⭐️⭐️ / 5 stars * Review by Myself and My 10 Year Old Daughter
Same sentiment as any other book we've read by this author … but somehow more confusing.
This was actually the first book we read by this author, and we finished it just staring at each other like, “So… why is he mad?” No real reason. Just vibes. Just an angry cat, I guess.
Things that stood out ( Again, not in a good way):
- We never really figured out why Max was mad. It just… was.
- The images again felt like stock photos, and my daughter immediately assumed AI.
- The cat didn’t look consistent from page to page.
Final Thoughts:
Honestly, the biggest takeaway for us was that this book gave us hope. Real hope. Like… anyone can write a book. 😭
Not offensive, not memorable for the right reasons, but definitely an experience.
Confusing, hysterically funny, and unintentionally inspirational.

perfect for kidos
The illustrations were stop on, I think kids will find the humor in this cat’s antics once they discover it’s a real cat.

Very easy to engage children
Some of the children in our preschool class love this book and have continued to use Max in other chatter and even a game. Easy to read and kiddos love the pictudes.
