The pros? That’s easy… I’ll get a minimum of three orgasms, and if I only get the minimum, that means Matt’s having an off night.

We are winding our way down to the grand finale which will be released on March 21st. Still enjoying this series. Matt is still wary of the whole relationship thing. Mac is getting a bit fed up of his mixed signals. We are starting to see a softer side to Matt.

Swoon time. When tragedy strikes, the asshole Matt is long gone, but in his place is this new Matt - one that is giving Mac a side that makes her want the "more" even more. But Matt still isn't ready to make this anything more than 'just sex' although we all know it's already so much more.

I have no idea what it is about drunk dialing in a book. I love seeing that vulnerability in the Hero, where the mask slips just a bit and you get a glimpse of something different. By the end of this installment, I had fallen for our litigator. But he has quite a bit to prove and I am sure some mistakes to make along the way.

I don't know. This one was a lot of whining on both of their parts. Mac wants more, but knows she can't change Matt. He has to want to change himself. Cal, his ex-best friend even confirms that with Mac.

But finally Matt admits that he's lonely without her and asks for a date.

Matt can gripe, moan, bitch, and complain until he’s blue in the face that he’s only in this for the sex with me, but he’d be a damn liar. There are feelings there on his part, and I intend to flush them out.

“If you can carry on a rational conversation with me for just thirty seconds while I try to seduce you, I’ll give you my undivided attention for the next two hours . You can talk until you’re blue in the face. Deal?”

Seriously?? She is not kidding anyone, if she thinks she can endure that… which is very UNFAIR

So Incredibly Sexy!....

I've practically been stalking Amazon afraid I'm gonna miss this and I'm determined not to let that happen. And now that I've read it, I'm so ready to do more stalking for the next. ;) This is even better than all three combined together if that were even possible. This is not just all about sex or about giving in to Matt's sexual demands, it's about putting her foot down, asking for more and getting what she wants. So vulnerable after losing her mom and being bullied by Matt after rejecting his ardor, Mac never lost sight of her purpose.

Using his power as the big boss, Matt tried to put the pressure on and tried to cower Mac, but she put up a big fight and gave it as good as she's got. Now Matt is at her doorstep, groveling and asking for a second chance. Giving in to what Mac wants and asking her for a real date and the whole works of dating and really getting to know one another. Ready to put pride aside and the past hurts and face his true feelings for Mac, simply because he says, he can't get her out of his mind. I'm really so ready for the next book and so excited to find what's in store for this two, March 7th just can't come soon enough for me!

First Impression:
Well, I think it's been established that I'm in love with this series, so I couldn't wait to read this one.

The story:
Mac and Matt are at a bit of a cross roads with their relationship. Just when Mac feels like they may be able to move forward, Matt steps away. He still has a lot of baggage that he's hiding from Mac. She wants to understand, but he won't let her in. Things between them become tense in the office and Mac is forced to make some difficult decisions.

The characters:
I still love both of these characters. I felt like Mac really stood up for herself in this installment and I really felt for her and the tough decisions she had to make.

What didn't work for me:
While I love Matt, he did frustrate me a bit in this one. He didn't lose me, but there were moments that I felt he was just too cruel. I understand why, but it had me scrunching my nose a bit.

There were some sexy moments, but not as many. Granted, this installment warranted a more serious tone.

Overall:
I still really...truly...love this serial. In fact, I find myself pining away for the rest of the series. I need to know how things are going to turn out! And the ending of this one leaves me feeling even more anxious! If you're looking for a short read with spice, check this out!

Way to go McKayla !! Stick to your guns girl !!

Matt in Nashville started to show what McKayla thought was his softer, maybe a loving side of Matt....but as usual when she gets back from her mother's funeral, which he left early and didn't attend, he is back to his normal self. How can someone in the matter of a few days go from someone that was so loving, holding her while her mom passes, caring for her to make sure she eats and showers and holders her all night long so she sleeps......who does that but then doesn't show he cares when she gets back....Matt does !!

But McKayla has had enough...she knows somewhere deep down Matt does care but just needs a push. But in usual Matt fashion he brushes her off and discredits her work to make her think she isn't worth anything. She finally cuts him off because her heart can't take it, she wants more and deserves more in life to be happy and if Matt isn't willing to give it to her maybe it is time for her to call One Nigh Only and move on with her life ?

Or will Matt come to his sense's ??

Legal Affairs: Mitigation Part 4

We were left with a heartbreaking cliffhanger in the last installment of the Legal Affairs series. I could not wait for Legal Affairs: Mitigation, Part 4 to be released. It was worth the wait and I know the readers are going to be immensely satisfied with the outcome and direction this series going.

Mac has had to face making decisions that a person never wants to face. She has suffered a loss that will forever stay in her heart. What made facing these decisions bearable was the fact that Matt showed to support Mac in her time of need. He was everything she needed to get through her time of need. He was loving, supportive, and the rock she needed. I was rejoicing that Matt was finally being a stand up guy . That he was putting Mac’s needs above his own. That he was giving her his strength, compassion, and heart. That he valued her more as a person, lover, and colleague. That she wasn’t just a piece of ass to scratch his itch whenever he desired. But as they say, “a zebra doesn’t change his stripes”.

