Audio-Digest Foundation CME/CE activities are designed to provide its learners – physicians and other healthcare professionals – with continuing education that will help identify clinical problems in their practice settings, provide content to help to solve those problems, and increase their application of knowledge to practice.
Audio-Digest Ophthalmology is specifically designed to provide the participant with up-to-date and accurate information on diagnosis and management in the major subspecialty areas of practice, including, but not limited
Allergy Cataract surgery and intraocular lenses Corneal and external disease Extraocular-muscle dysfunction Glaucoma Neuro-ophthalmology Orbital disease Ocular oncology Pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus Refractive surgery Retinal and macular disease Systemic and autoimmune disorders
Educational Objectives The goal of this program is to improve the diagnosis and treatment of retinal disease. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able
1. Evaluate a patient’s risk for progression to advanced dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD). 2. Differentiate among anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) therapies for wet AMD on the basis of visual outcomes, retinal thickness, and frequency of injections. 3. Compare the safety and efficacy of laser treatment with those associated with anti-VEGF therapies for the treatment of diabetic macular edema (DME) and retinal vein occlusion (RVO). 4. Summarize the role of intravitreal steroids in the treatment of DME and RVO. 5. Select appropriate medical therapy for patients with central RVO and branched RVO.
