Ryan Décarie could literally charm the pants off anyone. It was his biggest talent and his biggest downfall.
When he crosses paths with Bente Denison five long years after breaking her heart, sparks fly.
Trying to convince her that he’s finally ready for something more serious isn’t easy – and the reason why is simple.
He’s never had anything serious.
Totally clueless when it comes to meaningful relationships, Ryan’s in dire need of guidance, and it comes from the most unlikely source imaginable – his four-year-old niece, Bridget.

Big thanks to G.J. for an ARC copy for review.

G.J. always has the ability to get me so enraptured by her stories, her characters and the wonderful world she creates. It's the magic within each page that makes this series so special for me. Two words come to mind after reading this novel, Absolutely Amazing! Ryan and Bente's story was filled with humor, Decarie drama, little heartaches and romance, oh yes the romance.

We were first introduced to Ryan in Second Hearts as the arrogant, good looking, playboy of a guy. He was quite the jerk, but I still found him irresistible and I have always loved his snarky humor and honesty, even if it was brash at times. Being inside his mind this time around I got to see this whole new side to Ryan Decarie and it was definitely swoon worthy and heartwarming. I loved his relationship with his niece Bridget and their interactions together were just precious . Though there was one particular scene between them that really got to me emotional.

"It was big moment for Ryan too. I took a few seconds to study him as he stood looking up at the girl butterfly. He looked completely victorious, and rightly so. He'd just pulled off the impossible and given Bridget her wings back." ~ Bente

Bente is a great character in this series for me. She has this feisty and independent nature about her and like Charli I can easily relate to her. Plus she keeps Ryan on his toes. Now for my favorite part, the romance. Ryan and Bente may not have had the best relationship history between them, but when they decide to try again after 5 years apart, it's this second chance that makes them see what they truly mean to one another. Everything. It really was beautiful to see.

"I think I should keep you forever."
The corner of his mouth lifted into a sly smile. "You should," he agreed.
"I'm pretty close to being the complete package." ~ Bente and Ryan

It was great to see familiar faces again as well as some new ones, especially the man known as "Tiger". The ending was just perfect for these two and it left a big happy grin on my face. I always love coming back to La La land and can't wait until the next adventure.

As found on: book-boyfriends

" Once upon a time there was a little fairy that was loved in all the lands. Her father was devoted to her, her mother never had possessed a more beautiful treasure and even the evil queen couldn't resist the little fairy's charm. She was a whirlwind and yet a sweetheart.

description

A dreamer by nature the fairy never saw deceit coming. yet there was one guy, a beast on the outside, a soft prince on the inside, that had no respect for honor, and so he got the little fairy and convinced her to help him steal the heart of a pretty princess. The task wasn't as easy as it sounded because the beast already had broken the princess's heart once and the princess had moved on, trying to shield herself from heartbreak by refusing the beast's advances and not believing any promise he made her.

Yet, one day the beast and his clever side-kick fairy got the princess exactly where they wanted her: In the arms of the beast.

description

So, eventually all fairytales have a bump in the road and of course, being with a beast is not easy, especially when the princess always hoped to find the good in the beast. And finally it seemed as if the beast saw the light:

"What are you going to do about it, Ryan?"
"Do about what?"
He mentioned to Bente with an upward notch. "The girl who knows you and still doesn't think you're a dick."
I gazed across at Bente for a long time before replying. "I think I'm going to marry her."
- Secret North by GJ Walker-Smith

But, not all is well in the realm of the fairies. Even though our little, beautiful fairy managed to make the beast and his princess happy, the princess still isn't fully content. Since she had been a little girl our princess had wanted to be independent and in love. Love she had found, but so far her beast, who more and more turned into prince, seemed to be the only way for her to get by. So who else could there be to help but our little fairy?"

And here I have to take a step back from the little story I am telling you because the time when Bente and Bridget spent time alone easily belongs to the most beautiful scenes I've ever read. Bridget taking Bente's sorrow serious, even with her short life experience, ready to catch a wish for her just made me weep with the sweetness of it. I can seriously see myself sitting on a bench, looking up into autuum-sky, hoping to find a leave falling on me just so I can have a wish. But back to the story I have been telling.

