Liliana Hart

Liliana Hart spent five years teaching music in the public education system. She molded America’s youth, busted kids for smoking pot in the restrooms, and broke up illicit affairs behind the stage on a regular basis. (Liliana’s Addison Holmes Mystery Series, about a small town teacher who gets into a whole lot of trouble, is somewhat autobiographical, but she won’t confess to which parts).

Liliana began reading romance novels with all her new found free time, and when she ran out of things to read, she decided to write her own novels. The result was a 150,000 word thriller—a dazzling adventure—where the heroine was a thirty-year-old virgin assassin (Yes, you read that right). She couldn’t imagine why people weren’t knocking down her door to read it, but she persevered and began writing a second book. She finally got the hang of things, and eventually learned that losing one’s virginity wasn’t all that romantic after all. All of her books involve some kind of suspense (she just can't help herself), laughter, and a lot of steamy sex.

Since the failure of her first attempt, Liliana’s books have won awards such as: The Daphne Du Maurier, The Suzannah, The Linda Howard Award of Excellence, The Maggie, and many others. Her affiliations include Romance Writers of America and Mystery Writers of America.

Liliana loves to cook, and is addicted to reading, Internet Boggle, kickboxing, and Bones. She lives in a big, rambling house in Texas with a couple of cats to keep her company. She loves to get emails from readers.

Enjoy the Adventures!

Well...hell! I still can't pick a guy. That is so unlike me...The true blue Babe side of me (from Evanovich's Plum series) wants to root for Savage, but I just can't dislike Nick the way I did Morelli. Sigh...probably I'm not supposed to mixing my triangles! I'd really like to read book 5 now...but there isn't one yet.

No it isn’t great literature but it is funny as hell (in a Stephanie Plum kind of funny) and it’s entertaining. Sometimes I want something a bit lighter and just humorous as a palate cleanser between the deeper, creepier, evil type of stuff I often read. This one fit the bill.

This was my shallow, hilariously funny listen for Sunday. Full of completely over the top characters with wonderful Southern charm, sexual innuendos and a minor mystery that is second to the characters and their relationships and dialog. I'm a fan of this series and listen to it whenever I need irreverent light entertainment.

I am little disappointed with this book. I love this series and have been eagerly anticipating the next book, but I am not thrilled with the authors inability to bring closure. Please , Ms. Hart do not make this series into another wishy washy noncommittal type of series. This book should have been longer, the ending felt rush and I dislike the fact the murder mysteries was "solved" in the matter of paragraphs.

I just finished the much anticipated Whiskey your the devil, and let me start by saying I do love this series and this author! The series is super funny, it's about a women who is a bit insecure, but at the same time empowering in her own right. Addison Holmes is your typical women, she loves retail, she loves ice cream, and she can appreciate a good looking man, but she tends to stumble into trouble here and there. Although, I do love this series, this particular book had me asking a lot of questions at the end... I did feel a little robbed over the family dinner, Nick should have been there he always adds to the family dinner conversation and I love when him and Addison's mom go back and forth. I do hope for the best for Addison and Nick, as I think Savage is becoming dangerously bold. I was hoping Nick would punch him out because that man is still messing with his woman! Savage is your typical douche, I mean really he was trying to creep with another man's girl, not cool but typical dog and douche move! I was actually surprised Addison didn't check him, that girl is feisty when she wants to be...

The author had me again, addicted to Addison Holmes! However, I do agree with the majority of the reviewers on this one, the book was too short, mystery solved too fast, and going backwards on a relationship that was already established with Nick and Addison in the prior book was just ODD.

I loved the first two books in the Whiskey series they were jam packed with flirtatious humour and action that kept me completely gripped but they were forming a noticeable pattern and as much as i love a easy to follow plot i felt i needed more. The third and fourth books in this series pretty much cemented my decision to not read further. I'm sorry Liliana but i found these books very similar to Janet Evanovich's Plum series and the love triangle was it for me. Again sorry, i adore all your other books but i wasn't impressed with the Whiskey series. :(

I was disappointed by this one, as I worry about similarities between this series and Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum. I like the snarky offbeat heroine, and have enjoyed the craziness but also her growth. This book seemed to have her take a step back, with the author undoing some previous paths in order to add unnecessary conflict. I hope Ms Hart doesn't go down the same, predictable road in the future.

Another one bites the dust. If you want to know about sex toys, anal beads, and the porn industry, this is the book for you. I thought Mr. Incredible was bad enough in book 3, but now we have super duper battery operated vibrators that cause hardship and woe. Geez, these books gets stupider by the number. The same old same old rivalry between Nick and Savage...and I don't now about you, but isn't a prologue supposed to be something that happens before, not after? It's like a little trailer of what is to come. The mystery in this story is really very banal, and when Rosemarie's house gets tossed, it's clear to me why. The ending, like in all the other books is abrupt and like an afterthought. It's like a train wreck though, and I have to keep reading them. I'm already halfway finished the next one, which is a very short one, and not much changes with it.

