresses her passion through ink.
Don’t get me wrong the book was good and I’m suprised that I’m about to say this because I’m usually the one that love all the details but some parts of this shit is tooooo over detailed like girl just tell me what’s going on it was wordy asf lmao like I had to re read some parts just cause of how it was worded! Then it was almost like she dedicated 2 pages to describe restaurant like girlll ask yo momma for this money and get on with it lmao but all in all I really did like the story
Whew! This book had me on an emotional rollercoaster from page one. Jade Jones doesn’t hold back — she takes you deep into a world of love, betrayal, and hard truths that test every bond imaginable. The storytelling is bold, gritty, and full of unexpected turns that keep you locked in.
What really stood out to me was how real the characters felt. You understand their pain, their choices, and even when they make mistakes, you can’t help but feel for them. Every chapter left me needing to know what would happen next — and now that I’ve finished Part One, I have to grab the sequel because I need answers!
Title: Thug: A Ghetto Love Story Author: Jade Jones Publisher: Jaded Publications Series: The Finale Reviewed By: Arlena Dean Rating: Four Review: 'Thug' by Jade Jones
My Thoughts:
'Thug' is a story that will keep readers turning the pages to see what happens next, with all of the secrets, lies, and deceit in this story.
With characters like Oscar, Linda, Knickles, and Livia, wow is all I have to say. You will need part two to get the rest of this twisted story.
This book was so damn good OMG. So the fact that livia found out that the little boy she loved so much that was in her class is actually her brother is mind blowing like her father really had a kid outside the marriage. Then there’s her mom she trifling she was sleeping with her daughter boyfriend knuckles the whole time . Then there’s Mega who is trying to get his 16year old sister back after she was sold for a deit that there father had overall this book was a 10/10 can’t wait to dig in part 2
This was a good read. The way your family can literally be the death of you. It’s funny how life happens and comes at you out of the blue and fast. MEGA is the best big brother anyone could ask for I just hope he wasn’t too late. Livia was so unfazed and living her life in her own lane. I hope that her family doesn’t hurt her in ways that she can’t come back for. They way that everyone in tangled with each other and no nothing about how or why. That cliffhanger was something else.
Now I wasn’t expecting that cliffhanger at all. I hope Marie makes it because knowing them people they’ll let her bleed out. I can’t wait to read what happens when the two cousins realize they messed with the same person or will KNUCKLES get mad at his cousin and do something crazy.
Olivia is a third grade teacher and has grown fond of one of her student that has been kidnapped. Mecca is young and trying his best to get his sister back that was given away because of her father debts. Knuckle’s is Olivia ex boyfriend unknown to her he is also Mecca’s cousin.
No. NO. N. O. I didn’t enjoy a single thing about this. It was only about an hour read but even that felt like an eternity. Plot holes the size of caters, what too many POVs, and general over the top situations made me roll my eyes so hard
At first, I almost DNF’d it. It was soooooo wordy. She described every single thing in extreme detail, but the more I read it, the more I got into it, until the point I couldn’t put it down. I look forward to reading part 2.
Secrets sure have a way of rising to the top. There are so many here that they know about and some they don't. Let's see if part two is available to wrap this up.
Good read. Was unsure in the beginning, but as soon I start to get into it she drops me off a cliff and leaves me hanging for book 2! Short and quick. I can tell book two is full of drama…