When Mac returns to work, she has high hopes that finally her and Matt’s relationship has taken a turning point. That finally they have a real relationship and are no longer just fuck buddies. She is ready to move forward. But Matt is not. He wants things to remain as they are. He expects Mac to be there whenever he gets the itch. He expects her to fulfill his needs with nothing in return. He is a taker.

Mac finally conjures the strength to end this emotional rollercoaster. She can no longer be a convenience for Matt. She needs more. She deserves more. She will no longer settle for this kind of relationship. Her needs are just as important as Matt’s and it is time for her to put herself first. She ends the relationship with Matt and is trying to move on. By doing this it has made things unbearable at the law firm. It has put her career in jeopardy. At this point she realizes that her own self worth, her heart , are more important than her career at the law firm.

Matt is pissed and acting like a spoiled dickweed. He has made Mac’s career miserable. His attitude has the entire firm walking on eggshells. Thankfully Mac holds her ground and stays true to herself. She’s hurting, heartbroken, and still hopelessly in love with Matt. It would be easy to give in but she knows that nothing is ever going to change. Matt will never give her his heart. He will never give her his love. He won’t even give her his dedication to an exclusive sexual relationship.

In this segment of the series the readers will see Mac grow. She will gain the inner strength to move forward in her life. She will make choices that are good for her. She will no longer be a doormat. We will also see Matt’s true colors. We will begin to see how Matt begins to unravel. He is not the powerhouse we were lead to believe. He is self destructive. He is not the powerful man he presents to the world. We will see him brought to his knees.

I can’t wait for the next installment. Will Matt redeem himself. Will he own up to his fears? Will he be man enough for Mac? The wait is going to kill me!

Sawyer Bennett writes a powerful story that engages the reader whole heartedly. We become invested in her characters and their story. This is a series that will keep us addicted to the very end.

The good thing for the fans of the Legal Affairs series is that the installments come out bi weekly. We only have 2 more installments to go. So far we have been lucky, Sawyer has twitchy fingers, she tends to push the publish button a few days earlier than the expected publish date of each installment. Sawyer…..please make those fingers twitch….make them spastic….I need the rest of the story!

We had planned on taking turns reviewing these and then doing a combined review banter at the end. However, Jen has lost her words and is busy throwing a hissy fit trying to get the rest out of Sawyer Bennett. You tell her, Gin! We want it NOW!

Mitigation just became my new favorite in the series. I’m going to predict that I’ll be giving the same statement for both Reparation and Affirmation once they’re out though! It’s really no surprise to me that Mitigation hit the Amazon’s bestseller list the day after it went live! This series is incredibly addicting and you can’t really help feeling a little needy and greedy! I really do drop whatever I’m doing the second I get one and start reading!

In Mitigation, we get to see a deeper side of Matt. Violation left off with Matt showing up at the hospital where Mac’s mother is in critical condition. Aww… did you melt a little? I know I did! It picks back up right where it left off and we get to see Matt be comforting, sweet, and caring. He helps Mac through, what I imagine to be, one of the most painful things a person can experience. In the words of Mac:

"I think my last thought before I went to bed was that if Matt treated me like this all the time, I’d probably fall head over heels in love with him."

Me too, Mac!! Me too! Matt, being Matt, doesn't continue to treat her like that though. Once they’re back home, he reverts back to his “just sex” policy and keeps her at arm’s length. Matt. Connover. Is. So. Fucking. Frustrating! I went back and forth between wanting to hug him… and wanting to kick him in the balls! Sometimes I wanted to do both at the same time! He’s letting fear of being hurt again dictate how he handles his feelings for Mac.

Mac finally decides that she’s had enough. Matt either needs to man up and give her a real relationship, or she’s done. I’m sure you can imagine how Matt reacts to that. In true Matt Connover fashion… Like. An. Ass! Mac is getting to him, but can he handle it? Can he leave the past behind him and put his heart on the line? Or will he fortify the walls he’s built around himself and continue to push her away? I love Mac and was so happy to see her stay strong and not give in to his seduction attempts. I love you, Matt, but it's time to step up!

Hmm let's see.....looks like Matt is about to do a little 360 in Mitigation book 4 of the Legal Affairs Series by Sawyer Bennett.

At the end of book 3 Violation, Matt comes to the aid of Makayla at the hospital which really surprised me and probably ever one else who read the series so far, I actually didn't think he had it in him. Well he has made progress while in Nashville with Makayla but that is only shortly lived as they return back home and to the office.

Matt now returns back to the non-committal "it's just sex" Jekyll/Hyde character that he was from the begining breaking Makayla down. Finally, Makayla comes to terms that Matt is never going to change and decides that she can no longer continue with this tryst that they have going on. With Matt acting like a jerk she finds the courage to do what she should of from the start...Gives Matt the door.

Does Matt stay behind that door and move along? Well you have to read Mitigation to find out just what that mystic Matt Conover does!

Just so you know I love Sawyer's books but she is killing me with this series.....It's sooo good.
