Hollywood and Verona get their shot at romance in this brother's best friend romance. He thinks he's dispensable, but she can't imagine the world without him. What happens when their worlds collide?
Verona
After I came home from college, I promised myself two things: no more boyfriends and no more unvetted clients. Now that it’s Valentine’s Day, I should be regretting that first one, but I’m excited to spend the holiday alone. Men are nothing but drama, and after everything that’s happened to me, I don’t need more of that in my life.
When the motorcycle club holds a charity auction to help my brother with his medical bills, I’m surprised to see fear and anxiety on my brother’s best friend’s face. Hollywood is the club Lothario, the proverbial town bicycle that goes through hang-arounds quicker than anyone can keep up. A couple of pushy girls won’t leave him alone, and for some reason, I make it my mission to keep him safe.
I tell everyone I hate him, and maybe most of the time I mean it. But I soon find out that Hollywood and I complement each other more than I initially thought, and the idea doesn’t scare me as much as it should.
Hollywood
After almost dying last July, I realized my life was heading nowhere fast. Tired of random hookups and meaningless nights I could barely remember, I made a vow of chastity and promised to stop sleeping around. Hear that sound? That’s a million hang-around hearts breaking all at once, but I need to do this for me. I’m tired of people treating me like a piece of meat, and I want more out of my life than heartless encounters.
But when my best friend’s little sister outbids everyone at the charity auction, I can’t believe my rotten luck. I’ve been avoiding her since I found out what she does in her spare time because I can’t get the deliciously filthy images out of my head. It haunts me in the best possible way, but because of who she is, I can never put those twisted fantasies into action.
Except things take a turn after a drunk game of poker, and when I wake up in the morning with her smell trapped in my nose, I know I’ll never be the same again. She says she hates me, but it’s the hottest thing I’ve ever heard.
Jena Doyle writes smut for smut’s sake. No apologies. No shame. And definitely no judgement. When she’s not dreaming up dirty words for wild hearts, she enjoys traveling, binge watching trash TV, and dabbling in tarot and astrology. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English and Creative Writing, and enjoys rambling about Shakespeare's gay agenda.
They’ve both had traumatic events in their lives and that shows in the way they relate to people and in the way they don’t offer their hearts easily.
She has a tremendous difficulty in trusting anyone; he looks in the mirror and sees someone who doesn’t deserve to be trusted or happy.
They both teach each other to revert those perceptions.
BDSM stuff is not really my thing; however, I appreciated the way it’s described in this story - between these two characters it is the expression of their sexuality and the way both of them get pleasure.
Even though this wasn’t my favourite, I will continue reading the series because I liked the other stories very much.
BookSirens provided me the ARC for free. This review contains my opinion, which I am expressing voluntarily.
This MC book checked off a lot of boxes for my five-star rating. The steam, the intensity and the drama made this a book I couldn’t put down. It does come with a little twist for an MC romance and that is the the biker is the sub with a woman dominatrix.
Verona is the daughter of the Prez of the Steel Rose MC and a sister to Bear who happens to be Hollywood’s best friend. Hollywood himself has had a horrific upbringing and has made him the man he is today.
There are enemies all around which added a lot of chaos in this book. So if you like your books dark and dirty this is the book for you.
I just finished reading Mischief Mayhem and Jena Doyle has done it again, turned my heart inside out and found all of the dark places inside. This book grabbed hold of me by the emotions and took me on an incredible ride.
Hollywood is the one with the quick smile and the funny quip, but the façade is hiding some real pain. He feels unloved, unworthy, and unnecessary. He needs to let go- let it all go, and the person who can help him is Club Princess and Professional Domme Verona, aka Mistress Mayhem.
Verona has experienced severe depression in the past and has used her Mistress Mayhem persona to lift herself away from it. I like that Doyle didn’t shy away from discussing mental illness. I also like that she discussed it in a careful and appropriate manner without discounting its seriousness.
The zexytime was very intense and intriguing. It sometimes went past my usual frame of reference, but was so well written that I enjoyed it despite myself. I liked how valued she made him feel by both aftercare and some very inventive d/s methods. But what I liked most about the zexytime was that their tastes and needs aligned perfectly, and everything they did was completely consensual. Consent is sexy.
And, yes, the zexytime was intense and inventive, but the emotions were what really stood out. Both characters were able to take each other away from thinking about their troubles and issues. They ascended to an entirely different level. And through that, genuine intimacy formed and they were able to find a space to fall in love.
The love was intense, but so was the tragedy. The war with the Caputis rages on, plus there are new antagonists to worry about. And not everyone walks away this time.