Addison is working part-time at her friend, Kate's detective agency, and studying and training to become a full-time PI. Kate said, against her better judgement, that if Addison finishes in the top of her class, she'll hire her on full-time. The case she is working on involves the theft of a replica of the Star Trek Enterprise. Kate suspects the owner, Spock, who is Addison's former neighbour and friend, is trying to scam for the insurance money. Spock asks Addison to find the replica and points her in the direction of who he is sure stole it.

Nick, a police officer, and Addison have been dating on and off and are now living together. But that doesn't stop FBI Agent Savage, who is attracted to her, from trying to entice her away.

Rosemarie, Addison's friend, has been arrested for the murder of a former porn star and now owner of an sex shop. As crazy as Rosemarie is, Addison doesn't think her friend is capable of murder and tries to find out who did it. This mystery wraps up very quickly at the end. I was buying the whodunnit but it didn't make sense why the victim had involved Rosemarie in the first place.

This is the fourth book I've read by this author and I liked it. Though it is the fourth in the Addison Holmes series, it works as a stand alone. It was a light fun book to read. It is written in first person perspective from Addison's point of view. I liked the writing style ... it was amusing. There have been typos and lazy grammar in the previous books but this one was really bad ... the editing could have been a lot tighter. As a head's up, there is swearing and adult activity.

I look forward to reading the rest in this series in addition to other books by this author.

4 Reluctant stars. I love this series, but this one just didn't quite live up to the previous books. It hooked me from the beginning, as all of Hart's books do. There were laugh out loud moments. But, this one just didn't have the spark that the others have had. I was also disappointed in the ending. Talk about bad timing!

I'm a little afraid that Ms. Hart is going to turn this into a Stephanie Plum-like series where things keep stringing along and every book becomes the same 'ole same 'ole. I certainly hope not! Addison Holmes has so much more potential. Indecision isn't always what keeps the reader interested.

I love the Addison Holmes series, but this one fell a bit short for me (pun intended). It was a bit short and just not up to Liliana's usual. There are laugh out loud moments and as usual, Addison gets herself in a jam a time or two, but there just wasn't as much going on as usual. Also, the ending fell a bit short for me, well the part where they caught the bad guys. It was kind of like they started investigating, then bam, there they are it's over. I am still a bit torn between the two men in Addison's life.

It's hard to review this book. I LOVE Liliana Hart, she's one of my favorite authors! This was an amazing book!! However, it was just too short! Just when the story got going good it was over. Plus the cliffhanger had me slapping my head saying "are you kidding me"!? I would rather have a book that's longer than a short book with cliffhangers at the end of each! I forget what the book was about by the time the next one comes out.

Lilliana Hart is one of my favorite authors! She can draw me In from the first sentence and keep me hooked throughout the entire book. I was a little underwhelmed with this particular book but know that she will deliver a home run hit with the next book! Keep going with her series and read the other books that she has! You will. To be disappointed!

I wasn’t going to read this because by the end of book 3 I was just weary of the typos and consistency errors. But I had purchased it on sale while I was reading book 1, and since book 3 ended with a “cliffhanger”, I read it. The “cliffhanger” turned out to be a cheap trick. The book was same old, same old, and it ended with another “cliffhanger”. Not biting this time. I’m out.

I have enjoyed this series but I was disappointed in this book. I do not want to read another series where the main character can not decide between two men. In addition, there were a few misspelled words and there was at least one sentence that did not make any sense at all. Too bad!

I really enjoyed the content, however there were a ton of editing mistakes throughout the book. Misspelled words, incorrect words, etc. it becomes very frustrating to read, as each mistake temporarily distracts from the whole. I truly hope the next book does not have the same issues.

Very entertaining...love the setting and Addisons friends and more than friends...the plot was a little on the light side and I guess Rosemarie was cleared of the murder....and we don’t know if Addison answered Nicks question....lots of typos in here also.....

7/10: Good solid read, something to get your teeth into.

Shorter & more expensive. That really doesn't make sense. Still a fun read, but I'll admit, I'm nervous about the next book(s) from reading reviews. Plus the description for the following novella and next full book are identical so I'm confused.

BUT I'm getting ahead of myself because this one was still good.

The good news about having a homicide detective for a boyfriend is that I can call him whenever I stumble over a dead body.

Again...loved Nick.

“I don’t know when I’ll be home. Call me if you need bail money.” He disconnected and I figured that was just as good as saying I love you.

But Savage is still hanging around and generally disregarding relationship boundaries.

Rosemarie is a laugh, though.

