This book is about unexpected love, following one’s heart and acceptance. It is a reverse age gap story that illustrates some preconceived notions of what’s acceptable by society at large in regards to love. Adam tells himself that his attraction to the much older beautiful woman staying at Blackwater Retreat could never go further even though he has never felt such a pull toward anyone before. Though his grandfather has told him it is time to find himself a wife and settle down, the resort is his priority right now.

Rebecca also felt attracted to Adam and the same strong pull. She knows it can’t go anywhere since she is much older than him, and she is not really looking for a relationship. Now divorced, she is enjoying making her own decisions and her freedom. Still the sparks when the inadvertently touch, the heated glances and the occasional conversations are hard to ignore and dismiss. Rebecca is surprised by how much she is enjoying being on the ranch, that it feels like she has found a piece of her that had been missing. Adam admires the way Rebecca seems to fit in with her surroundings and how she enjoys all of the activities, even if they are far removed from her life in the city. An overnight camping trip, a tent collapse and suddenly Adam and Rebecca are sharing a cramped tent. Despite her doubts, passion flares and everything changes between them. Both decide that they want to see where their feelings and connection leads. But her stay is only temporary and she has a full life in the city. When doubts about their age difference also pop up, can their relationship survive?

I liked two characters, their differences and their similarities and especially their connection. Their story is not the usual age gap romance, which makes it even more captivating and intriguing. This book is insightful, entertaining and a very satisfying read.

Adam Barton oversees The Blackwater Retreat in Texas. Grandpa George approves of what Adam has accomplished. However, Grandpa George wants Adam to find love.

Rebecca McLane works as a manager at Guardian Assurance Services in Chicago. She has focused on work ever since her divorce. She decides it is time for a vacation. She books the Deluxe Package for a month at The Blackwater Retreat at Thanksgiving time.

There is a mutual attraction between Adam and Rebecca. However, Rebecca is worried about the big age gap. I loved seeing an older woman being featured.

I am thoroughly enjoying all the stories about the Barton grandchildren and how they all want to exceed in business and also please their Grandpa George.

An amazing read as Rebecca made a connection with Adam by only a touch of a hand at his brother's wedding, but she did not think anything of it, because she was so much older than him, and she had no idea what his name was. The next morning, she discovered, he was heir to the Blackwater Estate, and running the resort she was attending for the next three weeks. There was an undeniable attraction, which Rebecca wanted to exnore do to her advanced age, but Adam tried to reassure her age was just a number. Who would win the number war when Rebecca was almost twice Adam's age?.

Rebecca works in corporate Chicago, she decides she needs a break as she hasn't had a holiday for years. Adam is the heir to Blackwater Ranch, the place where Rebecca goes for her holiday. They have an electricity between them, but she's much older than him, we never know how old he is, and feels that she would be making him her carer in later life. Can love win through?

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!
Finally a different take on the age gap trope! So refreshing. This was my favourite Blackwater book yet!
Adam was such a sweethear, who wore his heart on his sleeve and was willing to take risks. Rebecca was more world weary and I can't say I blame her. She had a rough go for a while. I wouldn't go out on a limb if I was her either!

Heartwarming story.

A heartwarming story as Rebecca takes a break from the concrete jungle to unwind at Blackwater Ranch and meets Adam Barton. Their relationship develops, but not without challenges. The Blackwater Ranch series with the Barton Brothers is an enjoyable one worth reading.

I read this book as part of an advance reader team and am providing my honest opinion.

This story could have been about a cougar seeking a younger man BUT IT ISN'T! The characters are well-developed and even if I had reservations about this book, the author won my heart. Decades Between Us gave me all the feels from the angst of the age difference to the HEA ending. Elizabeth Grey, you rocked my world with Decades Between Us!

Decades Between Is by Elizabeth Grey is book 8 in the Blackwater Ranch Billionaire Cowboy Romance series. This time Grandpa George Barton doesn’t threaten his grandson Adam with withholding his inheritance, but he does suggest it is time for Adam to find a wife. Adam manages the Blackwater Retreat, an upscale resort that offers their guests a taste of authentic Texas ranch life. Rebecca is dedicated to her job and hasn’t taken a vacation in years. But after a crappy day and hearing her coworkers talking about their vacation she decides she needs one too. An online research leads her to the Blackwater Retreat and it sounds like the perfect vacation from big city Chicago. The first time Adam and Rebecca see each other they are both drawn to the other and when Adam accidentally brushes her hand they both feel the sparks. The next day she can’t believe the stranger she was drawn to is the manager of the Resort and much too young for her. Will their age gap be too much for them or will love conquer all? To me, Ms. Grey did a fantastic job writing a very believable story considering their circumstances. There was everything a romance book needs, love, questions, some drama, great side characters and of course a happily ever after.