Both Hollywood and Verona came across as confident people but once you read this you’ll know that under the bravado is the little boy who witnessed and was a victim of domestic violence. The vulnerable little boy whose mama has spent a lifetime in prison so he didn’t and then lost his rock a year ago when his brother was killed. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. 2.5 ⭐ Hollywood & Verona: (Sex, Violence, Profanity, Death, Abuse, and Suicide) For me this book of split down the middle. I really enjoyed the second half of the book with all the MC drama and the action. However this was my first book where the female lead was the dominant and the male was the submissive. It was really hard to imagine because “Hollywood” was like two different people; big alpha, kick butt MC member by day and then submissive at night. I couldn't see him as both. They just didn't fit me. I guess before 90% of MC romance books, the man is the dominant in all aspects of the relationship. And I guess I prefer that my men are more dominant to an extent. Though I thought this was an interesting concept. It did feel like the author was trying to do too much with the story between the BDSM, the stalking, and the MC/Mafia war. I did like that it wasn't the cartel that was the main antagonist. I wished the author went a different route with the stalker situation, like taking it farther. Instead it felt like an, “oops, I forgot to resolve this issue”. While the story isn't bad as a standalone, I think it might help to read the previous books, if only to get a feel for the supporting characters in this book but for no other reason. This is my first book from this author.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This book is great very close to stars for me. I li e how quickly there is action in the book to keep my attention while having a great character development. I will read the rest of the series.
This is the first book I've read by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The only downside is, I'm one of those readers who like to read a series in order, even though you don't need to with it but I like to have the back stories of the secondary characters who then become primary in the following books. I've enjoyed this so much I've purchased the remainder of the books so I can read them from the start of the MC club.
This book is between Hollywood, the man who had no regard for his life apart from doing as much living as he possibly could, especially with the ladies! Love and leave them, no ties, just fun! Due to his background he doesn't think he was worth anything, just a grunt. But that all changed when he decided to change his lifestyle. He became celibate 8 months prior.
Verona who is the sister of Hollywood's best friend Bear and the daughter of the Prez of the club Crow. She has always had a love/hate relationship with Hollywood. Being brought up by her dad and her 3 brothers since her mam passed away, she is not scared to voice her thoughts and stand up for what she believes in. She is dealing with the aftermath of being shot, which Hollywood then her bodyguard, went in front of her and took the main impact of it, which she thought he was going to die from. Now Wheels is her bodyguard, she is working from home doing webcam links while the BDSM club which she managed is being rebuilt after the bombing.
Verona wins Hollywood in an auction to raise funds to pay for her brother's medical expenses, who is still receiving treatment since the attack. Hollywood then puts a counter proposal on the table when they are playing cards later that night. If he wins the pot she has to take him on as a submissive.
While dealing with the start of this relationship the club is also dealing with problems with the FBI, the war with the Italian's and another MC club. While Crow is trying to stop the war and the bloodshed, Gabriella Caputi has other plans and it all comes up to a head and lives and loves are lost.