"The fairy and our princess spent a great day and what do you know? Sometimes wishes come true! But the beast wasn't called beast for nothing. He actually crushed our little fairy, telling her that something like magic wouldn't exist. Oh beast, if there wasn't magic, then how did you ever think you'd become the prince the princess could love until they lived happily ever after?

And not only that is a dark cloud in the happy realm of our little fairy, no, her daddy-dearest is unhappy and so seems to be the little fairy's mother. Sometimes a decision you once made isn't one for life and so, even though their home is a beautiful one, it isn't enough. Some things are never enough.

Preparations for a big party eventually took over the more or less happy days the princess and the beast had. With the little fairy out of the picture for a while, thanks to the beast's kick into her believes, the happy realm is covered in a sad cloud and it only seemed to get sadder by the day. Suddenly even the beast is realizing that magic, in the form of his little fairy, is a necessity. But will there ever be a happy day again in the happy realm?"

There is a lot I could say about that book, especially considered how badly I had wished for book four to be about Alex, but Ryan's book seriously is top-notch writing. GJ Walker-Smith has stepped up her game, making her story look even more like a fairytale hidden in a YA-Novel. Dreamers like me seriously can drown in that world and not at all be bothered by it. What only bothers me is that I need to come back up and realize that reality is still there.
People who aren't dreamers can read that book and still enjoy the sweetness of the moments, the love between the two mains and the friendship and devotion that can be between an uncle and his niece.

Magic is everywhere and all we need is to see it. I miss having my wings, but I intend on getting them back...

"She knocked herself out trying to fly, Charli." I reminded. "You can't possibly think that's okay."
She put both hands flat on the counter, probably to stop herself lurching forward and ripping my throat out. "Perhaps if you hadn't stolen her wings, she might've done it."
- Secret North by GJ Walker-Smith

This book is an adult fairytale, and I mean that in the most innocent way possible. It contains magic and hope, sweetness and growing in every sense of the word. You need to get out and see La La land because there is nothing better, and I swear, it doesn't matter if you are fifteen or fifty-five. This is my favorite book ever... No doubt about that.

GJ Walker-Smith ... I'd say delivers, but to be honest, it's much more than that: She enchants, she captures and then she never lets you go. So what is there left to say?

And the end of the day, just dance it away.

Ryan Décarie woke to the shock realization that he was thirty years old. His birthday was a day he would prefer to forget, but he wouldn’t be able to – not if his parents had any say in the matter – and they would. But he didn’t mind hearing from his favourite niece, four year old Bridget; the most amazing little girl in the world in his opinion, and she had done a lot to calm her Uncle Ry’s life, he knew that for a fact.

As Ryan left his apartment he was stopped suddenly by the vision of a taxi cab pulling to a sudden halt in front of him, with a young woman tumbling from the back door. But she was yelling at the driver as she exited – Ryan could see that she was furious – the anger came off her in waves. When her belongings ended up strewn across the footpath and Ryan stepped forward to help, he had no idea his life was about to change irrevocably…for the angry young woman was none other than Bente Denison, a woman whose heart he had broken five years prior, but had not seen since.

Bente had loved Ryan (truth be told she still did) but she wasn’t about to let him hurt her again. So when he told her he had changed, she wasn’t convinced…why should she trust him after what he did to her five years ago? With Charli and Adam both working, Ryan babysat Bridget as often as he could – he adored his niece and couldn’t seem to get enough of her. So when Bente came to the park too, Bridget was jealous. And so began the wonderful tale of a four year old believer of fairies (how could she not with Charli as her Mum) teaching her beloved uncle just how the world worked.

Secret North is another beautiful story of LaLa land but from Ryan’s perspective this time. The truth of the title of the book revealed near the ending was fabulous! Told alternatively by Ryan and Bente with sprinklings of Charlie, Adam and the parents throughout, it was a great follow-up in the Secret Wishes series. But my favourite character of all is Bridget….what an absolute sweetheart!