“I dated a man once who couldn’t find the beat if you hit him upside the head with it. Made me seasick, stopping and starting like that. It was like his penis had a stutter. Couldn’t decide whether it was coming or going.”

And I loved Phoebe, Addison's sister.

“I’m not dressing up as a nun again,” Phoebe said. “That turned out to be more trouble than it was worth. You’d think all those people would’ve noticed the beer in my hand while they asked me to pray for them.”

The mystery was good but resolved in the end a little too abruptly. Savage needs to go, now, too. Coupled with the shorter length & more expensive price, this one lost a star and its Top Reads status.

But still fun. And Nick wins the day. But do I dare chance the novella and next full length book? Those reviews! And what's with the numbering and descriptions? Identical! WTF?

Ok so we're 4 books in now and while Addison has passed the PI exam, 4th in her class she still got a whole lot of growing up to do. In this book Rosemary, her zaftig buddy is arrested for murdering a local sex shop owner and ex-porn star, Spock is being investigated for insurance fraud when her reports his Enterprize model missing, and Phoebe is packing her bags and moving to NYC, leaving Addison once again holding the lease on empty rental unit. There is another silly argument between Nick and Addison where she beans him with a crystal dish and knocks him out. And while this I guess is supposed to be amusing it's really more alarming. When do the domestic abuse jokes start? The best laughs were had with the ex-porn stars husband Lance (because of course Lance). And Matt, our half native American FBI agent is back and for some racist reason the author decided to have him say to Addison "10-4 Kemo Sabi"? I mean, cringe! Didn't anybody else find that really inappropriate? I mean, I get that Addison is supposed to be a clutzy, smart mouthed southern girl PI, but she keeps giving off prissy church Lady vibes combined with treat me like a princess even while I demand equal treatment vibes. It's confusing and seems like an underhanded way to slam women who really do seek a little respect and equal treatment under the law. Just how old is this author anyway?

The fourth book fell back into the boring category and I cannot tell you how annoyed I was with Agent Savage who seems to be deaf and doesn't accept a "no" and I was equally annoyed with Addison whose "no" seems more like a question than a statement. This is probably why the series reminds me more and more of the Stephanie Plum series although here the love triangle is more implied than confirmed as Addison never really cheats on Nick but she can't seem to stay away from Savage who lives just across the street and is more than happy to state on a daily basis how happy he could make her while she assures herself and everybody that she is in love with Nick and the end was simply disappointing.

The case was again not very interesting for me and I just kept reading because of the Addison-Nick-Savage thing and the end disappointed me again. Still, since I bought the bundle I will read the next one. Not sure if I'd continue if I had the single books. 3 stars

Sooooo many typos, especially in the last chapter! What the heck?? Makes me want to become an editor or something to make sure these things are caught! So very distracting and annoying. Honestly, this one fell suuuuuper flat for me. All of the sudden she isn't pregnant but we aren't really told that, so we're just wondering at the beginning what's going on and if we missed something? Ending the previous book on that and then just having it be a "false alarm" felt so cheap to me. And then man, the subject matter in this one? Geez Louise! Super uncomfortable. And THEN it's just over, wham bam, but we get a proposal, and then of course Savage comes in at the end?? Ugh, I was enjoying this series but I'm a little over it at the moment, clearly. Blech.

Also, it was like 100 pages shorter than usual? Felt like half a book. Ugh.

i love this series. when it left off she had taken a preg test with her friend and accidentally found out she was preg. she didnt tell her cop boyfriend (who she moved in with) at the end of the book. at the beginning of this book he found the test where she hid it. then the book jumped back to when she was supposed to take her pi test and her friend from high school teaching had taken her to a porn shop to confront the owner and they found her dead. her friend is being questioned.

she had to try and clear her friend, she knew she didnt kill the lady. they went thru a lot of adventures. her boyfriend was so upset about her being preg but turned out the test was old and wasnt accurate, she wasnt preg. but he did the right thing in the end and asked her to marry him!

her sister moved out of her rental (she didnt go to bed with the fbi guy across the street) but her friend from teaching school is going to move in.

i just love this series and cant wait to get the next book!

I was looking for something that was lighthearted and humorous. I found it in listening to this book. This was a little reminiscent of the Stephanie Plum, Ranger, and Morelli situation. Yet Addison Holmes doesn't come across quite as flaky and immature as the character in that book

With a cast of quirky characters to assist, Addison tried to put her PI skills to use. I did like that she had both friends and family who had her back. I also liked that she made a decision before the kind of cliffhanger ending.

The mystery in this book got lost because it seemed as if everyone and everything was all over the place. I am honestly not sure I remember the identity of the killer. Even acknowledging that, I still enjoyed listening to this book. Rating: 3.5 Stars
