This unique resource offers the fascinating account of Donald E. Wagner's personal experience with the Middle East and calls Western Christians to work with Middle East Christians in healing the pain of Jews and Palestinians.Wagner grippingly tells of his early involvement with streams of Christianity that treat Israel's possession of the Holy Land as fulfillment of a divine plan that will result in the apocalyptic battle of Armageddon.

This book is from 1994 but I learned so much about the history of Israel/Palestine and the Middle East. Excellent summary of political and cultural events through history, not just the last hundred years, but also about the uniqueness of the churches and Christian history in the Middle East. It was very interesting to see how things looked in the 1990’s just after the handshake at the White House between Yasser Arafat and Yitzhak Rabin, and before so much else. And of course Don Wagner is the best. His writing is engaging and personal -- and well-researched and clearly presented. Really appreciated Abuna Elias Chacour's foreword and endorsement.