Aussie author G.J. Walker-Smith is a brilliant storyteller, absolutely on top of her game, and I would recommend the Secret Wishes series highly to everyone, but especially lovers of YA.

With thanks to the author for my copy to read and review.

Ryan Decarie my honey... well you have met one of the handsome Decarie brothers Adam. You finally get a FULL novel on his brother Ryan. Ryan features in all three of the other novels, Saving Wishes, Second Hearts and Storms Shells, and in Secret North we finally get some one on one time with the elder Decarie brother (yum yum) following his love life. What is a must, to fully understand this next novel in the Saving Wishes series, is to have read the other 3 books that i mentioned above, then you will fully understand Ryan and his ways. GJ Walker-Smith did an excellent job with his story. Ryan is a womaniser (there are harsher words that i could use to describe him, but i will keep it dignified in here LOL ) he plays the field, and really who could blame him, he is young, rich, drop dead gorgeous... i would let him do whatever he pleases to me... In Secret North he finally meets someone that he is willing to give up his slutty ways for. You will not be disappointed in this book, its funny, witty, charming, you will fall in love with Ryan all over again and Miss Bridget Decarie will warm your hearts. I was lucky enough to receive an arc for this book, i hope you enjoy it as much as i did. <3

I was super lucky to get an early copy of Secret North.
I have adored Ryan from the minute he showed up in Second Hearts. This story was another fantastic addition to the series. Ryan and Bridget's relationship is a beautiful one. GJ Walker-Smith always manages to spin a magical tale, I don't know how she does it. She made me laugh and cry. She even converted me to an Adam Lover, which is no mean feat. Secret North was just perfect. It is Secret North.

Walker-Smith astounds me. She writes these wonderful contemporary stories and never once deploys a single weapon from the Typical Trope Cache.

In SECRET NORTH it's time for Ryan to get his happy ending. Once a charming playboy and unapologetic manwhore, he tries to leave it all behind with the intent to woo Bente, the one woman from his past who he never wanted to hurt but did. With token reluctance in order to protect her heart from being broken all over again she finds herself moving in with him, agreeing to be his girlfriend, dodging both her sister's disapproval and the occasional appearance of one of Ryan's old flames.

Sound familiar, right? Usually this scenario is rife with misunderstandings, jealousies, breakups and all around drama. Well, nope, not this time! Our couple stays together for the duration, navigating Ryan's less than stellar history with grace and the one fight they do have has nothing to do with another woman (or man). Even the drama was mostly relegated to Charli and Adam and the strain between the original couple and the Décarie parents.

While I adored the uncle-niece relationship between Ryan and Bridget I did feel a little bit overloaded with it. It seemed less a story about Bente and Ryan and more the Baby Bardot Show but, I mean, again it was more adorable than not. Like the scene when Ryan gives her back her wings; it had me totally choked up. I was pretty close to losing it.

Thankfully I closed the door on SECRET NORTH with my feelings post-STORM SHELLS intact. Ryan is my #1 in the Wishes series. And while I left book three still unimpressed with Adam, this time around I was far more forgiving and sympathetic to his New York incarnation. I liked how Walker-Smith turned the tables on the dynamic, switching it up from how it had been Charli struggling in New York back in book two. And even though he spent most of this book unhappy with his work situation he never once irritated me. Whether my feelings survive the end of STAR PROMISE, where the focus shifts away from Ryan and Bente, well. Only time will tell.

Secret North is the 4th book in this fabulous series.

In previous books, Ryan or as I like to refer to him "Ry" has had a smaller part, but now he has his own book as his story was a must to be told.

Ry is the womaniser brother of Adam who has never had a girlfriend in all his 30 years. That is until Bente comes back into his life, the only girl that had ever meant anything to him.

For Bente, Ry is the one that broke her heart and has been hiding in Boston for the last 5 years to recover.