Where do I start? Jena Doyle is a new author to me, and I was fortunate to receive an ARC for this book. Yes, this is book 4 in the series where I jumped in. Without reading the previous books in the series I was able to follow along and not feel lost. But I can’t wait to dive into the other books!
I can say without hesitation I am completely in love with Hollywood! He has jumped to one of my all-time favorite book boyfriends. The abuse he suffered as a child has shaped him into the man he is today. He would lay life down his life to protect those he loves. Hollywood is charming and has the panty-dropping good looks that make women swoon. But he wants more than that. He wants to be seen for who is. And Verona is just the woman to do that and bring him to his knees – in more ways than one.
Verona was such a fierce FMC. Being raised the princess of the MC, she has seen it all. She’s tough and won’t let anyone take advantage of her. V has known Hollywood for most of her life and she doesn’t treat him like the other women that fall at his feet. After a life-altering event, they share a bond that many won’t understand.
I absolutely loved this couple. Their chemistry was off the charts. I haven’t read too many books where the FMC was the dom and the MMC was the sub, especially in the MC world. I loved this dynamic, and the author did a wonderful job with this couple.
I can’t say enough good things about this book! The world building was excellent, and the characters were perfect. The storyline was full of action and a bit of suspense. And the spice? Holy moly was it good! 10/10 would highly recommend! If the other books in this series are as good as this one, I think I’ll have found a new favorite series that will be read over and over again.
Thank you to Jena and Book Sirens for the opportunity to read this ARC. This review is my honest opinion, and I am leaving a review voluntarily.
I truly loved this book. Jena does it once again!! I was so excited to get to an free ARC of this book and it DID NOT DISSAPOINT!!! I will not stop talking about this book. Or any from the SRMC universe.. ever.
I have really enjoyed all the books of this series so far, but I think this may be my favorite of the group. I mean, I finished it in half a day, so that must mean something? I couldn't put it down!
Hollywood and Verona's story is so beautiful. It was honestly super refreshing to see the this take on a Domme/Sub relationship. Verona has a brutal unfortunate history, and her tough, take no shit demeanor has been her defense mechanism (understandably so). Whereas Hollywood's trauma affected him in such different way. It was beautiful to the the interworking of their minds. What drives them to act and react the way that they do.
HOLLYWOOD. UGH. What a sweet angel baby. I can't say enough about how much I just wanted to TAKE CARE OF HIM.
Both of them are so deserving of love and getting to see their growth as individuals and a couple was BEAUTIFUL.
and the Spiceeeee. My oh my the spice on this was intense!! I was clutching my pearls in every scene. The best part was that the spice felt like necessary to driving the story forward. It didn't feel like it was smut for smut's sake, ya know?
All in all, it was a great book. The story never felt like it was dragging and the character development was top tier. So so incredible. 5/5
Each book I read in this series, I say - this was my fave, how can Jena top this one. Well, she's done it again, but I think that V and Hollywood are my new faves. Their love/hate relationship, their amazing D/s relationship and oh my goodness their life blood relationship. This couple truly are mated souls.
I love that Jena can create a world, that is truly dark and gritty, but can still have these great loving relationships in it. I also love how she is in no way scared to kill off any of her characters. There is so much anger, killing and revenge in this series. When it's time to mourn in this book I did an ugly cry for at least a chapter. (It's really hard to read through tears without my glasses on). But then she had these scenes where there was obvious love flowing off the pages that melted my heart. Then there were scenes where I had to read one handed they were so steamy.
I love the continuing story line that's gone through this series so far. I agree that this book could have worked as a stand alone, but I don't think you'd have loved it as much if this is where you started in the story. I think you'd need to start from the beginning to really appreciate what these characters have gone through to mold them into who they are in this book. I also can't wait to read Julia and Bear's story next.
Mischief Mayhem is book 4 in the Steel Roses MC series and is the great, brother's best friend story of Hollywood and Verona. V is the President’s daughter and the Club Princess. Hollywood is the ultimate "humanizer" who's decided a change in his lifestyle is in order. This couple is so smokin hot you can feel the steam through the pages. But their club is under attack and it's taking a toll on everybody.
“I once knew a man who told me that family wasn’t about the blood that ran through your veins. I wasn’t about a name given to you, and it wasn’t about the people on your birth certificate. It’s about the people who love you when you don’t love yourself.”
Their journey is definitely not easy. They suffer a lot of loss, danger around them at every turn, trouble coming from all angles and more chaos than anyone needs or wants. But through it all they stand firm with each other. I love their story. It's full of emotion, excitement, twists and turns that'll keep you glued to the pages from beginning to end.
"Whatever this life brings, I know we can face it together, as a family"
I’ve been a fan of this series ever since I read Crimson Chaos and have remained so with each new release. Hollywood and Verona have known each other forever. An incident in a previous book linked them to each other and luckily in this book they find that they are suited in a D/s type relationship. However, Verona is the dominant one which was something I’ve rarely read. That part was designated to smexy times only, not an immersive lifestyle like a lot of the male dominated relationships I’ve read about, which would not have suited Hollywood at all. I enjoyed reading about their dynamic and there were some very spicy moments. My only problem was with the pacing. There was a lot of action happening after 80% and it had my head spinning with how fast everything was occurring. I would have liked that part fleshed out a bit more. My favourite part of the whole story was the growing friendship between Hollywood and Leo. I hope they don’t end up wanting to ☠️each other again. I’m a fan of Leo’s toughness in the face of adversity and he’s never given an inch. Still one of my favourite MC series.
Thank you to Book Sirens and Jena Doyle for the arc and this is my honest review.
**Disclaimer: I did receive this as an ARC through BookSirens. That in no way biases my opinion**
I absolutely loved this. So rarely do we get to experience a Domme, especially in motorcycle club romances. This one was high on spice, high on plot, well written, and the characters draw you. This author did a fantastic job of keeping with the core of BDSM (safe, sane, consensual) and at no point did it feel cheesy or like a stereotype of a Domme rather than an actual person who has that role. This was a great enemies to lovers, a trope I typically do not enjoy at all. There *is* a third act breakup if that’s a deal breaker for you, but it isn’t for me and I actually love them. It felt really well done and while it did have a touch of being because of miscommunication, it was a lot more due to fear and timing and raw feelings. It was really well done honestly. This is my first book read by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I’ll be coming back to read the rest in the series. I really hope the next one is about Bear!

