I am loving Heidi's book, I've had it for less than a week and already it is a valued treasure and moves from clinic to bedside table to the living room and back again - I am finding it hard to put down. I know that this will be, not only a reference book, recipe book (for food as medicine and for topical products) but also a friend to reach for, for a long time to come.
I've been a herbalist for over 22 years now and I am still learning, and Heidi has packed this volume with plenty of that. And it's not just her knowledge but her inherent wisdom and true love of the plants that is shining through. Heidi has researched; she's talked with the plants; she's foraged and taste tested and brought to life these common plants that so many dismiss as weeds.
Now, I just need to find more hours in the day to indulge myself and read, read and read some more - then go for foraging walks in my neighbourhood and see what treasures I can find.
Beautifully illustrated and packed with detailed information. From the Wild is the perfect guide to identifying and using the common plants that surround us and often get dismissed as weeds. From foraging to culinary and medicinal applications, the information and recipes in this book are fascinating, informative and inspiring. Aesthetically pleasing form cover to cover, this book takes you on a delightful and thoroughly detailed journey into the word of wildcrafting plants for food and medicine. From the Wild is the perfect guide and a nice addition to Heidi’s previous book Wildcraft