I loved this book for so many reasons, the first being that I am a romantic at heart and this series always delivers. Secondly, Ry has a sense of humour that tickles my fancy! That this book is set in NYC makes my heart sing. I also love that it reconnects the other characters and we get to meet little Bridget, and she is a treasure. There are some great one liners in this book, and at the present time my favourite is "At Black Plague Level!".

The 1st book in this series is free (Saving Wishes), and for a short time only, so is the 2nd (Second Hearts).
So do yourself a favour, snap them all up while you can, because you are going to love them!

Another visit is La La land is always anticipated with joy and an expectation of a great read, in turns moving, romantic and off beat. Once again GJ Walker-Smith meets and exceeds our demands. With Ryan and Bente the stars of this novel, we meet another man who is trying to be better and and a strong female character who takes us on her journey.

I loved the dual point of view that the book is written in as it helps us follow both characters and the challenges and joys they experience. It's wonderful to revisit old characters and there are plenty of new fairies to meet. The families of both main characters are fleshed out, and I really need there to at least one more book to wrap up some minor threads that are woven through the story * hint hint GJ *.

If you've enjoyed her previous books, you'll love this one! If you haven't read any, this story can be read alone :)

****Thank you for the surprise ARC Ms. Gemma!****

Totally what I have expected it to be, funny meaning seriously laughable moments, heart breaking, inspiring and never failing to be a MAGICAL story.

I love how Ms. Gemma introduce Ryan at the very first in Second hearts and ending it with an amazing BANG! He truly grown up and surely he's a whole package now. Thanks to Bente who did a remarkable job about it but mostly to Bridge who open up the beautiful side of Ryan :)

I love Ryan's story to bits just like all the other series of The Wishes. I actually didn't notice that I terribly miss Charli & Adam. It was a delight to see them, watch and hear them again.

I can't wait for more of Ms. Gemma's stories! Until the next Magic!

A copy was provided by the author.

I have adored this Wishes Series right from the start and not one of the books has fallen below my expectations.

I love Adam and Charli from the previous books and they feature strongly BUT this story is about Ryan and Bente. Ryan is an evolving man and it's a joy to read his journey to adulthood (yes I know he's not new to this stage in his life). The biggest delight in this book has to be Bridget. There were numerous times I was laughing out loud to my family's annoyance but Bridget is just so damn funny!

If you've not read this series now is the time to start......it's my all out favourite.

Great book. Can't wait foe December. I loved hoiw sweet Ryan was to Bente and I loved that he was his own worst critic. I was also glad to get updates on Charlie and Adam. I am so glad that they are going back home to Pipers Cove and I hope that they explain more about what Charli went through (I have my suspicions and I think it is something no woman wants to go through). Finally, I hope we get more of Ryan in the next book. I think it would be awesome for him to return to La La land and have some male bonding time with Alex again. Keep up the great writing.

This book is really amazing! It's very well written and edited. The characters are totally believable and relatable. This author never ceases to amaze me with her work. It just continually gets better and better. Seeing as how this is the fifth book in the series, you're in for a treat! Make sure you read the first three as a precursor to this one.

You'll be just as addicted as I am by the end of the first book, Saving Wishes.

Sooo, I totally loved Secret North mostly because I got to get to know Bridget better. Love her writing and her stories! This is a nust read since you get to see a side of Ryan I never knew existed and I am just so surprised to see how much he's changed since the other books. Hopefully you fall in love with this book as I did!

Okay where to start… this book was totally swoon worthy! I absolutely love Ryan Décarie and his new found relationship with Bente Denison. But I absolutely adore Bridget Décarie; I swear that kid has so much personality, she almost steals the show… she’ll definitely steal your heart!

Secret North is the fourth instalment in GJ Walker-Smith’s The Wishes Series. It tells the story of self proclaimed man-whore Ryan Décarie as he tries to right his ways and commit to a one-woman relationship with Bente Denison (who we first met in Second Hearts). It’s a heart-warming tale of love and self discovery, and is truly a book for every hopeless romantic out there. But if your not a huge fan of romance, don’t despair this book is a lot of fun as well, in fact it reads like a rom-com at times (particularly with the scenes that Bridget is in). Secret North is one of those books that will make you laugh, make you cry, but ultimately leave you with a smile on your face wishing for your very own Ryan Décarie or Pecan Pie Girl.