Mischief Mayhem is book four in the Steel Roses Motorcycle Club Series.
This book was a spicy read. We get a lot of off the charts chemistry between Hollywood and Verona. Hollywood has a submissive side which he wants to explore more with the right dom, which just so happens to be Verona.
Hollywood is a bit unsure of himself as he is just seen as a pretty face. He wants to be seen as more than just that. So he works hard on changing how people view him and becoming a better version of himself. He wants people to take him seriously and love him for him and not just his looks.
Verona has dealt with someone who really attacked her confidence and made her feel unworthy. She really struggles with some dark thoughts and due to Hollywood saving her, she finally feels like she is cared for by someone. He really helps her get back her confidence and feel loved.
I absolutely am obsessed with this series and loved this book!!! It was filled with action, suspense, heartbreak, lots of hot scorching spice, and some BDSM. This bill checked off all the boxes in my likes in a dark MC romance. This book is part of the Steel Roses MC Series and should be read in order starting with Crimson Chaos it has a continuing plot throughout the series. I thought the storyline was original so page-turning. I couldn’t put this book down until the end. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book!!! The characters were intriguing, complex, a little broken and had an incurable and electrifying chemistry!!

Well written, does have some triggers so may not be for everyone. Full of drama, abuse, violence, steam, BDSM, betrayal, emotions, subs and dominatrix. Both Hollywood and Verona have experience abuse as young children. Each having to deal with the emotional set back from it. "V" has an adult web site that Hollywood has looked at and enjoyed. So when Hollywood comes up on an auction to help her brother's medical bills, she bids to win him. Oh what a start to lots of hot times for them. They both have issues to work on before before all things an go good for them. Enjoyed this book. Would recommend to others.
I am an ARC and leave this unbiased, honest review.
Hollywood and Verona have known each other for sometime as he his best friend is her brother Bear. They both have their demons, Hollywood killed his dad to protect his mum and she took the fall to spare her son. Verona lost her mum was lost to a car bomb. Both hide their vulnerability.
I love that Hollywood is currently intentionally celibate and Verona is off men.
There are problems with the FBI, the war with the Caputi Mafia and Hells Knights MC . Gabriella Caputi seems to have lost the plot killing indiscriminately when trying to find her brother.

I was not expecting the twist in Verona and Hollywood's relationship, but it certainly made this MC romance different. It also added a lot of depth to both characters that made you want to read their story. Hollywood especially intrigued me. After deciding he needed to change his ways, he seeks out the one person he shouldn't want and who makes no secret how she feels about him. They have a unique connection though and the love hate relationship is especially steamy. The ending can be somewhat graphic, but I will definitely read more.