“I’m going to get your heart, Ryan,” she whispered.

“Bring it on, sweetheart. I’m ready for you.”

When GJ Walker-Smith first announced this book, I was a little bit worried. You see Charli and Adam have stolen my heart and I wasn’t sure how I’d take a novel dealing with other characters – I really just wanted more Charli and Adam if were being honest. But just like when I read Sand Jewels, I quickly overcame that fear and fell head first into the world that Walker-Smith so beautifully portrays. This is helped partially by the supporting cast cameos of Charli, Adam and Bridget. But honestly, Secret North is a beautiful novel about passion and life and how we choose to live it and with whom. It’s beautifully written and dare anyone not to sigh in awe when the title’s meaning is revealed towards the end of the book.

“Do you love me, Ryan?”

“If I say yes, can I keep you forever?”

It feels like a lifetime ago that we were first introduced to Ryan Décarie (when truthfully it was less than a year ago and only two books ago) and he first walked on to the page all cocky play-boy like, self assured and not looking for anything from anyone. He was afraid of commitment and liked to have minimal dealings with La La Land. Then in Storm Shells we bore witness to a whole other side of Ryan when he stayed in Pipers Cove looking out for the heavily pregnant Charli while she sorted – ignored – the looming deadline of telling Adam. We got to see a sweet side of him that went so adorably hand in hand with his witty humours side. And now in Secret North we’re introduced to a whole other side of Ryan – the hopeless romantic, second guessing, out of his depth Ryan Décarie.

Having previously slept with Bente back in the day (Second Hearts), the last thing Ryan expected was to find her booted out a cab on his door step. But there she was, all flustered and angry and lost. Without thinking, and feeling partly sorry for himself, he asks her to spend his 30th birthday with him … including toddler aged chaperones … and the rest is history as they say.

“You haven’t changed one bit, Bente Denison. You’re still mean.”

“I doubt you have either,” she replied. “I’ll bet you’re still a pretty boy man-whore.”

I grinned. “At least you think I’m still pretty.”

What follows is a well thought out book that showcases the best and worst parts of a relationship and humanity. It’s perfectly paced and rather witty and I dare you not to laugh at Bridget and Ryan’s antics. Throughout the book these two share a lot of time together, and I think it’s even remarked on in the book that prior to Bente the only relationship Ryan’s had with a girl in his entire life is the one that he has with his Niece. When Ryan is with Bridget, it’s almost as though he is completely free to be himself – his whole self, free from inhibition and expectation. Those two (Bridget and Ryan) share a special one of a kind connection and it’s kind of amazing to witness, even if its only fictional.

Despite the fact I was coming dangerously close to aiding and abetting a four-year-old criminal mastermind, I played along. “What If we caught?”

Bridget stared at me for a long moment while she thought it through. “You run, Ry,” she said. “Really fast.”

As is customary in La La Land, magic features heavily within this book, whether it be through the fairy stories Charli and Bridget tell, or through the magic of romance and the heart felt moments like the scene when Ryan is giving Bridget her wings back. The later moments happens quite late in the book and its one of those scenes where everything is just so beautiful, it’s hard not to cry. Especially given the scene’s background. After disappointing Bridget, Ryan is tasked with giving the bubbly toddler her beliefs back and he does it through story and ‘magic’ fairy wings. It’s truly precious. Not to mention a testimony to not only the characters strength, but GJ Walker-Smith’s writing. In this scene in particular, the characters aren’t just words on the page, they are living and breathing people before your very own eyes. They are real and mesmerising, and thus we live their heartache and triumphs as though they were our very own.

‘I think I should keep you forever,”

The corner of his mouth lifted. “You should,” he agreed. “I’m pretty close to being the complete package.”

And you know what? This book totally is.

Ryan and Bente...

I loved Ryan and Bente’s story. They have such amazing chemistry. The road getting to where the ended up was filled with twists and turns and bumps along the way. But it all ended in the perfect Ry and Bente way. I think this is actually one of my favorite books so far of the series. Off to read the next book in La La Land!

4.5 out of 5 stars

I love, love, love this series. Seriously, this is my favorite contemporary series in the world.

Okay, onto the review…

This book was different from the first three. Obviously. It's switches from Ryan and Bente's pov's.

What? No Charli and Adam?

Personally, I used to think, as a character, I liked Ryan better. I don't mean that I shipped him and Charli. I don't. Charli and Adam forever. I just liked Ryan for Ryan. For some reason this book made me like Adam a whole lot more. For the first time I saw Adam how really he was, because, with Charli, he just seemed too perfect. I mean, yeah he royally screwed up a few times, but Charli always forgave him. From Ryan's pov Adam's so much more mature than himself and truely, deeply in love with Charli and Bridget.

And Bridget. Omigod, Bridget is the most awesome four year old ever.

“Maybe I can help you too,” I suggested. “What words are you having trouble with?”
“Pock-a-picks,” she blurted. “I can’t say pock-a-picks.”
I was stumped. I couldn’t even correct her because I had no clue what she meant. “What’s a pock-a-pick?”
As soon as she put her little fingers to her mouth, I knew it was an animal – and that there was a squeep squeep coming.
“It’s a baby with prickles,” she explained, wiggling her fingers. “They go squeep squeep squeep.”
Bridget is predominantly Australian. Perhaps prickly echidnas squeep. “An echidna?” I guessed.
“No, Ry.” She shook her head. “That’s a puggle.”
I felt truly sorry for her. It wasn’t Bridget’s fault that her mother liked to fill her head with nonsense. Moments like this highlighted exactly how dangerous the wrong information could be. If Charli kept the baloney going, the poor kid was in for a miserable school career.
“Puggle isn’t a word, Bridge.”
Letting her down gently had no effect. She stomped a boot on the ground, making the contents of the mystery pink bag rattle in her hand. “It is,” she insisted. “Ask someone.”
I looked from left to right, wondering who she was expecting me to stop. As busy as the park was, I couldn’t see a single person who looked knowledgeable in Australian wildlife. “What am I supposed to ask, Bridget?” I asked. “Excuse me ma’am do you know what a puggle is?”
She raised her free hand, bouncing on the spot. “I know! I know!” she squealed. “It’s a baby ’chidna.”
I made a mental note to hold off on the sarcasm for a year or two. I decided to dazzle her with science instead. I took my phone from my pocket and Googled it – then had to eat my words because a baby echidna is indeed called a puggle.
“How can you possibly know the things you do?”
She grinned, reminding me too much of her mom. “I’m a smart girl, Ry.”

The whole time Ryan and Bente's story is playing out you can tell stuff is happening in Adam and Charli's corner also. I'm fairly certain book five is going to be from their pov in the same time frame.

So yeah…

It’s my second time pre-order a Wishes series book and both times I’we got the note just as I was getting ready to go to work. It’s crazy how whole day you are counting minutes until you can get back to home snuggle under your blanket and finally get some updates what is going on with Charli and Adam and what has happened with the best friend a crazy Australian girl who lives in a “La La Land” can have- amazing Ryan.

I’ve loved Ryan since I first met him in a Second Hearts and I’ve been super exited to read his story. I guess because I’ve already known how awesome he is for a while now, it didn’t surprise me that Bente was in total awe too. I mean- we are talking about irresistible good looking guy who makes you laugh all the time and takes a good care of his friends and workers. At first I was even bit upset because everything went so smoothly for those two when I actually expected more drama. Somehow when I started to read this book, I’ve imagined it will take some serious work to win Bente’s trust and even got exited about thinking how I’ll read all about how Ryan is going to organize so many romantic gestures with the help of Charli to win her over. So yeah, I had mixed emotions when I finished reading this book but then after thinking about it, I’m again just amazed how GJ just did it again. She didn’t write a typical boy-meets-girl story. She wrote something real. Something we all can relate to. If I would meet my Ryan I would feel exactly the same as Bente and would not need more at all. Of course I would have my trust issues at the beginning but... a guy who I have had feelings for 5 years invites me to live with him and assures me that he is really ready to try having a real relationship with a girl like me. OMG, I wouldn’t have done anything differently.