The chemistry between the MC and FMC is on fire. I haven’t read any of the other books in the series but I feel like each book can be read as a stand alone. I will be reading the other books because you want to know the back stories of the other characters as you read about them.
V (Verona) and Hollywood (Matty) have a love/ hate relationship. When V saves Hollywood from himself and other girls pining after him in an auction, V gets more than she bargained for.

The chemistry between the MMC and MFC is 🔥
I enjoyed the pace, the plot and story line. And boy oh boy was I NOT expecting a female Dom but I was so down with it. I loved the dynamic and how she was written.
I have not read any other books in this series and was told though a standalone could be beneficial to read the others first as this is book #4.
So I plan on doing just that and coming back to Hollywood and Verona. ❤️

Mischief Mayhem is book 4 in the Steel Rose's Motorcycle Club series. This is a dark MC brothers best friend romance.
I think I'm in love with Hollywood 🤣🤣
Verona and Hollywood are soul mates and no one can tell me any different. I love them together so much and I love the different layers to their relationship. I gobbled this book up so fast, just like I have with the others in this series.
If you haven't read this series yet, you are really missing out!
This was a very emotional story, even more than Sel and Thor's. Hollywood and Verona both have lost so much and they're only in their twenties. They share a kink that helps them feel… something, only to discover they've always had each other. There is action, drama, and romance, but tragedy as well. Mischief Mayhem is a well written book with fantastic characters.

I thoroughly enjoyed this, both Hollywood (aka pretty boy) and Veron deserved a HEA, and eventually they get it. These two have been through so much, both together and separately, so yeah, they needed this book. It takes a bit and more loses to get them to their happy, but they do get there. It's an awesome story, and I loved it. I'm looking forward to how ms, Doyle is going to bring our next story to a HEA! IS IT FEBRUARY YET???
Woooweeee 🥵. This was the first book I’ve ever read with a female dom and a male sub and it did not disappoint! I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and how well they were described in the book which made me really be able to picture them. The writing style was good making it an easy read that kept me wanting more and more. And of course the details of the actions that the characters performed were *muah* chefs kiss 💋
Verona and Hollywood have been friends forever. Verona has 3 brothers who are bikers, Bear, and twins Castor and Pullox. Anyone that Verona is sweet on better be tough because her dad, brothers and the other bikers might just scare him off. But Hollywood already took a bullet for her. Her brother Pullox was still in the hospital, while others were killed. She took a bullet in the sternum after it passed through Hollywood. The book is steamy and full of action.
Loved this book. Hollywood is Verona's brothers best friend. When Verona loses at poker, Hollywood asks her to dominate him. Verona is a dom who loves to work Hollywood over and they agree to keep their relationship a secret. This book is full of danger from rival bikers, secrets, chemistry that is hot and a happy ending. I loved reading this book. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
MC Romance + Brothers Best Friend = the best combination of tropes!!! This is the 4th book in the SRMC and reads also as a stand alone, I have not read the previous 3 books in the series but they have been added to my TBR for sure. This book is a great read that I couldnt put down. First book I have read of Doyles and I will defiantly be reading MORE! The connection between the MMC and the FMC was more than a Dom/Sub relationship but a true soul mate match.
This book brought so many pieces from the whole series together in my mind. I feel I know how it all will end, though it's good to know I was mistaken about Crow. Can't wait to see what else I got wrong in my imagination.
I loved the reversal of typical roles in this story. It was an interesting and refreshing change. As always, Jena draws amazing images with her creative use of words. I'm counting the days/months until the next "chapter" is released.
I have been waiting for this book for a bit now. I am a loyal Steel Roses fan and this book delivers. Falling in love with your brothers best friend never looked felt so good until now. Quick read that will leave you wanting more. Hollywood is a goofy and semi overlooked man due to his scandalous reputation, but after one show from someone unexpected he’s putting all the old habits away to be a better version of himself. A deal made in a drunken state leads to a beautiful love! Go get it!
This series is everything. It’s sit on the edge of your seat, butterflies in your stomach as you read the amazing story about Verona and Hollywood. I love their chemistry and I also really respect the way Jena isn’t afraid to kill them off. I highly recommend you read this book, I couldn’t put it down. I give it 5 🌟