But what I really loved about this book was the interactions between Ryan and Bridget. Being a former Au pair I can really relate how you can love someone else’s children as your own and how sometimes a 4 year old is much smarter than yourself. So again, I really love how GJ has written a book full of magical moments that everyone can relate to and it motivates me to open my eyes to the magic around me in my daily life. But I still can’t wait to step back to La La Land in December!

I love the Wishes series, and I was thrilled to learn that this book would be about Ryan and Bente's relationship. The book had happy parts, awkward parts, laugh-out-loud hilarious parts, and totally sweet parts--just like normal relationships do.

Once again, Ms. Walker-Smith sucked me into the story from the very first page, and didn't let up until I was finishing the last sentence of the book. She's a master at writing believable realistic fiction.

I particularly love the fact that her characters have such unique voices and ways of speaking, and also that her characters have tons of chemistry, but that she gives them their privacy when they want to be intimate and doesn't spell out every detail on the page.

I hope Ms. Walker-Smith continues to write for a long, long time, because I can't wait to read more from her!

Absolute perfection..as usual. G.J. Walker-smith never disappoints. I adore this entire series! I thank my lucky stars that I came across it on amazon. I shelve the Wishes series under; "books I could read for the rest of my life" and "I hope the author never ends this series". As always the characters were awesome and likeable, the story was well paced and it had just enough La La Land along the way. I'm so glad we got to know Bridgett in this book, she is so amazing! While I did looove reading Ryan and Bente's story, I found myself really missing Adam and Charli. I'm so excited they're getting another book! The sneak peak was amazing but I need more!!

This series just keeps getting better and better. I read this book in one sitting and inhaled every page. Ryan and bente were a great couple, no games just straight up romance, but Bridget stole the show for me. There is one scene regarding Bridget, with charli and Ryan that I had tears in my eyes (you'll know it when you read it) and I never get this emotional over books. GJ walker also did a great job of setting it up for the next book without this one coming across as a filler. Fantastic read and can't wait for the next one. In fact I would read any of GJ books. She creates wonderful characters and a world you can immerse yourself in.

This Saving Wishes series has carved itself a very special place in my heart. Definitely earned a place high in my favourites list.

Secret North centers on Ryan's story and for all I love him and enjoyed sharing his journey to his happy ever after, I am so incredibly glad Charli takes a big part in it. I can't think of another book where I have warmed to the female protagonist quite so much as I have Charli. And as for Bridget...WOW! That little girl is so freaking adorable. I don't want her to ever lose her wings ever again.

Everyone needs a la la land retreat. Magic enriches life.

I absolutely adored this book. This series is by far one of my favourites of all time. I've read them all countless times. I fall in love with the characters, setting and magic each and every time. I can't even write a proper review as there is so much to say, so much praise and love inside me for it that all I can say is "READ IT". You won't regret a single second! But make sure you read them in order. =] a great, great story.

So out of the series, this is my favorite. I’m not sure why.... when reading the other books you get to know Charli and Adam so you know you will be hit smack in the forehead with magic. But Ryan, he doesn’t believe in magic! Until it smacks him so hard in the forehead he doesn’t know what hit him!!

Read it people. I just read it for the 11th time in three years and it’s still my all time favorite read!

Well all I can say is Gemma does it again! Loved Secret North just as much as any other in the series. Ryan and Bente' s story was lovely & sweet but we didn't lose Ryan's witty charm on the way. This series is by far my favourite series of books and I literally cannot wait for the next I'm gonna be on the edge of my seat waiting until December. Thank You!

This was one of the funniest and heart warming books I have ever read! I would recommend this book to just about everyone. It did not feature see scenes beyond mentioning their existence, but the humor more than made up for it.
